This simple means the northern Muslims don't regard northern Christians.

They can't allow Christians that are Northerners to lead them in NE and NW.

Bigotry if the highest order
Sentiment doesn’t win elections, Numbers do. Politicians are in the business of winning elections, unless you win you can’t execute your policies.

Are Christians going to compensate him for the votes he will lose in the North from a Muslim Christian ticket? The answer is no because the Christian vote is already split between APC, PDP and Labour. No person who was going to vote Atiku or Obi is going to vote APC because he gave his VP slot to Christian. That leaves the APC Christians who are mainly from the SW. most don’t care and those that do and will vote someone else are not large enough to offset the loss of Muslim votes in the North.

It’s not rocket science

Actually I agree with your first point but the second is unfounded. There's a reason the presidential election and legislatures are hel on same day and it's because any favorable party winning the presidential will have a bandwagon effect on the legislative seats. If a candidate is popular enough to win the presidency in a zone then that legislative seats would be cleared alongside because people don't really know who is on the ballot for legislators and will only vote the party they voted for president hence they get most seats.
So if obi is popular enough to win election in the southeast I suspect LP will clear a lot of lagislative seats in the southeast.
I saw this coming and would have contested for house of reps under LP but unfortunately I am not from the SE.
Oh Really? Please tell me how many Labour house of assembly members did Mimiko have in Ondo, also tell me why they didn’t follow Obi and vote APGA in Anambra?

Also if you agree he will not get 25% in 24 states then by definition he won’t get enough Labour federal parliamentarians to push though his agenda.

Wow, the pentecostal Church more dangerous than Isalm. Self-delusion! Keep such narrative coming and even the most unschooled almajiri in the North would laugh at such high-handed attempt to change the narrative.

You will not see a Christian beheading a Muslim for insulting Jesus, so what? If Islamic clerics don't go to take up government positions so must Christians do like them? Muslims rule this country whether you like it or not.

I want to stop engaging people on this forum because there are lots of hypocrites sent here to arm twist others into submission.
You typify what I am talking about. The danger of Christian fundamentalism is not physical, it is is in the enslavery and dumbing down of the mindset of the typical Pentecostal Christian . The typical Nigerian Pentecostal Christian is so indoctrination he fails to engage his brain. Not all dangers are physical. That you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t present. We who interact with you are the ones who notice it. The most morally bankrupt people I. Nigeria today are Pentecostal Christians. That is what these pastors have done to your pysche. I am yoruba and I am Christian. It pains me to say it as a fellow Christian!. Nigerian Pentecostals Christians are a terrible advertisement for Christianity!!!

As ElRufai said above, you do t ask your pilot or doctor if he is a Muslim or Christian

If you were going to vote for Tinubu but refuse to vote for him because he picks a Muslim VP then you are part of the problem of Nigeria. You are worse than the almajiris because the almajiris is not educated, you are supposed to be educated and enlightened, further highlighting what I said about Pentecostal Christians and their IQ.

In one breath you are defending the insensitive plans by Gbana Ahmed to pick a northern Muslim and at the same time you are stating religion has no place in politics.

You see why nobody trusts you and your yamri cousins?
I am a Yoruba christian by the way. religion has no place in politics thats why he should pick whomever will make him win. the North are educationally disadvantaged thats why religion matters to them. the south are supposed to be more educated but our pentecostal churches have eradicated the effect of that education.

if you dont elevate your thought process, then you will reduce yourself to the least common denominator which will make you no better than the Almajiris. At least they are not educated...whats your excuse?

The best period in the history of lagos was under Jakande....his deputy was also a muslim. The best period of growth for Nigeria was under Gowon, the top 3 people in Government were christians. Gowon, his deputy Wey and Awolowo his finance minister. its no coincidence that things have headed south since pentecostal christianity took hold in Nigeria and our politics. theyve not only taken all your money in tithes, theyve also taken your brains.

i dont know what you mean by Yamri but I am proudly yoruba and proudly christian.

Honestly, are you actually canvassing for a Muslim-Muslim ticket? Doing so is actually playing right into the hands of Atiku.

In this Political era that we are in Nigeria, there are two main things you can't take away from Nigerians when they are making their choices the party they want to vote for : Tribe and Religion.
Forget politics, Like i said the most brain dead people in SW Nigeria are Pentecostal christians. Only outsiders can see it as sometime you stop noticing the smell of shit when you are surrounded by shit

Unknowingly you have just proven my point except you are too brain dead to see it. You dont want to vote for Atiku and so also my other Christian brothers from the SW shouting no. When push comes to shove you will make noise but you will vote Tinubu because you know, upon all your noise, you would rather vote for him even with his muslim/muslim ticket than Atiku. It is at that point you will unwittingly realise religion doesnt matter!!!!

