Th second African player taking wild swings at a ball... The first one from Cameroon got away with it but not our girl; it looked really bad on replay and it is also dangerous and very painful connection to the shin. Nja needs to go for it one way or the other - as long as they dont concede 13 goal they should be fine |
Simeone was a world class defender and now a coach and an Argentine... His analysis is absolutely spot on! This is one of the reasons why Messi has not been able to win a major trophy with his country; he tries really hard but sometimes he just does not have enough when things are not going for his team. Messi has actually improved in the last 5 years or so; and he could have won the World Cup for Argentina but he did not have the something that Ronaldo and Maradona has to drive his team to glory. Messi can also win a match on his own and regularly does what Ronaldo does but he plays for Barcelona... And that is the biggest difference so far with Messi and his achievements. Even if he takes on a whole defence and scores a wonder goal; the defenders cannot simply just gang up on him because you have so many other attacking players in Barcelona. Since, Suarez (and departed Neymar) came to Barcelona, Messi has surpassed even his own previous greatness. Because the attacjking options at Barcelona is phenomenal; so his the midfield and the attacking and scoring left and right backs. Ronaldo has played for teams where the embarrassment of attacking players is not as rich as Barcelona. Even when he was at Madrid, some of the players blew hot and cold... For Portugal, he has played with some very good players at a young age and his exploits at United was not with Peak United. Ronaldo is not as gifted or talented as Messi but he has bigger balls and a lot more flexible and rarely goes missing... |
What is this about Igbos will do this or not this? Tonto is toxic and that is the only reason why she might struggle to find a lasting relationship or what people might term; a husband. She does not need to get married ever to affirm her relationship - that is so past... She can still settle down with a man or woman if she is ready to tone things down a bit or live away from the limelight. People said she is hurting and is well within her rights to rant and to give evidence. What is the point of it all at the end of the day? She is not poor and she only has one child to look after; so why even bother with the ex? What does she want from him? She got scammed but with this sort of scam, the victim is very much complicit... So the husband is not who he claims to be and he does wrong things and so on and so on. However, he has not been going around lately slagging her off - even the interview that he was supposed to have given was years back... She does not deserve a boyfriend at this moment; so talking about which tribe she can marry into is irrelevant. She is irrelevant. The language is so bad that she cannot recover from all these - she recently cursed the chairman of the actor's guild and then made reference to Nollywood women going to Dubai to have shit poured into the mouths by rich guys. That is so whack. The whole scene is just so bad for Nja and the youths or anyone hailing these people. An 20 year-old actress who can make her own money and too young to marry, marries an old billionaire with other wives? And her mum and family are supportive of such nonsense - money money and money; that is what it is all about! |
Wiseandtrue:Absolutely right! This is not the job of a VP... Not even the minister of finance or business secretary (if we have one). Rural Development or some other minister without porfolio can easily do this. And it should now be done with local commissioner or permanent secretaries |
Odogu9195:Thanks. The applicant will be applying somewhere close to Lagos and will sit the examination in Lagos. So which Bank did you use and how much was the bank fee. . What was the whole process like. Cheers Wow! The UK embassy is that accessible in Abuja... From what I remember, the one in VI Lagos is a nightmare. |
rafindo:Abeokuta people are barawos! They like bribe too much and they also claim there is a shortage of everything; people's passport applications are languishing in that place - they will squeeze you dry... And then also delay you... I dont know about Oshogbo but i'll try them first if i were you |
IELTS Life Skills A Test (British) - How to pay the fee? Please, does anyone here know how to pay for British Council IELTS Life Skills A Test in Nigeria? It says that it has to be done strictly OFFLINE and by a Bank Draft from certain banks... It appears the additional charges by these banks is close #25,000 Making the test about #100,000.Has anyone done the Test recently? Can you please enlighten. Thanks. *It is not for myself but any helpful information is most welcome. Cheers |
Nokio1:If only it were that simple - where is the going back in coming from? funny |
We played cricket when I was at school - an Oyinbo established school with boarding houses: Carr, Powell, Swanston, Green and Field houses. Every year, old boys come back to play with the current crop of talents. Cricket is not cheap to play - Bats, Whites and vest and Jumper, Box (to cover nether area), pads to protect Shins and Ankles and Arm Guards too. Wicket Keeper own even more because of the danger of standing behind the stumps (3 wooden batten stuck into the ground with bales on top). Nowadays, every player wear Helmets not just wicket keeper to protect from being knocked on the head by the ball from either bowlers or batters or ricochets... Cricket is almost like Baseball or Rounders but a little more complex in the set up and the actual play and many small rules. Essential one person bowls (or pitches) the ball to a batter and the batter tries to knock the ball away so that he can run between the wickets (the area around the 3 stumps mentioned above). You can only run 4 times across but if you knock the ball over the boundary; you dont even have to run self - you get 4 runs automatically. If you knock the ball clean over the rope boundary, you get a maximum of 6 runs. You can also collect 5 runs if the bowlers bowls you a no-ball and many other things can also happen... If you are stumped (that the bales are knocked off) then you are out and will have to to go and sit down and let another batter come in to carry on until all the players - 10 out of 11 are out. if while running, a fielder throws that ball and knock your bales off before you get to the wicket (area) then you are also