In security, govt has increased funding to security agencies, given greater support and renewed impetus to the efforts to meet the Nation's security challenges.
I'm not talking about MAGIC here. We want real action!

There's still totally blackout in my area. This month alone, over 80 lives were lost on different road mishaps on Lagos/Ibadan expressway. Where's the action? Clearing of goods became easier or cheaper?

werepeLeri: This topic comes up again. Against the backlash of so many people saying GEJ knows what to do but doesnt want to do it. Or to those who daily says GEJ should do something fast, or to those who says the President is not interested in finding solutions. Lets put ourselves in the Presidents place and offer solutions - which he may not even have considered.

If you say you are not in his shoes and cant offer meaningful solutions- then may you silent yourself forever-
Advice to GEJ

Any govt that chooses to try to fight a conventional war against a non-conventional enemy is bound to loose. How? Time is on the side of the patience of the smaller, less visible
forces of BH terrorist group.

To seek out this enemy and their sponsors, and eradicate the threats of BH, the govt needs new weapons to locate and defeat them. Conventional weapons and direct attacks by JTF can keep them hunkered down for some time. But it'll cost the government thousands of times what it costs them to stay hidden.
BH group do use some modern technology, and they are not invincible either - there are possible ways of reaching inside their organizations without making noise. Mr. President, don't pin your hopes to high on winning through conventional means or talking it away.

Invest more on modern ways of combating terrorists.

Olisa74: An increasing number of people what to know where they can buy Mac accessories in Nigeria.
Is it not possible to order them from eBay or websites like Amazon.com, and have them delivered to Nigeria?
I ask this question as this would be a much cheaper option for most people.
I thought of that as well and was almost going to pay for the item that I wanted so badly. But on a second thought, I decided not to buy it online cos who'll pay for the shipping cost if the item happens to be defective.

carsellerz: At OP I share your Idea and God bless you for this question as I was suffering in silence every since.

I am in the same dilemma and I really have the same view as i also acquire a plot of land near mayfair and I really think it best building a 2bedroom bungalow on it rather than erecting a duplex.

Anyone with useful cost of building ( an expert QS) advise will be highly appreciated.
Hi,

I can give you an estimate from foundation to move-in but you'll need to provide me with basic information like must-have and nice-to-have feautures of the house, topography of the land, and the quality of the finish material (basic, mid-range or top-of-the-range).

More importantly, I'll need an architectural drawing of the proposed development. If you don't have one already, I can use one to provide a rough estimate.

Please send me an email with detailed information.

Hello sojmann,

I love you concept but here's my thought on it.

There are so many online discussion forums available, and it's best to serve well-defined niche. For example, "God's DJs, Christian Webmasters, or Christ Nation" will probably work better than "Nigerian Christians".

In other words, what I'm saying here is "Don't limit your audience!" Choose wisely! Afterall, Christianity is about spreading the word to the world and not just Naija people.

Just my thought.

PERSONAL NOTES:
This project has taken over a year because we set out to do something that has not been done before. We all know everyone can embed videos on their website and that is the norm. We set out to develop a technology that did not involve Web Masters to download, upload, embed or schedule videos to play in a simulated television like manner. We wanted this to be as streamlined as possible and as automated as possible using just public API's from the leading video websites out there. In the end, we added some extra features to spruce things up a bit. The next release will totally focus on user-customization features such as the ability to save your favorite TV channels, random backgrounds, and etc. All this was done with two man team. Biggest regrets? I didn't think of this sooner. smiley I hope you have enjoyed my post, and if you did, visit us at www.ViewMix.tv and help us spread the word about this project please. Cheers and much success to all!

Andre
Nice job Andre! Keep it up. Pls find below my review and rating of your website

Site load is Reasonable. But the first page that greeted me didn't cut it for me. I mean the Login or Registration page.

When I first get to a site, I want to know "Who are you?". And that should be answered quickly, and also make the paths to obvious follow-up questions ("What do you do?", "Why should I trust you?", etc.) clear.

Give that a try and you'll see the difference! By the way, I couldn't click the submit button on the registration page on my mobile using Opera Mini.

