@auwal87

I really do not understand how you can take my moderate argument to support this tribalistic and religious extremist ideology. Do you not know that the reason why Nigeria is so recognised is in its numbers? By the time the North breaks off with a population of 40 million and a quarter of the resources of this country.

Don't forget that when the North breaks of, it will become a landlocked country. Note that almost all landlocked countries are poor. Even if you produce so much, to export, you will pay dues to the country that owns the port. To import, you will also pay dues to the country that owns the port. Which country will that be? Either the south-south or the south-west.

So at the end of the day, after the break-up of the country, the south-south and south-west may not even need to produce anything to earn a robust income. They'll do well off the import and export charges on the so called United Hausa Emirates.

Mr. man, shey you see yourself now? Are the 60% foreign trained Nigerians not putting in the same input as foreigners?

Shebi you went to a Nigerian University? I went to a Nigerian University too and I must tell you that when I finished, I was bewildered by the functioning of things in the real world.

You expect me to hire a graduate of mechanical engineering who built an egusi dehusking machine for his final year project or the one that built a solar powered 4-wheel drive vehicle? I said it that these foreigners are mostly hired due to their hands-on experience, their work ethic and drive for excellence.

Business › Re: I Have #1,000,000 (One Million Naira) To Invest by denex: 10:20am On Jun 09, 2007
Instead of you to go and buy more first bank shares now you making 1 million enquiries. Buy first bank shares now and sell at the begining of Next year you will almost double your money. And when I say sell, I mean sell including the ones you had before because every share that rises must fall. So after this 100 billion offer ends, people would want to buy more and most people would not want to sell unless at a higher price. So the share price will continue to increase till maybe beginning of next year. So buy then sell after about 6 months.

Yes O! The man is a complete scam. Have you never noticed how he's always diverting attention away from serious matters during press conferences.

Press: Mr. President, how would Nigeria fare in this new internet age considering the facilities and in the country?

OBJ: hmmm. compootah! compootah! Ah! Even my secretary is telling me that she has compootah in her office ,

That is how Baba iyabo avoided us for years.
Politics › Re: Why Can't Nigeria's Oil Revenue Be Paid Out To Citizens? by denex: 9:37am On Jun 09, 2007
You people better stop discussing this malicious idea before one politician sees it and starts implementing it.

This thing is feasible, but not exactly like this. The NNPC would be privatised and its shares sold to those that actually have oil on their land. If you're from Bayelsa state and there is no oil on your land, nothing for you. Anyhow, when these shares have all been distributed among the true oil producers, government can now tax the NNPC just like a normal company. This way, the shareholders can get their revenue directly, plough back their investment, spend it or sell their shares.

This is a process that requires serious planning and careful management yet I think it is most likely going to make no difference. Look at Alaska today after years of recieving oil revenue and payment of dividend, are they the richest state in the US right now? High per capita in places like Halibut of about $90,000, but low in places like Aleneva; about $4,000. If this obtains in the Niger-Delta, with the poor infrastructure on ground, the high earners would take their revenues to more comfortable places like lagos, Abuja or abroad and spend it and the low earners will remain. Not moving forward or even back.

OBJ, still the same ol' baba Iyabo. Don't mind that man. He knows exactly what he's doing.
If he takes a Helicopter from Ota to Lagos, we will say the man has finished Nigeria's money. He just pull that getting stuck in traffic gimmick so people will look at him as an ordinary Nigerian.

Baba Iyabo is far smarter than you know. In fact, I'm proposing for him to be studied in Universities.

@Romeo

per capita income has never been calculated daily and will never be calculated daily.
If the daily income of citizen is calculated, it will be named something else.
And if at all daily earnings of Nigerians is calculated, it will be
$1,400/365
= $3.80

you're nothing but a block headed ignorant student. Is $3.80 spent on average by every Nigerian the same thing as less than $1.

Per capita income in Nigeria is $1,400. Take it or leave it, or check the internet, or go and kill yourself.

