Bravo! I applaud that judge. More of such judgments for these vermin. |
playboy99:Don't be surprised by the comments of those who think you are trying to defend Buhari's administration. We Nigerians have a way of not addressing the real issues. It is always easier to find someone to blame. Even Buhari's government finds someone to blame. It is our way. Yt our problems continue from generation to generation. |
playboy99:God bless you OP. May your days be long. Nigerians always like to console themselves with nostalgic feelings that things were not so bad in the past, when in truth nothing has really changed. Every time I hear comments like "things weren't this bad even under Abacha", "Obasanjo's time was much better" etc, I just laugh. The same things we complained about then, we are still lamenting over now. Yet, we are busy grading poverty and suffering just to make ourselves feel better. What a damn shame. |
Sad to say, but the guy is right. How can the Police arrest someone since June 10 and not charge him to court since then? Even after he made several confessions. What exactly are they waiting for? They had the momentum but they were busy playing to the gallery. Now the hunted is slowly becoming the hunter. Evans has obviously got people who have advised him how to go about this. Next thing you will hear is that he confessed under duress. I just hope the police have strong witnesses to testify against him in court. Please arraign this criminal already. His jail sentence must be measured out with the Great Wall of China as measuring tape. |
The OP or Mod who put up a title for this thread is very mischievous. Why make it sound like the COAS was meeting with senior Nigerian military officers in London? You just want to get clicks abi? Okay, wehdone sir. |
MediumStout:Yes, all of that too should be addressed. Smoking vehicles, factories emitting smoke and noise pollution from generators, churches and mosques. Would you say we should not make laws on kidnapping because we have not fully tackled armed robbery, rape and other wrongs? Your argument doesn't add up. Plus, I don't run my generator through the night by choice because I respect the tranquility of the night when folks need to sleep. I'm considerate like that |
MediumStout:And I'm sure you would gladly want to live in the UK or some other European countries where this ban on public smoking has been in place for years now. Or you think you can just walk into any bar in the UK and light a cigarette? So many ignorant posts here. Your choice to endanger your health by smoking does not supercede that of nonsmokers. You should respect their rights and their healthy choices. The polite thing to do when you're around people who you are not sure if they smoke, is to ask if they don't mind if you light up. That's how to be civil. But Naija smokers, no way. That's how some dudes started smoking while on an ATM queue. Such crass behavior. Yet they want Nigeria to be like foreign countries. Who are the real hypocrites? |
This may seem insignificant, but check the rim of the spare tyre carefully. I fell for that rookie mistake when I bought my first car. Thought all was well until like 6 months later when I had my first flat tyre. Turned out the rim was a different size with 5 holes and not 4 which the car had. Thankfully, it happened early in the morning just as I was about heading of to work. Just called a nearby vulcanizer. If it was late at night? Hhm. |
ddjay:There's something called 'nostalgia'. |
ddjay:That's why it's for matured minds who can relate to the historical events and young ones who are intelligent enough to appreciate such history. |
another wonderful thread from naptu2. My dad went to see Pele at that time. |
Some comments here are just appalling. Christian soldier my foot. What true Christian would set a man ablaze and watch him die in cold blood whether the individual is guilty or innocent. He is also a poor excuse for a soldier. It is one thing to engage the enemy in combat, it is another to stop a civilian at a checkpoint and set him on fire simply because you have a hunch. Is that standard military procedure? What happened to arrest and interrogation? Such an unprofessional soldier. How is he any different from the Boko Haram he is fighting? And if you call yourself a Christian and support his barbaric action, then you really should check the faith you profess to. It's no wonder atheists on this platform constantly make a mockery of Christians on this platform. Most of them are filled with hate and bigotry. |
technicallyrich:I swear, you are technically mad. ![]() |
Sensual:Er, just one correction. GEJ was President when he defeated GMB, not a "mere" VP. He became President in May 2010 after Yar Adua died. The elections held in 2011. |
Kathmandu:My sentiments when I read the piece. I would have believed he was trying to put forward an objective argument, if he hadn't tried so hard to badmouth the VP/Acting President. That was totally unnecessary in making his point. Which suggests that there is more to this than meets the eye. |
taylor88:So, it is only recession that leads to sack? Where we in recession when banks were firing en masse during the banking reforms of a few years ago? Or did we vote for banking reforms then too? You must sha find a way to politicize every issue. |
