On Black Friday, I ordered a Syinix Blender from Jumia and it was delivered yesterday. During the process of receiving the delivery, the delivery man spoke to me about a recurring discuss I have been spoken to about for almost 3 years.
He said, while I was signing, God spoke to him that I should be a Pastor of sheeps in his vineyard.
This does not in anyway seem strange to my hears although,
1) He was a delivery man 2) He does not even know me
These two reasons made me confused and decided to ask Nairalanders
Can I refuse this call that has been on my head for about 3 years now?

Now I am not a petty kind of person. I am a man that does what has to be done to get result. I don't allow emotions dictate to me. I don't allow fear. Infact I don't fear people. I once worked with a politician Dr. Agunloye who was running for governorship in Ondo state and I did not take bull shit from him or his campaign directors when they were trying to give me bullshit. So I requested a private session with Pastor Charlse. I had my questions ready. All along the man thought I was a new convert, he never knew my story. We arranged a private session and I met him at the agreed time.
I told him my story and why I started attending his church. I confessed how I was losing my faith to him and the questions that weighed my heart. "Sir, what makes the bible true? What makes all what we believe true?"
He smiled with confidence and started preaching to me from the bible and giving me some personal experiences. I realized he had no answers. All he was doing was asking me to just believe the bible and pray. I have been praying, I have read the bible. Nothing new here.
The whole religion was obviously built around human selfishness. Just make sure you make heaven he said. Oh! It is not my business that God allows people he claims to love and that he created to suffer and die of hunger and diseases? It is not my business that the bible has so many contradictions and some insane evil things God did? It is not my business that God has been failing to heal people? It is not my business that Jesus died in Jerusalem while it would take hundreds or of years for the gospel that was supposed to be man's only hope to reach even nearby regions? Billions would have died without ever hearing the name jesus. And yet that is God's perfect plan to save humanity? How daft can this God be?
I left his office that day pretending to have accepted his answers to my question when I discovered it was hopeless trying to get straight answers from him.
I remember getting home and saying "Fvck God!" This was the first time I would ever say this. I repeated it over and over again. I have tried to swallow your bullshit. Enough is enough.
From the very first day I started reading the bible from Genesis, you never made sense, but I swallowed it all believing the Holy spirit was giving me understanding wereas it was my own mind that was formulating excuses on God's behalf. I remember clearly how I kept bumping from terrible to more terrible unexplainable things in the bible, yet I swallowed it all. Damn! I laughed at myself. Men! This thing is total mind control. Yeah! I was damn angry! Very angry. I have wasted 20+ years of my life not living but being a zombie. I still believed God existed, but I was sure the bible was damn fake! So I set on quest for the truth.
The answer lies not in studying other religions, the answer was in studying human history. How did it all start?

byvan03: Stop begging for apology, it makes the person less sorry and defensive. Is not easy for a lot of people to apologise and nagging won't make it happen. It is a gradual process, she will learn but you need to stop the nagging. You also can't tell her which ingredient to keep but you can insist on not wanting it in your meal. Next time , just leave the food for her if she adds it.
You are in a nice boat, don't rock it. People like her cannot respond to your orders and aggression, subtle hints and withdrawal pricks their conscience. One day she will apologise and mean it, the one you won't have to beg for. No one is perfect, we are all dented one way or the other.

Here are some of the most important things that new graduates must always do so as to be successful in their first job:
1. Learn to always ask questions.
The best way to learn is to ask questions, and the first few weeks and months present the perfect opportunity to do so. It’s completely natural that a new hire fresh out of university doesn't know everything. However, the only way they’ll fill those gaps is by asking. The reasons why new graduates tend not to ask questions include either worrying that they will look stupid, or simply being too arrogant to ask for help when they need it... but it's much better to bite the bullet now than to risk not knowing later down the line .
2. Always take care of yourself.
Failing to eat well, not doing any exercise and not getting enough sleep will not only have an effect on a young professional's health but will also reflect poorly on them in the office and their image will likely suffer, as will their performance. Since you are young and full of energy, it's likely that you are able to more stress, alcohol and less sleep. That fact becomes that as you grow older , all those things would start having effects on you.
3. Look at things from a larger context.

