What do u gain from spliting ...we are bound to have issues ...culture is another issues in africa as big as every continent african has the most diversed people on earth 3000 language's while other continent have only four or two....this was the failure of our foredsthers to unite us all and speak one language for unification ....now we understand ourself and have one goal for betterments lets drop culture outside its a set back....but if biafra did fight for nigeria to end corruption they will be no need for thier spliting the corruption reminds us that we are originally different.... Os there any bigger difference between a back man and a white man but yet they stay together then why cant we leave together
I am from Edo State like you but I am not comfortable with this your unity begging.
Edos are not known with unity begging.
In fact the first ever proponent of session in Nigeria is an Edo man Anthony Enahoro.

The greatest risk in life to not to take risk..i know you have not heard of this before..so that's why you Yourbas have not failed cause cowards are always scared to take risk

We fought your master for three years and half..it will always be in Nigeria history(Nigerian Biafra war)

We are better than you people in everything
We can open the page if you want..cause am game

So when you talk about intelligence I see none
As per the bolded, you Igbos are the actual Fulanis' slaves. Remember you guys enslaved the entire South under them when you decided to play second fiddle to them at independence through the ill-fated NPC-NCNC coalition in which your grand patron Dr. Azikiwe sold his birthright to be Nigeria's first Prime Minister in exchange for the subordinate slave position of rubber stamp Governor General to a far less educated Balewa.

Even when you fail to impregnate your wife, definitely Tinubu must me held responsible for that. Ironically for children of hate like you. Tinubu has never been President of Nigeria neither was he a Deputy President.
The only state Tinubu has presided has been a yardstick/ template for every state to follow. Wouldn't you rather hold ObJ, a 3 time president of Nigeria and Atiku 8 yrs VP responsible?
You dey mind them? He has forgotten that the Obasanjo whose anti-Tinubu pontifications he relishes also committed the same 'crime' of supporting Buhari - the very 'crime' for which he wants Tinubu's head.

If you think anyone can rule Lagos and do no wrong on account of Lagos' wealth, then how come you term Tinubu's rulership of Lagos a failure?

If his support for Buhari is your grouse with him, then why have you forgotten that he also supported Jonathan in 2011? And in any case did he hold Nigerians'fingers to thumbprint for Buhari on election day?
Take it or leave it Tinubu contributed immensely to the death of military rule and the ushering in of this democracy which Obasanjo, an undeserving ultimate beneficiary, pontificates about. While Tinubu risked his life fighting on behalf of Nigerians for the restoration of democracy this Ota ape was busy telling us that Abiola (the symbol of the whole struggle) was not the Messiah as if we told him we needed one.

@ the bolded. You well so. Why do most of you kids think people against the state police support one Nigeria. IPOB and their warped mind will not cease to amaze me. If you have travelled to most states in Nigeria, tell me one state where the ordinary citizens in the street support one Nigeria. North or south. Such things only exist in the internet. I'm talking about how a useless policy might endanger my life, you are talking of one Nigeria. Look at the SARS for example. How are you enjoying them? State govts don't have money to pay staffs whether security or not. The reality is that when you give a man a gun and consistently make him sad, he will one day vent his anger on you and the disaster you are seeing now will be like child's play compare to what you will see

Although I'm still waiting to read the full bill cause I trust the senate would have also seen the problems am talking about and there should be steps to handle such crisis if it emerges
You are obviously demented enough to assume that whoever is against "one-Nigeria" in its present fraudulent and lopsided form must be an IPOBian. Before you make conclusions a NL member's ethnic origin or ideological leanings common sense dictates that you first read through some of his posts on other topics. But you obviously lack this common sense.

On the first bolded: I guess this menace of Fulani Herdsmen doesn't endanger your life, right? You must be a Fulani man yourself therefore.
Isn't it silly that you fear the danger of a system we started with at independence and got good results but are okay with an opposite system which has evidently contributed to the present insecurity and its sustenance?

For the second bolded: Are SARS not still an arm of the current centralized police? What you fail to realize is that police brutality and extrajudicial murders by them is encouraged by the fact that policemen operate in areas where they have no family or cultural ties to the natives courtesy of the centralized system. A SARS police from the South posted to the North could easily kill an innocent Northerner because deep down in him he views a Northerner as an alien to whom he really doesn't owe any moral duty obligation. Can a SARS officer operating in his hometown or LGA of origin be so brutal in his duties knowing fully well that he will never be transferred away from there?

On the third bolded; your likes complain that the security votes governors collect are too humongous for them not to be allowed to spend without giving account yet you assume states have not enough funds to run their own security outfits. How contradictory!
With N4b security vote available to every governor judiciously and transparently spent on state police, do you think any of them will be hungry enough to become trigger happy? Where do you place the fact that those recruited will be graduates and will undergo a lot of tests on emotions handling rather than through the one-Nigeria quota system and who-you-know means?
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result amounts to insanity.

My people re basically traders, if they all return to open Shops who buys From who..
The bolded is just one of the Nigerian stereotypes. In actual fact every tribe has majority of their men and women involved in retail trading. Tell me which single tribe is renowned for majority of its natives having white collar jobs or employed in the extractive industry?

The only difference is that all other tribes' retail traders are based at home unlike those of Igbo extraction.

The problem you highlighted is what many are not seeing. We are about to move from frying pan to fire. Let's take the state NEC for example, how many of them have been able to conduct elections since inception and those that conducted the elections, were they free and fair? Today most people are agitating that LGA elections are returned back to federal because states are not credible. A situation where more than half of the states in Nigeria cannot comfortably pay their workers. We arr talking of something like this. Before we changed to federal police what were the problems we encountered with regional police. An example is that during election, opposition were arrested on flimsy or no reason at all. Can we guarantee that something of this nature will cease? Saraki and his mates have been trying but until I see the complete bill this might just be more problems
Unfortunately, the bigger problem you are not seeing is the capacity of this currently ongoing bloodshed in the Middle Belt to disintegrate Nigeria which you so love. How will elections be held at all under perpetual massacres let alone being rated credible or otherwise on account of which kind of police supervised it?

