Validated:Arrant nonsense! Who trusts Peter Obi? Oga, before you start kidding yourself, let me tell you that I am from Anambra. Most of the roads Peter Obi constructed as governor are no longer motorable today. |
Max24:You are very correct! He performed abysmally as governor of my state. It is shameful how people who know next to nothing about Anambra are praising someone who was a total mishap. |
123yes:Please, say what you know, Bianca isn't 60 yet. |
Olu1000:Believe it or not, Obi messed things up for Atiku. Any good student of Nigerian politics will easily concede that. What Peter Obi / Labour Party got as votes were traditional PDP votes. A clear example is the votes from the Southeast. The person you quoted wasn't talking of right or lack of it, to contest. Atiku, obviously, stood a better chance in 2023 than in 2019. In 2019, Atiku was up against both an incumbent president and the ruling party. The scenario was slightly different in 2023. |
eepeepook:Bros, one wife is way more problematic. The man is not in a state to be pitied. |
helinues:Did you comprehend what you read at all? Invite Bwala for what? You matter sef! |
As sad as this situation is, we must acknowledge that, not even the most preliminary of safety measures were employed in executing the boat trip(s). Not even life jackets were provided and enforced. This calls for alot of questions for the Jetty Management, Marine Security, Anambra State Ministry of Transportation, and by extension, the Anambra State Government. We must wake up to responsibilities. There has to be standards and strict regulations set, and dutifully enforced. We can't continue to allow these kinds of negligence to occur. I worked in the coastal area of Bonny Island for many years, where the water body is way massive. I recall Navy operatives inspecting each boat taking off and berthing, to ensure that passengers had their life jackets on, and also that the boats were not overloaded. This is not to say the boat mishaps do not occur in Bonny Island, and other coastal areas, but the situation has greatly improved. We are all aware that accidents of this nature are bound to happen, irrespective of measures. However, seeing this situation where hard working, young people are being, carelessly, conveyed across such river without life jackets is saddening. It doesn't make us come off as a people that attach any form of value to human life. It reminds me of Wigwe's death. The negligence of not cancelling the flight despite the glaring terrible weather, caused avoidable deaths. |
LuQuLuQu:To a large extent, yes. |
[quote author=9jatriot post=129369512]In fairness to Obi, I am not sure but I do not think Obi called or can call this his project a borehole project. At best we can say he donated a 1,200 litre tank to them. Look at that tank very well, it does not have an inlet pipe that can suggest that there is a borehole nearby, so I want to believe it is a tank that a water tanker will have to supply water to. The one he donated in Sokoto is a lot better. The real reason people are not overlooking this is because his mob tries to present him as a saint and he himself is always quick to criticize even when he does not have all the facts. People are just paying him back with his own coins especially as he played into their hands by himself. Anyway, his gesture even though we all know it is for politics is appreciated. Any gift no matter how small must be appreciated, but someone like Obi should not be anywhere close to power. People like him slow down.) I am from Anambra State. And I am very impressed by what you said. My problem with Obi has always been around his penchant for needless criticisms, poor quality projects and insincerity. A good number of roads constructed under his administration are now overdue for reconstruction, in just less than 15 years. I am not talking about rehabilitation. He is not known to have the capacity to assemble a strong team of individuals with the drive for excellence and qualitative results. This attribute put him apart from Tinubu. You are as good as your close team. Your team is you. Where are the Obi ambassadors, I am talking about those that served under him, in Anambra. Where are they in national reckoning and politics? What are their accomplishments? We know Tinubu's team of Lai Mohammed, Tunde Fashola, Yemi Osinbajo and many others. As for the borehole project he donated, I think it is commendable, albeit lack lustre, for an individual his stature. |
Roger3D:That statement underscored his ignorance of Rivers politics. It was the Supreme court that removed Omehia to make way for Amaechi. |
immortalcrown:So, why isolate the Church? That is enough evidence. |
dreji:What is the truth about the nonsense he said? How are we all prisoners? I am not a prisoner. |
immortalcrown:You said so by exempting the Church. |
clarocuzioo:The tribal colouration you introduced trivialized everything that you said. First, no one has said that we Igbos can't produce the next president. That's a satanic lie! You need to win election to rule Nigeria. Which Igbo man won election and was denied? Any right thinking Igbo man should know that the current state of political relationships among the Igbos, Hausas and Yorubas, is not sufficient to deliver an Igbo presidency. Dave Umahi, Chris Ngige, Ogbonnaya Onu etc, understand this perfectly. Peter Obi does not. Though I am Igbo, I was born and raised in the North. I can tell you this for free. Also, Dave is doing great but has not done anything significantly comparable to what Fashola did. Dave may outdo Fashola tomorrow, but he is not anywhere close yet. Fash delivered the Second Niger Bridge after decades of back and forth. What about the Bonny-Bodo Road project and bridges. Fash significantly progressed works on the Enugu-Awka-Onitsha, Port Harcourt-Okigwe-Umuahia-Enugu Highways and several other highways across the country. Travel times have been substantially reduced on these highways. Abeg, e never reach where we go compare Baba Fash with Dave. There is no basis at all. |
