The wife is so foolish! The crazy things people do to have money these days amazes me. |
Beautiful lady! |
Beautiful pictures! Visited Kano old city years ago. The dyeing pits, museum et al. It's good to travel to learn more about our history and various cultures. Most parts of the North have unique housing structures which are well suited for the environment. |
Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Prof. Ike and many other Igbos are happily married to Yoruba women. Intertribal marriages take place every week. I have a number of friends and associates who are married to Igbos. It's a matter of who you know and what you see in your environment. |
Watched the video elsewhere. Disgraceful actions on the part of the lady. Perhaps there's more to the story. Smart guy though. |
She may have forgotten that she ever said this! @op Move on, it's nothing to worry about. |
This is just so sad! Every family has issues. Management is key. |
Taking up one's rights and buying more if possible is the wisest thing to do. |
There are already enough laws to moderate the running of NGOs. This proposed bill (if what has been stated is true) portends evil. Why should the government which is saddled with so much already be interested in monitoring Church funds? Well established Churches have Parish Councils and most of the funds are for administration, charity and future development. How does this concern government having taken tax from the members? The legislators should concentrate their energy on laws that will make corruption and looting more difficult in governance. Going by EFCC reports, we're yet to sort out issues on missing funds and mismanagement of funds in government. Let's start from there. |
Terrible experience for the students! May God see them back home safely. |
@op Please consult Funmi Akingbade of Punch newspaper. I think her column is featured on Saturdays. She's experienced in such matters. Also try to coax your wife into telling you what the problem is. There's definitely something she needs to sort out in her mind. The mind controls our physical self. Don't listen to the rapists and side chic advocates who are trying to mislead you. It will only lead you to greater problems. I'm glad that you've never considered rape anyway. God will guide you and honor you in marvellous ways. You're richly blessed. |
Reader1988:This is great! That's true Christianity. |
Kudos! It's heartwarming that there are many female shoe designers/makers now. God bless her efforts and crown it with resounding success. |
They should go for their Traditional Wedding and then to the Marriage Registry to legalize it. The marriage will be blessed in any Church that accepts them. No big deal really except the woman wants to remain single to please Pastor who is married already. Shine your eyes. Read the Bible and understand the principles of life. If the story is true, the Pastor certainly doesn't love his neighbour as himself as God decreed. She could also seek the face of God on her own for an answer if she knows how to connect spiritually. |
Evaberry:Rather a girl who bears your name with dignity than a worthless guy. God gave him girls for a reason. Ngozi is an accomplished daughter of the Okonjo family. Folorunsho Alakija is the pride of the Ogbara family of Ikorodu. Evans the kidnapper is someone's son. Anini and Ishola Oyenusi were also sons. That's not to say he still can't have a boy or that the boy won't do well. His choice not to try. Afterall he's not complaining. We should learn to respect people's wishes. |
It's time to confront this issue of kidnappings, organ harvesting and ritual killing in a drastic manner. Long court processes (if that ever happens) is certainly not a deterrent. I don't subscribe to jungle justice but I hope our lawyers and criminologists can come up with a better solution. We hardly hear of suspects being convicted yet the beat goes on. South, East, West and North, it pervades everywhere.Human life is sacred. Blood letting does no good in any society. Generational curses and retrogression is a natural consequence. It's time to enlighten our people to understand that evil only brings more evil in the long run. This is a battle that must be won against all odds. |
Old fool! |
The Alumni should get together and do something about this if the school is still in operation. Waiting for the government for everything never works. The school appears abandoned to me though. |
May their souls rest in perfect peace. May God comfort and uphold the family. The wicked souls who killed the priest shall not go unpunished by God's grace. It's so sad that people are becoming scared of visiting their villages because of desperate evildoers of all shades. .. Robbers, kidnappers, fraudsters, murderers etc Yet we want development everywhere. |
nwabobo:There's Interpol and intelligence cooperation among Nations. They work in ways you can not see. |
PtePeter1987:There are good Nigerian ladies. Search them out wisely. While at it, remember that all that glitters is not gold. |
Shocking and sad! Wise guy though. I wonder what gave her the courage to insist on sending the old woman out of her son's house when they're not married. No legal rights I think. This Olorunsogo and entitlement mentality of modern ladies is getting out of hand. Now I see why some young men are scared of marriage. So humiliating for the guys mum too. The lady will reap as she has sowed if she doesn't repent fast. |
oduastates:No. That was done at Redeemer's University. |
Good riddance! Hope they discover more. |
