FamilyRe: Calling Off Wedding After Introduction? by DBestDoc(f): 6:26am On Jan 06, 2014
Baby mama: I don't care what she does, the man is calling her parents to report her and badmouth her to his people
If he can't handle whatever the problem may be between them then he is not mature enough for marriage
Period
Baby i'm not saying it's right for the guy to report Op to her parents or whatever he does, what i'm saying is the lady in question shouldn't trigger issues and expect a pat on the back. Why is she always giving him things to report her for?

Im not trying to be the judge here but one sure thing is that if the guy in question comes on here to tell us what the op does, im sure we will aslo ask him to run from the lady without looking back.
Op knows herself and her relationship better than we do.
FamilyRe: Calling Off Wedding After Introduction? by DBestDoc(f): 5:16am On Jan 06, 2014
We are asking the Op to run fast, have we asked the Op her roles in all the drama?
If she is the one that triggers the reactions (i'm not in any way applauding the guy's immaturity)then i'm sorry running won't solve the issue 'cause the next relationship won't be a smooth sail either.

Op please give us a scenerio here, does he get angry over petty issues? and what do you consider petty?
You guys should stop getting on each others nerves and try to be adults. We can only give our opinions but the decision is yours, choose wisely.
FamilyRe: Calling Off Wedding After Introduction? by DBestDoc(f): 9:49pm On Jan 05, 2014
Every relationship comes with it's own challenges, but if you can't cope with those traits after marriage then it's the best time to quit.

Calm down and think things over, please don't act while angry. Take your time and make your decision wisely to avoid future regrets

heavy g: She turns thirty this year. So you lot wouldn't mind her being single, huh? To prove what point exactly?

I have tried apologizing. Moreover, this happened nearly three years ago. No need trying to bite off my head.sad
She has been found by a better man. She is 30 and so what?.
Only wise people know that it is more important staying married than getting married.

nairaman66: Cut the goose chase! you already answered yourself young man! However, let me give you a clue- I believe you are still under the supervision of your parents! Get a handwork, make money and see if this defiant girl wont come back speeding to you! grin
And what makes you think she isn't making her own money? Gone are the days when women were viewed as liabilities.

@Op, u had the chance and you lost it. Move on with your life and let her be, perhaps she has someone else already.

May her soul rest in peace. I pray God grants her family especially her parents the strength to bear the loss.

This reminds me of God's grace upon me, even in my filthiness.
Life is a gift we must appreciate every single moment we have.

FamilyRe: Help; My Friend's Husband Abandoned Her, Moved to Canada by DBestDoc(f): 3:21pm On Oct 27, 2013
Chillisauce: OP, tell your friend to get her a ss up and be useful for once to the society.

As a runs girl, I'm sure she still has money, let her go and adopt. There are many children wandering around for someone to love and care for them. As much as getting a job/business to keep her going.

She should send a copy of her divorce letter to her eloped husband and focus on putting her life together.

Not everyone will be married
Not everyone will remain married
Not everyone will have kids
Not everyone will age.

That's life, make use of your condition and find happiness in it.
Thank You for this comment.
It's not the end of the road for her,she made the mistake already. She should just learn from it and get a life.

wwwkaycom:
Bilateral tubal blockage/linear damage, are we saying its the end of the road for this woman? Isn't there medical solution to this? Just asking.....
It means her two fallopian tubes are blocked and the sperms cannot have access to the ova naturally.
It's a serious case but not the end of the road for her 'cause ICSI(IVF) can help.

The problem i have with peeps is that they hardly think before taking actions, she didn't think she might need a healthy uterus sometime in future.
If her husband can forgive her, they can actually work together to have a plan B.

She's not worse,i know someone who had 15 abortions angry angry,i'm not exaggerating...lets assume the 1st was a mistake, then 2nd,3rd,4th........and counting.I really don't know if a special clearance is needed before buying a condom.(people still make the same mistakes over and over)
FamilyRe: I Think I Need Some Genuine Help. Please Open This. by DBestDoc(f):
Definitive: As a way of introduction, I'm a medical doctor. I'm gainfully employed. I live and work in the largest city in West Africa.

I'm a practising christian and of the Roman Catholic extraction. Honestly, speaking very modestly, I'm averagely good looking - if not very handsome. I'm adroit at my professional responsibility and communicate pretty well in English language.

Ordinarily, I have no problems. But that's where the problem indeed is: I seem to have huge problems getting a good woman to settle down with.

Now I'm almost losing my mind. Women often complain that men are fake, are smokers, womanisers and all of that. Now here is one who doesn't drink, smoke, womanise or party. I can't even dance to modern nigerian hip-hop. I get on well with the old school music however. That'a where the issue is: I seem to be too definitive, too God-conscious, too Catholic or too 'rigid' to whatever is right and appropriate in the sight of both God and man.

I would love to meet a woman who has my orientation about life - as I'm nearly 30 and haven't simply met a Catholic lady or willing-to-be-Catholic lady who is willing to keep a sex-free definitive relationship which would lead to marriage. Often times, when I get to meet a lady who can speak and present herself in the society as good as I do, they come as proud, unchristian or warped mentalities. On the rare occasion when I thought I had met the woman I so badly prayed for, we couldn't work out because she was rigidly stuck to her pentecostal faith.

So I have come to appeal to all of you: Nairaland please help.

I'm in need of a beautiful lady for marriage. I'll prefer a hardworking professional with global horizon who can communicate in impeccable English and who is a Roman Catholic or is willing to become one before marriage.

