udemzyudex: You can pay more than #80k for a computer repair and not that not all body Job will cost #80k same with laptop repair.
If you want to go into laptop repair make sure it is not card level repair, you can do card level repair to get the knowledge of that part but move to chip level repair.
To fix a MacBook board can cost over #100k. Even some laptops Worth over #1m. Please, I want to find out from you, between a car and a laptop, which is more expensive to acquire and to maintain in Nigeria ? |

rickyamos: What skill is more lucrative in Nigeria between Autobody works and Computer repairs? Autobody works is more lucrative than Computer repairs in Nigeria. For example, I paid N80,000 to re-spray and do body work on my big for nothing in 2020. I do not how much it would cost now that PMS in my area is 935 per litter. The cost of repairing one computer is not as high as N80,000 |

Is it possible for NLC to get a restraining order from Industrial court for Federal Government to revert to status quo (old price of PMS ) ? |

Health › Re: I'm Scared I've An Abnormal Growth On My Forehead by chiboycue: 7:03am On Jun 11, 2023 |
Mekoyaw: Good day to everyone on this prestigious forum. The decision to share this story of mine came to spotlight after months of reluctance & indecision to share and as a result of the stage of deterioration regarding the physical abnormality. That I truly regret!!!
First & foremost what I'm about to say here is about the strange body growth that attacked my left foot, above my left eye & most disturbing right now the bony protuberance on my forehead during my service year in Benin City in 2021, though the last in the list was habit induced which started before I was called-up for NYSC but not very noticeable while the others still remains a mystery to me how it started, at that time my colleagues make jest of me that "you played Johnny with Benin girls abi which is absolutely false. But those on my foot & left eye subsided with the help of an kind elder-state dad in my area.
Now the one disturbing right now is the bony protuberance I've on my forehead which is at a degenerating stage, it's actually began with a childhood habit of mine which involves rubbing my thumb knuckle roughly on my other finger which I find pleasurable now this habit metamorphosed recently & upgraded to my forehead but I only did it when I'm sad, not knowing that I'm causing injury to my forehead but then when I noticed some little bump I stopped it even before I went for service, since then it's just growing.
Please I need all the help I can get right now. The help you can get right now is to visit a good medical doctor in a general hospital or teaching hospital for medical advice and counselling. |

Christianity Etc › Re: I Was Sent Out Of The Church Just Because I Was Wearing An Earring by chiboycue: 10:35am On Jun 04, 2023 |
Merry100: Even though I had to follow certain doctrines when I was younger, I have come to question some of them as they cannot be proven through the Bible. I am particularly curious about where the Bible specifically forbids wearing earrings. My parents are devout Christians, and they did not even pierce my ears, let alone allow me to wear earrings. However, one day I felt like wearing an earring, so I put on a magnetic earring and went out. Later in that day, I attended a Church program a friend invited me but when I got to the Church, I was asked to remove my earring or leave.
I am not trying to shade Christianity, not all Churches treat visitors that way, I was even surprised at the way I was treated that day. I am just specifically curious about where God condemned earring in the Bible? I accept that all Churches have their own doctrines but some of these Churches still use there doctrines to rate Christians from other Churches. Is wearing earring a sin or just some Church doctrines? I can't find any verse in the Bible that condemns earring. If you know any please indicate. The doctrines of churches varies from one church to another. Some churches permit female members to wear trousers and mini skirts to their services while some churches do not permit it. Some churches do not permit women with lipsticks and men with dreadlock to come forward to receive holy communion. Some churches insist that women should cover their hair before entering their services while some churches allow women to attend their services without covering their hair. Some churches allow men with dread locks and worn earrings to attend their services while some do not permit it. Some of the doctrines ensures orderliness and prevent distraction during church services. |

Fineman2: My name is Dora.
I am 35 years old and everybody keeps reminding me that age is no longer on my side.
My fiance and I have been dating for more than one year and we are getting married soon.
My fiance is 40 years old and he has never been married.
The relationship was really good when we started but now that our wedding is in a few weeks time, he has shown how controlling he can be.
From the choice of the wedding dress, to the bridesmaids selection, to the colour of the day, he wants to be in charge.
He also wants his mum to buy the cloth for our engagement as well as buy our wedding ring.
He does whatever his family says without seeking my opinion and it almost seems as if I am not the one getting married.
I told my parents about how this makes me feel and they just asked me to endure because I am getting older but I really fear for what is going to happen after the wedding.
Are these not red flags I should run from?
I am confused, please advise me. He who pays the piper calls the tune. If your finance and his family are providing the money for your wedding, then they can dictate the arrangements for the wedding. If your finance is the kind that relies on his mother to make decisions for him, then that is a red flag that you should not ignore. If his mother and siblings don't like you, then that is another red. If he is hostile towards you than that is third red flag. I would advice that you fast and pray about your wedding and ask God for a sign. |