It's very easy to look back with nostalgia at the good old days, but the truth is even then Nigerians were complaining about hardship to the high heavens. The politicians of that era were just as lawless and reckless as those we have today. if things were so rosy back then Fela's music wouldn't have been a hit to the common man. You should hear the choice words he had for Shagari's government. That said, the coup was another mistake. It was a wrong trying to correct another wrong. We should have found democratic solutions to a democratic problem. |
ekems2017:Aunty, are you for real? They should have waited for her to go and buy her own water? From where? The guy hawking it on the tarmac? For your info, you aren't even allowed to go on a plane with liquids, aerosols and gels above a certain quantity most times due to security reasons. As for this woman, I think she got what she deserved. Sometimes, just be patient and exercise restraint rather than act like a petulant child. She may have been thirsty, but I don't think she was distressed to the point of taking such actions. It obviously wasn't a medical emergency. She didn't get the water and she didn't pass out as a result. People need to observe simple rules and regulations. Many don't. A plane will be taxiing and the pilot will be announcing "please remain seated" my people no go gree. Let's not always play the race card. White folks get thrown of planes too if they become difficult. |
miketayo:The actual reason according to who? Meanwhile, 10 lanes from Oshodi? Does that include service lanes? I hope some people's fences will not receive cropping? ![]() |
smardray:I sincerely hope that the picture on your profile is not yours but that of your son or nephew. Too many kids on NL these days talking trash. It's always easy to talk trash on a faceless forum. Try posting that crap on Facebook with your real name and let's see the response. Your kind never learns though. |
smardray:You're the one who should have engaged your brain when you typed that stuff you did. Why will you see a girl in something skimpy and the first thing that comes to your mind is "rape". You need help bro. You're already thinking it.Won't be long before you do it..., if you haven't already. |
SmartyPants:The wise ones will follow up and this and probably benefit. The foolish ones will remain there shouting "lies, lies, lies". That is how they shouted, some people benefited from Sure-P, some benefited from LagosHoms, some benefited from N-Power, some have benefited from BOI..., and the list goes on. |
smardray:Are you a rapist? Is this you speaking from experience? ![]() |
banmee:Oga, what are you saying? Is Lionel Mess I the same stature as Christian Ronaldo? You never played pro football and you are here telling us that everyone you played with had the same stature. KANU Nwankwo played pro football in Europe for more than 17 years, Yobo same thing, yet you people claimed they were above 30 when they played for the youth teams. Does that mean they played till they were 50? Think about it now, Haba. Yes, there are age cheats in African, and South American football (yes I said it, South American), but you guys need not label everyone an age cheat or come up with exaggerated figures. |
NwaObinkita:Nigerians always lie about their age? Seriously? Maybe you do, I never have. By the way, I won't be surprised if you're one of those who got angry when Buhari agreed with David Cameron that Nigerians are fantastically corrupt. Here you are making general statements without any statistical proof. |
iluvpomo:It's obvious you don't know Mourinho. He is arrogant. You think what is really making him happy is winning UEL? No. It's the fact that he said it and he did it. Classic Moi will come and boast that he told everyone who criticised him for putting all his eggs in one basket that he was right and they were wrong. Didn't you see him holding up 3 fingers? That's him telling everyone "I won 3 trophies in my first season at United". |
iluvpomo:There is something called context. When Mourinho made that comment he was coaching a Chelsea team that had just finished 3rd the season before and would be playing in the Champions League, so why would he be targeting winning the Europa League? However with United, he took over a team that finished 5th and were already qualified for Europa League. Two different scenarios. |
iluvpomo:It's shameful how you Chelsea fans ridicule your most successful manager. What's even more ridiculous is how you guys try to ridicule a trophy you were celebrating winning in 2013. 2013 Chelsea fans were like, "we won Champions League and Europa League back to back! Respect. Jokers. |
Victornezzar:Haters gon' hate, potatoes gon' potate. We really don't care. Champions League here we come. |
mukina2:Mukina, come collect hug. Welcome to Thursday night football. ![]() |
That woman sef stingy. If she had offered Officer Peter 1 million naira, he would have hurriedly denied his conscience. ![]() But these folks are wicked o. Someone does all the work, packages his goods for export and they swoop in to steal everything. Thank God the Nigeria Police stepped in, if not next thing you will see in the news is "President of Freight forwarders association jumps into Lagos lagoon after receiving strange phone call". God punish devil. |
obainojazz:You guys never get tired of your tribal bigotry. This brilliant young girl was sponsored through her education by the Shehu Musa Yar Adua Foundation. She attended a university founded by Atiku Abubakar. She speaks English, Igbo and now, Hausa. You are here talking funny. |
