emeijeh:Ashawo nor be work o...Na management o. ![]() |
xynerise:I think all these "silver-spoon" children should go fend for themselves instead of just hanging on Daddy's wealth for ever. With a degree, a kick-start business, what else does he want from the old man? The loafer should just fecl-off and go prove to his Dad, that he is smarter. Leave the old man alone and go look after your own nuclear family |
EgunMogaji:Very simple kwesion! Why are YOU building your own house, instead of just buying one at Ibadan (I know you got loads of Benjamins so affordability wont be an issue) Ok, Tell us. ![]() |
ceelog:Happy for you. Initially, it may look like a waste of money but in the long run, what you are paying for is "rest of mind". Because the foundation is not something you cant easily scrap, even if you have the money to do another one, (you will have to scrap everything built on it as well Then come back later to raise the blockwork, which is the easiet part of building. But seriously, we need to start holding the Builder/Engineer responsible, of they do a shoddy foundation that results in cracks or collapse (God forbid). If you are paid to do a 'professional job', then you should do it and be held liable, if shyte happens. |
TOKNOW:These sort of Vertical cracks are usually the result of "ground settlement" that affect the Foundation when such foundation is not done properly in terms of depth, thickness, strength of materials (Granite/Cement/Sand mix ratio), inadequate reinforcement/iron. As the foundatin settles, due to the weight on it (or ground movements from nearby), the raft/pad/blinding is probably breaking apart and the sheer forces are being transmitted to the block work. Result is that if there are no "columns firmly tied to Beams" which can "break" the transmission of such forces to the blocks, it will simply start to crack like Biscuits! (I have ssen it a few times so l am speaking from experience). I feel very sad to say this: It will cost you more to try and rectify this problem because it is a "foundational problem" that wont ever go-away. (I bet your soil is poor even though l have not seen it properly). There is ground movement going on (Is someone building a bigger house with very sound foundations, within 250ft radius of you? Take a look around. They are not the cause of your problem just that such buildings do 'settle' and push ground away to other areas as they 'sink to their settlment point' so that nearby buildings with poor foundations will start 'feeling the heat'. ) If you have the wherewithal, (if and only if), you need to count your loses, pull this building down, remove the broken blocks, dig a one feet down into the ground and do a thick, inverted-T raft foundation to about three/four planks (to cater for future settlement/sinking) and ensure that builders dont cut-corners on the mix-ratios and the reinforcemnt. This is one expensive mistake the builders have caused for you. My sincere sympathy. |
bixton:Akpabot, I am 'saw' it too! Just try and cordinate yourself, before you get called one big grammar. ![]() |
oyb:Even the community Borehole is not a solution because the Govt of Ambode will simply give you a Tax, the size of "community"! ![]() Water is a human right, the consumption of which should have nothing to dow with whether you can afford it or not. The Poor need drinkable water to survive and so do the rich. It is a survival requirement and as such, should have nothing to do with Money. I have paid over 80K to have Govt water in my compound and after three days, they said their pump developed problem. I waited for almost two months and since they keep folding one hand over another, l had to pay and sink a Borehole. One year after, they brought me a Water bill which l otre in their presence and asked them to buzz-off or sue me to court. Now, imagine if l could not afford to sink a borehole, will l die of thirst or will l be buying from unsanitary "mallam Kegs" and at what cost to me? A Govt that has failed in its primary rsponsibility, has the gut to start imposing more taxes on people? What about increasing the minimum wage, so people can have more disposable income and then pay more taxes like VAT, on luxuries they buy? Really, how much (percentage) of our Tax goes into the development of our state/Country, with all the very bad roads, erratic power supply (even with pre-paid meter!), poor health facilities, poor or non existent road drainage, dirty or non-flowing Water supply, refuse the size of mount kilimanjaro everywhere, e.t.c Where are the TAXES going into? Into Tinubu's pocket via Alpha-Beta and that his LCC scam? Into Ambode's pocket via his/their white elephant projects like Eko Atlantic City? the rest are looted by LGA chairmen, Perm Secs, Directors, e.t.c. So, Ambode is just trying to raise more funds for LOOTING and electioneering, now that 2019 is around the corner. I am a supporter of paying adequate taxes.... but l insist on seeing what it is done with..... not just dashing it out to Nollywood stars in the name of trying to sell what is unsellable/promo |
twinskenny:For a Government that has failed woefully in its duty to provide citizens with portable water supply (under Fashola, you could trust that Water Corporattion will give you drinkable water from your pipes, at least a few hours everyday), `this Ambode Govt is really crazy, to put it mildly! He cant provide Water, yet he wants to prevent citizens from sourcing for their own water by over-taxing their effort. A lot of citizens would need to remind this A.P.Cheat Govt. of Ambode, come 2019, that trying to exploit us and inconvinience us, is a sure way to his failure and that of his party. |
