He has civil not criminal personal liability Any liability is a Tort unless it can be shown that he has since resuming office been reminded of the order which is over 10 years old
By your logic he can be jailed for failing to obey an order from 1960 So the judge that ruled that the IGP be jailed on contempt is high on weed, that he has no idea of what he is doing I suppose. |

Let's he how quickly he will respond to this court ruling and replace the IGP. |

Don't we still have child marriages in the North?
However, to qualify as statutory rape then one has to be a minor. So what's the legal age for adulthood in Nigeria? 16 or 18 years? |

pinkPUSSY: Just imagine !!! ..
You stole someone's picture for campaign claiming it's Tinubu, the original person you stole his picture raised an alarm and told you to stop using his picture for campaign that it's his childhood picture, not Tinubu's picture , instead of you to show remorse and apologise, you opened your mouth and said you won't apologise even when the rumour had it that you apologised which was orchastred by sensible people in your camp, yet you still came out again and told the world that you didn't apologise..
Pride at its peak !!!
Tinubu and his team are incorrigible fraudulent clowns that should never be allowed close to our National purse..
Very deceitful charlatans/hardened criminals... That's a statement they are making, "we will steal what belongs to all of you, and will never apologize for it". This kind of brazen boldness is seriously scary. |

The arrest was illegal to start with.
Though Aisha has a right to sue the boy for libel. But the illegal arrest and denying the boy his human rights has trumped any charges of libel that can be brought against him.
In a society that works, the government will gently settle this case out of court and drop the charges against him but alas we know where we are.
When the Nigerian government at all levels stops the use of the police structures to intimidate Nigerians then we can start growing. |

A sensible administrator would first consolidate and bring many people as possible to his side instead of fighting everybody. He has made enemies out of NURTW leadership, Traditional rulers, top civil servants and members of the state house of assembly in just 24 hours in office.
Anyway, we are here to watch as the drama unfolds. Osun will definitely be in the news almost daily for the next four years for no good reason. Oyetola set him up for some of those controversies. But it is good that he is bold and is not the type that would say instead of controversies let us allow things to go bad. Good for him, but then he needs to make his stance known on these controversies and quickly move and not let anyone drag him over them. |

sonature1: Don't argue, bro.
If your boss is not stealing, you have no reason to steal.
That's what Peter Obi normally says and that's a common logic. More importantly, if your boss didn't employ you because he owes you favour, and has zero tolerance for stealing and you come on board and start stealing well you know what fate you will meet. I like that Obi doesn't have a dense structure that he owes political appointments to. |

At least these statements are more tangible than "do you love me?" or "Blabla blu" rants.
I need the contestants to start saying tangible things that they will do, just like APC campaigned in 2015 and talked about how they will increase the value of the naira and reduce the cost of petroleum products only to later deny making those statements.
These tangible promises will serve as a mirror to evaluate their performance when they decide that in 4 years they want to contest for a second term. |

I even take INEC's claim to independence with a pinch of salt.
This nation is foundationally corrupted and will continue to dysfunction for a long time to come except a serious revolution happens. The people that should inspire the revolution are also corrupt. Your comrade in the revolution will quickly sell you out for a morsel of bread, so Nigeria may never have a revolution. I don't see it happening. BluntTheApostle: Some people don't know how bails work.
This is not about South Africa, but the law.
The law believes in proofs.
The judge will grant bail to a suspect for either of two reasons:
1. The prosecutor fails to convince the judge to not grant the suspect bail.
OR
2. The suspect is able to prove that they deserve bail. People erroneously think being granted bail means the accused has been discharged and acquitted. |
Crime › Re: Nigerian Woman Bails her Abusive Husband Jailed For Beating Her To Pulp (Photos) by dochenaj: 3:49am On Nov 26, 2022 |
PoliteActivist: Nigeria is one WEIRD country. Any other country the woman will NOT be allowed to bail him. His case is with the state not the woman. Even if the woman refuses to press charges he'd still be tried and if guilty, go to jail - whether the woman likes it or not! It is not true. The woman can be allowed to bail him anywhere as long as he is bailable. And she can even chose to not press charges forcing the police to drop the case cos if it goes to court and she doesn't testify, the prosecutor will not have enough evidence to convict the man. |

You show us her wedding picture that's not right.
How many women use their real faces in their wedding?
Show us a regular pre-wedding picture and then show a regular post-wedding picture. That way we can remove the weeding makeup bias.
Then there should also be reports on how much time has passed because there is something called aging and not everyone ages gracefully, and also a report of her health status.
This is how a good research is done. Until we can exclude these confounders, we cannot say that the transformation in her looks is a function of being married. |