The symptoms of this include harassing other team members to deliver on the specific project, or disregarding broader organizational factors that may have an impact. Understanding the larger context will help you to get the support of other people and make sure that you are not blind to the environment in which you’re operating.
4. Always ask for feedback.
Another way of learning is to ask for feedback. Ideally the manager and possibly senior colleagues should be giving this to a new hire, but that may or may not be the case. They need to be taking responsibility for their own development, asking for feedback on an on-going basis and especially after a big presentation or project. Again, new hires are often either too confident about their own work to ask for feedback, or else ignorant of the fact that they’ll improve faster if they do so.
5. Learn to simplify things.
The simplest solutions are often the best, but new hires tend to get lost in the details. They try to incorporate every possible fact and cover all the different scenarios, producing long PowerPoint decks or paragraphs of text that merely confuse the audience. Learning to filter out the noise, to highlight the key points, and to put those points forward in a clear and succinct way is a skill that comes with experience. robedu: I graduated quite early and at 22 i already had an okay job, my education was miraculously funded with the little meaner jobs i was doing from house girl to sale's girl, typist etc.
So when i had a job, i decided to help my other siblings both younger and elder ones get qualitative education, for 4 years i work solely to pay their fees, i had no savings, so finally last year the last one standing graduated and i thought i was going to breath fresh air.
One came to stay with me, my immediate elder brother, after his NYSC he started job hunting and couldnt get any, he came to me to explain that he wants to go into photography, that he will use that to establish himself since there are no jobs coming forth, i went ahead to buy expensive photo camera, photo light, printers and all sort of photography stuff for him. weeks pass, months pass without him making any good out of the photography business, i keep on advising him and all.
But early this year when my car started having issues, i decided to change the car, when he saw that i wanted to buy a new car, he came to me to explain that the photography business is not moving, and that i should buy a car that will be accepted in Uber, so he can be driving the car for Uber transport at the weekends when i will not be using the car, initially the car i wanted to buy wasn't uber spec, i wanted to get Lexus 350 or Prius, but because of the way he pleaded with me, i decided to buy camry 2010 which was uber spec so he can use it.
After i got the car, i taught him how to drive and he started driving the car during the weekend, later he came to tell me he can be using the car in the afternoon when i am at work then he will drop me in the morning and pick me up in the evening. this was the hardest part, i couldnt bear not having a car to move around for lunch or client meetings in the afternoon, then he begged me that if i allow him use the car in the day, in 6 months he will make enough money to buy his own car and leave me alone.
So i agreed to allow him use the car in the afternoon, it was the toughest decision have made in my life, I could no longer go for lunch except with one of my colleagues, i had to hire other uber taxi for client meetings, i couldnt have my life like before, but the troubled part was the fact that my brother became arrogant, to even take me to work with my own car became so difficult, he will hurry me to do quick let him drop me else he is going to leave me at home, he doesnt come to pick me anymore from work, i remember the day i had to wait till 11.30pm in the office because the rain was falling and he said i should just find my way, life became so difficult but i was going to bear it for the next 6 months.
But unfortunately, 3 months after he didnt come home that night but that was not the first time he will sleep out so i thought it was his usual ways, i use public transport that day to work, in the office one of his friend called that he had accident and the police said i should come, i went there and the DPO told me why i had to leave my car for somene who is so irresponsible, that he was so drunk last night when he ran into another car, he could not deny that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, i had to start begging the police who refuse to listen to our plea.
He was taken to court where i was ask to bail him out with 50,000, i spend alot of money trying to bury the case, then I had to pay all sort of damages before taking the two cars (the one he hits and my own) to repair, while all of these lasted my head was banging and i was really stressed.
After all of these the car is still being fixed at the mechanic workshop, my brother has not seen anything wrong in all he has done, no sorry whatsoever, instead he came to challenge me to hurry the mechanic to finish up repairs on time so he can start work.
I was thinking that i will not give him the car anymore, but my sister was begging i let go.
What do you think i should do.
if I were u I will leave the house and the car for him, take along with me only vital stuff I need and go start a new life in anoda part of the city. I will ask him to also start a new life from there.