CharleyBright:You and scolanto are perfectly right. This Buhari is either brain-dead or those handling him are planning his doom or both! Baba Iyabo was a School Cert, retired soldier when he was President between 1999 and 2007 but he never goofed this much, so l cant say it is because Buhari is not formally and properly educated. This Buhari is so ill-mannered that he doesnot know the difference between what is right, morally acceptable, morally wrong and completely unacceptable. Red Carpet, in a place of wailing and mourning, with the children (over a 100) still missing? Is Buhari out of his senses? And who are the silly, moronic people that were trying to impress him when he should be crying and they should be wailing? Na God go punish all of una wey dey involed in this red carpet stupidity. |
Fadiga24:Shut-Up! In the fine art of diplomacy, 'the child of a deaf person' is used to pass a message across its mother...... If Nigerian men were all as storng as the Gallant men of Benue, l tell you, the story will not be the same. |
Engr4sure:Sule! Tell us where herdsmen killed over 107 innocent people, pregnant, children and the elderly,............ so we can help you report it to media houses, just like your Myetti Allah cattle Association of Terrorist is doing. |
TheFreeOne:The problem with Buhari is that he has the likes of Abba Kyari, Lawal Daura, AGF Malami, IGP idirs, Mr. Grass-Cutter, Mr BabaganaKingibe, APC Chariman Oyegun, Tinubu, e.t.c....... telling him what his ears are itching-to-hear. And he thiks that is the way Nigerians fell about him. In truth, MOST Nigerians are fed-up with his antics and are just holding their breath in one hand and PVC in the other hand. If it means we have to vote KOWA or other lesser-known parties, we will do so and get rid of this "Honest Mistake" (Yes, l know LiePODS will be jumping up and down like they are not part of the suffering) we made in 2015. Sai Buhari, that is how we feel about you. |
BrutalJab:First, let me congratulate the young ones who are striving to excel academically. That said, l am always amazed at how you people jump-over yourselves and masturbate your egos, once thing like this is posted! You dont stop there, you think it is an avenue to inuslt other tribes. It just makes people like us laugh at your folly because you have no idea what these translates to. For example, out of over hundred courses offered by Universities, because you have "more admissions" does not translate into having - More graduands (many fall by trhe wayside!) - More First Class Graduates - More who gained employment the Statistics also did not explore how this "more admissions" came about (since Jamb has told us about how parents from 'that side' of Nigeria follow their wards to the exam hall, buy questions or even sit for their wards, in all manner of desperate, corruption malfeanse) so it is just another show of 'wanting something to massage swolen egos'. The Stats did not show a comparison between the number of Ibos schooling in Biafra, compared to the droves that run to the S/West to enjoy Yoruba education! ![]() One just wonders, despite all these 'nice statistics', why cant our "Ipad Blodders" stay back and develop the East instead of trooping down to the enclave of the same people they abuse, in every available Chisco Bus, just to come and constitute public nuisance and over-stretch the infrastrucres down South? Some even refuse to live or educate their "wagons of children" in Ibo-land, it has to be Yoruba land because they know that is where they will get quality education. Why cant you guys rejoice and massage your minute ego, without turning it to an avenue to abuse others who are doing far better, while not making any noise or engaging in your usual "chest-beating". NB: Dont turn around to say someone hates you o, we only responded to your own posts, in-kind. ![]() |
Muritino:I was expecting to see some serious military gears - Assault Rifles, Pump Actions, grenades, Shoulder-launch but Dino the Fraudster is once-again, trying to pull the wool over our eyes. How does a "Bola Hat" or Tennis Shoe qualify as a military Equipment? This Certificate Forger called Dino Melaye don start again! |
guji12:Yet, the same police is using his Gun to gurad the Senator, while harassing innocent passers-by, on behalf of the Senator! Who is the Jailer and who is the jailed? I nor fit laugh o. ![]() |
schoolmaster:Haaaaaa~!~ Who asked you to name the three most notorious thieves in Nigeria.....after Mr. garss-Cutter ofcourse? |
Mup4life:Problem with most first-time builders is that they usually bite more than they can chew! They seems to want to impress somebody so they start a "Big project" that they may struggle to finish in a very long time (some even abandon theirs half-way and blame their village witches). The man in question has saved 1.6M, he has bought land 1.4M and he wants to build FOUR Units of 3-beds flats! Depending on 'levels' of finishing, you are looking at between 30M to 50M. Instead of putting yourself under pressure, why not he just build two units of 2-beds or two units of self-contianed, just at one corner of the land. Later, if you can save like 20M cash, then you can embark on a 'big project', using the land still available. You are sure of not sweating at it for the next God-knows how long. Anyway, what do l know sef. |
