Family › Re: Is It Advisable To Tell My Wife How Much I Earn Per Month? by Chinom(m): 7:06pm On Jul 19, 2012
I live by one principle : If it a'int broken, don't fix it. Your wife is not asking you to show her how much you earn. SO DON'T. Things don't normally work in Nigeria and Africa the way it works in the west. $ugadaddy's comment is the reality in mordern day Nigeria. Every husband knows his wife more than anyone else. You can decide for yourself if she needs to know or not.
Let me assure you that in NIgeria, changes will occur either way. Overtly or covertly. In Nigeria, you are expected to earn more than your spouse. If you earn less and your wife is not aware of it or does not care to know. Then keep your big mouth shut.
Properties › EFCC Seizes 45 Mansions - The Nation. N35b Pensions Fraud. by Chinom(op): 6:00pm On Jul 17, 2012
This confirms what i have always said about the ridiculous prices placed on Properties in Nigeria. These are the sort of people that buy a simple 4 bedroom duplex for N120m for the simple reason that they did not have to work for the money. No hardworking self-made man will buy a house for N100, N150 or N200 million as being advertised by some unscrupulous estate agents here.
Property prices in Nigeria are artificial and arbitrary. Corrupt Public officials have ruined the market for ordinary hardworking Nigerians.
This is my take on it. Feel free to add your own opinion.

PS: These 45 mansions are owned by just 6 persons. Ordinary civil servants. >:
Only mo'r'ons will actually think jonathan is happy that his party couldnt win Edo state despite all the threats, manipulations and intrigues to the run-up of the election. The simple fact is that the election process had not nothing to do with jonathan but the people of Edo state that resisted every attempt by pdp to rig the election.

Where was Jonathan when pdp attempted to manipulate the voters' register before oshiomhole cried to the world ? I still maintain that the emergence of oshiomhole has nothing to do with jonathan but the people of Edo state that voted wisely, protected their votes, thwarted pdp's attempt to rig and elected a credible governor for themselves and by themselves.
I normally don't respond to id-iots like you simply because only m0ronic imbeciles like you are quick to drop the word "mo-r-ons". Your comment displays crass ignorance of the Nigerian situation before Jonathan came in. Let me tell you how it was during OBJ's tenure.
In Edo state, people could vote wisely, protect their votes and thwart any attempt to rig, BUT Anenih will write the results the way he and OBJ wants it to come out. Before GEJ, people could do all those things you mentioned, but the results are written even before votes are cast. What GEJ did now is to provide the enabling environment for people to vote and make their votes count. JONATHAN MADE IT POSSIBLE. That's why he deserves praise. Did'nt people vote "wisely"for MKO Abiola ?. Did he become the president ? NO. Because the man in charge then did not have the interests of our nation in mind like Jonathan does. OBJ and IBB had wicked intentions. Jonathan is God sent. There are many crooks he could have appointed to head INEC if he had bad intentions. But he chose Jega and most importantly gave him a free hand to operate.
People like you who know nothing about the intricasies of Nigerian politics, past and present should shut up. I will be the first to criticise Jonathan when he's wrong. So far he is the best thing to happen to Nigeria at the moment.

Left to where ? !!. I just left Nigeria in May. i will be back again in September. So, i am aware of the current situation. The cost of properties in Nigeria is whimsically fixed by you agents. It all depends on how greedy and hungry you agents are. sometimes, the owner does not even want to sell for such high prices. You guys mark it up 10 fold. Just to cash in on the 10%. And What the hell is "TOTAL PACKAGE". it does not exist any other place in the world.

ifeci: Sorry, is that Joseph? wake up cos u might be dreaming again. There is no vacancy for him come 2015, if he can even leave now, Best! you tlk about innocent blood? How many hv died cos of your GEJ's ineptness? no worry, in 2015, u will read ur lips urself.
Fo0l, he's getting a second term. By the end of next year, we will likely have 70% more electricity. With that, nobody, i repeat, nobody can stop GEJ and his crew from ruling a second term. Either that or Nigeria disintergrates.
Politics › Re: Let's Praise Gej by Chinom(m): 5:24pm On Jul 15, 2012
Irrespective of what anyone thinks about GEJ, he is the best president we've had for a long time. Nigeria is a very difficult nation to govern. Jonathan has very good intentions. We should all give him the chance to get things done in Nigeria. He is moving in the right direction. Never again would we allow the likes of OBJ and IBB to rule Nigeria again. Kudo to Jonathan. There shall be light soon.

Propertymart: Why make unfounded claims? Have you inspected the site? Prospective buyers who need to own plots of land/home in a serene, peaceful and quiet neighborhood need to come inspect the site. The location is easily accessible to Lagos City Center. Why continue to be TENANT when you can own your own home not far from your present rented duplex.
I do not need to inspect it. I know the area very well. Fix the price at around N4m, then we can talk. Mowe too is "serene, peaceful and quiet". Would i pay N12m for a plot at Mowe. CAPITAL NO.The problem with the property market in Nigeria is ARBITRARY PRICING.

