^^^Thanks for sharing will.i.am Nice layout! ______ I'm not sure if the dearth of response on this thread is due to lack of people who have completed projects under their belt, or simply because more accomplished webmasters would not have that much time visiting this forum....but if you are real webmaster worth his salt, please contribute to this thread, thanks! |
Hi Webmasters, Just as a source of inspiration, I was wondering if anyone would like to showcase their completed projects. For the purpose of this thread, please send in the project in this format: - A description of the website that includes its distinctive features. - Skills involved, the time required to complete the website. - Picture of the website in jpeg format. - Your business address, phone number, and an e-mail address where we can reach you for more information. In addition, let us know: 1. The thing you wished you knew before you started 2. The lesson you learnt from the experience 3. How long it took, team size, man hours Thanks! |
Great testimonies! Looking forward to a thread where you guys can showcase your works. |

I blive dat 1 of d xtics of a gud managemnts/firms/companys/businexs is 2 listen 2 d complains of its customers. Tanks. And what are the complaints here? And how do you want him to act in this situation where over 150 million Nigerians are acting as Technical Advisers? Maybe, he (Seun) should start attending to each comment on the thread to show that he's listening? Help me understand your point here. |
^^^They are telling you the obvious truth. But there's a way round it now, you can now use a toyota engine and gear in the freelander. I'm presently doing that. |
dmainboss: @SeunNice approach. Goodluck! |
My own idea of moderation Being the moderator of a forum like Nairaland means you should be aware of each and every activities going on inside the forums, who posted today, who replied, which thread is trending, where and what? Who came online? It is a tough job especially on boards like politics, properties, job and sports with high traffic and activities A moderator needs to be friendly but not over-friendly with members. A moderator is not a demi-god that every one in the forum should listen to, he's not an egocentric person. A moderator is not an oversabi person, he doesn’t do more than expected of him. A moderator is timely, proactive and punctual. He relieves the admin. _________________________ How I plan to moderate 1. What's best, not what's new. Its all about knowing what people wants. I may delete entire thread that aren't going anywhere. I know this will hurt some feelings but it will substantially raises the quality of the forum. The idea is to have an interesting forum that serves the content and the readers, not a free-for-all forum for spammers. I'll also be ruthless in deleting contributions with incivilities, rants, and personal commentary on other contributors. I'll work with the technical team of the forum to setup a filter that will automatically deflect certain trigger words. 2. Pre-moderated Topics I'll like to program in pre-approval only on sensitive topics. This means all comments posted on such topics are reviewed by the moderator before going live. 3. Ban Spammers. Ban their IPs Time-limited punishments for people not willing to follow the rules. Timed suspension of 1 - 7 days for minor offenders and their email address will be logged. Serious offenders should be made invisible to the forum, they'll be participating normally but other members won't see their post or be able to respond to their post. They'll remain ineffective as they are permanently a Ghost member. So help me God! |

I discover that the need for affordable housing is not a small problem to be solved, it is a chronic condition to be managed by people like you and other leaders in the industry. Looking forward to that time when N1.5m would do wonders in this country. I don re-enroll for class sir. Make una dey teach us dey go. ______________ Quick Question? Must windows and door lintels always be 9" depth? Especially when the span is short and the load coming on top of it is not much. These could reduce construction cost if properly designed. |