.

It's as if you read my mind. I would have given Peter Obi 50% probability of winning 2023 presidential election if he stayed in either PDP or APC, but with Labour Party (no disrespect to them), he will only come a distant third.

The funny thing is that you will hear Igbos claiming they've been marginalized again after the elections, or that they've rigged PO out of the presidential race.

Most of them believe the social media hype is enough for Obi to win. By the time Tinubu and Atiku rolls out their campaign machineries, e go shock PO supporters.

Come to think of it,how many states does Labour Party control? None. And you want to win a presidential election? I laugh in Mandarin.
The bottom line is how many are they? even if they get all the votes in the south, which they wont, they cannot get the required 25% in 24 states. its a suicide mission!!

They dont think, how is he supposed to govern without Labour senators and house of rep members? who will pass his budgets, who will confirm his ministers?

If you think Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Oyedepo etc will support a Muslim-Muslim ticket, then you have taken the joke too far. Infact, they will strongly campaign against it. That's where Tinubu will start loosing the election. With Muslim-Muslim ticket, Tinubu can't win his South West. The fact they're all supporting Tinubu doesn't mean they ain't sensitive abt religion.
They are the problems of the SW. They are the reason many in the SW cannot think straight anymore. Their brand of christianity has done nothing but impoverish the minds of my fellow yoruba Christians. They are the reason why Osinbajo turned from star boy to pariah...because he was led by a religious agenda from above.

The truth about state of religion in Nigeria is that the pentecostal church is more dangerous than Islam. There is a small fraction of Islamic fundamentalists but there is a huge proportion of Pentecostal Christian bigots!! You will not see an islamic cleric contesting for political office, the Catholic church wont allow it but Our pentecostals have a grand agenda to control government.

unfortunately for the Ibos their leader decided to join a party that cant win and now the main parties are not even factoring them into the equation. When they lose now they will start shouting marginalization.

Please when Peter Obi loses, learn your lessons, know that you are the ones that bleeped up and dont start shouting Biafra or marginalisation. Understand you messed up and go and reconcile and pay your dues and wait your turn.

what experience has taught us from osinbajo is that when supporters start saying their candidate is "the only option", you know their candidate will come 3rd!!! it is a symptom of a candidate that is all hype and no record of performance, so the only thing they can resort to is try to bully people online with "he is the only option". Front-runners try and woo people by listing their candidate's past record or plans.

You obviously don’t understand anything about Nigerian politics or may be this is just fanatical but still it won’t work in Nigeria well not for now. If you recall Abiola & Kingibe.. The still remains the best Presidential duo Nigeria would have had but you know what denied them that office? And this was when to an extent Nigerians lived in harmony, today no sane christain will vote a Muslim muslim ticket. And if you are a good listener you must have heard even what he Tinubu said about why he couldn’t be PMB’s runing mate.
that is exactly the problem, there are very few sane christians left in Nigeria thanks to the pentecostal churches, you people have lost the ability to engage your brains. it is not a coincidence that the only Yorubas who refused to step down are pentecostal pastors and there were resoundingly disgraced!! What a pastor is doing contesting for office in the 1st place, i can only imagine the vitriol if an Islamic cleric ran for president of Nigeria!!!

As for understanding politics, you are the one who doesnt understand politics, again a symptom of a pentecostal dumbed down brain. the idea that you ever thought Osinbajo could have won the election without a political structure is clearly not enough of a wake up call that your brains are not in the right place. Politics is about numbers, yes they will lose a few votes but APC will retain more votes with a Muslim/muslim ticket where the votes really matter than they will lose with a muslim/christian ticket in areas where they dont matter.....if you dont understand that, I cant help you.

If you have the numbers you can talk, if you dont have the numbers you fall in line. the christian vote is already split between APC, PDp and Peter Obi. You dont have the numbers to make a difference. The most you will do is sit at home, you dont have a choice.

As for Tinubu as VP, it wasnt his choice to make, it was Buhari who made the choice under pressure from Saraki who was scheming to be Senate president. Tinubu understands the SW better than Buhari.

It's either you don't know where you are or you are a selfish person.
You dont become president if you dont win the election. Sentiments do not win elections, numbers do, therefore if your emotions and sentiments do not have the numbers to back it up you have no option but to take a back seat and take your panadol. if elections were about sentiments and emotion, PDP and APC would be fielding SE candidates and peter Obi would not be on a mission to nowhere in Labour party.