Properties › Re: Various Acres/plots @ Epe For Sale In A Good Serene. Prices From N300k Per Plot by Chinom(m): 9:10pm On Jul 14, 2012
Epe is the last frontier of Lagos state. This property is located in the bush. However, that does not mean you guys cannot buy a plot of land there. It all depends on why and what you're buying the land for. I just have a feeling that most of you guys have no clue where these plots are located.
Somebody going from Ikeja to Benin might get to Benin first before you reach Epe from Ikeja. The plot is offered for N100k with payment plan available. !!. That tells you all you need to know.
I may actually buy 2 plots for agricultural purposes.

@OP i can relate to your story. I found myself in such a situation once. Infact, i'm not even fully out of it. My advice to you is to MOVE now. At 40+ years and 15 years in the UK, your motivation to undertake any venture solely in the UK is zero. Once the motivation and enthusiasm goes,it will be very hard for you to bring yourself to do any meaningful thing in the UK anymore. Carrying on with odd jobs will totally kill your spirit.
Procrastination is very dangerous.
People have been known to start businesses in Europe with 10,000pounds, talk less of Nigeria. When you return to Nigeria, lie low for a while and figure out for yourself what exactly you want to do. Do not use other people's experiences to make decisions that will affect you. From your post, it's obvious you're fed up with living in UK. Now, focus on how you can use that money to start something in Nigeria. 10,000 POUNDS IS ENOUGH TO START A BIZ IN NIGERIA. the keyword is START.
Politics › Re: Why We Appointed Dame Patience As Permanent Secretary In Bayelsa State by Chinom(m): 1:58pm On Jul 12, 2012
She should get the fu*ck out of Abuja and go to Bayelsa to carry out the function. That will save us the budget for "first lady".
Politics › Re: New Igbo Group Vows To Avenge Killings In The North by Chinom(m): 1:55pm On Jul 12, 2012
What we should strive for is a SOUTHERN NIGERIA republic not Biafra. Biafra as currently composed will be of no use to us. If BH can be contained or even wiped out, then Nigeria should remain as it is. Otherwise, we should move for a southern Nigeria nation. Like minds should stick together. We need each other in the South.

You still be small pikin if you ate okin. The real old school biscuits was CABIN. One tasteless, dried up stuff. For some special treat one could get Crackers. Life was pretty simple then. Why all the stress now?.

We need more cement manufacturers in Nigeria. I do not care about what tribe the producer comes from. Cement should not sell for more than N1000.= . We do not need monopolists in such a vital product. Housing is our fundermental right.

DID OTEDOLA COLLECT CLOSE $300MILLION TO IMPORT FUEL OR NOT ?. IF HE DID, WHY DID HE NOT IMPORT THE FUEL. That, my friend, is the real question. If he did not STEAL our money, there will no need to offer bribe to this ignorant mallam.
Releasing this tape is a St*upid move. They are both toast.
Politics › Re: Photo Of Jonathan Waiting For Oba Of Benin In His Palace. (picture) by Chinom(m):
If the snub really happened, then the Oba is the real di*ckhead here. This cannot happen in the US or Europe. A vindictive OBJ would deal with this Oba squarely without him knowing where the blow came from. Thank God we have GEJ. He is the MAN here, not the pathetic Oba. That is,if the snub actually happened. Who publicised this picture anyway ?.
Politics › Re: Audio Of $3M Conversation Between Lawan & Otedola (Part 2) by Chinom(m): 11:42pm On Jul 03, 2012
Otedola is chasing shadows. I just hope that the FGN and the EFCC will not fall for this crap. This conversation is the private business of both Otedola and Farouk. We are more concerned about those that collected trillions of naira that belongs to us all. Otedola should tell us point blank if he collected close to $300million as subsidy for fuel importation and why he did not import 1 litre of fuel after collecting such huge amount.
Farouk Lawan is a dead man. i don't give a hoot about him. Otedola has a case to answer. Anybody who collected $300m will happily give away $3m as bribe inorder to cover his tracks. Otedola was clearly shedding tears of joy. "i'm crying, my brother " WTF. This is a very embarassing stuff.
OTEDOLA MUST RETURN OUR MONEY HE STOLE.There's nothing smart about this tape. The subsidy report can be empirically verified. CBN has all the records. Otedola should have bribed someone at the CBN to wipe it off. Dealing with this cattle-rearing mallam was a big mistake. Not a very smart move.

Very skewed post. How can you omit Flavour, J Martins and The Yori-Yori guys (their artistic name just escaped my mind). These guys music are played all over the world from Guyana, China, down to Australia. The only real world stars on your list are Timaya, P-Square and Dbanj. I've heard Yori-Yori in a Car driven by white folks in Germany.
