Very very sad indeed! God will deal with the killers. These so called leaders of the north are so pretencious. They have haboured BH for so long and may have been sponsoring them for political gain. Its payback time and they will all be exposed. The north has lost it politically. Their greed for power made them to incite religious war, just as they tried to use sharia to cease power from an elected OBJ. Okupe was right that Tinubu has committed suicide by thinking he could align some religious extremists in the north to win elections. |
nuclearboy: Sorry but this is NOT a good moveHe has been calm all this while and you guys said he was weak. Now he has wielded the big stick and you want us to think he is too drastic. |
Asari is talking to Nigerians! Buhari is talking to Nigerians! Tinubu is talking to Nigerians! Femi Falana is talking to Nigerians! Several Nigerians are talking! Meanwhile His Excellency is keeping quiet! That is why Asari feels free to fill the vacuum! Period! |
Good that you mentioned the DONTS. What are the DOS? |
And the Governor claimed there was no cause for alarm! Amazing! Do we wait until the whole nation is consumed? Are we so cruel that we no longer hold life as sacred? When you want to increase the price of PMS we start to compare Nigeria with America. If you did not know, Boston bombing claimed THREE lives and the whole nation rose up against it. Entire Boston airspace was shut. The city was shut down. Security search took place door to door and within a week the culprits were caught dead and alive! Do we still have a country? Or perhaps the only things that matter now are 2015 and the sharing of the national cake! Where is Nigeria headed? |
A nation under siege! That is what we are right now. And may God deliver us quickly. Perhaps, half of the fortune of the country is committed to making sure there is no new insurgency in the Niger-Delta, while the North East is now bent on taking the other half! Who knows what South East or South West will come up with? And something is happening in the Middle Belt (Nassarawa et al) that we are yet to understand! Anyway, this matter demands thorough check and clarification and if it is true that the committee lied, then the whole exercise has failed ab initio. |
If a Nigerian did this in Iran what would have happened? |
The problem with you people is that anything that appears to give you an inch is welcome, if you want to go the whole 10 yards you need to skip a few of the inches and try to do things that give you more bang for your buck. That is to say that just like communism this sounds like a good idea but in practice we are not making any real headway. There are 170 million people in Nigeria, do you think that building a shipyard that will employ maybe 5 to 10 thousand people aids them better than creating an enabling business environment for tens of millions of people to start their own businesses and employ even more. Is the president going to build all our offices and factories for us, do you think that when the history channel is airing "the men who built america" they show american presidents? The men who build america are people like Rockefeller and Ford. Then there is all that talking about national cake, we don't need the president to feed us, we need him to enable us to feed ourselves and that is the only way it works, that robust economy you speak of, it is built by working men and not presidents.
Let the people continue to dance in the market square when they hear sweet-talk from politicians! During the Oil subsidy protest, one minister told us how she will use the savings to construct 11,000km of roads and connect the whole country with modern rail network during 20112. This is 2013, and we are still waiting for the first kilometer of road! We have become very gullible indeed. We have not been able to create environments for bicycle to be manufactured (Raleigh in Kano died several years ago due to lack of enabling environ) but we think we can build ships. What a dream? No insult meant on the president, and with all due respect just give us affordable electricity. |
When you read comments on NL sometimes you will be left with no option than to weep for Nigeria. Politicians are getting the better part of us now, by just TALKING about the dreams they had last night! We are told of one dream and people start jumping all over the place as if it had happened! Where is the blueprint? Where will it be located? Which private sector? Where will they get the funds from? Is this a viable project in the first place? We are forever being told of the foreign investors that are 'rushing' to Nigeria but we are yet to be told where their offices are and how many factories they have established to produce cars, furniture or even toothpicks! may be they are referring to Chinese 'investors' who come into Nigeria with Ten Thousand dollars and a pair of shorts and polo shirt but make enough rip-off to be able to repatriate One million dollars back to China after 2 years. Foreign investors indeed! We are being fed with lies and grandiose dreams and people are dancing in the market, forgetting that they have not had light for 4 days and they dont even know where to find the next meal. Soon, they will tell us to expect a mansion each in a new estate they plan to build on Atlantic Ocean! What a pity? Until we learn to make our governments accountable, we will just be moving in circles. |
