TMKsouth: President Cyril Ramaphosa says officials were working on an evacuation plan for South Africans who are trapped in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Ramaphosa, who was attending the National Executive Committee meeting of the ruling ANC party on Saturday, said they have also received calls from various countries in the Middle East to send humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza have been without water, food and electricity for almost a week since Israel started bombing Gaza. Israel also cut off the supply of fuel, water and electricity.
But Ramaphosa and the ANC NEC condemned the decision by the Israeli government to force 1.1 million people in northern Gaza to move to southern Gaza.
He said what was happening in Gaza amounted to genocide and the world must stand up for the Palestinians.
South Africa was willing to participate in any peace process to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
As you know this is an unfolding situation and it changes hour by hour. Our government agencies, our international relations department as well as our intelligence services and our defence intelligence are monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis,” said Ramaphosa.
“To this end we have called on the international community, the United Nations and all other concerned organisations that peace is restored in Palestine and that the Israeli government is directed at withdrawing this command of getting people out of northern part of Gaza because in the end it is going to amount to almost genocide as many people are going to die.
“As we speak now half-a-million people, who are Palestinians, have been displaced. They have been removed from their homes, they live in schools and other areas as well. This is the most tragic situation and almost dangerous situation that the people of Palestine have been exposed to,” said Ramaphosa.
He said humanitarian corridors must be opened to allow for the supply of food, water, fuel and other needs. Electricity must also be restored to the people of Gaza.
Ramaphosa said they were also concerned that the conflict may spill over into the Middle East and drag other countries in the region.
There were already conflicts in Africa and Ukraine, and the world cannot afford to have another conflict.
The genesis of the problem is that Abraham slept with Haggai and begot Ishmael and the world has known no peace because of the problems caused by the descedance of Ishmael such as the Palestine and Hamas. Palestines and South Africans are like blood and water. Both of them don't mix.
🇷🇺 Russia and Burkina Faso Forge New Energy Partnership.
In a landmark move geared towards improving its energy landscape, Burkina Faso's military leaders have signed a deal with Russia to build a nuclear power plant to increase electricity.
It is the junta's latest move to align itself with Russia after falling out with most of its Western partners.
The junta has turned to Russia for economic and military support since it seized power last year.
Burkina Faso is one of the least electrified countries globally, with only 21% of people connected to power. An MoU, that has been under discussion between the two nations, is for the construction of a nuclear power plant in the West African nation, aiming to address its acute electricity shortage.
This agreement has been the outcome of extended discussions held between the Burkinabe military ruler, Capt Ibrahim Traore, and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Russia-Africa summit in July. The upcoming MoU will be officially signed between the Russian federal atomic energy agency, Rosatom, and the Burkinabe ministry of energy. The signing is set to coincide with the Russian Energy Week 2023.
Burkina Faso, one of the least electrified countries in the world, is in dire need of energy solutions. Currently, only about 20% of its population has access to electricity, as reported by the International Energy Atomic Agency. This lack of electricity access is a significant impediment to the country’s development, impacting everything from education to healthcare.
Burkina Faso would have gotten investors like Russia to generate electricity for them using renewable energy sources instead of nuclear power source inorder to avoid the hazards associated with nuclear power

