Please who knows the full meaning of the abbreviation "PSP"? I pay for it, know what it's about, but don't know what it stands for. Any one? |
Hello, Gazzuzz. Want to know if "drive shaft" means same thing as "ball joint". Are both the same as "front arm"? I should shoot the inventors of all these names... |
Nice thread! Went back and forth, reading. Came out of ghostmode, too. I laughed reading about tthe radio preferring harmattan. Have had only 1 issue with my '01,V6 6loader. A CD jammed. Removed the radio myself(as Mr. Hotbody), removed the CD,but discovered it wouldn't descend. Tht's when I gave it out for repair. Cost me 3k, got it back and reinstalled myself. *Always remember to wait for the invitation to load. Tell front passenger to hold-on when it's busy. |
kayusbrown:Hello, fellow Engineer. The World Bank needed a skilled Administrator and got one. Strategic Planning won't have enlargement goals, but admin and consolidation. Maybe World Bank had financial sleaze to take care of? I think Nigeria also needs strategic increment planning in power generation within the next 4years. Lapses in rail transport vs. its management and administration are now apparent decades later. Fashola, Kim are excellent administrators, but timing and purpose for Fashola isn't exactly same as Kim. I think even Kim wouldn't be able to change the World Bank's strategic plan. |
I think an Engineer will be better suited for the Power,Works and Housing Ministry because: 1. There is greater chance of advancement with knowledge, then experience, then administration. Fashola as Governor of Lagos had Commissioners, Advisers and a knowledgeable community. As Commissioner for Works under Tinubu, look and see what was achieved. He has only proven an administrative skill, combined with good advice. I believe that an Engineer's mind on the Nigerian problems on Power,Works and Housing will do better than a skilled administrator's mind, advice and motivation being equal. 2. In a long list of "misfits", correctness will be judged by closeness to fitness. If 6 Engineers, 3 Architects and 2 Lawyers are each to head an Engineering department, more is expected of the Engineers than either of the other two professions. With poor administration, either of the other two stand a better chance in successful implementation. Charting a course, though, must require Engineering input. 3. Technically, cross-over knowledge can be acquired...but this only, in reality, makes the learner an Engineer; skipped trainings might become important and such loss might be costly. |
For every completed structurally-defective unit, the LASBA should be prosecuted. That marking on the 8th of March shows the timeliness of inspection at that stage of completion. |
@okija In the case of SCOAN, the permit given was for fewer floors. If the government didn't oversee/ inspect, why be so bold as to take SCOAN to court? @Makwee/ Tex The first rainsof the year brought down a 5-storey. Another 5-storey was brought down by sound waves/ vibration(?). Something about foundations not distributing or carrying the load should be suspected, shouldn't it? |
I have done that. Report says P0132- Heated O2 sensor bank 1 Just that. Do the symptoms match? I am told it's over 20k. Why the cable-like thing cost like that, na? |
Hello Gazzuzz, It's conn-kg. Just bought 4pcs 1litre 5W-20 engine oil from you last week, remember? I have a problem. My '02 Honda Accord V6 jerks sometimes - noticeably, more like the fuel's spurting. In these occasions, the idle isn't up to "1" on the tacho and the engine actually dies off in motion. I noticed that stopping, removing, re-inserting the key and restarting helps. It behaves normally right after. *The car has not been driven in 3months and was been on the road for just 1week. Is this dirt? I have disconnected adn removed the after-market remote/ security, chcked the fuse of the fuel pump and am presently out of ideas. My mechanic says to run the car at full speed along a highway to burn off. I dont have the fuel or the time. Please, what do you recommend? |
So, was it demolished at night in Christmas season? |
I've read a lot here. An armed security operative has a number of minutes to identify and classify a threat. The operative is on an operation, authorising him to be armed. Tinted car windows now require a license. If operatives can identify a fake service uniform from a distance, great. If not, questioning and code-words follow. The hijab/niqab can delay identification. If the nun's robe is the preferred choice, let it be standard, sewn close to body, so operatives can classify a possible IED threat. If there are suggestions, let muslims state. |
Tell him you'll speak to the Pastor about it. After that, you may involve parents. I'm hoping here that your Pastor has enough knowledge and experience to fit the role of a Christian Psychologist. Your husband seems to be young (under 30?) and you both seem to have unresolved emotional issues with suspicion, his experience, your inexperience and the pregnancy, as relates personal Christianity. Salvation from sin is missing here. Doesn't concern the pregnancy (consequence). There's an openness only a freedom brings. Not sure you have it (my opinion from your write-up), but he definitely does not. |
OP, so there are "soft offences"? Continue. |
Can you stock-up on Honda Accord ball joints, bushings and stabilisers in your next consignment? We're on this thread, too! |
Please post engine and dashboard pictures. Is the "Check Engine" light on? What is the mileage? I will scan. Do you mind? 450? |
Please post engine and dashboard pictures. What is the mileage? Is the "Check Engine" light on? Has the car been scanned recently? Any sound at full cut of steering? 450? |