homerac7: what was the purpose of Nigerdock?Thank you o jare. With less than 2 years to go, oga had better focussed on solving the power and the security challenges, and also try to create enough accountability in government, by curbing corruption. If we go by feelers, the government is today perceived as encouraging corruption on a massive scale. Please leave private sector to pursue its own projects. If the market prospects are good, you would not need to lecture private sector on investing in there, as they are already constantly sniffing around for opportunities. May God give our president the wisdom to see clearly and to prioritize. |
Demo-crazy (demonstration of craze)or democracy? What is Nigeria practising? |

Nigerians leaders remain VERY POOR students of history! |
Please investigate Abati as well! let us see if he will come clean! |
Uhn! |
There are obviously some errand boys of Abats, Reno and Okups monitoring NL 24 hours and defending GEJ without shame. They are usually the first, the second and the third to comment and they write to pointlessly defend GEJ. If your report sheet is good you wont need to be writing long stories like Reno just wrote. There wont be need for rejoinders. GEJ's so called special assistants are his worst enemies. They are making him loose popularity out there everyday. Ask Obama, when you do well people will appreciate it. But when you perform poorly, you will only have MEDIA assistants to write long stories and rejoinders day after day. |
It is possibly because we dont ever have light and for the fact that there are up to one million gen sets making noise and emitting poisonous gas to the air every second! There are also the notorious LASTMA and VIO who stop and harrass on the roads. |
iPad, good for play and soft work. PC good for a lot of work requiring documents. He is right in some sense. The PC will not go away that easy! I use my PC daily but iPAD occasionally. |
World Bank, would you retain this rating when NOI, the former World Bank MD leaves office? |
Great job. He should be succeeded by a level headed but highly professional manager. Moyes will fit. Dont go for any 'special one' that is only interested in building his CV and will flee after 2 or 3 seasons and leave behind a disjointed club. |
I believe so too. This is why Nigeria needs divine intervention. Why is it that the good leaders dont make it there and when they do they dont last? Why? |
One should not attempt to analyze the scriptures as if you are in a word laboratory. If you do, you may end up spreading errors....! What is wrong a person giving his one-tenth to God? What is wrong with a pastor asking his congregation to offer their one-tenth to God? |
Dont take to the advice of people asking you to oblige. Dont start a journey that will leave you with plenty scars. What if you agree and he still fails you because he wants you to do it again and again? Tell your parents. Record his conversations. get enough evidence in your hands. Then turn the battle around! Most lecturers dont want to loose their jobs because many of them are arrogant and unemployable outside the university. You may need to watch your actions also, perhaps you may have done something to suggest to him that you are available! Some girls leave their cleavages exposed all the time and they wonder why some lecturers come after them. I really hope that is not your case. Never too late to change. Ask God to help you. Prayer works. |
The more you threaten the more you get! These folks may be preparing to be awarded another round of mega amnesty doles! Nigeria will stand. Its enemies will fall. Amen. |
Another display of incompetence. |
Mission Impossible Charlie's Angels Nine O clock news |
Village Headmaster. Music and drama had quality and rich content in those days, but the actors never got the right compensation. Today, you have the opposite where music and drama is about NOISE and N-U-D-I-T-Y, and the players make all the money. Tells you that TV can indeed be a tool of construction as well as destruction. It is left to use what we use it for. |
Brilliant! In the recent past, has the leadership of labor really fought for the laborers? I doubt immensely! Their rosy cheeks suggest otherwise. |
slimghost: Its so obvious that the Amaechi led government recognizes Obuah as the PDP chairman with the manner they released the press conference after that ultimatum was given. Its funny seeing yoruba people here talking about what they know not, I even read where a fool posted that Amaechi is in charge of the grassroot structure. What a fallacious statement! For their info, Wike has total control of the party's grassroot structure and that's how Amaechi was able to defeat Omehia and co in the last elections. Wike is the brain behind every everyHISTORY 101 - The world has since moved on! |
Pathetically Deceitful People (PDP) at it again! Nonsense.... |
EU, THANK YOU SO MUCH. EXACTLY MY THOUGHT. THE PROBLEM IN NIGERIA IS THAT NIGERIANS HAVE ACCEPTED TO BE FOOLED BY CORRUPT LEADERS. SOMEONE SAID, GEJ JUST GIVE US LIGHT AND WE WILL BE HAPPY. AND I JUST SAY TO MYSELF, WHAT RUBBISH! OUR COUNTRY WILL GROW WHEN THOSE IN LEADERSHIP ACCOUNT FOR EVERY CENT OF THE WEALTH OF THE COUNTRY. 100% ACCOUNTABILITY IS WHAT WE MUST ASK FOR. |
This is worse than BOKO HARAM! |
No country like Nigeria in the whole world. The country is under siege. The corruption that we are reading about, if true, is capable of doing 1000 times more harm to the future of Nigeria than Boko Haram. |