I can be reached by replies here or by texts to 08036698683. My whatsapp # is 08156133790.

I'm genuine. I'm optimistic that there is a lady out there who shares my orientation.
This is one of the reasons i can't have anything serious with a Doctor, i would rather end up with a carpenter on the street. The bolded parts of your post reveals a lot about you and alota male Doctors in Nigeria(80% of them) have such annoying mentality. angry angry

You said/think you don't have any problems(from your post). You are barely 30,yet you've dated close to EIGHT persons(from your post),What does that tell you of yourself?

Seriously, HUMILITY is a VIRTUE.

Things can only become better the moment you stop seeing yourself as Mr. Impeccable. Do an inward search and discover the problem, i still believe most women can give up anything to be with a good man, your case is not as extreme as a Muslim wanting a Christian,it's still within the christiandom and changing from whichever denomination to another shouldnt have been too difficult a task for those your 7 exes. I still think you have serious attitude issues(i'm sorry if i come across as judgemental).Stop expecting everybody to be smart just because you are and stop seeing yourself as a saint better than everyone else because you are certainly not. People are different and will always be different.

If you couldn't make something out of your relationships so far, there is no guarantee that the next woman you meet online is gonna be better.

Good for you then, but the fact that you think every Nigerian living abroad is into shady deals is so pathetic and myopic.
I'm not trying to impose my opinion on you,i quoted your post because you called someone else an iddiat just because you didnt like his comment and the mod. became stupppid for hiding your post.

Living in self delusion is not my thing,i'm real and true to myself.
whatever you choose is good for you, but please let people have the freedom to express themselves without calling them names,
that shows maturity and civility.

Sooooooooooo many things in my head.....should I start with the organ-system approach or subject approach? Should I just start with videos or textbooks? I suggest you start with the videos, then the textbooks(helps you understand and comprehend faster and saves lota time trying to figure things out too). After that, you can test yourself with the question bank so as to discover your weaknesses(brush them up) and your strengths.
Just do the best you can,you gonna be just fine.I believe you will share your success with us soon.

Will thread this path next yr.God willing.

All the best.

alutacontinua: If you ask me, this is the advice you need!
You just have to know yourself, i had a room-mate about a year ago who reads practically all through the nite, I mean even when she's sleeping, her laptop is open beside her and any attempt for her to just open her eyes, she starts reading. She'll sleep off after lyk 2 hours to wake up in 30 mins time again. She even had to be sleeping on the tiles, so she won't be able to sleep conveniently. On the other hand, nothing messes with my own sleep. embarassed embarassed I can count the number of times i've had to be awake for 6hours at a goal in the night before. Mind you, we were in the same class. That still didn't mess with my result and I was fine. As for me, nothing tampers with my sleep, play, nairaland, church services, movies etc...and I still pass my exams WELL! I have friends who are even in lower classes and doing easier stuffs than me who don't sleep, most especially when examz is approaching and they're fine. Do I judge those other people or seem dem as over-serioushuh Abso-freaking-lutely NOT, if that is what they have to do to pass, then, so be it! Do I see myself as wasting my father's moneyhuh Abso-freaking-lutely NOT, I'm trying my best by God's grace but i don't need 8 hours in a day to have my REALLY GOOD SCORE!

In conclusion, sweetie, do what you have to do to excel, but don't tamper with your health along the process.
GOOD LUCK! kiss
Lol at your roommate sleeping on tiles grin grin, she could use alarm clock actually.
I agree with what you wrote up there, people are wired differently. You just have to know what works for you and follow it.

My roomie doesn't study like i do, she considers my style "depressing" in her exact word, yet she does "very" well in school. I consider her very intelligent and i mean it. Why? because it takes her approximately two weeks of consecutive studying to cover up whatever it is that i spend three months studying(i'm not exaggerating)...,I'm a slow reader hence i take things bit by bit over a period of time(not really good with pressure/last minute rush),i need more time to get things done than she does. We've both come to term with the fact that we are different when it comes to studying style. If i choose to emulate her style, then im in for a real shocker shocked(na my result go tell me angry) and she on the other hand cant just cope with mine. The bottomline is****MAN KNOW THY SELF****, what works for A might not work for B.

meipsum1: Good evening Drs and Med Students in the house. I have been following this thread enthusiastically. I salute Sir Lagusta, Aluta Continua, Charley Med, Dr Gboy and everyone. Pls I need your help. I'm a pre-clinical Med student in a Nigeria University. I really want to know how many HOURS OF SLEEP PER DAY is deemed necessary for a MEDICAL STUDENT. I have been coming across alot of articles on sleep recently and I am afraid that I am not sleeping enough. The side effects of inadequate sleep in those articles are really scary. Sir Lagusta( you are already a Doctor), how many hours per day did you use to sleep when you were in Medical school? Other Drs and Medical Students in the house, pls CONTRIBUTE. Thanks.
Sleep is very important as we all know, but in Med.Sch something has to give. I discovered i couldnt cover much if i'm to adhere judiciously to the 6=8hrs minimum sleep time requirement per day.
The longest i can sleep is 4hrs per day and thats after classes from 6-10pm,any time after 10pm to 4am is for studying although with short breaks in between for internet stuff. It's almost impossible for me to sleep at night and i also find it difficult to study in the day time, so i do my sleeping in the evening and stay up all night. This routine works perfectly for me.

Quit worrying about whether you are getting enough sleep or not, sleep when you need to.
Just try to balance things up... even though i know there is no such thing as balance in med.sch/pract(sth always gives). sad sad or rather, just live with it.
