Amazing! 100 level students seeking 'greener' pastures! |
GraceBestowed: I agree! When you have to be in ten different countries in the space of six or seven days, being able to determine your own travel schedule is necessary.I agree with you. Let God be the judge. I actually marvel at our reasoning. The MD of NNPC travels around with a jet acquired on taxpayers back and no one complains. Why develop so much bad belle because someone else is making progress? If you have the means to acquire a jet good if you have one, if not, God bless those who can. There was a time people abused those who acquired Mercdes Benz, but they stopped abusing the moment they acquired theirs. I pray that many more people will have the means to buy jets, and i pray they use it for a good cause like evangelism. |
Ogbeche77: But sir, the pope is the leader of over 1 billion catholics worldwide, yet he boards a commercial jet liner. If my memory has not failed me,Pope Benedict visited Benin republic two years ago on Air ItaliaThere is possibly not a lot of demand for the pope to travel around. A church like the Redeemed Christian Church of God is massively evangelizing to countries. There are thousands of churches around the world who would wish and who are inviting the GO of RCCG and that is the difference. Let God be the judge in this matter. The GO of RCCG and the church has been a blessing to Nigeria's image in more than 100 countries, yet we never learn to appreciate our own. Let god be the judge. Let us not compare people. Round pegs do not fit into square holes! |
How? The agency of government can do good going a step further telling the people what steps to take? Should they move to their villages in the South East or should they start buying parachutes? |
Village boy meets village girl but they got married in the city! |
Abomination! |
Clean honest and always releasing fresh air! |
They can talk their nonsense and sleep and snore all day and all night. We need to start to collate tragedies related to PHCN failure and then perhaps we will wake up to reality. - 3 men died a few days ago due to smoke from generator. - Too many people are rushing to clinics in the last one month due to high blood and some are not making it back home. How long do we sit with this mess? How long do we sit and watch as our leaders corruptly enrich themselves at the expense of public good, while common people wallow in poverty and deprivation. Abdusalam said a few days ago that Nigeria is sick and needs urgent attention - He was right! There is no light anywhere. There is too much stress in the land. All we hear from government are abati and okupe insults! |
Government in coma. You only hear Abati and Okupe insulting our common intelligence. All others are SNORING! Why cant GEJ and Sambo just allow Okonjoa Iweala to run government and they can just sit behind the scene? Dear LORD, we cannot continue like this, please save us. |
Afam4eva: Is this supposed to be a joke? Even if you go to there office, they can't help you, how much more calling them. That's if they have a line that is functional. How can they help when they themselves do not have light? |
May be they have a disservice unit! When you go to their office don't be surprised that they are as well using candles and lanterns to work! |
US government, don't you know me? I am the Oga at the top! The man probably thought he was talking to his driver or mai guard! |
Bad leaders will always show bad behaviours. Silly 'big man syndrome' in a country that cannot boast of consistent power supply to its people for just 24 hours and where the president's wife will fly to foreign hospitals for common ailments. |
UnSURE-P! |
There are more than ten thousand pastors in Nigeria, most of them unknown. First, do not judge any man so that you will not be judged. Second, do not use the yardstick of popularity to measure tthe things of God. Only God know those that are His. |
Abati sounds very patriotic and transparent here. Can he also declare his assets for all to see? Perhaps that will silence all his critics! |
Clerverly: Mr. Amaechi, you are not saying all. What about 2015?He is entitled to contest 2015 and he really does not need to talk that with anybody. In fact, why not Amaechi for 2015? Nigeria needs some radical change and we need leaders with exposure and brilliance like Amaechi. We do not need another 'go slow' president in 2015. |
I hope he does not contest. I pray he does not even win the primaries. |
Let's not forget that there are also many nigerian professionals doing well in south africa. South africa is a very violent society. Jo'boug is particularly notorious for crime. I know that even the police in SA cannot be trusted. A friend, visiting the country for the first time for a conference, was robbed in the toilet by a policeman right there at oliver Tambo airport. True, there are lots of nigerians (most of them from SE) in Jo'bourg who are plain criminals but we should also not forget that these nigerians are just a fraction of the the criminals there - south african citizens constitute the bulk of the criminals.I am not condoning crime by nigerians, pls. My advice is that if u dont have any serious biz to do in South africa dont venture there because criminal syndicates(including police)target nigerians arriving in the country (sometime ago a man arriving from nigeria was followed from the airport and robbed at the reception of his hotel in Jo'bourg). Personally, I prefer naija a million times to SA.
We are sometimes too quick to defend ourselves as Nigerians. Bet you, some Nigerians are really really painting us bad in SA and other countries. Even here at home, there is no limit to the evil imaginations of SOME Nigerians to defraud. SA is hostile to Nigerians today because it seems that SOME Nigerians have raised crime (particularly financial crimes) to another level in that country. We need to pray to God to change us. |
Sibrah: The loot will be looted anyway, so no biggie. They must have started their nocturnal meetings on how to share the loot since the news came out. It is like we have a rare disease called 'Lootosiasis' that seem to affect only African leaders! |
If dialogue is not the answer, what is? |
A country with immense oil and gas reserves, plenteous agricultural opportunities and beyond that, first class human capital should be doing better, but for the poor leadership we have. |
Arise oh committee.....! |
But can somebody here please tell us what the solution is to BH? Can military force do it? Or should we live with the problem as this administration once said? |
Oh, there was a country! |
Achebe gave a final parting shot after many decades of struggle. In his words 'There was a country'! Our politicians are working hard to fulfil that word...May they not succeed! Akpabio has surprised many people indeed. |
Amnesty for BH worth trying out and I feel BH will stop once GEJ drops 2015 idea. |
Recycling per excellence! |
Is this statement also one of the many Abatic lies? Did they not tell us madam patience was not sick only for the madam to come and give thanksgiving for 'coming back from the dead'? |
Stupid comparison. We like to glory in the past in this country. The only time we are influential anywhere is when they want to share our oil. Outside Oil, no one has ears for us. Wake up people! Our country has been crippled by corrupt and inept leadership. The country is like a patient in EMERGENCY ward and we are still talking influence. What influence or power do you have when you are lying down as a patient in emergency ward, more so, when one of your doctors that will treat you is a country called South Africa? |
The major difference perhaps is that in Britain you get the services you pay for but here in Nigeria, there are hardly any services in the first place. You have to buy your own power generating sets and pay otedola every day for diesel, you buy phone credits and before you even finish loading your GSM provider has debited you, and when you make calls, you must expect it to cut off anytime. You must have at least 3 modems - SWIFT, UGO, Etisalat, Glo Bolt, Airtel etc. They all promise to be super fast, but you have not seen anything yet until you use. You will be fortunate if you one working at all. You pay for your own security. And more....Pray you do not fall victim of any of the vices, BH, MEND eetc, because those who have lost all their fortune to these vices NEVER get any compensation. The government would rather compensate BH than compensate the victims. Welcome to Naija. |
So, who gave the directive? |