That is what is happening in Palestine today. People that do not know how to negotiate alliances in this modern age will perish!

Yes O! Free Market Economy for all by the year 2010!
The principle of demand and supply rocks!

Why is NLC complaining? Were they not the ones that forced OBJ to implement the IMF plan? Okay, they read the part that said government should increase salaries, but they ignored the part where it said government should privatise industries and remove all subsidy.
It is NLC that has landed us where we are today.
They were the ones that handed the masses and the government over to these ruthless IMF policies.
TV/Movies › Re: The Worst Tv Station In Nigeria? by denex: 8:35am On Jun 08, 2007
Have you guys seen those TV Stations on DISC Communication?
Eagle television, Focus TV and TV3? NEPA can take light at anytime and they'll go off and return at anytime without apology. The can withdraw any station for weeks and return it anytime they like. They can change the broadcast frequency anytime they like: so today you can be watching one particular station, but tomorrow, if you don't see it, just put your TV on Auto search and you'll find it. And besides, all they advertise are get-rich-quick seminars.

If there are any other stations that do worse than this, please list, but if there are none, then let's give them the crown.

We ALL trust Americans with Nuclear bombs? Americans are the only human beings that have used Nuclear bombs on human beings. Nuclear bombs were tested on the people of the Marshall Island (go and search before you start arguing). Nuclear bombs were used on human beings in Nagasaki & Hiroshima. Even Nixon ordered one dropped on Lebanon.

Why do you want to get me started? Would you trust someone that has shot three people dead with a loaded handgun? Abi someone that has a handgun for 50 years without using it.
By the way, check US economic figures from the start of 2001 to August 2001.

@carmelily.

The topic is singers that really can't sing. That includes Michelle of destiny's child, Samantha Mumba and all the members of the the pussycat dolls besides Sherzinger.
Paris Hilton is a Person That Can't Sing. She released songs doesn't mean she's a singer. She's a "Person That Sang, But Cannot Sing, And Finally Went To Jail"
well, maybe when she comes out she'll become a hardcore rapper.

Well, oversabi was controlling me one day. I just sat down and was preparing script and story board with a proposal for the shooting of 2face's "e be like say". When my creative director caught me in the act, the whole studio burst into laughter for more than 2 hours. Just because they saw my quotation for the video at N1.2million. They said the office had contacted Kennis Music earlier and they said they'll give the contract if we can produce a video with N100,000.
When to rent equipment from Jungle Film works in Ikeja per day is N150,000.
When Faze is shooting kolomental for N750,000 2face wants to shoot video for N100,000. Devil solder their head. Including 2face that is letting them use him. Look at Paul Play's videos. Imagine if he were still at Kennis Music.

Politics › Re: Electricity - Is There No Solution by denex: 7:56pm On Jun 07, 2007
Government has no further business investing in electricity. Not one kobo more. They have privatised NEPA into the PHCN, and have licensed several Independent Power Projects like Dangote, Shell and Siemens to generate power and supply to the national grid. PHCN measures the amount of power contributed by each company and compensates them accordingly.
So government has no more business supplying electricity.

As for the reason why government sold subsidized electricity to those countries, it was and agreement among mostly those countries that the River Niger passed through.

The deal is that everybody wanted to generate electricity by building their own dam on the river Niger. Now, if you build so many dam, there'll be a total disaster.
A single dam upstream will cause serious drought downstream, and a dam downstream will cause severe flooding upstream. Then imagine if there were like 5 dams: there'll be total chaos. In fact, the Kainji dam has almost totally shrunk the river Niger from the whole of Mali. Fishing, irrigation, it's almost all gone. So I think it is only fair Nigeria agreed to supply them cheap electricity.

Either way, with the coming of the IPPs, nobody will carry on that rubbish.
It is even clearly known now that hydroelectric power, though very clean and cheap, is one of the most inefficient sources of power. So na dem sabi. Contract don end.