out. If you bat and someone catches your hit clean, you are also out. If you knock off your own bales, then you are out. If you swipe away a ball that is going to your stumps with your hands - you are also out. A double hit - you are out. If the ball hits your leg in front of the stumps (3 sticks); you can also be out if not especially if not playing a shot and so on. When the first team have finished batting the total runs are recorded and the second team can start batting instead of bowling. The team not batting is said to be Fielding along with the wicket keeper; they spread out all over the field to catch the ball or save runs being scored or try to hit the stump to get a run-out. 3 main types of Cricket events: 20/20 means only 20 overs are bowls by each team - so this is a quicker and shorter version of the game. All batters do not have to be out before the 20 overs but total runs is what counts 50-overs one day game: As the above but 50 overs are bowled by each side Test Cricket - usually scheduled for 5 days; In this version the two teams have 2 innings - they bat and bowl twice to decide the winner. However, sometimes there are no winners due to time running out and one team not being able to get the batters of the other team out (twice). * An Over is 6 ball bowled to the batting team. So in a 20/20 match - 20x6 balls is scheduled to be bowled; the first team will certainly bowl 120 balls but the other team might match the runs before second team has faced 120 balls. In the event of a tie - they ball a Super Over - 1 over each to decide.. |
He did not even put that much effort into the pen! Why so careless and so straight? I am so disappointed. Kane does not mess about - the keeper has to be extremely lucky to save Kane's pen or if he misses the goal entirely. Does Arsenal even have a proper striker - Ozil could have been more deceptive but lackadaisical too |
kowalsky:He is certainly not world class and do not always feel someone with confidence... His ball control and passing is also suspect |
How do you miss a last minute penalty. Always go down the middle and a little high. How can he miss - just like Berkhamp many many moons ago. I am devastated! How come people rarely doubt Harry Kane when he takes penalties - but Pierre just messed up; no bottle! |
Caballero used to be City goalkeeper so he might have a better knowledge of the penalty takers... But I blame the referee and Sarri too - they should just tell him to go; simple! |
Give him an caution and let him go. If he is caught next time then he can be charged and fined. |
enemyofprogress:The man is really lifeless; poor soul. Why is he putting himself through this? No be by force to be President or be the puppet of the Cabal... |
Aso Ebi and Souvenir are a stupid idea. Period! |
This is simply bribery and electioneering. It should never be allowed. What a country? You cannot even give people pie in the UK - you will be censured and possibly fine and worse disqualified. And this is the party that is against corruption. They are all corrupt! Shame shame shame!!! |
Jonny Evans - Ex-United player... It is well! Who is parking the bus now? |

You captured your sentiment all the way. No automatic second term for any politician... And Atiku is saying the right things - so we can only give him a chance for 4 years and if not then it is time for youth... Buhari's rule has been totally divisive and there is a danger it might get worse and irreversible with a second term. Boko Haram, IPOB, Fulani herdmen, religous bigotry from Pentecostals and Muslims, Tribalism, Military uprising, Militants uprising especially in the East and extreme poverty. Chasing shadows of corrupt people while raising the hand of the one person that was caught bang to rights show the hypocrisy of the anti-graft of Buhari government. Amnesty for corrupt people that decides to give up the loot and make EFCC independent of government, same with our judicial system and central bank to a large extent. It is more than chasing corrupt politicians and some large projects in APC regions or states - we need more! |
Melian:That is better. Raising another man's child is not easy - believe me; it is even harder when the child does not have any contact with her biological father, that question tends to come up time and time again. Being divorced and being a single-mother is not always idea but one can still do it without too much enmity. Children should not be used as a weapon. |
Ok o. You win! LOL. * BTW, the woman moving on just like that without the man can also have repercussions for the child especially a female child in Nja. I think you women should also keep the man on side because you never know when you will need them. Fast forward to a new relationship - many questions about where the dad of a her child is, who is going to give consent for this and that. You might need to prove full parental responsibility and so on. Everything in a relationship takes two |
Melian:Stopping using terms like 'bleep' because you make it sound like she was being taken against her will. Do women not enjoy casual sex? Does it have to be love all the time? Come on! What are you saying here? He might even have loved her at some point and falling out of love and it works both ways. Some women get married and soon regret it - despite all the mutual bleeping and the bride price and the rest... I will not advice my sister to stay in an unhappy marriage if she has tried to work it out and could not bear it. I find you kinda of funny because I have lived a sheltered life and have never met anyone that thinks like that... |
Melian:Great! The women do not have to zip up - they can just lie there and get pregnant for anyone. if this man was so bad, why did she want to marry him? Another thing is that we do not know exactly what the woman is thinking or feeling - we are just taking sides and labelling and generalising. Someone said the man wants to use the child as a tool? How is that? It is actually easier to be single-mother than an absent father trying to carry on in a man's world (it is for all its fault) and yet try his best for his absent children. There is nothing more emasculating than being a caring and loving absent father; especially one that has to bend to all the whims of his ex without being able to make contradicting decisions - he just has to take things easy all the time. |
