PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Development (pictures) by davidif: 12:01am On Jun 23, 2009
Because the Nigerian constitution makes your request impossible.
The constitution demands that, If any state government generates electricity, it has to pump it into the national grid, which would eventually be shared btw all the states from zamfara to abia! The constitution is the hindrance to the nations growth.
WHAT?!?!?!?!

Unbelievable, you really cannot be telling the truth??  I really hope its a lie.

NIGERIANS!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?! WHY DO WE ALWAYS CONFUSE NICE BUILDINGS WITH DEVELOPMENT. GEEZ.

Development happens when the overall standard living of the common man improves. Instead of throwing money at building houses why not just throw all the money at giving the people of Bayelsa 24/7 electricity. A  lot of Nigerians don't know that lack of electricity hampers commerce. That if we have constant electricity, it would kick start industrialization and tons of foreign investors would flood the country causing unemployment to plummet drastically. Instead, the governor is busy building houses. Who is going to live there? Electricity generation SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM FOR BAYELSA. Nigeria emitted so much gas flares from rigs that is enough to power up half of Africa and yet it cannot solve a simple electricity problem. Na wa o. Now i know why they say that Africans have the lowest IQ of every other race.

WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT ABOUT MAKING A HIT IN NAIJA? Just sing in Yoruba mixed with English and get some producer to make a good beat then you have everybody in naija bowing at your feet.

USELESS EGYPT, WHAT AN EMBARASSMENT TO AFRICA, SEE HOW THEY WENT TO MISREPRESENT US. I know there best players like Amr Zaki and Mohammed Zidan did not play but that is NOT AN EXCUSE to lose to USA of all countries. WHAT UTMOST NONSENSE. THEY ALWAYS BLOW HOT OR COLD. That's the best way to explain how a team can be back to back African champions and almost beat Brazil and even beat the world champions Italy and yet cannot beat America. They are even at the bottom of there group in world cup qualifying. Geez. What nonsense.

Their style of play, and for most North African countries generally, looks Eurpean. Free flowing, teamwork, perfect understanding, courage unlike typical African country that plays gbugbugbu, physical football with some flashes of individual skills as is the case with Nigeria, CIV,Ghana and most guilty Cameroun.
You hit the message right on the head, Nigeria plays like the old English team, physical football and long ball instead of just passing and running into space, they just "spray and pray" and loose possession. Just look at Brazil's second goal (Robinho) against  USA when have you ever seen Nigeria play like that? NEVER. just long ball and physical play. This is why Egypt could beat Ivory Coast and Cameroun SOUNDLY in the African Nations Cup.

FamilyRe: All Men? Just Nigerian Men? Or Just My Man? by davidif: 6:19am On Jun 19, 2009
Bought a great MP3 player for hubby's bday. He was delighted with it and uses it almost everyday. However, a few days ago it stopped working, no idea why. My husband asked me to produce the receipt so that he could go and have it repaired. I replied, truthfully, that I had no idea where the receipt was or even if I'd kept it. Seemingly he thought I was joking because tonight he threw the MP3 player next to me and said that it was of no use to him now that it's broken and that I should just throw it in the bin or do whatever I wanted with it. This was accompanied by a mundane monologue about how someone could buy their partner an expensive birthday gift and not keep the receipt for it.

So ladies and gentleman, I want to know if you think that this rude attitude is a Man thing? A Nigerian Man thing? Or is just specific to my man?
He he he, you are beginning to find out our ways ha ha ha. Some men are like that, especially the mundane thing, they kind of murmur it under there breath ( i know a some adults like that) and trust me it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly childish and VERY ANNOYING.
FamilyRe: Sex And Marriage : What's The Catch? by davidif: 6:15am On Jun 19, 2009
while some women think they are emblems of the the true and proverbial African woman - one that doesn't engage in "nefarious" and "demeaning" sexual acts. They just want the old time kind of sex which doesn't entail all the "western" fantasies.

On the other hand, 98% of men, I mean men who are enlightened(educated, exposed and such) are so much engrossed in these habits, which I think is good because that is part of the globalization we're talking about evolving into, but their wives have refused to let them exhibit their new found talent in bed. The man subsequently seeks another woman out there who can go to any length to satisfy his needs and before you know it, he falls in "lust" and starts to lose focus on the home front and concentrating real good on the sexual counterpart, sending text messages, phone calls, romantic gifts, and dare I say that the man will be wayward and will start showing off attitudes to his wife if his counterpart is very sexy, good in bed and romantic?
Madam, thank you for highlighting all this, you hit the message right on the head.

RomanceRe: Ekiti-ijebu Romance by davidif: 2:13am On Jun 19, 2009
Ekitis are known for their temper and stubborness, Ijebus are known for their cunningness and pretence.
opelovely, pleeaaaaaaaaase would you be kind to show me the data of how many Ekitis are stubborn and have tempers or how many Ijebus that are cunning. Please let's not stereotype people and lump them into the same category just because of the ten or so people you've met from both tribes (or that you've simply heard about) tend to have this characteristics.

If that's Tiv (it looks like Ibo) then that's good, i have never heard Tiv before in fact, i don't think i have ever heard any minority language before except Efik, Ibibio, Nupe and Igbira. We need more please and we can't have our people being ashamed of their language. I know we yoruba's no send, we dey even speak Yoruba in front of oyinbo.

Don't worry, if i become Naija president, no student would be able to enter University unless they can pass there native language test PROPERLY.

I think i've met only 3 tiv people in my life (they lived in makurdi but i am not sure whether they are Tiv). But its good that we are starting this thread, i hate to see that a lot of our minority tribes have no voice, we need to see more ijaw, nupe, idoma threads i would really be happy.
Some of our local tribes are getting extinct and they can't even speak there languages no more, this is despicable.

Poster, i would love it if all the Tiv people on this thread spoke there languages here as the yorubas, hausas, and igbos do.