Funny comments! ![]() It's easy to condemn parents when you're not one yet or when your kids are still small. While I don't subscribe to following grown up kids everywhere on social media, it's necessary to keep in touch somehow. A whatsapp family group for instance keeps everyone updated on family and general issues. Of course it's easy to ignore irrelevant posts that way. Wisdom is key. Have your privacy when you're old enough to handle your affairs but let your parents understand the implication of communicating directly on Instagram for instance. Private messages are more dignifying for both parties. The truth is that some older parents don't know the nitty gritty of how social media works before jumping on the train to 'monitor' their evasive and smarter children. Remember they are adjusting from analogue to digital while the kids are mostly of the digital era. Avoid outright rudeness to your parents. There's usually a tendency to reap as we sow. |
bayooooooo:Maybe I'm missing something but I see no reason why the inventors efforts/success is difficult to appreciate. He's shown enough evidence and comes across (to me) as a humble, diligent and focused young man. There's really no need to run him down. Anyone who has superior information should provide it. Besides he says patents are published after 18 months - not too long to wait. Till then all I can say is kudos to this young man who is blazing a trail in the techie world. If we have many more people trying to succeed as entrepreneurs, the employment rate will increase and it will have a positive impact on the economy. Nigeria will also rely less on foreigners for technological development. Very well done Tosin. More grease to your elbows. May God grant you more wisdom and all that you need to be a world renowned inventor. Keep up the good spirit. Avoid distractions. God bless you much more. |
Love without trust is a waste of time and it's bad for your health. Someone who has been introduced to the family should behave like a real wife. If shes dissatisfied with you in a way, nothing will change when you marry. The away games will continue. Consider how you'll cope if this happens again especially after marriage and take a decision. There's no reason to believe that she'll change except if you're certain that it's a one-off 'mistake'. May God guide you and minister to your heart. Don't allow yourself to become an emotional wreck. This may be God's way of straightening your path or leading you to what's best for you. |
DON'T GO! Please focus on your studies for now. You're simply not matured enough to handle a relationship with this guy. That's the advice i would give my daughter. A 30 year old is ripe for marriage and probably has a fiancee somewhere. However if he truly loves you that much, he'll protect you and be willing to see you at home considering your age. Under that condition, your parents can observe him and advise. |
Sad story if entirely true. @Op You need to let your mum know that bitterness isn't good for her health. You should Google topics on Forgiveness or forgiveness therapy for clarity. It's been proven scientifically. She's going to great lengths to revenge but it's not necessary. I admire her for building a good career to uphold the family. A decent and diligent woman doesn't need to fight a man who refuses to be responsible at home for whatever reason. You simply take the bull by the horns and do all you can to see that you and the children don't suffer. However, disrespecting your dad won't solve any problem. If he considered his mistress important, he may not apologise. It was probably a genuine "mistake" arising from loneliness and a battered ego. You need to find out why he doesn't contribute sufficiently towards the running of the home. Apart from his mistress or before the mistress came along, what was his problem? He couldn't have been spending all his salary on his family when he knows he has to look after his nuclear family albeit with his wife's support. His not having a car is baffling if indeed he earns that much. I pray that you're able to resolve the issues soon. Mum is hurting badly and venting her anger in a way that's not so helpful. You flaunting a car as your dad treks is demeaning. Your father's blessing is important. His relationship with you is different from what he has with his wife. She shouldn't provoke unnecessary curses on her kids out of bitterness. Talk to respectable elders known to the two parties if all else fails. May God bring back peace, joy and progress for all to your home. Amen |
According to Channels news, Multi trex is sorting out its problems with AMCON and should soon be on it's way back to relevance. |
anitapreeti:Sadly the reality is that some people don't read through before they comment. Some can't comprehend what is written so they argue blindly. Very embarrassing really, considering that one assumes most people on this platform have basic education. Congrats to Bisola. I share her views on educating the girl child. The positive impact of an educated woman in the family and society is enormous. |
Acquire new skills along with accounting to remain relevant. Forensic Accounting for instance is still vibrant. Mergers/acquisitions is another specilist field. You can also diversify into stockbroking and investments among others. Yes, automation may reduce job availability but one can still be creative to succeed in a developing economy like ours. I think young accountants should look into training of SMEs on Financial Management at a reasonable cost to create awareness. Most businesses fail or do not outlive their owners due to ignorance in managing their finances. It's time to stop the 'na me get my money' mentality. It slowly destroys businesses and has a long term negative impact on the economy. This really is a job for accountants to handle with the cooperation of market associations and cooperatives. Even if one decides not to build an accounting career, the knowledge is useful in home management and daily living. |