Melian:The sperm donor part is way off - OMG! If he truly moves on without a second thought about the child, people will say he is irresponsible. At least, he is trying to contribute. Like I said, small mistakes can easily escalate into big issues and in fact, the small mistake might also be just an excuse. The OP thinks he is acting as a father and making decisions when he is not in the position to make those decisions. The funny thing is that if he were married to the lady, she will probably have accepted that the child goes to school in September and the father's family will be making decisions too. We men learn the hard way sometimes but it is not always about Ego... Why is the child starting school in April? Is it about child care issues or the mother think that it is better to start really early. I would have questioned that decision too as a father even if it is not based on money. * I think we are fixated too much about classroom learning and going to school in Nja - children are bundled off to school in uniforms at the age of 2+ in Nja. Does that make us better educated than the Scandinavians that start after 5 or 6? I dont get Nigerian to be honest but this is a universal problem all over the world. Both parties should zip up if they do not want unplanned pregnancies. And marrying someone you do not love just because that person got pregnant is not the solution. |
Melian:This is why the poster said the woman banging on about impregnating a woman is so in the past. Women can also put themselves in the Baby Mama position - some even steal sperms... It takes two when it comes to sex - was she forced? Could she have used the pill or insist on a condom. Whether the man was going to marry her or not is not that relevant: she got an unplanned pregnancy. I think marriage between the two is now too late - he does not love her and she is independent and strong enough (apparently) to be a single mother. Welcome to the 21 century! |
realtalk19:There is no real evidence that the OP does not want to be responsible for the child... of course, he has made mistakes not the part about getting the woman pregnant because that takes two to tango. * The OP is in a real pickle because the woman does not even need his money; I will also doubt she wants to marry him - perhaps? Nja and marriages as if that is all it takes to have a happy home or happy family - even a separated one... He does not need to stress about birth certificate to set up a 'trust fund' - he can just open and account and not touch the money until the child is 18 or independent or wants to relate to him as child and parent. I will advice him to move on and see whether the woman can come round or otherwise just move on; however, he can still try to communicate in whatever way he wants through third parties if need be. Access to the child is good but it has to be agreed and going to court and having forced access is not going to be beneficial to either party and the child. Women have main access and they can frustrate easily and the man might not even be able to make all access, so he will be labelled as irresponsible. Just move on! If she wants to marry you or want you in her life, she might come back and you can then negotiate otherwise, it is what it is. You cannot win against a woman when it comes to children. |
So she blowing air to enable firewood to burn properly but why so far away and prostrate. She is washing a car - but climbed on top of bonnet to wash windscreen and what the hell is she doing on top of the water tank and what is it with the funnel? The lady is doing mostly normal things that my grandmother and others have done and most college women should be able to do if they wanted to do so. Having said all the above, I think the photoshoot is staged. Is it from a movie? And do I see her wearing false eyelashes? Wait till you get her home - they change very quickly. I know and have the experience. Broke girls and seemingly hard working and single struggling mothers can change in a blink of a eye if a guy with money comes along - so so disappointing... |
Angelfrost:He was doing it because his players were not showing him anything to help him unleash them. The players were making too many errors and were not working together. Even though Spurs lost to a lucky goal or even a goalkeeping mistake; they rarely play in a different way and always create lots of chances. So it was down to the players to express and take their chances. Rashford was missing a few too many one-on-ones; was that Mourinho's fault. The players also could not be trusted after some time - vicious cycle. Good on Ole - nice easy job to have; for now! |
JimD:So it was Mourinho that was making Jones lose the ball and scoring own goals. Jones is there because Smalling is injured. And that defense today was all over the place. Spurs could have score 4 goals if not for De Gea. Lets have some perspective. Mourinho burnt his bridges and lost the players and board and everyone else but some of his players put him in that position too. Mo used to defend his players by taking all the blame at Chelsea - and it worked then. He also took most of the limelight but he has managed some outstanding players that will go on to be managers and pundits and football administrators... He is still a very successful manager - you cannot take that away |
Ole has probably finish the myth that is the modern day Mourinho. Mourinho's tactic worked very well for him in the past but started to his time at Real - too many stars and player power and social media has increased to disrupt the sort of managerial styles of Maureen and even Alex Ferguson. Even Fergie felt player power with Beckham and he never had too many outright star players - he had his home grown hungry and united players. Having said the above, today, Man United played a Mourinho style and were lucky to get the win; save for the goal keeper. The only different is that they showed more heart and grown out the result. Where is the fast flowing attacking play they accuse Mourinho of not having. The players did not show enough to Maureen to allow them to have a free reign on the pitch. Mo squeezes team and then allow his player to unleash - not unleash them and then try to hold on like today. |
Empowerment gifts/ Is that not called bribe or buying voters... Philanthropists and the Government or Charities can give empowerment gifts all year round but during a election campaign, it should be outlawed. Thugs! What do we expect from APC especially as the incumbent and PDP? They have all the apparatus and the stolen money to employ political thugs. Smaller parties are just too vulnerable in a zoo of a country. We should move to a Prime Ministerial system with proportional representation... |
