Crime › Re: Arrested Pickpocket Steals Policewoman's N1,200 While In Police Custody (Photo) by delpee(f): 12:02am On May 28, 2018 |
Jakumo: There is no cause for alarm. The money was needed by this creative gentleman in order to settle some medical and cosmetic surgery bills already overdue for payment in Spain and Dubai.
As all Nigerians are fully aware, there happens to be a YUUUGE difference between outright stealing of money from government bank accounts, on one hand, and ALLOCATING a few million dollars of government money for medical treatment, on the other hand, to cite a convenient example.
This case of 1,200 naira stolen from policemen by a suspect while in custody is clearly a case of fiscal RE-ALLOCATION, necessitated by the need to cover outstanding invoiced medical, recreational and carnal expense statements totaling substantive amounts owed as debts by the subject.
It is therefore essential that the suspect be released on his own recognizance forthwith, and all charges withdrawn, so as to discourage the filing of compensatory lawsuits by solicitors representing the suspect, seeking damages to penalize the brazen defamation of character directed at the complainant. Your message is clear though funny. |

Education › Re: Falz And His Shenanigan Lamentations Against Nigerian Church Universities by delpee(f): 3:03pm On May 27, 2018 |
There's no need for all these arguments really. We all know how bad the situation would have been if the Church didn't start building universities at the time they did.
The private universities award scholarships to deserving indigent students. Babcock for instance takes care of those who lose parents while in school. The Adelekes award many scholarships to indigent students in their university.
In any case, the poor can decide not to pay tithes so that they don't help the rich inadvertently abi. Sadly it won't help them. The reality is that it will not stop the work of God. His divine purpose will always be fulfilled. |

Time bomb! How will the FG tell a fisherman that he no longer has free access to the river in his village which has been his family's only source of livelihood for decades?
The years of the military have done us more harm than good. This unitary government started by Gen. Ironsi and extended by others after him is taking us nowhere. We'll be happier together if we can sit to discuss the terms by which we should live together in a fair and reasonable manner. The country certainly fared better under regional rule and development was consistent due to the competitive approach to governance. God provided adequate resources in every part of this country but most are untapped due to complex laws that limit the States and LGs.
Over centralisation of power is the bane of our society. This law could worsen the situation. I pray that this law is not passed as presented here. It could mark the beginning of doomsday for the average poor people in the Delta and riverine areas. |

I still don't understand why the nearby Arab nations especially Jordan can't take in the Palestinians. Egypt their next door neighbour dines with them with a very long spoon. I wonder why the rich Arab nations never take in those in distress as refugees. They'll rather label Europeans and others as being unaccomodating when they refuse immigrants/refugees.
What stops Saudi Arabia and other rich Gulf states from resettling some of the trapped Palestinians in other Arab States? They prefer to encourage them to be 'matyrs' while they enjoy their oil wealth in peace.
Israel has some faults yet the Palestinians need to do a rethink. This is not a religious war. There are Jewish Arabs and Christians living peacefully in Israel. There are also Palestinian Christians. Yasser Arafat was married to one. The struggle is for the land but Israel won't disappear into thin air. They have to learn to live together in peace against all odds. |

Hitokiri: Kanye has a point. It took White people to free the Blackman from slavery. Why couldn't they band together and break free? Well I guess it's because of same bickering and infighting that has kept Africa and Nigeria in neo-slavery till today. Read about Slave rebellions. You'll understand better. |
Politics › Re: Senator Shehu Sani Invites Kanye West To Visit Slave Ports In Africa by delpee(f): 11:27pm On May 04, 2018 |
AnonyNymous: Lol
You see something about me, I'm always on the "wrong side" of popular opinion.
As for Kanye West. I don't agree with anyone calling him an Uncle Tom. AKA a "House N*****". Basically, a black man that supports racist whites. And I think you must be really stupid if you think he is one, because all through his career, he's always made a point about how he, as a descendant of former slaves, made it in life.
Now to the topic. He said, "You know, after 400 years, it starts to seem like a choice". I think you should watch the whole video for context. It helps.
His point was pretty obvious. On the plantations in the Southern parts of the United States, where slavery was predominant, over time they'd grown to a LAGRE population and outnumbered the whites controlling them. I mean, the population ratio was probably like 50 blacks to one white supervisor. They had the physical strength. And they weren't chained anymore. What stopped them from launching a revolt and overthrowing their oppressors? There were revolts, but only by a few people while the rest of the scared slaves hid in fear of "Massa" (Master). Another thing that contributed to their fear was the religion they were taught. They were given Bibles and brainwashed. I mean, there are actual portions in the Bible where the "Almighty God" supposedly regulates slavery.
In essence, they were mentally enslaved as well, and therefore made the choice to remain in those shackles. Physical chains might take away choice from you, but when you're mentally enslaved, you have a choice to free yourself. You have a choice to wake up.
Harriet Tubman, a hero of the black slaves and possible face of a new US currency bill freed thousands of slaves through the "Underground Railroad". She made the CHOICE to emancipate herself from mental slavery and she escaped. She came back also, to free thousands of slaves. And she has a famous quote:
"I freed a thousand slaves, and I could've freed a thousand more, if only they KNEW they were slaves".
When listening to Kanye West (or anybody, for that matter) with an unprejudiced mind, the points he was trying to make were really clear. I'm happy that he made the effort to clarify himself AGAIN, on Twitter, but even at that most of the replies were unintelligent memes and people regurgitating the same "He said slavery is a choice blah blah blah". Only a someone with a 'half-brain' would actually think that he was implying that black men voluntarily chose to leave Africa to be enslaved in a strange land.
Unfortunately, there are too many dimwitted people in society today, who only feed on headlines and never apply critical reasoning to understand the content of the message being passed. We had a similar situation over here with the #LazyNigerianYouth hashtag. Please read about the Bahia Male revolt, Haiti revolution, Lukumis(olukumi, lucumi) and others. There were slave rebellions. Haitians succeeded somehow, most others failed. |