Ofonime Ikpe is not Igbo. It is even likely that only one in five is Igbo. Congrats to the manufacturer for amateur sleuthing. He did help the police to save his (hardworking) business. Knowledge grows shallow where tribalism holds sway. My sympathies. |
Funny, felt odd speaking Onitsha in Umuahia earlier this month. I couldn't make the mild, dialectical differences at the last minute. I'm also surprised to see "Chiwude"! It's spelt "Chude" in Onitsha! |
@lookingbuoy: Are you done? I do not think you have educated the Nigerian youth enough. The biggest player in the Nigerian economy might not be paying so well anymore - not even the NNPC. At lower levels, crew and hands have been on standby for long months. Insightful, but please, do continue...especially with the mid- and downstream |
I have always proposed the same sentence for females for false accusation. It is almost never pursued and most females do not admit to how easy it is to falsely accuse a man. In most cases, all a girl has to do is tear her clothing, scream or inflict an injury on herself to, most times, permanently damage a man's reputation or worse. Cases of false accusation are also often presented as rape cases, so I will assume that the increased reportage of rape cases also include more cases of false accusation. Women need to be made more aware of the seriousness of any rape claim and the inherent difficulty of proving the happening was not consensual. |
Onye ga-amuta ife n'ine a? Fa na-ekuzi a na mahadum? |
@Ihuoma: I think Odenigbo meant the Nri migration, not an emigration from Anambra @Odenigbo: I am from Onitsha, but had to ask the meaning of your moniker in another thread remember? @topic: I think great men/ mentors have fuelled existing stereotypes, such as N.Azikiwe(Anambra),J.T.U Ironsi(Abia),S.Mbakwe and a million civil servants in Enugu. I might be wrong, but aside the effect of stereotypes in "inspiring" a younger generation to acts brave or reckless, anyone could be anything. Ihuoma believes Imo women are special; Odenigbo believes his identity is special...and they both can be anything-right or wrong! In this case, Azi akaro iwe. Gidigidi bu Ugwu Eze. |
Thanks, Nri Priest. @Magkhan, please can we chat? I think we have/had a mutual friend. |
Chukwudebe (Chude)...God kept; Nnaemeka...God has done well; Beluolisa (Bosa)...My cry/prayer to God What were the circumstances of the birth? What were your requests to God at the time? Odenigbo, please could you explain "Ife sika ngo..."? The meaning isn't clear to me. I'm not sure I correctly interpreted each name on your list. |
It took some time before I decided to write. I would like to state that only females know when a relationship starts and that there is great difficulty in gettinga female accept that a rape claim is false. As an undergraduate, I recall my HOD telling the course rep to ask two ladies to stop visiting. The ladies were not in class. When they came in after the lecture, what the class heard was, "when he took us to the hotel, he didn't know?"... I propose that ladies whose claim is false be given the same sentence as rape. Even Joseph's mother would have had a hard time believing her son against Portiphar's wife; much less in the light of "evidence". The average female undergraduate will never reveal the trips to Staff Clubs or other places. The accusation seems true, but womenfolk will do well to note that it is relatively too easy to tarnish a man's image. |
Clearly, the following aren't clear: 1. "Eze Ndigbo" is head of Igbos in that area. The article made "Eze" a head of people in Lagos 2. Ndigbo do not have unitary kings. There is no "Oduduwa" or Sultan, Ooni. They are republican 3. The Oba addressed Ndigbo, not Yoruba -who could understand his mannerisms 4. The Igbo are in Lagos for commerce. Lagos held the only sea and air ports in the entire Southern Nigeria. The comments on "support" given is undefined. They are not in the civil service. Ibadan had the first University by proximity. 5. The Oba may have had issues with "no man's land" and all, but he made this comment on a political stance. It involved a group. It involved death in days, whether possible or not. In other people's culture, that was not a joke. Recommendation: it is the people who should be reached directly. The Ndigbo do not have a unitary ruler, so, not even those invited, who heard it first-hand can help. Someone, perhaps a South-eastern 1st class chief. Urgently, before the people crown a "leader" for this task. |
Is this NOT a ploy to get people to vote PDP? |
Looking forward to this story getting interestingly supernatural soon. Quarrels should cease. Bans await offenders. Royver? Carry on! (na GOD win...APC or PDP)! |
Bontee and others, The foundation of Unity Schools was based on the assumption of locality and geographical spread. There is no longer the need for the assumption that a child of Southern parents who schooled in the North should have a cut-off different from the rest of his/her schoolmates, when the same environmental factors or lack of teachers affected them both equally. The child should no longer be assessed based on State of Origin. Nigeria is now more cosmopolitan than that assumption. |
It does appear that there was an earlier topic, which was poorly admitted. It was reviewed to the current original post, making some comments irrelevant or poorly construed. Mod, that action deliberately misaligned the thread, derailing it and inserting tribalism. |
Thank you. Will search for an encryption software. |
Hello, I left my HP 630, Windows 7 laptop on the floor of the front passenger seat of my car, which was broken into and the laptop taken. I was its only User and Admin. I also used a password. I'm a little knowledgeable, so had installed "Prey". Thing is, it has to boot fully before "Prey" 'rocks'. What are the perp's alternatives? Can start-up passwords be bypassed? I'd hoped to be able to recover it by now, almost three months later... |
