That's the real list right there. Anything else is fabrication. grin
ouch! that was harsh! I've read about Selassie and he seems to be d most charismatic even tho highly unassuming. thanks.

fstranger1:
I forgive you!  It seems you dont know him, never heard him speak and all that.

No, I am not confusing charisma with sagacity, he is extremely charismatic!

But, I understand where you are coming from!

Charisma: a personal attractiveness that enables you to influence others. Ever heard of the word Awoist? what about Ojukwuist?
They are not of the same orientation. Ojukwu was a soldier while Awo was a populist. . .he shud hav more followers than Ikemba but Ikemba can defeat him in Ibadan if their shud be a contest. cheesy

^^^ I quite agree with u on Zik. As to who matches him in oratory, Balewa can giv him a good run. . .even Ikemba, but Zik was a true legend. Muammar Ghadaffi and J J Rawlings. . . i can't agree more. Those two are there! Just googled Sankara and I'm amazed.

Thank u bro!
PoliticsRe: Most Charismatic African Leaders by Donmeca(op): 8:52pm On Jan 10, 2011
alj harem, I would not want to disagree with u. . .but OBJ is not viewed as charismatic by most people and Ahmadu Bello was the charisma in d north during Balewa (Balewa in fact was his boy/stooge), oratory can go his way but charisma. . .i go think am.
PoliticsMost Charismatic African Leaders by Donmeca(op): 8:39pm On Jan 10, 2011
I have thought of this since the inception of GEJ presidency. A lot of people have a lot of things for and against the man but we all seem to come to an agreement that he is HUMBLE but lacks CHARISMA and ORATORY (not a SIN though). I have given this a huge thought and ask myself, who is that charismatic Nigerian nay, African leader?

He/she can be either living or dead, kindly mention/describe two very charismatic African president, prime minister, leader u know, who may also be a powerful orator. Thanks.

@ Donmeca, That is not being wicked? He has been contributing his quota to be part of the solution. He only said he is not interested in an elective office. You dont have to be in an elective office to cause change. Get that fact.

and dont be in a hurry to look out for faults. Those statements are carefully thought out statements that will remain constant irrespective of time and situations. Be slow to speak and quick to listen. Selah,
Bro, i don't think I missed that either but we are better analysts as spectators, when given a chance to serve, we either decline or do a very bad job. as for being quick to listen and slow to speak, I think d Bible also said we shud pray for our leaders and those in authority. . .not bug dem and finally pull them down
PoliticsRe: I Don’t Trust Jonathan –tunde Bakare by Donmeca(m): 6:22pm On Jan 10, 2011
He is not the only Nigerian that we expect to team up and bring this to a glorious conclusion in 2011. The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) alone cannot win the election. Buhari alone cannot win the election. Men of goodwill must team up. The best of the North, the best of the South, must come together to stir this ship up the iceberg that this titanic called PDP is about to heat and sink the entire nation if need be. But by God’s grace, it will not happen. My assessment of Buhari as a person has nothing to do with any desire to run for any elective office. I am not interested.
Not interested? and u have d solution to our collective problem as a nation? Are u not being WICKED?
PoliticsRe: I Don’t Trust Jonathan –tunde Bakare by Donmeca(m): 5:44pm On Jan 10, 2011
The way it is going, with this lopsided federal system, with the republic that is not a true republic, you are playing with disintegration. In fact, you might be pushing it to the extreme when you talk of extinction. But God Almighty who puts Nigeria together, is able to hold it. Nigeria must be delivered from the grips of those who are in power for self and not for service and who have a sense of entitlement to the leadership of this nation.
Who told this pastor that "Nigeria" was put togeda by God? I think God is about to correct d anomaly called Nigeria. Lugard and his girlfriend did this out of convenience and we are suffering the outcome, and here stands Bakare, praying that God leaves us to our predicament.

Again, it is always easy to criticize from the sidelines. . .if Bakare is so competent and has the magic wand in Nigeria's problems (he already has a handful of followership) he shud at least contest for d senate and we can take it from there. I bet that if he gets to any political office, he wud realise what a miserable life he had lead all this while and he may even out-embezzle and out-rig d PDP politicians. i can also bet that he wud appear more clueless than GEJ and more  confused than Dora as communications minister.

He is a minister of God, I think he shud be converting people like GEJ atiku, OBJ Odili, etc. . .

If there is any fool here on this thread, it has to be this foul-smelling Babbapupa. . .who is he BTW?

U joined the discussion quite late (may not av even read d news feed or the people's comment) and proceeded to insult people making useful contributions with your illegible and incoherent posts. What's wrong with u?

That does not mean i do not know about the political terrain in Nigeria. I know he is a thief but he has delivered democracy in the SW against PDP. PLEASE, do not think i like the guy, infact, i think he was the one that killed FUNSHO WILLIAMS but we cannot start to cry over a spilled milk, can we?
So Jason, if the Williams family or FG wishes to investigate d murder of Funsho and Tinubu is found to be in d middle of it, wud u rather they wait till after elections to charge him to court? This is justice we are talking abt here. . .we all will want immunity clause removed but wen our ex-governors are touched, we cry "political castration", how then can we touch the incumbent?