cjrane:While l dont mind (infact, l support 101%) the idea you posted as highlighted in red, l will wonder-aloud, about what happens to all such monies that hiuse owners pay to Govt? We pay taxes for infrastructural development... they steal it. We pay Land use Charge ...they steal it! We pay Tenement rate .... they steal it! So, whatever we still pay, will be stolen! We just have criminals pretending to be Govt officials and dishing out instructions on how to rip-off ordinary citizens. I will rather advocate that we stop paying completely (Gov abolishes all taxes and payments) and then compel all House owners to tar or concrete the frontage (Pillar to Pillar and up to half of the road, at a minimum) of their houses, including Gutter. Aferall, we still have to provide water and our own electricity! ![]() That is exactly what l did in my own buildings and l still pay taxes and other rates |
Samsimple: ikbnice:These two posts are just the summary of the whole reasons! The Children live with their Pastor-father and see him day-in, day-out. They see through all the facde and charade he does in church and in public eye. They know he is a SCAMMER and so dont really care much about his image. ![]() I dont really see these children as wayward, l see them as "enlightened" because they have SEEN IT ALL. ![]() But we must mention that just very, very few of them actually turn out "the way other expect them to be" |
Mugabe should STFU! You have ruled your country to penury You have looted their treasury to emptiness Your wife has used your office to get an arraingee PhD Your country has settled yo with a life pension, just to get rid of your sorry azz. Now, instead of quietly enjoying the rest of your life, you are still running to A.U, to complein about your wife, ....same wife that your younger and more virile assistants and shagging? Since when Zimbabweans couldn't kill you, na on-top woman matter you wan die? |
Let us change the conversation ![]() But na joke o, make my Ibadan fiends no take am 'personally' o. ![]()

LastSurvivor11:Sharrap joor! Buhari was, though errorneously, instaledl by majority of Nigerian voters. Dont blame it on Tinubu afterall, he has ONLY ONE PVC, like me and you. But Tinubu needs to undertsand that Buhari is a sinking ship, a deadi-bodi (respects to Fela Anikulapo kuti) and no fly should follow it into the grave. Tinubu needs to think beyond his own personal self-greed otherwise, he will go into history as a nobody. Majority of Nigerians voted for Buhari in 2015, come 2019, majority of Nigerians will REJECT Buhari at the Polls because he has failed Nigerians, overall. He has shown that he is clanish, nepotistic and does not value the life of other Nigerians, except that of his blood sucking Fulani-terrorist herdsmen. He also fights corruption with his mouth, while his closest aids and friends are looting the nation to extinction. He supports and re-instates looters and corrupt elements and gives them tacit support. All our security outfits, are for the first time in the history of this country, being headed by people of his clan. |
Nwades:That which ignorant people dont understand, is always a mystery to them..... dolts call it wizardry. ![]() Sorry, omo-yiibo. ![]() |
Ayodejioak:Unfortunately, the Oni of Ife, the paramount Yoruba-King, the "igbakeji-orisa" in Yoruba culture, DOES NOT REQUIRE "a Gee'! That position requires a sober, mentally-matured and spiritually-matured individual, not this gallivanting, party-freak This individual has turned that "Oni-stool" of an Events/Party laughing stock and has brought noting but disgrace to that stool. I am sure our fore-fathers must be turning in their grave and wondering what "a Gee" is doing on the throne? But it all falls into 'pattern" of the general decay and malaise in the present generation. Like Eedris AbdulKareem will croone... Every scatter-scatter, gboosa-Gboosa.... |
Nairalanddist:Stop it, you this "Iphone-Haram". I hear that even Shekau who said "boko Haram", has just acquired the new iphone-X! Imagine, the zombies dying with an explosive strapped to their blockus! ![]() |
Dremca: Dremca:That you chose to 'parrot' the language of Trump, someone who is renowned for bankcrupting/killing business, over and over again, someone who is renowned for cheating the poorer folks by not paying his 'due tax' (using legal loopholes), someone who is renowned for abusng women as an 'object of his depravity',.... shows you are not different from every other Nigerian, morally bankcrupt! You can quote George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Reagan, Clinton, even Obama and many more intelligent American Presidents.............. but to be parroting Trump of all people, a probably, mentally-unhinged, running-mouth dude, usimply becaue he is insulting your country of birth, is an indication of ![]() Also, you are mixing-up 'religiosity and spirituality'. Nigerians are likely the 'most religious people' on earth, churches and mosques every where. Religious 'noise' throughout Sunday and on very early hours of the day when children are supposed to be sleeping, not to mention the Fridays or the shennanigans they do along the Lagos-Ibadan express way! Mouthing 'earth-shattering