Would the presidency intervene if Shekau was arrested by some foreign government? Something is dreadfully wrong with this administration. Can't wait for 2015 so we can sweep out this garbage. |
Ps- Segun Agbaje didn't co-found Gtbank pls. |
bluerange: @Vladm, l feel u.The three were so arrogant & boasted openly that they were spiritually fortified. One got struck by stroke, the other 2 got invoolved in an accident, one died on the spot, the other, wheelchair. let me not talk about their widows! And you really think it's worth boasting about? I don't believe it's in my place to pray for "MY ENEMIES" to DIE. Neither should I gloat when misfortune befalls said "ENEMY" That said, Psalm 121 works for me. |
Firstly its not the CARD that is being replaced by the Fingerprint for heaven's sake. The fingerprint will replace the PIN, which is already in use in India and other countries where biometric identification is already the norm. Instead of a pinpad, you have a fingerprint scanner on the ATM. Customers can also use the scanners within the banking halls to identify themselves during transactions or authenticate said transactions. OP posted garbage and alot of "follow-follow" types jumped on the merry bandwagon of ignorance instead of seeking clarification. I doubt this was what he actually heard on AIT news ![]() |
b) He has a GTB Master Card. I have one too and we use it to "do shopping" when we travel outside.Lastpage, now you provide added information which would've been useful from the onset. I might add though that I would be amazed if your friend did succeed in purchasing up to 500,000Gbp in one fell swoop and credit same to his account for onward transfer overseas as this is in breach of CBN regulations, which you seem to know well offhand. Largely, the post by yazmin provides the proper means through which the goods ought to be paid for. Lessons learnt . |
Romans 12:15 Tells us in plain English to rejoice with those who rejoice and to mourn with those who mourn. Our new flock of ministers and Christian brethren selectively read the bible and end up with faulty, misleading doctrine. Whether theses prosperity churches announce funerals or not, members will still die at the appointed time because we are mere mortal. Not talking about it doesn't take it away. It's tragic because a church will gather round you to dedicate your car or new house but leave you alone when you need comfort and consolation. This is not Christianity as Jesus exemplified. Believe it or not, all the Bishops, Daddy GOs, Senior pastors, Junior pastors- all shall die one day, they're no different from you and I. I lost my dad at a pretty early age in a car crash. My mum was distraught, the entire family was mortified. Our Baptist church turned up for us. We didn't need handouts or money, but they came bearing gifts of food. Most importantly, they brought us companionship. They prayed with us, sat with us, hugged us and stood by us. The bottom line is they didn't leave us alone in our time of need. |
@Lastpage, GTbank ceased selling forex to customers when it launched it's Naira mastercard, so I'd be mighty surprised if your friend had purchased same from them RECENTLY. In the past, he'd need not fund his domicilliary account to pay for "Invisible goods" or fees as the bank would just take the naira equivalent and render the payment on his behalf in the stipulated currency. Secondly and more importantly, in case you missed it in the detailed extract by the original poster, the bank buys forex on behalf of BDCs, to which the "Mallam" probably represents or OWNS! The bank could have told you politely that they don't sell forex and ces't fini. Your friend would probably get disgruntled, rant abit, blame EVERYONE else and that would be that. TRAGICALLY, they offered you guys a lifeline, which you now see as a scam(rightly or wrongly...this one's for the judge), in order to complete the transaction. The perils of customer service.... ![]() |
Isn't this the same DSS that got ambushed by ombatse tribesmen, in this modern day and age of intelligence gathering? Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the sequence 'Innocent until proven guilty'? How can security operatives shoot to kill without giving their hapless victims a chance to surrender? If anything, killing an unarmed person is nothing short of cowardice. |
Ian Fleming,Chinua Achebe,Alistair Maclean,Robert Ludlum,Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon in that order. |
If you believe the bible, then it should be in its entirety, not the parts that suit you. If he did it, let him say it. I read just this morning from Proverbs 28-13- He who hides his sin, does not prosper. The one who confesses FINDS mercy. He's human, we really have to stop conferring 'God-Status' on mere mortals who are servants in the vineyard. |
Many of us don't have proper garbage disposal methods even at home, so we extend it even when we're outdoors. It's shocking to believe that we expect garbage to automatically be absorbed by mother nature hence the ease with which we toss trash out of moving vehicles. It cuts across all strata of the society regardless of status because you see corn cobs and plastic bottles thrown from 'expensive' cars on major highways, in the middle of traffic! We're a dirty bunch aren't we? ![]() |
