obviously you arent the one who calculated the $10b. since you arent the one who calculated it, can you verify whether the it is acutally true or not?

i also asked i thought buhari said before 2015 that theres nothing like subsidy?
The problem with nairaland is that all sorts of imbeciles and retards engage you. you see 4 trillion approved for subsidy in black and white, you are still arguing, what is 4trillion if not $10b? are you really this dull?

People like you who elect presidents based on sentiment and popular opinion are the ones responsible for presidents like Buhari and it is the same thing you are doing now with osinbajo and Obi. They have nothing to show, please disgrace me and tell me their signature achievements in government. i ask this question all the time and none i repeat none of the osinbajo or Obi supporters can answer and you wont be able toeither and if you respond you will instead digress and not point out any achievement.

Track records in office. if you remove the veil of Bias, religion or tribe that blind many of their supporters, behind all the hype and fine speeches, you will realise none of them acheived anything in office. I have spoken on this extensively. Osinbajo for instance what does he have to show, he is the chair man of the economic council, during his 7 years in office our GDP has fallen. If you examine Peter Obi as Givernor, during his 2 terms the IGR of Anambra decreased, not decreased over 1 year but in 8 years he couldnt increase the IGR of Amambra instead it decreased. there are more things you can examine, if you examine both men their cinduct over the primaries shows IMHO they both lack integrity. Osinbajo is a pastor by nature they have sweet mouths...you need one to be a pastor. Obi on the other hand is a sales man, you need sweet mouth to be good in sales. Obi is talking of consumption to production has anyone asked him why he never decided to produce any of his items in Nigeria? i can go on and on.

Atiku has a record we can examine, tinubu has a record we can examine. They may be tainted true but who in politics isnt? but they both have lasting legacies from their periods in Govt. They also have wthe political clout to get things done at the national assembly and get them to go along with their ideas, approve budgets, ministers, laws etc. Obi and Osinbajo dont have that political capital!! Obi for instance spent his entire tenure fighting his own HOA, being impeached twice!!!

Oga cool down, is this not how Bubu started we know what happened. Look the reality of the fact is that Nigeria is broke For three months plus NNPC has not been remitting into federation account meaning no Income from oil sales, and there is the problem of debt servicing and Bubu has smashed the National record of Borrowing that makes Jonathan appear like a saint.
Truth is that if Tinubu cannot articulate a plan to get us out of this mess we have gotten ourselves in as per Debt, all this promises is just hogwash because you will need money to finance the budget , is it by increasing taxes on an already impoverished population? Hell No, the answer is clear to everyone Tinubu inclusive first cutdown the waste at the top and audit the civil service at right size the civil service. Then transform the economy into a productive economy. All this is what Peter Obi has been saying but you are here saying it is wikipedia stats.
and you need to calm down, the man has said he will remove fuel subsidy, Fuel subsidy is $10b a year thats more than 25% of our budget!!!... Peter Obi just makes noise he hasnt said how he intends to do anythng. The real problem is you are not engaging your brain but are blinded by sentiment and nothing sensible will make any sense to you and your like because you are not approaching this from a place of intellect.

I will remove $10b from subsidy and put it into education........How hard is that for you to understand? it is the easiest promise to make and deliver on because the money is there, you can see where the money will come from. You prefer "i will turn consumption to production" by someone who hasnt told you how?

if you had any intelligence and your motives were pure, it is not his promise that should be your problem because it is easily fulfilled but how he will deal with the fall out from Subsidy removal. But you seemingly lack either intelligence or pure motives. But just to klet you know how smart Tinubu is, he has already told you before he gets into office that he intends to remove subsidy, so if he is elected he will tell the unions he has the people's mandate to remove subsidy as that is what the people voted for.

What if Proffesor Yemi Osinbajo comes out as independent candidate?

History has shown that indirect primaries in Nigeria have never produced candidates who truly have the interest of Nigerians at heart and we can no longer put the future of our children in the hands of these old inept recycled politicians.

I still believe in Proffesor Osinbajo and there is a provision for independent candidacy in our constitution.

I am convinced that this will be a viable path at this juncture, an option worth exploring.
do you guys have any brain cells, firstly where do you see independent candidate in our constitution? secondly, fringe parties cannot man 170,000 polling booths and are struggling to build structures and it is independent candidate that you think that can prevail in such an environment. You guys refused to engage your brains during his campaign, try an at least show that you learnt something from the defeat by engaging your brains!!!

Politics › Re: Emeka Ihedioha: The Race For Atiku's Running Mate by casualobserver:
Kayceenaz:
If you've been politically observant, you would notice Emeka Ihedioha craves and has been making subtle moves to become PDP Atiku Abubakar's running mate. Could this be why he declined supporting his kith and kin, Peter Obi's or any other south-easterner's candidacy? A week ago, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal infamously stepped down for Atiku in the PDP presidential primary election. Tambuwal has been lauded, even getting a heroic reception in Sokoto for placing his region ahead of self and friendship in political calculations.

Yet, the jotter remains blank, no notes taken. Ihedioha is friendly close to Tambuwal. Could Ihedioha have been part of terms and conditions for Tambuwal's cooperation? If true, isn't this reprising the role of a pawn? To think Imo State's beloved bride in the 2019 election is (or has been) so eager to play second fiddle, when he could have supported his geo-political zone's cause for presidency nonetheless, reminds Imolites again how unlucky they have been since 1999.