Lavor234:Your comment reeks of insensitivity, immaturity and shallowness. Did you even read what the lawmaker was complaining about? Just like paying for a Prado and someone is delivering a Corolla, and belatedly too. Should we make everything about tribes in this country? Did he not pay for the service he desired? Air Peace has been misbehaving and acting unprofessionally for sometime now. How can someone pay for Business Class and you unilaterally move them to Economy Class without a single explanation? My friend, I do not like to disrespect people, but such from you deserves a disrespectful reaction. |
immortalcrown:Nothing makes Church marriage different. All kinds of marriages are exposed to troubles and spousal violence. Christian couples no dey kill each other? |
Porksupplyib:The exact same sermon I was talking about. I was emphatic about the if they no longer 'see eye to eye'. Who is talking about an issue free marriage or compatibility? |
immortalcrown:Whether Church, Mosque, Shrine or Traditional wedding, once couples can no longer 'see eye to eye', everyone should find their way. No need for all these long talks and sermons. It is all these unnecessary long talks that have led many their their early graves. |
AcuraZDX:If him like make e go mosque. E no concern me. |
advanceDNA:God is indeed wonderful! You dey mind them! In the same Bible that they read, Jacob married two sisters, Rachel and Leah. I no dey talk of Abraham, David or Solomon o. |
Cyjetty:Obi and Soludo can be said to be of almost the same height. Obi isn't as tall as you are making him out to be. Both Soludo and Obi aren't up to 6ft tall. |
Cyjetty:Obi and Soludo can be said to have almost the same height. Obi isn't as tall as you are making him out to be. Both Soludo and Obi aren't up to 6ft tall. |
CandidAdmin:Always never true. |
Jeon:Story!!! If you like kill yourself for a woman, the story is hardly far from being different. Their kind of wickedness is still unknown to humanity. |
Ofunaofu:Mere politics! How nice is it? 'They will relinquish'... Have they relinquished? Have they written to the Accountant General? Which accounts will receive the funds? How will the funds be used? Bet me, I know all the undersigned lawmakers face to face. You won't hear about this again. |
WhereMyLoud:Absolute nonsense! Obi should know about the attack on his party's National Youth Leader. He should know about it, and should have made a public statement. What sort of lame excuse are you making for him? |
Malroux:Mtchewwww. I am sure nobody died in his time as governor of Anambra State. |
Malroux:Akuko! This is pure lip-service and politicking. Just less than a week ago, I was at a popular hotel in Awka where I met, and then joined a company of people, which included one of the lawmakers that signed that communique. Nobody everything person dey talk. This communique na wash. It is designed to hoodwink gullible Anambrarians ahead of the governorship elections next year. Peter Obi hand dey for this communique. The LP lawmakers no fit think that this thing on their own. People wey be say na fashion parade dem dey come do for Assembly complex on days of sitting. One of them sef dey represent my Constituency. The guy no follow at all. Very low IQ. Na Peter Obi wave just help them. |
DamnnNiggarr:Wait, what is wrong with 'I had observed'? Lol... Here I was thinking, momentarily, that you could be correct... Like Obi, like his followers. Oga, there is nothing wrong with 'I had observed'. |
DamnnNiggarr:Na mistake jare.... This isn't an official press statement. You may want to defend him but you know what I am talking about very well. |
EtinosaDLaw:It is not correct. Jonathan did not do well as President. Buhari did better. Had Jonathan shored up Nigeria's foreign reserve, like other OPEC nations did during the oil windfall, we won't be in the mess we are in today Buhari delivered on the Second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway etc. He significantly improved the Enugu-Onitsha Highway, Enugu-Okigwe-Umuahia-Port Harcourt Highway, Bonny-Bodo Road, among others. He also did well in Agriculture, Economic Diversification and others. I won't talk about Obi because I am not sure if you are from Anambra. But I can tell you for free that Obi underperformed in Anambra. Most roads constructed under his administration are either impassable or completely washed away today. He made a total mess of the LGA system in Anambra and promoted Catholicism and religious politics in the State. |
DamnnNiggarr:This Obi sef... ....'for the huge loss'... .....'pay last respects'.... ....'to join other respected Nigerians to pay'.... Etc... Nawa o. This guy na correct third class material. Lol. His poor written English calls to question his, hitherto, widely-spread, sterling academic credentials. I had observed this for such a long time now, but I just say make I keep quiet dey observe am first. According to what I read to the effect that it was just his O-level that he submitted to INEC as his academic qualification, could there be something wrong somewhere? Because I don't understand this kind of written grammar he posts on social media often. |
