atuboweke: PLS u guys should stop all those stuff of Domestic this and Domestic that, Nigeria this and Nigeria that!!!! Airplane crash is the same everywhere in the world. Even America has witnessed worst crashes in the past.
You seem to have missed my point. I do not fly to anywhere if i can do same by road or rail. It does not matter if i'm in USA, England, Germany, Holland or Nigeria. The best way to get aroung Europe is by rail. My earlier comment is not specific to Nigeria. Have you not heard of Americans who don't even fly at all?. If i do not fly domestic in Europe, why on earth would i want to fly domestic in Nigeria. Because it's cheap ?!!!. What we need in Nigeria is a functioning rail network. Plane crashes happen all over the world. The problem is the Aircraft not the location. i personally hate air travel. I'm claustrophobic.

I just don't trust those Indians especially when it comes to Nigeria and Africa. They do things here they would never do anywhere in the Western world.
I say BAN them. However for me, it does not matter. I NEVER FLY DOMESTIC AIRLINES. I RIDE THE BUSES. What's the rush for ?!!!.
Travel › Re: Pictures Of Dana Air Crash Victims by Chinom(m): 1:31pm On Jun 04, 2012
Call me what you like, but i have this principle that i NEVER fly domestic airlines in Nigeria whenever i'm at home.I only fly when there are no other alternatives, like intercontinental. But once i'm in Nigeria, i ride Ekene or ABC buses.I know they say flying is statiscally much safer than going by road, but it does not FEEL that way. As soon as that plane takes off, you lose total control. I am yet to hear of a bus accident that killed ALL passengers. In a bus, i could be one of the few passengers that survive. In a plane we all die. Now that makes a lot of difference.
The safest way to travel long distance as far as i'm concerned is by rail. But since we are yet to have functioning rail system in Nigeria, i take the bus. It might take a long time, but i always look forward to the breaks in between when i can come down and enjoy my banana and peanuts at Benin or Umunede.
I even bought two seats once just to have more space to myself. But the mean looks and jealous comments i got from fellow passengers made me stop doing that. You know Nigerians with their bad mouth.
I feel real sad for all those that lost their lives. How do we stop plane crashes from killing everybody on board ?. There is no comfort in that irrespective of what the statistics say.If a bus is about to crash, i could jump off the widow. That's just the way i feel.

I smell corruption somewhere in this scheme. Somebody should prove to me that they actually got N5m each. Yes on paper. But no more than N2m would actually be paid out. That is how most public funds embezzlement are carried out these days.

Politics › Re: So They Never Really Loved MKO by Chinom(m): 3:21pm On May 30, 2012
Great or not, philanthropist ot not MKO does not deserve to have Unilag named after him. It's like asking Igbos to accept renaming UNN to Orji Uzor Kalu university. He is a philanthropist too. And they both stole our money conniving with the military men. UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS IT SHOULD BE.period.
Politics › Re: Victor Olisa: First Black Commander Of London Police by Chinom(m): 1:00pm On May 29, 2012
Piyke: I do congratulate him its no easy feat.

However the way we celebrate these kind of achievements raises a bugging question in my mind; does it come from an unconscious mindset that these people(whites) are better than us? It wouldn't be news to celebrate if a Briton got a top post in Nigeria. So why should we really celebrate?
I will throw the question back to you. Why would Nigerian/ African parents go to any length to make sure that their kids born in the UK or USA obtain a Britsh or American Passport ?. NO BRITISH OR AMERICAN CHILD BORN IN NIGERIA APPLIES FOR A NIGERIAN PASSPORT. The Singer Nathalie Imbruglia was born in Nigeria. Does she carry a Naija passport ?. NO. My friend accept the reality and move on.Those questions you posed are just politically correct questions, but utterly meaningless and unrealistic. We have a loooong way to go.
Education › Re: UNILAG Renamed 'Moshood Abiola University' by Chinom(m): 12:44pm On May 29, 2012
Now, they've made the name of the University sound like MKO himself. I could never understand him when he speaks. I mean MKO was probabaly educated but he mumbled when he spoke. If he had succeeded in being the president, he would have been our own "George Bush". He was so incoherent in his speaches. He does not deserve an institution of higher learning named after him.

This sucks.. I just don't like it. University of Lagos says a lot instead of that jaw breaking name. In as much as i love Ojukwu, i don't want UNN named after him. He should get the Enugu International Airport.Sorry.. Akanu Ibiam.

I though Ogun state has a university. That should be named after MKO. Leave UNILAG alone.

Lagusta: sorry bros, but u nd i kno dat its not possible, not in this country.

Someone said GEJ is on the right track, i seriously dont agree. Nothing will cost him to decentralise the power sector, then privatize it, just like what OBJ did to NITEL....

