'( The holy Spirit knows the mind of God so there is no reason Jesus should mention him. Jesus said no one (those on earth), the angels, and the son which sums up the list adding the holy Spirit by you is unwarranted. I have posted sufficient proof from the bible to show that the holy Spirit is God. Settle down and enlighten yourself with it. Sir, you are making it seem like trinitarians made a mistake placing Jesus as second person of trinity because With this your post , You are almost telling us there is another person much closer to the Father than Christ . For me, I very much believe in this context Jesus made it clear that no other person other than the Father knows the day or hour is what Jesus meant . Your trying to argue this with revelation is just plain unsound, Revelation 1:1 said everything revealed in revelation came from the Father and God of Jesus Christ . |

If Christ doesn't know, does that not mean the spirit of Christ doesn't know?
Is the spirit of Christ not the same holy spirit ?
Do you now accept nobody knows except the Father, so we can go back to the real issue on why such a person was omitted at Matt 24 vs 36 if its a person like Father, son, angel and everyone ? Spot on !
Also ask him if the Son is Almighty God, why didn't he know the mind of God ? |

NOTE THE WORD "ALL" IF CHRIST JESUS THE WORD WAS CREATED OR PRODUCE THAT WILL ALSO INCLUDE HIM. JEHOVAH NEVER PRODUCED ANYTHING WITHOUT THE WORD. Apart from Jesus, every other thing that Jehovah God made was through Christ. " Apart from " is the correct translation of the greek word. " Choris " in John 1:3 , this is supported by Proverb 8:22 quoted for you by LovingJehovah which established that Jehovah produced Jesus as the beginning of his ways, So also Revelation 3:14 where the Son of God says he is God's beginning of Creation . the scripture doesn't contradict, if he wasn't created .. he won't have been called " Son of God" , Created beings bear that title . |

Am Sure this is a LIE ! Besides, How can your friend invite you to her wedding knowing fully well that you won't eat ( which is even ridiculous if you ask me, I can't count how many times have attend Reception programmes and everyone was served irrespective of religion And who told her Jehovah Witness couples do reject gifts from their well wishers that are not witness on their wedding day. ? )
The hilarious part is that names of those who attend church service were been called , Please is there a REGISTER at the entrance where they write their names ? Or they were able to do this within the few minutes of ending the church program during which everyone is already prepared for reception ? Who does that!
All this prove this is just a failed publicity stunt from this Lady.
Now for the benefit of doubt, lets assume all went as she wrote, ( Even though it's clear there are alot of exaggeration to feel relevant in the post ) , How can you Judge the attitude of a whole Group with the wrong of just one person ? . Is it The Bible that instruct such ones to behave that way (i.e If the story is even true in the first place) .
All this because of food ? Silly |

pocohantas: Sweerychick, you're going to get only bias response. Few posters have been objective, the rest only gave the usual talk. If you're not exaggerating, then you have reasons to be concerned. You have to understand kids brought up brought up by one parent are usually very attached to them, it has nothing to do with you having a son first. There are ladies that behave like that too.
What you should be concerned with is... is he fond of mom or is he a complete mom's boy, that type that can't take decisions on their own. If he is a complete mom's boy, then have it in mind that there'll always be interference in your home. If he is only fond of mom, you should remain glad...you wouldn't have it any other way.
Ignore blackmails, I am sure your own parents suffered for you too. You didn't wish her any wrong, you only raised your concerns which men can have too. All these guys typing rubbish here won't marry a lady who consults her mum in everything. Can I give you an handshake for the bold part of your comment ? The problem with NL is many hardly read the OP before commenting due to their fight for Front page , and even when they do most hardly comprehend . and when they comprehend most are hardly objective ... imagine a Man who would not accept the Bold, judging a woman who voice her opinion or fears on the exact same thing ? Jesus has said it all, whatever you want others to do to you, You too do to them . if only this principle is been followed, Objective comments would not have been rare |

Its not scriptural that God has destined a particular person for anyone, not at all ... Infact in a case where a couple got divorced on the basis of adultery or probably one of them died. The other is free to marry another person in the Lord. that surely dismiss the idea of a predestined special person .
Yet this doesn't mean you can't ask for God's guidance while choosing a mate , A person that seek God's guidance will be able to look for a person who loves God like they are and also have. other good qualities.

RosaConsidine: This is a bit of a follow up to my earlier thread (https://www.nairaland.com/3826091/what-point-life) but I feel this is a similar but different line of thought and should be treated as such.
Now, I'm not quite certain of what the timeline of some biblical events is (whether Lucifer rebelled against God before creation, whether both happened simultaneously or Lucifer's rebellion came after creation) but what the Bible does say at least are that
1) Lucifer Rebelled 2) God created earth and man 3) The devil tempted man causing him to fall
Asides these though, I can't help wondering: what was God's plan for earth as at creation? Did he create it to be everlasting, without end, going on and on and on interminably? If this was the plan, then man was never going to heaven. Man would always remain on earth and God in heaven, end of story.
On the other hand, did he plan for an end to the earth so man can join in him in heaven? Then the fall of man can be construed to be God's plan all along to get kick-start the process that would ultimately result in the destruction of earth and moving deserving mankind to heaven to be with him forever.
Thoughts? Nice question @ bold. Consider Isaiah 45:18 " For this is what Jehovah says. The Creator of the heavens, the true God, the one who formed the earth, its Maker who firmly established it , WHO DID NOT CREATE IT SIMPLY FOR NOTHING, but formed it to be INHABITED " Also Remember: " As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, But the earth he has given to the sons of men. " Psalm 115:16

