In 2019, Borno alone wiped out PDP’s gains in 3 states of Anambra, Abia and Evonyi!!!

You even posted ambode's achievement join...the man tinubu and his blind supporters openly condemned and accused of abandoning Tinubu's legacies yet, built an ultra modern and first of its kind bus terminal in Africa. He abandoned his legacies but bought almost 1000 brt buses . He abandoned his legacies but constructed a brt lane from oshodi to abule egba. I'm not even talking of the capital projects he executed in less than 4 years.

Had ambode not called the bluff of Tinubu, do you think he'd have achieved so much? They said his sin was that, he's not a party man, his not a democrat, blablabla. Yet, his government recorded budget surplus for the first time in decades after our uncle Pa Jakande's administration. So, sanwoolu who's now a party man and a democrat, It's almost 4 years already. How far?

We're voting the man with that one wrist watch instead of the reckless Tinubu who keeps using our money to buy jets. He has his investments in those sectors you mentioned. We will take his hands off those sectors come next year. I pray there'd be elections. Mr jeun soke kotun jeun sapo. We didn't undestand what he meant by this in 1999 until he moved from AD to ACN
All this your long story, I never mentioned Ambode. All I said is if people can support a man who has no achievements for8 years in office, no infrastructure, no IGR gain, only dead bodies in rivers as a result of shoot on sight orders, simply because he has 1 watch and 2 shoes then they can support a man who has a record of visible achievements in spite of his negatives.

The point here is Obi supporters are not in a position to criticize a man who has a record because Obi has no record to campaign on!!!

They were both Governors for 8 years.

I thank God many Yoruba Christians are no longer falling for that crap and have been seeing them and their tricks.
they made sure that Osinbajo's ambition was dead and maligned him in the most wicked manner ever calling him unprintable names just because he's a Yoruba Christians even when he's over qualified than their preferred choice Tinubu.
they said Muric is on his own yet Tinubu urchins who are mostly Yoruba Muslims are already here on nairaland pre-primaries telling you that it's Tinubu or nothing, meaning they don't rate Osinbajo and will never support him should he emerged.
Same people are pushing for Muslim-Muslim ticket telling people that yoruba Christians will fall in line because they knew they'll deceive them with their usual lines that "religion doesn't matter"

The same Yoruba Muslims that said religion doesn't matter are gradually pushing for Sharia laws in Yoruba land and before you know it boom it's already in supreme Court and it'll be ruled in their favour.

Dear Yoruba Christians, it's time to wake up and stop living in lies and deceit

We have grown up with Muslims and Christians in the same family, the same schools, in peace until you people started introducing religion into our politics. All this religion crap is the reason your areas are Sh1t!!!!! Don’t come here telling us Yoruba ronu, when the result of your intolerance and homogeneous zones is that your zones are uninhabitable and you run to yoruba land to make your living!!!!! It is the tolerance of the yorubas that you enjoy in the SW that makes your flourish in the SW and the intolerance of your people that drives investment and businesses away from your land.

The biggest change Obi will make is to dilute the Atiku challenge. The people in the SW you talk about we’re never going to vote for Tinubu.
They are mostly in Lagos and we saw a taste of it in 2019.

People are already entrenched in how they plan to vote. The APC man in the SW isnt going to vote for Atiku or Obi, come rain come sunshine. The Obi man isn’t going to vote for Tinubu come rain come sunshine. The Atiku man isn’t going to vote for Tinubu come rain come sunshine. The question is how many Atiku/ Obi supporters will move from one camp to another and how many new supporters can Obi get!

Atiku cannot win this election, his base has been decimated and he has no new supporters. The question is whether Obi can get enough new voters in addition to the voters he has taken away from Atiku. I would be lying if I said I knew and so also anyone who claims to know because it hasn’t been tested, we are in uncharted territory. Nobody knows whether the surge in registrations will translate into votes and how! Nobody knows if the sleeper voters who previously don’t turn up will turn up. Nobody knows!!!!!

The bookings are coincidental. IMHO the surge in bookings have nothing to do with Elections but is simply advanced bookings because of half-term as we have so many children now schooling abroad. Children coming home and parents going to spend half term abroad see dates for spring half term 2023 below!!!