Essenza01: I really don't know anymore, i just did my budget for the month and i am scared, i have cut from everywhere possible and i fear for my self.. i dont have a GF, Wife, Children.. my salary is N400,000 and i have added side businesses and one or two's to even survive.. but with this fuel increase, what else is left... zero savings..
- Rent - N108,333/mth (1,300,000/12) - Fuel for car - N180,000 (36k for 5-6days) - Auto maintenance - N30,000/mth (service/repair) - Fuel for generator - N50,000/mth (20ltr/wk) - Feeding - N62,000 - (N2,000/day) - Health miscellenous - N5,000/mth - Dstv - N4,500/mth - Data - N7,000/mth - Recharge card - N3,000/mth - Dry cleaner - N4,000/mth (Starch/iron) - Hygiene maintenance - N10,000 (body spray/perfume, roll on, soap, cream) etc.. - Gift to people - N10,000/mth - Family House contribution - N20,000/mth - Eko electric - N10,000/mth - repairs and maintenance - N12,000/mth - Clothing, footwear etc - N10,000/mth - Outings, restaurant, sit outs and provisions - N30,000/mth
Total = N556,500...
My rent is average rent for where i stay, its a two bed flat, i use the other room for home office..
Feeding is N2,000/day.. its not anything out of the ordinary.. tried cooking and spent more with time wasting.
Fuel for car is at the new rate of N500/ltr, my car is a 70ltr car tank..
Auto maintenance is basic brake pads, shocks, service 2mths, tire guage, police pr, tire purchase if any, minor touch ups etc... nothing major.
Fuel for generator is 20ltr/day (2hrs or less daily)
I need help.... how are you people doing it, what am i doing wrong? The rat race is killing me.. Try and get a 2 bedroom accomodation of about N400,000 - N500,000 per annum if you need a 2bedroom but as a bachelor it is wise to get a one bedroom apartment which would cost about N300,000 - N350,000 per annum. Try and cultivate the habit of saving at least 45% of your monthly income. It good to a separate bank account with no ATM card so that you could be transferring at least 45% of your monthly salary to that account without ATM. Then cut down on your expenses on fuel for vehicle, generator, gifts to people and eating at restaurant. Alternate source of power is solar with inverter in place of generator. Pay your tithe to God. Stock your house with food stuffs and cultivate the habit of cooking home food. Instead of going with your vehicle all the time, you could go on public transport. You could subscribe to the least expensive package on dstv. Plan to buy a piece of land and develop it in the future. |

Previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/7703882/court-dismisses-suit-seeking-stop#123380638 The truth of the matter is that there is no hope for Labour Party and Peter Obi. Jagaban is now GCFR and now immune to Supreme Court judgement. The Supreme court would dance to the tune of Jagaban. Going to court to challenge Jagaban's victory is like playing "kalo kalo". He is now reigning as the President- elect and will reign after 29th May 2023 for at least four years if God does not say otherwise . Family › Re: Does This Make Me A Polygamist by chiboycue: 5:17pm On May 25, 2023 |
CoolNL: I and my siblings grew up in a very dramatic polygamous home, it was both hectic and toxic at a time.
We vowed to break the yoke of polygamy in our family but I don’t know if I’m toeing the line already.
I already have a child with a lady though I didn’t marry her, but we ended our relationship in 2020. We are cool and we are both taking care of our child without troubles, we only talk about our child and we don’t share what’s going on in our lives with each other.
I recently met a girl I plan to marry by the first quarter of next year, she is from a nuclear family and she knows about my family background as well. She’s been asking me what I’ll do if the mother of my child says she won’t allow my child visits or come spend the holidays with me except she is also allowed to come spend the holiday with my child in my house.
The question sounds confusing at the same time funny to me because I don’t know how a woman I stopped seeing since 3 yrs will suddenly say she won’t allow my child visit except she comes along.
That’s not my worry, I want to know if marrying my girlfriend when I already have a child with another woman will make me a polygamist.
Mod please help move to front page
Cc RoyalRoy If you go ahead and marry your babe and she starts having children for you, they would refer to your first son as their half sibling and your first son would refer to them as his half siblings. You wife would refer to your first son as her step son and your first son would refer to her as his step mother. The yolks of half siblings and step- parents may persist in your descendants. But if you marry the mother of your son and work towards ensuring that your marriage works with prayers, then you have broken the yolk of polygamy in your descendants. |