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has accused Israel of “genocide” against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Maduro made his comment in a televised address on Monday.
“The Secretary-General of the United Nations issued a statement, which we read carefully, as a warning and alert about the genocide that has begun against the Palestinian people in Gaza,” said the Venezuelan leader. “We have witnessed in the past massacres and brutal atrocities against the Palestinian people.” The current situation, he pointed out, is a “new apartheid system” against Palestinians.
“We demand an immediate ceasefire, respect for UN resolutions, respect for the rights of peoples, and the commencement of peace negotiations to allow the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights to independence, land and peace.”
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said earlier in the statement referred to by Maduro that, “While I recognise Israel’s legitimate security concerns, I also remind Israel that military operations must be conducted in strict accordance with international humanitarian law.” He added that he is “deeply distressed” by the announcement that Israel will initiate a complete siege of the Gaza Strip, with nothing allowed in: “No electricity, food or fuel.”
That announcement was made by Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Galant. He also described Palestinians as “human animals”, in a blatant effort to dehumanise the people of occupied Palestine living under Israel’s military occupation.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday evening that the death toll from Israel’s bombardment had risen to 704, including 140 children and 105 women. Almost 4,000 people have been wounded. Israeli media reported that the number of Israeli deaths had reached 900, with 2,616 wounded.
Venezuela President did not scream genocide when Hamas killed about 900 Isrealites, wounded about 2,616 Isrealites and kidnapped some Isrealites. Now Venezuela President is shouting genocide because Isreal retaliated and is defending her nation from heartless terrorists. Venezuela President should just KEEP QUITE or else his village people would remember him.
The fear of Isreal is the begining of wisdom in the Middle East. By the time Isreal is done with Gaza, village people no go get mind to throw stone inside Isreal.
Some Nigerians will be attacked and the Government would not take action. They rather wait for the God of Israel to save them! 🤷♀️
As long as tribalism and nepotisim abounds we can never be as technologically advanced/ united in face of terrorism as Isreal. We in Nigeria are good at visiting Isreal and attaching JP to our names after visiting Jerusalem
ibinaboonline: The debate has been ongoing for a long time now and this is my two cents on the matter.
A car's speed is not solely determined by whether it has a manual or automatic transmission. Both manual and automatic transmissions can offer similar performance in terms of speed.
However, the actual speed and acceleration depend on various factors such as the engine's power, torque, aerodynamics, and weight.
True, manual transmissions can provide a more direct connection between the driver and the engine, allowing for precise control and potentially faster acceleration if the driver is skilled at shifting gears efficiently.
On the other hand, modern automatic transmissions, especially those with advanced dual-clutch or continuously variable designs, can shift gears quickly and efficiently, potentially rivaling or surpassing the performance of manual transmissions.
Experienced drivers, what do you think?
..
I think it depends on the number of cylinder of the engine. A 6 cylinder engine would be faster than a 4 cylinder irrespective of whether they break is manually or automatically driven
I also think that automatical gear would accelerate faster than manual gear

I was just wondering, from the topic above, do foreigners really fancy Nigerian education to enrol in it?
Throughout my almost 14years as a graduate, I always see school fees for indigenes, non indigenes and foreigners, so this came to my mind again, if people travel all the way from abroad to study in Nigeria?
During your undergraduate days, did you see any foreigner as an undergraduate student of your institution?
The education system in Nigeria is so bad that I don't think any forigner would want to school in Nigeria
His nick name Moh Bad, which means "I am bad" may have had a negative impact on his lifestyle and personality while he was alive. There is power in the names and nicknames that we bear. There is also power in our tongue. It is very important that we bear a good name or nickname that would influence our lifestyle and personality positively. We should also learn to make positive declaration concerning our lives
May the soul of Mohbad find rest in the afterlife.
NLC should just announce a date for total strike and stop holding unfruitful meetings with FG. I am tired of the high/ unbearable cost of living in Nigeria

Undilutedme: Hello nairaland family. I trust you guys are doing fine. I have a little problem and I need a piece of advise on how to handle it.
I have a very wonderful mother. She's caring, sweet, compassionate, name all the good characteristics of a good woman, she's got all but there's this problem I'm still having with her. SHE NEVER APPRECIATES ME, NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY. My mom will never appreciate me for anything I do, even if she does, she does it nonchalantly like it doesn't matter. She compares me with friends at every slight opportunity she gets.
There was something that happened. Momsy travelled sometime around this year and stayed for close to two months and she has a shop that she manages. The shop's generator has been bad for sometime and it's really stressful for her selling with dim lights but she refused repairing it again because according to her, the generator is consuming her money because of too much repairs every time. So I wanted to surprise her, I called a friend that fixes generator to come help me fix it so when she comes she'll see that it has been fixed. My friend came and fixed it. When momsy came back and I told her that I fixed the generator for her, she told me that, she didn't send me to fix generator for her and that she is not going to use it. According to her "I send you make you fix gen?. I say I nor wan use the gen again". I swear I was really hurt.
On another occasion was during the just concluded UTME exam. My friends wrote before me, a friend of mine had 330 so I told her, she was very happy. She was like, I pray you get something like this. Fast forward, 3 days later, I wrote mine and result came out. I scored 314, when she came, just happily told her, instead of being happy, she just hissed and said "You nor fit get reach 330?". My spirit just died immediately. She likes comparing me with my friends.
There are many occasions things have happened but I'll not bore you with unnecessary talks. It's really eating me up emotionally and psychologically. How well can I make my mom appreciate me more?. How can I please her?.
Ps: Please nobody should throw insults at her. I beg you in the name of whoever you serve. Thanks.
Everyone has a cross to bear in life. You have just shared your cross. Just ask God for the grace to bear it. Always be good to your mother inspite of her shortcoming.

I admire Mr Peter Obi a lot. The truth is that he cannot with a sitting President of Nigerian / CGFR even if he goes to supreme court. I expect his lawyers to guide him properly. I also expect his close associates to advice him so that he does not waste money on the supreme court processes. He should start laying foundations for 2027 presidential election.