but practically ineffective prayers' on things God has given us the 'mental power' to resolve ourselves! But that is where it ends. Nigerians are very far-away from being 'spiritual'. Spirituality is your personal relationship with God (or a higher being that you beleive in). Spirituality controls all facets of your life and make you a better person and you not only affect your environment positively, you also have an 'elevated, inner consciousness' that would not make you do all the corrupt things that Nigerians, even the so-called "men-of-god" and Islamic sheiks are deep into - looting public funds, taking advantage of weaker ones, sexual misconducts, ritual and inhuman killings, kidnapping, e.t.c. Let me conclude by saying that Nigerians are good at 'mouthing religious regurgitations from their Holy books', showing-off in religious attires and building religious monuments, just like the Pharisees but their heart is very far from God. |
AngelicBeing:Thank you Sir. I agree and understand that we all have different fancies and what tickles us. ![]() me, l enjoy summer, l love to buy things that l cant get easily in Nigeria and me wife loves shopping. Between us, we hate the winter weather and we actually salute those who can live through it, year-in, year-out. But not to worry, we are still hoping for a miracle. ![]() |
AngelicBeing:The above might be right about Nigeria but... I mean, are you safer, say in America? or is it not the same America, despite all the light, good roads, security, e.t.c, that people get murdered in large numbers, almost on a weekly basis? ![]() Be it in Schools, on the Beach, at a Discoteque, just name it and there is a mutherfucker with an Assault Rifle, spraying bullets indiscriminately. And to make it worse, if "you" are dark-skinned (l did not say "Black" like Trayvon Martins or other black folks used as 'target practice' by either Caucasian Police or their racist, White supremacist friends who think just because your skin is dark, you deserve to be mowed down like a chicken, then you are better-of dying in Nigeria! ![]() In Nigeria, you are certain you wont ever be killed by the Police or some random person ...just for the single reason that the color of your skin is "dark"! You can even negotiate with thieves afterall, they are in business to make money. ![]() If l am shot in a robbery, l know they are after my money If l am attacked on the streets, maybe they want my Phone or that Gold chain (l wont carry it or put it on next time) ...But to be shot by my neighbour, who l have no grudge against or the Police/neighbourhood watch, ....just because l am 'dark skinned' and dont look like them, is most dehumanising! and it would be most ignorant if one does not know that they cant do a damn thing about the color of their skin. ![]() Seriously, l love my Nigeria-die. ![]() |
InvertedHammer:I just saw your post and that of FastShipping now but since l dont want to belabour the point, l will just respond once and move-on. - When l say everything has a price, it means that no matter what your heart desires (and we all have different value-system such that what inspires you might really be depre(l have a few of them at close quarters) you can always have that thing, in Nigeria, as long as you can afford it. Over there, there is the problem, which even those who are born there complain about... and that is over-regulation. You cant do this, you cant do that, such that life becomes easily boring and apart from watching American football or Premiership, there is not much anything exciting in life! Even Christmas is so boring, you will wonder whether it is actually christmas! Even if you have the money, over there, you cant build your house to your heart's desire (as in design, shape or even height)! But some would say such regulation is good, to keep everyone in-check and create a 'sane' society. That is how they feel but for others, it makes life boring. Like everything else in life, there are Pros and Cons. In Nigeria, there is less 'regulation' and it makes life exciting, bordering on the 'dangerously adventurous' if l may put it that way but it is what makes life tick. It is why some people born in 'hectic' Lagos will die of boredom, if you take them for a week in Abeokuta or Ibadan and it is for the same reason that some born in calm, rural Ibadan, will tell you that they will die if you dare take them to that 'insane' Lagos! So, each one's definition of "enjoyment or living the life", .....is SUBJECTIVE. Different shades of Grey, as we say. ![]() |
EweduAfonja:Those type of 'boys' really annoy me! We call then Gigollos and God help any desperate woman that falls into their hands. But on the flip-side, we also have ladies that setup their Antenna, not for anything else but to 'track rich men', even if they are as old as their Daddy! Nasty, useless cunts. All in all, marriage as we know it in the days of our mothers, has lost its value. It is now all abou tmoney, money, and money. Money-go, woman-go. Money-go, love-flies...and it is not just with women but with men also. Infact, this generation does not know what love means, all they know is "Pin-Number" of your ATM! ![]() |
thesicilian:Now you see why the NASS is populaed by thieves...... |
holuwertobex:Naaa! Linda na "Agadi-Nwanyi". ![]() But is it that she never find husband, despite all our prayers through 2017? Devil is a 'Lying Mohammed'. ![]() |