You become president because more people vote for you than your opponent. Therefore you do what you need to get the votes you need, sometimes you have to sideline certain groups if they do not have enough votes to get you the win in order to get the votes of the people that will give you the win. if you are not in power you cannot do anything except make noise.

that's the reality of democracy....deal with it in your quiet time.

You can play the religion card all you like but like I tell the ibos all the time, you can only dictate when you have the numbers. if you want to win an election and you dont have numbers you MUST appease the people that will likely vote for you. You and I know that Tinubu is a moderate Muslim, his record in Lagos and the SW in terms of his key people is there to see, not to mention his wife is a Deacon! if you want to get bogged down in religious sentiment thats your business but you wont advance your cause. Let me remind you sometimes you have to make gestures to build relationships. We have not forgotten that when our own was under fire, it was the Northern governors that said 1) no power must go to the south and 2) it will go to the SW 3) it will go to Tinubu. Let us not forget they fought for us, a SW man is on the ticket because the North fought on our behalf. If a Muslim Muslim ticket is what is needed to complete the job, so be it, the truth is it doesnt affect your life 1 iota!!! You and I know we are not that bothered about religion until the politicians and penrtecostal churches started to manipulate some of us. Dont allow others to polute your thinking, a yoruba man normally doesnt think like that.

The truth is there is nothing anybody can to to christians or Muslims, the law protects us. But more importantly, When the time comes, upon all your noise you and all the other SW christian who were going to vote APC will vote for whoever Tinubu selects as his VP....... you know it, I know it.

The truth may hurt but the reality is this SE votes are going to obi and PDP, SS votes are going to PDP. APC needs SW and Northern votes. We will vote Muslim Muslim ticket in the SW and it will sell in the North. You go where the votes are!!!!

besides we need to get away from religion from our politics if we are not yet mature to get away from tribal sentiments.

Osinbajo:
You said, "He is the chairman of the economic council, during his 7 years in office our GDP has fallen." Care to give us the comparative GDP of other countries within the same period? To make your work easier, can you check out those of countries like Brazil, Russia, Mexico, India, South Africa etc? I'm sure those countries don't have Osinbajo as the chairman of their economic council.
Find something else about him, factors impacting GDP in today's global economy render such sweeping conclusion inadequate.

Peter Obi:
I have no argument against Obi's IGR and lack of transparency as mentioned repeatedly by those familiar with Anambra and all the issues of governance that arose after Obiano was sworn-in especially the development that led to Obiano increasing workers salaries by 15% almost immediately. Obi was a chief executive of a state and had the final say.

Atiku:
Atiku was a known influential crook at the custom's service. We know that about his background. We know about Obasanjo calling him a thief, that was Obasanjo's summary of his 8-years stewardship as his vice president. What were his lasting legacies in government? So, I'm waiting for you to examine his records as you stated and let's see if you come out with a better report than his boss.

Tinubu:
I agree that Tinubu has lasting legacies in government which underlines the fact that he can assemble a good team to get things done. He was able to demonstrate such acumen because he was in charge. Osinbajo and Atiku were never in charge, they were deputies to the boss. However, Osinbajo trumps Atiku because his background is not tainted despite people digging everywhere to pin something on him.

Borrowing your words, if you remove the veil of Bias, religion or tribe that blind many of their supporters, behind all the hype and fine speeches, and without pretending to know some magic facts that no one could substantiate, I would rank them in the following order from the best to the worst based on my brief summary above:

1. Osinbajo
2. Tinubu
3. Obi
4. Atiku
Having checked the GDP of Brazil and Russia (i didnt bother with the rest) I take on your point about GDP of Nigeria and I will desist from bring that up as an argument. there however is still no basis to rank Osinbajo higher than Tinubu as you yourself admit, he has no performance record, this is not the time to test a rookie, someone who has never handled an economy, a business or any management role succesfully . if you are a lawyer or a pastor, your mouth must sweet, thats different from results out of a court room or church. Osinbajo has no business being top of that list if truly you adhered to the criteria. Anyway it is a moot point at this stage because he is out of the race so i wont dwell on it.

I wont dwell on peter Obi since you are not contesting my assertions that he is a lot of hot air.

As far as Atiku, Let me say !st OBJ is in no position to call anyone a crook. I know at close quarters the financial state of OBJ even before he was incarcerated and brought out to become president. I dont disagree that Atiku is dodgy (I am no fan of Atiku, all I said he will still be a better manager of the economy than Obi.