Hello Guys, an estimate please. Acura Tl 2006, sports package- Manual!! Non accidented or Acura Tl 2004, tech package- Manual!! ![]() Thanks |
In a swift reaction, the secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Association in Benue State, Garus Gololo, said the herdsmen attacked the Agatu people in order to recover their cows, numbered about 550, which he alleged were hijacked by the Agatu people. This is the trouble with our country; the man is basically justifying the attack and no one will arrest him for such effrontery. So killing defenceless humans is retribution for their missing cattle? Unbelievable ![]() |
Oga, since you're still aggrieved that your 'Image' has been tarnished, you may wish to seek redress in a court of law. You've vowed not to bank with them again- tis your money, tis your choice. |
Dude, I laugh in Gbagyi ![]() See how terrified you have become of me?My world doesn't revolve around you thankfully. Your badly battered ego wont let go i assume. You've been trying to prove something to me all week, I don't have to prove zilch to you ![]() Kai! Walahi, your ignorance is advanced and stupidity at its peak. Why is my MBA (which you grudgingly eventually acknowledged) tormenting your soul and causing you sleepless nights? ehnMore insults- a leopard can't shed it's spots dude, I can't blame you ![]() Simply admit you have been licked and have no answers to my questions.Licked? Dude, I have O levels vs The mba, I've done a damn good job I daresay. Your badly battered ego wont let go i assume.I'm tired dude, abeg free me I won't ever cross you again eh. I want to grade test scores now. |
It depends; There is no guarantee that he'll even run or be the flagbearer of his party. I voted for him in the past. My vote is dual purpose though- if I can't vote him in, I'm definitely voting GEJ out. |
dude: That you lack the intellectual or academic competence to earn an MBA or even engage in any meaningful debate ( as has become obvious here) doesn't mean many us can't. Mr. Darqly, answer my questions and throw out all these face saving diversions. Nothing else will convince me you had proper 'upbringing'.Like we say, this boy will not kill me If you were decent enough to backtrack, you'd see that your first 'intellectual' comment was to insult me directly after I posted on this matter. That was enough to let me know how shallow your reasoning is and I can't be bothered to debate with an empty gong. Your much hyped MBA seems to be the highlight of your career hence the need to refer to it as the panacea for ALL the world's troubles ![]() NB- I hadn't the foggiest idea that university of keffi has started MBA programmes because if you're Harvard trained, you can't be 'All container and no content' |
Dude,Upload the mba and I'll show you how to pass your next gmat assessment ![]() #sufferhead |
dude: Your mum was perhaps busy servicing barrack privates so your family does not starve?Spoken like a true potty-mouthed Child. And you have the cojones to brag about an MBA? Dude, if you have an MBA, then I'm the prince of wales!! |
@madejibo Anyone that doesn't kowtow to your line of thought is on gtb payroll and ergo a swindle or thief like you mentioned earlier. Fair enough; For the names I've been called and invocation of thunder on my head, I think I can claim 'something' from them once this is over and I forward them a transcript. Kindly do us ALL one small favour: Let us in on the resolution reached by parties concerned once this is over. No need for intimate details, just give us the highlights of the settlement reached- For academic purposes. |
Isn't it now obvious how your likes (bankers) reason? Will i be out of order if i call you a bloody thief?Dude, you seem incapable of advancing your points without hurling invectives and making pointless accusations. This I'm willing to forgive as you had little to no control over your upbringing ![]() Whether a customer is right or wrong, no right thinking organization will use its' might to shut the customer up for the sole reason of reputational damage, moreso in this case which is now in public glare. Since you obviously suffer from selective amnesia, you may wish to refer me back to where I ever mentioned the op should refund 'money he never ate' or where I applauded gtb for shabby treatment of a customer. The gtb I know would have placed the staff in question on suspension or even terminated her appointment by now for not handling a simple service issue; staff have been fired for far much less. Refrain from name-calling, it makes you sound petty and takes the gloss off any reasonable arguments you have. |
saxywale: Bollocks!!!!!!This has nothing to do with sop. There is hierarchy in EVERY corporate organization. If I go to customer care and they're faffing about, I ask to see their supervisor- works all the time. And he's based in Lagos where top management are scattered in several branches; even the daft modupe has a boss or line manager she reports to. Like I stated, he has gotten their attention albeit in terrorist fashion but at what cost? He has categorically labelled ALL staff of the bank thieves with the exception of top management. I'm surprised they didn't take the millions he turned over in the account instead. |
