I saw a thief in action two days ago. It happened at the main gate of a 4-Star hotel called BEGONIA hotel in Oyo town. The hotel is located along Oyo-Ibadan expressway.

About 8:20 pm that day, I was passing by the main gate of the said hotel when a guy standing in front of the gate signalled to me for a ride; I'm into Okada riding business. The street was without any passerby at the time except me, who was loitering to pick up passengers. The guy asked me to wait and he quickly went back into the hotel and resurfaced about 3 seconds later with a loaded 50 litres jerrican probably filled with diesel or engine oil. He quickly sat on my bike, dragged the jerrican, and placed it on the passenger's foot rack.

"Speed off in this direction", he shouted at me without telling me his destination let alone giving me the chance to negotiate the price for the journey.

"To where?" I asked.

"Express", he shouted at me again with the air of mounting irascibility.

That 'Express' he mentioned is a trailer park along the expressway, a thriving market for bunkered petroleum products. The direction he asked me to take was not straightforward. We had to follow some obscure streets before getting back to the expressway.

Then the insults began when he asked me to increase speed. I told him I was being cautious to avoid an accident because his heavy load was not balanced and I was using great efforts to steer the bike to safety. Then he said other riders have been engaging in high speed despite the load with ease.

Speaking my mother's tongue, "Your ilk should never be found as an Okada rider because only old men approaching the grave ride this way. I needed to get out of sight within split-seconds and you were acting like a dumb rider", he said.

He later asked me to stop in front of a shop, took the loaded jerrican inside and came back 5 minutes later. He told me his new destination, while raining more invectives on me. I had to be patient with him so that he could pay his transport fare in full -- someone that could boldly steal in a location with CCTV cameras may decide not to pay to me the amount of money I was yet to tell him. You don't need a soothsayer to tell you that the guy, in connivance with an insider, just stole something from the hotel.

I checked the hotel's website for a contact through which I can report the theft or whatever that is, and I found an email and phone numbers probably under the manager's control. If they are putting their CCTV to good use, they won't need me to report the theft. I was not trying to report the theft as a good citizen; I needed to get back at the thief because of the insults I suffered without being able to reply him. Good riddance!

the only thing I pick from this ur story is that this country is finished. An educated man who can read and write in this manner, Is now forced to ride Okada for a living.

I have been married for almost a year but my marriage has been 30% sweet and mostly 70% bitter because I have an unforgiven wife who is ONLY concerned about what I said and did wrong but NEVER concern about what I did right.

She gets offended easily, keeps malice and gives me silent treatment at home. I've had private conversation with her MORE THAN 10 TIMES on how to find a lasting solution to wherever issues she has with me instead of her constant fault finding and malice. B4 we got married, we had quarrel and misunderstandings as other couples do and said abusive words to ourselves which we settled b4 our wedding day and I assume we have forgiven and forgotten about it. But with the look of things, my wife is tied to the past and will keep remembering what I said and did wrong in the past and she allows the past deed affect our present.

Sadly, her unforgiving attitude and never ending resentment is badly affecting our marriage presently. I have tried everything possible within my capacity to rekindle back her love for me & for the sake of our marriage and 3 months baby boy. I suggested that we go out to a cool place just the two of us alone but her response is NO. She even said I can go out and have sex with anyone that she doesn't want SEX for now.

NOTE: I am the one paying all the bills at home coz she's presently jobless. Yet, I am not complaining. She is not stressed up as some may think coz there are helpers at home taking care of her and the baby. Please! What can I do to put a stop to this shit. It's affecting my emotion and psychology.

Good evening dear all, I am a guy around 30years, learnt draftsmanship and then went ahead to obtain a Diploma in Architectural technology.
I have been practicing for years now and I must say I'm good at what I do,at least I make money from the drawings, building executions and supervisions. I have read countless times how lucrative and the prospect coding and programming comes with in this age.
The question is, I have obtained the HND form of Federal polytechnic Ado but there's this program I registered for online and I have been selected out many appliccants to be part of the 50 persons that would be trained for 4 months for 7 days a week,(Monday to Wednesday virtual classes and Thursday to Sunday physical classes)
note: this comes with stipends but the bone of contention is once given admission for HND it would be upheaval to run such a program with my academics because Architecture itself comes with lots of commitments.
Extra.. During my ND days, I couldn't keep a girlfriend because Architecture no be your mate, outta about 120 of us, we had just 6 females and many didn't graduate with us because of their complacency.
Please i could make use of advices.

Again, would you advise build own personal house (duplex) first or build a 3-deck house for rentage before building own personal house?

u don't need to save the total sum before you start. Reasons being that prices of things changes by the day in this country. In June last year 16mm rod was sold for #3300 and cement about #2600 but now they are #7800 and 4600 respectively. Assuming the total cost of that building was estimated to be 20m last year now it would be 40m meaning that u will still have to save another 20m to make 40m and don't forget that it take time to save that money and there is a very high probability that the price will also increase. So if u go by saving the Money u may end up not building the house.
If u really want to build, determine ur cost in stages. Fist know the cost of the foundation. You can even break that into 2 by grouping excavation, amount of rod, cost of blinding as one stage. The next stage would be to lay block to DPC this important because if it is not done ontime the trench will collapse.
This stage might just take like 4 to 5 months of that ur savings. Then begin feeling of the foundation and casting for DPC this might take 1 and a half or 2 months saving too. After this level u can be laying ur block monthly till u get to decking. At this point u need a bulk money. I don't know the size of ur building, but you won't be spending less 4m on this stage this means u need about 12 months savings. It is not going to be easy but the bottom line is for to just start.