[quote author=Lagusta]Under which rock do you live in ?. Is'nt that exactly what GEJ is planning to do. PRIVATIZE PHCN. The Road map to stable power supply is anchored on privatisation.
Romance › Re: Do Nigerian Ladies Abroad Find It More Difficult To Find Husbands? by Chinom(m): 4:13pm On May 28, 2012
AfricaFace: this is the dumbest questions i have seen in teh last 2 decades of my life. Career progression and fear of seeing a husband.
don't worry, turn down the job, marry mr Nigeria , stay idle and be a complete house wife, then you would know which is prior.
Who the fc*uk do you think you are to tell her what her priorities should be?. Career is more important to you ?! well good for you. For the woman, raising a family is more important. You are the type that end up as miserable old spinsters.
Celebrities › Re: P Square - Why We Bought Private Jet by Chinom(m): 3:32pm On May 28, 2012
I wonder why most forumites thought the did not buy a jet. Who says you must buy a new one. Most domestic airlines in Nigeria use fairly used planes. P Square could have struck a good bargain with the Arab guys. They're IGBO boys afterall.

ifihearam: Foolish people will still put the blame on GEJ
This man inherited problems from 1960.

@op
Nigeria is a failed state in no particular order of the former presidents
I still believe that the only panacea to steady power supply is to first ban the importation of generator sets.
It will surprise you to know that our top leaders are major shareholders in these generator manufactring companies like Mukano.
You're very right, bro. The fools that blame GEJ for the problems of Nigeria are just being mischievious. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of IBB, OBJ and Shagari. They had the best opportunity to solve most of our problems. Jonathan is on the right track. I believe he, Barth Nnaji, Okonjo-Iweala and Alison Madueke will give us power to a reasonable level. They need another 4 years too. So GEJ must run in 2015. IBB and OBJ deserve to be strangled.

Celebrities › Re: Pictures Of PSquare's Private Jet by Chinom(m): 5:12pm On May 24, 2012
I'm not here to dispute whether they bought the jet or not. But i can tell you now that if they bought that jet, it's not going to be for personal use only. No Igbo boy will waste money just like that. Besides they have an older brother who oversees the business angle. If they put that jet on lease or charter,Lagos to Enugu, Lagos - Owerri, Lagos-Asaba and Lagos - Abuja, they will never lack customers. Knowing my Igbo people, they will have it fully booked all year round especially if they make the fees affordable.
I would charter it for like N100 or N150k to Enugu. From the pic,it's a small jet.

Business › Re: Advice On Haullage Biz by Chinom(m): 12:49pm On May 19, 2012
payless: I have just replied to one haulage business agent on this forum about the same business you want to venture into. I spoke to the guy with user name lolostic and he was unable to convince me. I have not seen a single person who invested in the business to tell me about their experience. Currently, I have a cargo van to give the guy just to test him. If he is truly going to deliever what he has promised to deliever, then I will go ahead in six month's time and buy a flat bed and give it to him.
Dealing with the guy 'lolostic" is very risky. I met him personally in lagos last month to discuss the Haulage biz.I can tell you that he is so unreliable that he could'nt even keep to appointments. He is a confused young man looking for what to do. I then did some research of my own, went directly to some manufacturers. The business can be quite lucrative if managed properly. Hence i have decided to go to Lagos next year or even earlier to handle it myself. I would advice you and "forster" to give me sometime to actually kick off. Afterwards, you can send your trucks to me to manage. Having lived abroad for a long time, i understand your situations. So whatever we agree on is what you will get. you can drop your mail addresses at chinomnazu@yahoo.com. I will contact you lot when 'the business kicks off.
Food › Re: GEJ Now Eats Abakaliki/Ofada Rice & Cassava Bread - Min. Maku by Chinom(m): 1:17pm On May 18, 2012
Don't be fooled by this. That Ofada rice costs more than the imported rice. I got a rude shock when i ordered it at a restaurant in lagos. The difference with the imported rice was almost N200. So it's by no means cheap. Being the President he can afford it. If he wants the average Nigerian to petronize the Abakaliki rice farmers,he should subsidize them a lot more to reduce the price.
Properties › Re: Why Do Most Nigerians Abroad Remain Tenants When They Are Back Home? by Chinom(m): 1:01pm On May 18, 2012
First of all the poster is just looking to sell more properties. He is an agent. Here is my advice; If you do not intend to relocate to Naija permenently, do not build any house. Stay in hotels or just rent a mini-flat. If you intend to build, then pack all the money in the bank, wait till you're able to return to Nigeria and then start construction while being physically there. Building a house by proxy in Nigeria is a very risky business.