Trust me I lived abroad for many years. I know the economics and the mindset of those living abroad. Nobody is traveling from his/her base abroad just to vote.

People who are looking for how to pay rent, mortgage, credit card bills etc. The average Nigerian abroad cannot afford to take time off work for a week!!! Don’t let them deceive you!!!!

The biggest planes only carry 300-400. Let us assume 300 of them on every flight are coming to vote and 10 flights a day, So you have 3,000 arrivals everyday for 1 month. That is only 90-100,000 votes…..it is inconsequential!!!!!

This is why true politicians says social media is all noise!!!!!

The people telling you they are coming to vote, do they have PVCs?

If you truly live abroad, you and I know that “want to” and “will actually come” are 2 different things, so also booking a flight and actually paying for a flight!!! Do you and your friends have PVCs? I doubt!!! When February comes, you are your friends in Sweden and USA will be monitoring events from the USA and Sweden. If you truly live abroad, you know I am right!!!!!

I must say that after watching his interview on Arise, My conclusion is this. I was impressed by certain things and was disappointed in certain matters. He looks to me like a man that cannot ruffle feathers, a man who will perform if he has the cover of a god father but who runs from conflict. His comments on his senate ticket was not inspiring. He said some positive things but In summation, his interview was a wash, the negative cancelled the positive.

The main thing I got from the interview is that the Obi/Datti ticket is no threat. Even to Atiku.

They own Nigeria because the youth don’t think right! The youth have had 2 years since endsars riots to build structures, to become delegates, to sensitize and start grass root campaigns, they were busy watching BBN and following Burna boy while the owners of Nigeria were strategizing. Now 7 months to an election they decide to support two 60 year old men who themselves are part of the status quo (Peter Obi ironically is a key actor in the emergence of the notorious SARS due to his shoot on sight order he gave Anambra SARS). The 1st one Osinbajo, olule, the second one Obi, olule but he managed to stand up and port to a party with no structures. If youths had strategized and joined parties and seized the moment and taken advantage of the momentum of endsars protest , things might have been different but they were only interested in street party. Not a bad choice in terms both qualifications and presence. However, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is politically speaking, very lightweight both nationally and locally.

Looking dope, polished and elitist is good but Nigerian politics is akin to a fight in the jungle. I am not sure what his association with Northern youths has been to use them as his support-base and foot-soldiers. Can the 'Northern street' readily identify with him? Moreso, when that street is largely illiterate and helplessly gullible as the result of aloofness of young professionals like him.

Matter of fact, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is not any different from the other Northern elites who in spite of their exposure and erudition just stay aloof, do their things and mind their businesses without doing anything socially to empower the young Northerners.

Nevertheless, if this is Peter Obi+Datti Baba Ahmed's time, things will fall in place on their own with little effort.
Rome was not built in 7 months. I don’t think they will win this time around but If they stick together and attract more credible people over the years into their ranks, they will provide a vibrant opposition and be primed to pounce should Tinubu mess up… Atiku cannot win! Buhari should never have had a second term if PDP has been remotely effective as an opposition.

Peter Obi has gone as far as he can go. He won’t win you any new supporters . If anyone is moving to your camp in future it will because they identify with Datti not Obi. Both the standard Northern voters he is on the ticket to address but also the intellectuals in the south who have seen enough of Obi and have failed to be impressed but can identify with Datti in a way they can never identify with Obi and his waffling, talking a lot but saying nothing!!!

I am not an Obi convert, I like Datti but if I vote for Ob (extremely unlikely), it won’t be because of Obi, it will be because of Datti because he is the kind of man, I want as president one day and I feel more comfortable with an Obi presidency with Datti on the ticket! It will take a lot more for me to switch to Labour but if he wins I won’t be afraid of an Obi presidency with Datti on board……and that’s a big shift!!! I would certainly prefer Obi/Datti to Atiku.