See am? You refused to even comment on the issues i raised. Abegi go siddon. Am not fooled by the face saving verbal engagements and obvious diversionDude what issues did you raise save for the revelation that your etiquette is probably the same as your business knowledge? I made an assertion; If you needed facts, you'd have asked. But you chose to be what you evidently are. I don't do roadside fights, in reality or virtually. |
@Dude, I'm not disappointed at your response. Banality is rife on this forum. It's apparent you're still a minor; your inability to engage in conversation civilly speaks volumes and is quite pathetic. Please remain anonymous for YOUR sake ![]() |
Two things stand out for me in this saga. We don't speak to the right people when we have issues that can be thrashed out easily. As an ex banker I'm amazed and appalled that you didn't know the proper channels to follow to achieve speedy resolution. You may have gotten a response for now owing to the negative publicity you have generated here, but I assure you it's a phyrric victory. Nonetheless, learn whatever lessons you can to protect yourself and your finances. I also expect gtbank to close your account in the interest of all parties concerned. Secondly, and more noteworthy is the amount and intensity of vitriol thrown at bankers at any single opportunity. As soon as the original poster said his piece, the rest of the world suddenly realised they had been shortchanged at one time or the other by Gtbank or bankers in general. Worst still is the attitude to generalise every one in the industry a Thief, an allegation 99% of respondents are unable or unwilling to back with facts. Even touts on this forum have the effrontery to call a banker names because they received a debit alert they cannot understand...laughable really. For the likes of acidtalk, those who trample on the sensibilities of anyone on the other side of the counter or desk because you are a 'customer', perish the notion that you are King or that you pay staff salary. In reality, only 20% of customers bring 80% of profit to any business. That 20% doesn't need to remind us they are kings....We know they Are! |
gparker...why do I find your story to be a lot of cock and plenty of bull? You actually lug a laptop to interviews for ease of what....are you one of the panelists or the interviewee? Off my head, I can tell you a few CEOs who will usher you and your laptop out of the interview before you have time to power up ![]() Keep it simple at any interview, that's all I can proffer. @Adooloro said it all, even if he wasn't diplomatic about it ![]() |
@gsalvatore- The George clooney movie with Nicole Kidman is Peacemaker, excellent car wreck scene. Then the police car chase scene and crash in The original Blues Brothers directed by John Landis, that's a personal favorite. |
Hello people, I thoroughly enjoyed this and thought it might be useful ![]() As easy as these mistakes are to make, they are also easy to catch. Luckily, they are also easy to fix! When applying for a job, pitching an idea, communicating with a client, or selling a prospect, the smallest mistakes can kill the deal. Not only will you look unprofessional and careless, you could also look dumb! I often get pitched ideas for a new business, but my perception of the person behind a potentially great idea might be completely thrown off if that person makes a dumb grammar mistake in an email. How can you expect me to think of you as a professional if you can’t take the time to double check your grammar? Or maybe you simply don’t know the write (got you!) rules. With the number of emails we send every day, it’s now more important than ever to double check what we are sending. I’ve highlighted a few of the most common errors people make, all of which should be avoided. 1. You’re vs. Your You are = You’re. For example, “You’re officially part of the club. Congratulations!” Related to you = Your. For example, “Thank you. Your efforts have undeniably increased our revenue stream” Biggest common mistake: Your welcome. Should be You’re welcome! 2. They’re vs. Their vs. There They are = They’re. For example: “They’re joining us for dinner Friday evening, so be sure and purchase enough red and white wine for the entire group” Belonging to them = Their. For example: “Their dedication was simply remarkable, and I would work with them again in a heartbeat” Regarding a location = There. For example: “I will leave the envelope over there” 3. Lose vs. Loose Opposite of win = Lose. For example: “I have a feeling the Bulls are going to lose this game” Opposite of tight = Loose. For example: “Please fix the loose handle immediately” 4. It’s vs. Its Short for it is or it has = It’s. For example: “This is going to change the way we view this industry. It’s earth-shattering!” Possessive form of it = Its. For example: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on” - Winston Churchill 5. Effect vs. Affect A result = Effect. For example: “The lighting had a major effect on productivity levels. With more natural light in the room, employees appear more inspired” To influence = Affect. For example: “The new HR team is affecting employees’ motivation, and the feedback we have been receiving is overwhelmingly positive!” 