DownTime44: https://www.nairaland.com/7686172/been-restless-having-chat-elder
All thanks to everyone for their immense contributions towards my elder brother predicament. This place is truly home away from home. For those getting to know or who just come across this thread, you can read through the link posted above to get a grasp of where I'm coming from.
Someone sent me a mail having gone through my post and we both shared contact. He works on the island and he was willing to absorb my elder brother into his organisation. It's an organisation where one learn a skills and get paid monthly. Then after being certified in your skills, you can be employed as a full staff into the organisation. He would be given #20,000 monthly as stipend while learning as an apprentice but the man promised to be adding #10,000 to it making a total of #30,000 monthly. This person didn't know me from Adam but was touched by my brother's condition and he developed interest in helping him in his own little way. He asked me to inform my elder brother and get back to him.
I discussed everything to my brother verbally. Infact, i relate everything to him in my mother's tongue for ease of communication. I asked him if he has any interest in the offer and he said yes. He has interest. He's very much interested. He said he'd specialised in plumbing. I reached out to the man and we both finalise everything. He asked my brother when would he love to resume and he said month end. After the call, i asked him why month end and he said he doesn't have anything. He needs to get some few clothes, toiletries and some money for upkeep. I asked him where would he get money from less than 2 weeks to month end. He claimed if he can see any bus to work with. I told him you've been out of job going to a year, you didn't get any bus. Why do you think you'd get a bus within a short space of time? I asked him what if i rally round for him, is he willing to resume before the month end, he said yes with happy face. I borrowed #10,000 from a friend, i had #5,000 left with me, making a total of #15,000. I gave him 2 pairs of trousers and shirt i had. He bought a small school bag of #3,000 to put his clothes and he left in two days time. That was last week Wednesday. Oh! God, i was the happiest man on earth that very day.. I was so happy for him believing that he would become somebody from there. I called him to know if he has gotten there and how the work was. He said everything was fine.
I was surprised to see my brother at home on Friday, two days after he left. I asked him hope all is well? He said yes. I asked him why did he came back home so soon considering the cost of transportation to island. He was given a room he'd put up with. I expected him to stay there and focus on his job, whenever i have any money i would send to him. The man that helped him with the job called me later in the day. He narrated the gross misconduct of my brother. My brother left the job on Friday during working hours. The work is Monday to Saturday. Though Saturday is half day. He explained every details of the job to my brother before he resumed work. My brother was assigned to someone else to work with, not directly the man that helped him. The man only came to check up on him daily to know how he's fairing. The man was there when my brother took his bag, headed outside with the claim that he was going home. The man told him he can't go home now till after work, which is on Saturday. My brother didn't listen to the boss he was assigned with nor the man that helped him. He left right in their presence.
They do give daily report, and the man he was assigned with reported that he doesn't have anyone to work with, particularly on Saturday. The management asked him about my brother assigned to him and he said he has left on Friday. My brother was dismissed for his attitude. I pleaded to give him a second chance, but the man said it was beyond his power. The management has decided. I asked him to report there today and apologise for his gross misconduct. He went but apology wasn't accepted. If i was the man that helped my brother with this job or if i was among the management. I would do the same thing. I'd gladly lay him off without thinking twice.
My mother had been crying having heard the outcome of everything. I myself had cry my eyes out, all because of this my elder brother. I am fed up. The burden is too much. I might be tempted to harm him living under the same roof with him. I had been trying to console my mum but she wouldn't listen. Landlord came to harass her last week, the very day my elder brother left, because of house rent. I had 3 younger siblings to look after. Here comes my elder brother problem again. I am responsible for all of these with my meagre pay. I don't know what else to do for this guy. I don't think i can put up with him anymore. I am tired. Why is this life full of problems? I am losing my mind completely. God would continue to bless you for all the efforts you have made and are still making to ensure that your elder brother has a better tomorrow. It is unfortunate that your elder brother messed up and this kind of golden opportunity is hard to come by. You need to keep encouraging him to look for another job to do and to provide for the family as the oldest man of the house. He needs to earning a living in order to support you in providing for the family. Life is full of problems indeed and you need to be strong and prayerfull for your family and hope for a better tomorrow. May God give you the wisdom to overcome the temptation to harm or poison your elder brother |

PaNnamdi: My younger brother studying biochemistry at the University of Benin have had about 5 carry overs. Now he is in his third year, and he is seriously depressed. I have seriously reprimanded him and also consoled him but I don't want him to spill and based on the fact that when am in school I never had issues like this, I decided to bring this online.
Is it possible for him to drop some of the mandatory courses in his department(note not core courses o,but mandatory courses) to accommodate for the carry over courses he had.
Please I need legit answers from those who are experienced in issues like this.
Mod u can place or more this to the rightful thread, Some might still be passing through this situation too in silent. I don't think it is possible to drop mandatory courses. You need to boost your younger brother's moral and let him know that having 5 carryovers is not the end of the world. If others pass the courses , he too can pass the courses as well. He should get past examination question papers of the courses he carried over and for the courses he is studying and study them thoroughly to know questions in the past examinations questions papers that have the tendencies to be repeated so that he can prepare adequately to answer them if they are reapeated. If the questions are six to answer four questions for example, he should know the four questions that he can answer correctly study them and know how to answer them even if the questions are twisted. He should be puntual to all his lecture classes and take notes and attendance seriously . He should take his continuous assessment works like term papers and take home assigments seriously. By God's grace, he would excel |