So now, are these issues of SIEC's failure which comes to the fore just once in four years more important than the need to stem the current bloodletting which occurs daily? And how disciplined has the FG itself been in its use of the federal police? Was it not this same centralized police that was used to rig presidential and guber elections by Obasanjo in pursuit of his do or die elections?

I hope this issue of state police is well thought out, our politicians are not matured enough for each state governors to be put in command of their various states' police, imagine a state official who commits a crime with the backing of the governor and the federal police is on his trail then the the state police under the command of the governor is used to shield him from arrest. and during election governors can use them to intimidate opponents.
Is this consideration more important than the need to put an end to this daily massacre of innocents by aliens? Elections happen seasonally, but these killings are happening everyday.

The senate should critically examine the risks associated with establishing these forces.

Certainly, settling for a local security force that is knowledgeable about the terrain of the surrounding and the culture of the people would be an added advantage. It would further create an opportunity for matching the number of security personnels required to the average population of people settled in the locality to be covered.

However, we should also evaluate the impact of this possible development on our country as a whole. We are a people of many differences. With the separatist movement in the south and atrocious killings in the north, we don't need drivers that would further break us apart, rather we need to focus on things that would help us stick closer - united in our awesome diversity.

Though we bow to the pressure of economic/political/what-have-you restructuring, the structure for security in Nigeria should maintained and controlled only by the FG.

The core values held by the citizenry serve as indicators that prove that we aren't yet ready for a decentralised security structure.

#God bless my country.
# Soldier come, Soldier go, Barrack remain.
# Education shines the light.
A regionalized army is what makes separatist movements result oriented.

When Ojukwu declared secession he did not hope to rely on the Eastern Region's police to defend it but the Eastern wing of the Nigerian Army which had assumed a Regional status.

This bill will affect the Igbos negatively. They are more outside their states. The locals will use the state police against them and they may not have anybody to complain to. Abroad where this state police work, the people see themselves as one. They speak same language, have common culture and way of life. In Nigeria and many African countries, we see ourselves as different - different languages, culture, religion etc. I will rather advise that more personnel be employed into the police force and policemen and officers be as much as possible posted to their state of origin.
Igbos like most other Southerners have been asking for restructuring which state police is a cardinal feature of. So why this volte face?
Moreover we had regional police in the first republic and diaspora Igbo security interests were not threatened unlike it is now.

Note: religion would Play a major role in setting Up state police in Some States nd I am sure we both know Rights Would be Trampled on..

Every thing with merit has its demerits..
As for the bolded, it will likely be the case only in Core Northern States. That will signal the need for Southerners resident in the Core North to return home and contribute to the development of their own states thus demographic restructuring.

So Rogue governors like Gov Wicked of Rivers state will now control their police as well?

Am I the only one seeing this as a plot for corrupt governors to use police machinery to influence elections in 2019?

What of states owing workers salaries? How can they be trusted to adequately fund the police?
'I have heard the argument that state police could be abused by governors for electoral heist. But is that more important than the people dying everyday courtesy of the failed centralized police? There are democracy institutions that can address instances of abuse of state police by the governors but there are no institutions known to bring dead persons back to life.'..... Babatunde Fashola

Reading thru certain post here, Its clear to see and also believe that most Nigerians are BAD people.
A few from amongst us here have a very ill disposed attitude and are ungrateful !!
Heaven knows that all my post (including the revelations), was NEVER with an intent to deceive. ...not even a single one of them.
Having some strong market/in-house contacts, I try to reveal what I hear or know and also guide with the necessary insider information ahead of time, so everyone can benefit from them.
I wasn't doing them in expectation of any kind of reward in return. (don't need any from anyone)
...I was doing them because I sincerely wouldn't wish for any investor to experience what I went thru between 2008 and 2014. ...especially the not-so-knowledgeable ones.
I still remember losing nearly 74M (over 40% of which, were funds that was put under my control to manage as at the time) from the share price fall of OCEANIC BANK and many moribund INSURANCE COYS and over 9M from the Govts ill decision to nationalize AFRIBANK. ...including other heavy and very painful losses.
My quest on NOT to wish those bitter experiences to any human, informed my decision and resolve to improve my financial know-how and also help with guiding as many as I could.
Those who know me and who have in one way or the other benefited from the many advise I gave them, can testify that I NEVER accept to receive any gift or money from anyone. ...not even when they plead with me to accept one.
...I simply tell them to try and extend unto others what I have done to them. (pay it forward)
However, I can now see that some bad eggs here are very UNGRATEFUL, ILL-HEARTED and of a BAD DISPOSITION.
It just downed on me that I should've taken the advise of 2 or 3 friends here before now.
...my good deeds have now turned against me !!

I shall do well to learn from this going forward.
I believe you should be able to separate the Ingrates from the cynics.
Not everyone here is cynical about your revelations. Your revelation about AIICO seems being confirmed already. This and many others are enough to convince any lover of success in this market that your messages are altruistic.
Don't let the verbal recklessness of a few blind you to the quiet appreciation of the majority here.

Long term outlook in Nigeria is most times counterproductive. The worst aspect is that the company in which one invests for long term could just one day close up or get nationalized overnight. The cases of Bank PHB, Afribank and Spring Bank being nationalized by SLS three months before the deadline he himself had earlier fixed for those banks to shore up capital base coupled with the impunity he enjoyed from both the courts and FG for such callous act is enough lesson for any one thinking long terming is a guarantee for breakthrough.
