Hardeyoye:I empathise with you but you should not allow anyone to deny you the right to vote. We need to persevere so we can have an opportunity to make our choice. |
Buy local rice and you won't have anything to complain about. There's Ebony, Lake, Ofada etc They're all better than the outdated (sometimes expired) chemically preserved rice that is usually imported for us to eat. |
Wickedness at it's worst! One needs to watch proceedings in the South African Parliament to see the beauty of democracy and free speech. Conversely, any dissenting voice in Nigeria becomes a target for oppression. We need to do away with the 'yes sir' mentality under any/every situation. Moreover, Gov. El Rufai disagreed with his bosses before and no one punished him to the best of my knowledge. I know Senator Hunkuyi may have broken the law but singling his houses out for demolition without any recourse to other means of settlement implies a deliberate attempt to ruin him. As a good Muslim, Gov. El Rufai should fear God and have a rethink for the sake of peace in Kaduna. |
Fine and smart boys! God bless them more. |
Please is the pawpaw organic? Is it red or yellow inside? I'm looking for a fast growing one that's close to our local pawpaw in terms of natural taste and if possible in appearance. |
This is really sad. May God rest their souls in peace. So many people have lost their lives in Zamfara yet there seems to be a conspiracy of silence. I pray that Nigeria doesn't go the way of Rwanda or Somalia. Too much lawlessness already. ![]() |
Interesting! |
What one sees on our roads now is so disgusting! This Dirtier Lagos scheme will transform into disaster when the rains come. Too much bad belle against his predecessors maybe. Lagos was already clean. Why did he have to change things? He was voted for continuity now he's destroying the foundation on which he should be building on. What's the purpose of building beautiful roads that will be overtaken by refuse and flood? Also great health challenges ahead. Poor people who can barely feed will now be looking for funds to cover medical expenses whether it's hospital or herb dealers. Village people will have more curses based on illnesses they know nothing about. ![]() It's not too late to rescind or modify the decision. After all its obvious that the Oyinbo contractors can't cope. Besides the other method was more community based, ensured cleanliness and created employment for our people. |
Siralgebra04:Thanks though you didn't answer the other questions. I think the pressure should be on the body of benchers not Nigeria Law School. This should have been done years ago without any drama. Her attending the dinners without hijab and insistence on having it on at the last stage is a bit inconsistent if true. By the way, I have nothing against hijab. Freedom of choice. Someone told me that Islam doesn't allow women to practice law and that the secular law is an aberration. I believe otherwise, that's why I asked. |
I don't gerrit. This level of discrimination in 2018! We complain that Trump hates blacks yet we don't love ourselves even within the same tribe. ![]() For those alluding to the spiritual, there's no problem that can't be resolved. God is more than able to deliver and to save those who trust in Him. |
Are there no Muslims in the body of benchers who can influence a change if required? Are students truly aware of this regulation early enough? Who knows if it is true that female lawyers are not allowed in the courts of law? Can they operate in Shariah courts? No bashing intended. I just want to know. |
This is sad! |
I still don't understand why the former system in place was scropped. The roads were swept clean everyday and the refuse packed. Now we only have Cleaner Lagos by word of mouth. ![]() |
Sad indeed |
Good job by the Police. |
Hmmm! An idea of their location will be helpful. |
@OP You're looking for BIG trouble and you have a very foolish friend or maybe a 'frenemy'. Read through the responses here. Your solution lies therein if you're wise. |
Can someone please post the registration centres nationwide here so people can see the options available within their LGAs? They should work on Saturdays to make it easy for workers. |
hollawaley2:This is so unfair! We complain of poor services yet people refuse to pay for the little that is available and have used. How do you expect the electricity company to break even and grow? |
OBJ was a young man when he was military Head of State. Same with Yakubu Gowon. Awo, Zik etc started politics as young men. Young people should join this movement and seize the opportunity to give them a chance to learn and build themselves politically. Be wise, grab this chance and turn it around in your favor to turn things around. You own the future, don't be cynical, don't get frustrated, do something positive to make our lives better. Slay on the political front and less on Instagram .You'll surely succeed to God's eternal glory. Amen Note: I know nothing about the movement except what I've read but i believe in making use of every opportunity. |
pretty16:Surprising really that a woman would abandon her son without looking back. The little boy is so cute. |
God bless Anja and her husband for the wonderful work that they're doing. |
I don't get it. Benue residents have been killing themselves? The native doctor killed the 70 people and carried out subsequent attacks? |
What does the watch do other than tell the time? My oold school thoughts though. ![]() People need to spend more on the less privileged. So many can barely feed not to mention having access to other basic needs. That amount of money will be sufficient to grant scholarships to many indigent students in our public universities or provide soft loans/ grants for the unemployed who are creative. His dad does so much of that anyway. |
How much are the paving stones per square metre? |
That's why in developed countries there's something called prenuptial agreement to avoid situations like this. If this is true, there's a chance that theres no love involved in this marriage. Sometimes it's difficult to blame rich families when they refuse to allow their children marry into poorer families. Situations like this aren't easy to deal with. @Op If you're sure of your facts, inform her family so they can guide her or find a way to hold on to their family property ( though willed to her). I fear for her life since it seems her in-laws are only after the money. |
We want men to be supportive, gentle and decent yet society's silent definition of a man is one who is oppressive, has zero knowledge of domestic chores and more of brawn than brain. That's why we have many rapists, high rate of divorce and unfaithfulness. Being 'a man' is no licence for hitting people and it's no reason to have no knowledge of food and nutrition ( if he's interested). The truth is that a majority of men are who they are based mostly on what they see/learn at home. Mothers play a significant role in the upbringing of children. A mother who encourages her son to fight when there are issues that can be amicably resolved is teaching intolerance and breeding a potential thug. What a child grows with becomes part of his life. Though a father figure helps, sometimes mothers have no options. I admire the courage of single mothers. I respect those who have made a success of their lives and brought up children to be proud of against all odds. |
I am duly registered (years ago) but I hear a lot of complaints from those who are trying to do so. INEC should explain why people never find their agents at the designated centres. People, especially young voters who are due to vote for the first time, need to speak out loudly too to avoid massive disenfranchisement of eligible voters. |
Why can't they have registration in some designated centres on Saturdays for the convenience of many workers who can't take time off work? |
@Op This is insensitive! |
gnykelly:They were already part of Nigeria. Please read the update on my post. |
According to history, there was a referendum in 1961. A part of Northern Cameroon voted to join Nigeria (Some parts of Adamawa and Borno) while the mostly Christian South opted to join Cameroon. Unfortunately those who were merged with Cameroon are regretting today. The French were the colonial masters in Cameroon while the British had portions of the territory known separately as Northern and Southern Cameroon. That's why they were given the option of merging with English speaking Nigeria. |