A good number of persons from Imo State you see drumming support for Atiku online or offline are affiliated to Ihedioha. They do so not for a better Nigeria as their sermons claim but largely for personal gains. Their principal in Agodi House, Aso Rock would afford them access to feast as well, they think. Continued relegation of South-east in Nigeria is okay, as long as they are okay. Imolites, when they switch to plan B of seeking the state's governorship seat in the next election, remember these moments. Respond to them also in Ogun State Governor Dapo Abodun's words to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, "We have heard you. We will do the right thing."

My answer to your question is that seasoned politicians know that Obi is on a suicide mission in Labour Party. yes there may be selfish reasons but no seasoned ranking SE politician worth his salt would support him. it just makes no sense!!!!

Obi is the one you should all blame for leaving PDP, he made the mother of all political miscalculations, just when the SE were inches away from the VP slot as you say and the presidency. Now even if they choose a SE VP candidate, they would have lost massive votes to labour making it hard to overcome an Incumbent APC. When the analysis of the 2023 election is done, if Atiku loses it will be because Obi left with his voters to Labour.

Now that Osinbajo is out of the way, many of the deluded youth with support Obi. Imagine if Obi's teeming supporters vote for PDP!!! Just think about it and you will realize the extent of the monumental fuckup Obi just executed by leaving PDP!!! it is such a monumental fuckup that APC can feild a muslim muslim ticket and still win because Obi has split the opposition votes. Instead of blaming Inhediora, direct your angst at Obi.

By all means engage in moments of fantasy and dream but remmember to come back to earth and face the realities. We told the Osinbajo people, you have no structure, you have no delegates, dont confuse online support with party support, they decided to continue with the dream, today they landed back on earth with a loud thump, many of his supporters have been too ashamed to even show their faces on nairaland and so will the Peter Obi supporters when reality hits them!!!
Politics › Re: Peter Obi’s Labour Party Faction Recognised By INEC by casualobserver: 1:59pm On Jun 09, 2022
Peter Obi fans will get the same result the Osinbajo fans just received. We warned the Osinbajo fans that you need delegates and to get delegates you need to be in control of a structure. Delegates do not care how many online fans you have. So also we tell the Peter Obi fans, do you have a nationwide strucutre? There are over 150k polling booths in Nigeria, can Peter Obi raise the funds to man those booths? Can you get 5m votes in a fringe Party with no structure? if you cannot get 5m votes you are not even in the race because you will need 10m+ to win.

Buhari has 10m guaranteed votes that has been a constant since he started running in 2003, they are not the kind of people that will vote for a peter Obi because they are not online. The non ibo Peter Obi supporters are urbane, educated etc. they are not that many 1m tops. the rest will vote for APc or PDP. So by definition this is a suicide mission because all it does is take away ibo votes from PDP and the reality is at the last hour many will realise Obi cannot win and voting for him is effectively a vote for APC and will port to PDP.

* months is a long time but as at today, if he gets 2m votes he would be a massive success....except he will still come 3rd like Osinbajo

Atiku + Wike is a formidable opposition. Don’t underestimate Wike. It is going to be a tough election but whatever happens, even if APC/ Tinubu loses, we in the SW will never forget the role the North played in the emergence of Tinubu against all odds . We will never forget and we will always tell our children that when some wanted to put our leader to shame, even some of our own, they rallied behind us. Peter Obi cannot win in Labour party, no matter who he chooses as running mate. We warned the osinbajo supporters, they didnt listen.

in 2031 presidency will return to the North and a SE person will be VP after which he will become president in 2039. That is 16 years of SE in Aso rock, SW will not fight it with you, North will not fight it with you....but take the next 8 years to build bridges and we (SW) will do for the SE what the North did for the SW and what some of your delegates did for Tinubu. We wont forget, just like the North did not forget what Tinubu did for Buhari.

Play your cards right over the next 9 years and for the next 16 years, 2031-47, Aso rock is yours in one form or another and just like the Northern governors have done we will stand against any yoruba man that wants to contest for VP or presidency.

Thats how you play politics!
My advice to ibos is this: start to plant yourselves in APC. Start to groom young ibo politicians in APC with a bid to become VP in 2031 and president in 2039. You have to pay your dues, nothing is handed to you or given to you by threats and demands. Pay your dues, be patient and work for the overall good of the party and trust me when your time comes, as you have witnessed, the North and SW will fight for you. In the same way the North embarassed Lawan and the SW embarrassed Osinbajo, we shall embarrass anyone who dares to contest against you.

Do not waste the next 8 years with politics of demanding, Threats and separatist movement. It will only harm your cause when your natural turn comes again

God bless southsouth and southwest...

If you are a Christian and you vote in a Muslim man as your president you r curse from today..
I am a yoruba christian but I will never support a Pentecostal pastor as a President of Nigeria, can you imagine an islamic cleric contesting for president?. You people will be up in arms!!!! This is the reason why you people lost because this was a religious agenda and because you were so blinded by religion your brains and even the christianity you profess to espouse deserted you. God will never ordain you through treachery and betrayal, if you were true christians you would have known that As God had blessed Osinbajo and plucked him from Obscurity and elevated him to vice president, the same God will not sanction him betraying the person he (God) used to elevate him. This is the problem with the pentecostal faith in Nigeria....90% of your leaders and followers are immoral people andyour christianity is transactional christianity!!!!

Now Osinbajo is disgraced in yorubaland and will forever be known as a betrayer.... a man that can never be trusted.

it is instructional that the people whoi betrayed the yorubas in this election are pentecostal pastors and God who stands for equity justice and loyalty disgraced them both.