It has the opportunity to design and position the state for the 21st century without the encumbrances encountered by many other already developed haphazard states with crumbling infrastructure. You have put the crux of the matter beautifully in the emphasized passage above. I can understand young people feeling fed up with seeing the same old faces running again and again, but what's the point of bringing in a new face if it turns out to be even worse than the old one? This mindset of wanting change for change's sake - never mind the specifics - is what brought about disasters like Trump's presidency, Brexit, or the eloquent law professor in Tunisia who was swept into power as a "man of the people" and promptly revealed himself as a dictator.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kais_Saied

Peter Obi's unwillingness to commit himself to any clearcut positions on issues hardly makes him out as a "breath of fresh air" who will tackle established interests, even leaving aside all the shady dealings in his political career that are currently being glossed over by his supporters. Obi is afraid - rightfully I believe - that as soon as he starts taking clear positions, his followers will no longer be able to treat him as a blank slate upon which they can project any of their own fantasies. But if he's so afraid of alienating supporters now, how will he find the courage to do so when in office, at which point real-world consequences will be at stake, not just mere daydreams?
Sometimes I wonder if he really wants to be president or is just riding the wave of popularity to see where it takes him, hence his lack of strategic thinking and preparedness both in terms of a master plan or a plan to ascend to the presidency. His decision to dump PDP to me shows bad thinking, his decision to join labour again poor thinking, his decision not to be Kwakwanso's deputy...again poor strategic thinking. if he thinks he is going to be president in the current mood of the nation as the head of the ticket, he is deluded. His fans are in the south, the votes are in the North!!!

Peter Obi's supporters in PDP would IMHO have turned Tinubu into the underdog, especially with his muslim-muslim ticket dilema, yet he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and ported to labour, a party with no structures and no heavyweights, no governors, no parliamentarians, no Northern strangle hold. he turned down the offer of VP to Kwakwanso who would have given him 1) credibility amongst non Obi supprters (I heard Kwakwanso speak the other day, he is a sound mind) and support in the North.

How you want to run for presidency in 7 months and appear on national TV without a coherent plan or at the very least a clear position in principle on the burning issues is befuddling. Even I who is not running can reel out what I will do if I assumed power tomorrow because for years, I think all the time of Nigeria's problems and solutions, I can tell you how many Km of roads in what period and how many jobs will be created by associated industries as a result of huge road projects, quarry, agriculture timber etc which industries i want to revive how they interconnect, How I have a rail plan but All the steel used must come from the Nigerian steel industry, so we must revive steel plants as a matter of priority. How i intend to remove subsidy amongst other avenues to fund these projects, my plan to revive universities and make the top tier Universities fee paying to stop the forex we spend every year to send our children abroad and give schorlarships if and when required to qualifying students etc etc. A presidential candidate should be able to come on Tv and say things like these 7 months to an election!!!!! The days of "The Platform" are over, nobody is interested in wikipedia statistics, people want to know decisively what your plans are!

You are not on TV to sell yourself to your supporters, you are on TV to convince the skeptics, your supporters are already in the bag. You dont convince skeptics when you appear on national TV without a plan skeptics have no emotional connection to you so they see through BS unlike supporters. 2) He clearly hadnt anticipated the questions and prepared himself for the possible questions, which shows, not only are you unprepared but you dont have people around you who are prepared and can prep you for interviews. Again just like his decisions making vis PDP,NNPP, all he ends up doing is show a man who doesnt think things through but relies on blagging his way through.

I dont understand how a presidential candidate appears on TV without having ready made answers on burning issues in the land. If i were a presidential candidate from the Se i would have sat down with my advisers and focus groups before any television interview and have ready made answers for questionslike

1. State police,
2. Insurgency,
3 . restructuring
4. Subsidy
5. A guiding principle and outline (if not specifics) for how to grow the economy and a target growth rate
6. IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu (because I am fromthe SE)

etc

if I dont have answers (I shouldby now) I wont appear on TV else I destroy my campaign before it starts like Dan Qualyle. You mess up on Tv and sometimes you never recover from it in the eyes of the people you need to convince. gain I stress you are not appearing or campaigning to convince your supporters...they are already in the bag!!!

Subsidy is consumption while the productive sectors of our economy use diesel where there is no subsidy!! So dont let anyone fool you, no subsidy removal, no infrastructure, no investment in education , no economic growth. So any presidential candidate who doesnt have a plan by now on subsidy, security (state police) and restructuring is not serious.