6. Alot This word does not exist What you are trying to say is “a lot” for example, maybe you have a lot of marketing experience. Additionally, it is unprofessional. Try replacing this with words like “ample” or “x years of marketing experience”. 7. Then vs. Than Time related =Then. For example: “We are looking forward to meeting you then” Comparison related =Than. For example: “I much prefer to meet in my area, rather than yours, as mine has a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops” Saying “I have more to offer then that” to an investor won’t lead to your next round of funding. Save this guide. Reference it. Don’t let being in a rush make you look like a fool. Edit your work, or ask someone else to glance at it for you. These errors may seem insignificant, but your intelligence will be questioned when these mistakes are discovered...and they will be. What common mistakes do you see? Does it change your perception of the person that made them? Please comment below. @nairabytes: Profit from atm commissions cannot be tax-free, I wonder where you got that notion from. No bank makes 'billions' from rubbish atm charges in Nigeria. Your N100 by 100 people analogy is grossly misleading; Do you know how many Nigerians can ill afford that N100, which is why they will ignore 5+ atms in their locality and rather queue at their banks' atm. I daresay that on a queue of say 15 customers, only 3 on the average are other bank customers. Reevaluate your stats . Your N100 cannot cover maintenance so don't even go there. The fee is for a middle man like you rightly pointed out- the bulk of the money goes to interswitch and banks get a token. How do you know banks deploy tokunboh atms? Have you purchased any before? And since when are warranty seals displayed on the exterior of atm machines ANYWHERE in the world? The biggest challenge banks face in running atms is getting fit naira notes. How do you handle our currency? The naira is one of the most abused, germ infested , disease laden legal tender you will ever handle. Are banks supposed to mint new notes as well ? Good notes = fewer cash jams and optimum atm performance. PS- the OS of the terminals have zilch to do with their OUTPUT. The whole banking system in Nigeria inc CBN is a fraud is too lame a statement; please provide proof. How come you still maintain accounts with them when Bank of America is available to you? The primary reason many banks have many branches is because nigerians insist on lugging cash around instead of e-channels. No bank makes profit from building brick n mortar branches. Why would anyone use an atm to withdraw his annual house rent, when he can effect an instant transfer? You ask if money saved in an account yields any interest, how many times a day do you withdraw from the account? People use their savings account like danfo, then expect the bank to dash them interest @ month end. Please don't tell me you fall into the 80% of non profitable customers that complain and bicker endlessly.... ![]() |
The only thing I've garnered from replies thus far is nothing short of obvious and green envy towards bankers. Those of you calling Any profession overrated are the worst lot of all. You worked in a bank, didn't like it and quit...who told you what you do presently isn't overrated? There is dignity in labour, whatever you find to do with your hands, do it diligently. I'm sure there are some daft unemployed folk amongst those castigating a profession just because the internet is free now. Then to the idiot bank workers who give bankers a bad name- those of you on 75k a month who obtain EVERY loan accessible and can't even balance your till @ close of business- then come here to spew that slavery tripe...If you're tired of being a slave, shut up and quit already. Lastly, if I decide to spend all my hard earned slave-salary on a fancy car or trendy clothes and still borrow on top, #isityourmoney? I don't know what you peoples idea of a poor salary is but asides thieving govt officials, oil n gas, telecoms, ngos and a few entrepreneurs, bankers DO earn rather well. Mind you, I didn't say contract staff. Conceivably, there is nothing I cannot afford presently if I'm willing to save long enough...except my evoque That will take some doing. If I'm thrifty, it's cos I work hard for my money, y'all should imbibe the culture. |
An official of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), who participated in the Search and Rescue operations, said the governor was stuck on the cockpit at the crash site and required extra carefulness to bring him out.Just what sort of battered description is this? How can he be stuck ON the Cockpit, is he a pin-up doll? Also, I thought Cessna are piloted by just the one pilot @ a time, how could he have had a co-pilot? I hope his passengers sue him for attempted suicide.. ![]() |
Armageddon- The scene where Liv Tyler has the last phonecall with Bruce Willis always haunts me. Then in Gattaca, the scene where Ethan Hawke defeats and rescues his brother whilst they are swimming as adults, just heart-tugging. |