Nigeria is facing economic disaster on a scale few nations have ever experienced. Most people are unaware of the easily observable signs of this crisis, where it came from and how to stop it. While we persist in our 'giant of Africa' mentality, we have quietly become a third-class country in many respects. I am starting this thread to see what other people thought our problems consisted of. 1. We no longer produce what we need to sustain ourselves. 2. We import much more than we export 3. We are selling off our assets 4. We are taking on massive debts to sustain a standard of living we can no longer afford. 5. We have budget deficit. 6. We are gradually sinking into recession. 7. We do have policy deficit. 8. Unemployment is stubbornly high 9. We do not have big thinkers running the our states any more, now we have fine tuners. 10. We barely get by. 11. Lack of accountability. Everyone has someone else to blame for any problems, without thinking about how do I contribute to this problem, and what can I do? 12. Corruption in every nook and corners. |
Save » NO Invest » 60% I based my decision on where I am and what I want to accomplish in life. How much will I need to invest or save to meet set goals? You may want to ask "Don't you save up for your investments?" I grow my business little by little. |
Silence is killing us and we're all to be blamed. Silence is killing us. Over 153 people met their untimely death for no reason other than accident. This is tragic murder of Nigerians by Nigerians. Now, we're having a national debate as I do call it, the kind of periodic discussion (or chat) we go through whenever a monumental tragedies startles us into awareness. The fatal crash on the highways, the bombing of innocent people in the North, the plane crash in Accra and Lagos: these events suddenly shake us out of complacency and remind us that fear, prejudice and rage are always the shadows just beyond the light of our reason. Now, we start to speak out. Speaking out of outrage and grief. Speaking in sorrow and despair, demanding to know why such a thing could happen. And predictably, there are also defensive voices, like the Minister of Aviation trying to shift the blame to fate and probably God. "Silence is killing Nigerians." The silence of Nigerians who knew that our scriptures on corruption are few and murky in interpretation. The silence of well-meaning educated people who pretend to abhor corruption while quietly tolerating the abuse of office and power in their own nests. The silence of our elected officials who have the authority to make changes but prefer to count votes. The silence of the majority of Nigerians who shift uncomfortably when confronted by the thought and reality that we are the architects of our own misfortune. In Nigeria, we are men and women surrounded by the silence of our own fear. Our fear of being identified with the scapegoat. Our fear of taking an unpopular position for the sake of those who cannot stand alone. Our fear of social and religious change. Our fear comes in many forms, but it always comes silently. A whispered joke. A glance to look away from the truth. A quick shake of the head to deny any complicity in the pain of others. Through silence, we give ourselves permission to practice what we pretend to abhor. With silence, we condemn scores of our neighbors to live in the shadows of death. In silence, we see no wrong in accidents. Its an act of God we say. As from today, let us (government officials, businessmen, artisans, employees, employers, trade union, religious institutions, nairalanders etc) resolve to carry that part of our national shame on our shoulders and never to allow silence to have the last word Just my little cent o! |
Honestly, my greatest challenge right now is how to sustain all that I have. Not so much but too complex. B'ori ba se to, lo maa n fo ni. As head big, na him the headache go be. |
life_style: Me i don enter plane wey the engine nor gree start until them push am.. ![]() You no try at all. Did you join them push? Me don enter Boeing 747 plane wey the pilot and mechanic go find its part for Ladipo market. The pilot said BMW 7 series part go fit work am. When them no quick get the part for Ladipo, I come help them call my friend for Trade Fair. When they finished fixing the part, the pilot asked the hefty men among us to help push the plane. As the plane was about to start, na him I woke up. I was actually dreaming! Chanchangi Airline --- destination unknown |
Piyke: was it not one of their aircrafts that refused to start after passengers had boarded recently Haa! Why is that a problem? Can't they jumpstart it? Get another aircraft to push it? Or maybe beg the passengers to give it a push?------- Mr John I. Nnorom, u no try at all. Why wait till now? Why the silence? With silence, we condemn scores of our neighbors to live in the shadows of death. Through silence, we give ourselves permission to practice what we pretend to abhor. I look forward to that time when we'll resolve to carry that part of our national shame on our shoulders and solemly swear not to ever allow silence to have the last word. God bless, Nigeria. |
Owaiking: Yes! Evry time ders a plane crash, days of mournin is been declared for the lost souls... Wot abt d souls of the countless number of lives dt are lost on our bad and deplorable roads by accidents on a daily basisExactly my thought! |
I can't believe this! It looks more like a terrorist-attack than an accident to me. 153 people, just like dat!!! At that point, they could even make calls. Abi planes fit drop dead just like that without warnings. Think of it, its coming from Abuja and its already in Lagos. What does the control tower have to say about the incident? Or did it just drop dead? RIP to the dead souls. |

olyivy: Tell me what is scandalous about subsidy. You can only say you dont like/want it. Other heads of state from IBB to OBJ did remove subsidy why then is it suddenly scandalous in GEJ's time. You see nothing wrong in GEJ. I'll like to know you berra. |
alj harem: This is the very first time I am very much agreeing with Tinubu. He spoke with so much wisdom here. Kudos and this is the first time am agreeing with you. You spoke well. |
Kobojunkie: Tinubu was still a new comer on the National political scene in 1993.Kobojunkie fall my hand o. If Tinubu is a new comer, what is GEJ who is immortalizing Abiola? GEJ is still in school 20 years ago studying fishery back then. History Class for the absent-minded - Tinubu was elected senator in 1993 - He was a founding member of NADECO - He went into exile in 1994 and return 1998 |
Beaf: Is Tinubu not one of those strongly rumoured to have collected money? ![]() You're on your own! |
olyivy: Some nairalanders are making it look like a crime being one of those who voted GEJ and to that I say FORK them ALL!Wasted Vote! If GEJ can explain the fuel subsidy scandal, maybe Nigerians would pardon him. Until then, he's the most clueless and worst-ess President Nigeria ever had. |