Thumbs up man!
PropertiesRe: What Is The Effect Of Using Wood For Decking Instead Of Concrete by brabus(m): 4:27am On Jun 19, 2012
diordaves: ^^^^
Where is the architect based? Home or abroad? I have this feeling the architect might be based abroad. If based abroad and has no fore-experience and residence (in Nigeria) experience in Nigeria you want to be cautious. If the architect is based in Nigeria ask him to spell out in details how this can be done. In details mean sourcing of timber. Size of timber. Sawing/cutting of timber to size Installation method: ie wood to concrete bond. And above all the skilled personnel/craftsmanship need to safely install the decking. You should note that in Nigeria building craftsmanship is dying and we now import artisan for simple stuff like tilling and using metals as doors just because carpentry is dying. They are all Okada drivers now. I think wood decking in Nigeria will be more expensive than concrete.

PoliticsRe: Farouk Lawan: Femi Otedola's $500K Bribe Was To Expose Him by brabus(m): 8:33pm On Jun 12, 2012
The case is pretty straight. Midget-sized legislator Farouk is trying to cover his tracks but its obvious he's not good at the game. Maybe he's a first-timer.

One thing everybody gloss over is this:

1. If IGP was truly aware, did he instruct FL to go ahead and run the show by himself?

2. Based on FL's assertions, Otedola initiated the conversation and made the offer. But why aren't there better evidences to nail Otedola. As far as I'm concerned, FL has nothing to hold against Otedola. Absolutely nothing!

3. FL admit collecting $620k in 3 installments and some gullible people are still looking for video evidences. Why didn't he break the silence when he received the first payment? Why didn't he ask for backup when he's going for the 2nd installment? GREED

Otedola is so rich that he can afford to pay him off at once. It was actually a bait to hook the greedy fella.

Aboki Farouk, you fall my hand o.
PoliticsRe: Farouk Lawan: Femi Otedola's $500K Bribe Was To Expose Him by brabus(m): 12:14pm On Jun 12, 2012
informatix: Why will Otedola Give Bribe if his Zenon wasn't Involved. The Police Memo will be the Only evidence that saved Farouk. Otedola should be Arrested Immediately if FG. Is NOT a Primary school.lol.
And why would Farouk Lawan lead committee exonerate Zenon Oil in the subsidy probe report? They're still playing along, right?

Bros, this is like asking an abducted man why decided to pay a ransom if he knew he was a clean man. Or do you assume that every kidnapped person is unclean?

Otedola is trying to scuttle the integrity of the report. How?
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Probe: Otedola Confirms Bribe To Lawmakers by brabus(m): 7:50pm On Jun 11, 2012
andyanders: Otedola's statement is just an acting. He can use any so called SSS as he mentioned by buying them over and informing them to act the way he wanted. Now, common sense will tell you that since he said that Farouk came to his house and he had SSS, why did he not ask them to arrest Farouk in person in his house with the marked money? Why did the SSS allow Farouk to go? This is just a story of a sinking man. You shouted on him when he called you and still went ahead to arrange for SSS and did not arrest him since you gave him marked money? Otedola, this is to show that you are a criminal. With the resent mode of ITC, you can use any form of technology to document any film and have it recorded.
Since Otedola said he is a patriotic Nigerian, he should have refused giving him bribe as he claimed or set him up with marked money and get him arrested.

In fact, I will not even allow such idiot called Otedola say all these if I am an investigator.
Common sense should tell you that Otedolas' Lagos residence is not Farouk Lawan's Constituency Office or House of Assembly.

You said they should have arrested him immediately, o boy stop watching Nollywood movies o!

Let's agree FL's image was doctored in the video evidence (which I assume he watched). What about his voice? Was it nursed?

And his presence at Otedola's house? Was it staged? Abi Otedola's lagos residence is his constituency office?

Abeg, smallie with chicken brain ~ stop lying!
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Probe: I didn't Collect Any Bribe - Farouk Lawan by brabus(m): 7:18pm On Jun 11, 2012
@FL collected the bribe!

As for the video evidence, I think its best if Otedola keep it to further support his claims. Before Otedola would make such a claim, I think there are more than video evidence. Imagine been caught with serialized dollar. By now, FL should be thinking of where to spend his jail term.

FL said there were pressure from marketers to doctor the report, why can't he name them as at that time? I doubt there was any pressure on the committee, instead they were negotiating.

Thanks mod for sticking this thread.

Hi Webmasters,

I’m not a web designer and I'm not going to teach you something new or inspire you with examples of great work.
Instead, I want to encourage you to showcase your work. I believe this will help to address a weakness that exists in many of our design processes.

If you do, it will make it easier for clients to sign off on your designs, and it will improve the quality of your work. Let the world rate your job based on

- design appeal,
- quality of markup and code,
- accessibility,
- website optimization,
- usability,
- presentation,
- audience experience.

Who knows, who might be watching?