Crime › Wisdom Can Protect You From Kidnappers by CANTICLES(op): 7:41am On May 27, 2017 |
Wisdom That Protects
“Riches are the ransom for a man’s life, but the poor are not even threatened.”— . Proverb 13:8
WHILE being rich may have certain advantages, wealth is a mixed blessing, especially in our perilous times. ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5 ) In some lands, the wealthy, including tourists who look affluent, have become targets of thieves and kidnappers seeking a ransom.
Concerning one developing country, a news report stated: “Violent robberies, fraud and kidnappings pit the haves against the have-nots. Restaurants post armed guards; the homes of the wealthy have walls with razor-wire, floodlights, cameras and security guards.” A similar situation exists in many other lands.
Yet, “the poor,” the Bible says, “are not even threatened.” How can you benefit from that gem of wisdom? If you live in an area known for crime and violence or if you have to travel to such a place, do not attract attention to yourself by appearing to be affluent. Think carefully about what you wear and carry in public, especially if your possessions would be noticed. “The shrewd one sees the danger,” says , “but the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.”
The wisdom recorded in the Bible reflects our Creator’s care for us. He wants us to be safe. Such “wisdom is a protection,” says , for it “preserves the life of its owner.”

egbabiekperemo1: Hello Nairalanders, this topic has given me so much heartaches and despite all the research i have done to find answers to this dillemma, i am still yet to find the answers. The motivation for this topic is derived from the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of my mum who passed a way last year and it is my utmost desire that i see her again when its my turn to transit to the great beyond.
Pls, nairalanders who are knowledgeable in the field of the ephemeral and spiritual matters should come to my aid.
Are we going to see our late loved ones again when we die?
Cc: Billyonaire A Sure Hope for the Dead A 25-year-old woman wrote: “In 1981 my adoptive mother died of cancer. Her death was very hard on me and my adoptive brother. I was 17, and my brother was 11. I missed her so much. Having been taught that she was in heaven, well, I wanted to take my own life to be with her. She was my best friend.” It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love. And when it happens, the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your loved one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved one is up in heaven. The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. As we have previously noted, the Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future, not in an unknown heaven but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. And at that time humans will have the prospect of enjoying perfect health, and they will never have to die again. ‘But surely that is wishful thinking!’ some may say. What would it take to convince you that this is a sure hope? To believe in a promise, you would need to be certain that the one making the promise is both willing and able to fulfill it. Who, then, is it that promises that the dead will live again? Read The Encouraging Article here : https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1101994005Take heart My brother. |

ichuka: Matt13:3Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
My Brother why would the Farmer sow on Road side,Rocky ground and Thorns knowing fully well they won't yield Fruits? Remember the Seed was scattered ALL OVER THE GROUND indicating Redemption is for the whole world(not just His children ) You know the Seed is the Word of God and the Grounds are the Hearts of Men. The Good Soil typifies the new Heart God gives to His children(EZIKEL36:26) without a new heart believing in Christ is impossible. Let's also look at Romans. Romans8:19For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it,...
in hope 21thath the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God....,, Creation 22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the "REDEMPTION" of our bodies. ... So apart from believers Creation(unbelievers and everything created that has been corupted) groans also to be set free from the bondage of corruption. The Redemptive work of our Lord is for the whole creation of God. Remember Creation being freed doesn't make them Sons/Daughters of God. Thanks Sir, For the bolded references ... compare with this statement. " If Judas wasn't saved, it means Christ didn't die for him. Simple " does it Rhyme ? |

An2elect2: "Everyone" or "every man" means all God has given Christ not every individual to walk this earth. This is in concordance with many scriptures that show particular redemption.
Let's look at the passage you quoted. From Hebrews 2:9-17
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the childrenwhich God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
There is the full message.
Your view= Everyone means every individual that has ever lived. Bible view= Everyone is all the children God gave Christ.
Confirmation: Apart from the facts of particular redemption expressly stated in the Bible, Christ death is the only thing that reconciles men to God. No freewill or works is needed for it to be effective.
vs14,15. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
If no "freewill" or "works" is needed to perfect Christ's suffering and death, it then means God must by the death of Christ give life to those Christ died for in time. THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE BORN AGAIN. it is after men are born that they receive Christ. John 1:12,13.
[i] You know it doesn't. If Christ's death is sufficient enough to save a man, that man must be saved. So if he died for all men who ever lived like you think all men must be saved. Because Christ took the death of all he died for and gave them his life. How can they perish still?
1timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Only God has the power to save and bring all men to the knowledge of the truth. Not only does God desire this, He has willed it. First, Christ gave himself a ransom for all. And then the life he purchased with His blood is being given to all men. Since not everyone is given this life, we know "all" does not mean all men that have existed. Stop twisting the scripture to your own destruction, EVERYONE and ALL in those two scripture is clear . "He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours alone, but also for the sins of the whole world." - 1 John 2:2. He died for the WHOLE WORLD, Is Judas not part of the whole world ?