- a person is innocent until provenn guilty
- judicial intimidation of any form against any citizen is unconstitutional & condemnable
- it is not the job of a president to orchestrate a judicial kidnap of a political opponent few weeks to an election.

If there's a genuine case against this guy, it should be laid before a court, preferably after the elections. Any action taken before the elections will lack credibility & owill  only harden support amongst his followers.
I disagree with based on d bold items. Who says u can't arrest a priest in d middle of his sermon? any time is ripe to arrest any corrupt person. . .i wud even prefer it now, provided they have enough evidence to send him to kirikiri, so that others will learn lasting lessons. If u want to defeat an opponent, hit hardest at his weakest point.

Mohammed said: "Now, we have it on a good authority that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, (Mr. Mohammed Adoke), has been under tremendous pressure to look for any offence, no matter how flimsy, to get Tinubu arrested and prosecuted – just to put him away." He alleged that the President "may sign a warrant of Tinubu’s arrest anytime from now."
Y shud he commit any offense, even if it were "flimsy". this Lai Mohd sabi lie ooo. If Tinubu is suspected of any wrong doing, now is even the best time to jail him. . .it will be more painful to him and his kind.

Ericology:
No  hes leaving 2015,  if Ogboru had won,,  he wld have been there for 8yrs but Uduaghans win wld be a validation of his first time and not a new election
Ericology, how can u make d above statement? When d court said that there was no election in Delta State in 2007, does it not mean that Uduaghan was never elected? If so, he is about to start his first tenure as a governor. He can only hand over in 2015 based on his "church mind" and agreement he has with the other powers that be. . .may be some ethnic nationalities but not because he completes his eight year tenure by 2015.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Is Leading In Delta Re-run Election Again! by Donmeca(m): 3:17pm On Jan 07, 2011
this was y I faulted d truncation of Uduaghan' govt after almost a full tenure. I had said then that it was done only to elongate d man's rulership in delta state. . . now, it's happening. He shud av bn allowed to complete his tenure and contest for 2nd tenure with Ogboru after the fresh voter registration. They just gave him 4 years on a platter. . . soooo sad!

Rigging or no rigging, we shud know dat people vote, not for the man but for d party they know. In the whole of Nigeria, PDP has d highest grassroot structures. their umbrella may be full of crooks but they all know how to motivate the youth leaders, who in turn mobilise the masses. the umbrella is very popular and Nigerians sell to d highest bidder, especially when u are a hungry Nigerian.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Threatens To Quit Pdp by Donmeca(m): 1:33pm On Jan 07, 2011
He added: “All I need is to mobilise all the northern delegates to vote for me, even if I take 55 per cent of that 61 per cent, I am okay. You have only 31 per cent here in the South.
Bad maths: 55% of 61% (northern delegates) = {(55/100)*(61/100)}*100 = (0.55*0.61)*100 = 0.34*100 = 33.55% of d total delegates in PDP convention. This is clearly not enof reason to be ok.

Now, I know this is not what Atiku had in mind (he meant 55% of PDP delegates) but he didn't make d right choice of words. Everyone slips from time to time. His strategists needs to do more work in speech-writing.

The former Vice President said if he was an over ambitious person, he would have in 2003 succumbed to pressure from PDP governors to vie for the party’s presidential ticket against former President Obasanjo. According to him, he declined because of the zoning policy of the party.
hmmn. . .beloved Atiku, d vice president of PDP governors. . .a respecter of agreement. what a powerful hero! Y did he even nurse d ambition in d first place if he was so unambitious?

I have sacrificed the presidency in 1993 for the unity, peace and stability of this country by stepping down for Chief MKO Abiola.
Just like i have sacrificed my right to good living because of the ever greedy ruling class, which Jonathan was never a member of. . .he just joined of late. But u, Atiku was a pot-bellied member of. . .u and your ilk milked our economy dry thereby infringing on my right to quality public education. i'm just beginning to realise what it's like to see NEPA/PHCN light for d most part of d day, to spend a maximum of 3 minutes in petrol station and drive away with a filled tank at constant rate nationwide, even during festive seasons. . .without gratifying some illiterate attendant. . .this is wen i know that someone can ever "make good things happen". thanks to GEJ. . . a bird at hand if u know wot I mean.

In 1998/99, the entire PDP machinery was in my hand. If I had been over ambitious like some people say, I would have given the PDP ticket to myself but I took PDP ticket to Obasanjo in his farm, who had just been released from jail. I said take the ticket. Come and be our president because I always put the interest of this country before mine” he said.
Magnanimous! pls take it now to Jonathan in Aso Rock so  he can continue from where he stopped. I like u sir, u are very unambitious, and u can pick quality people for appointment. . .like u picked OBJ who was suffering from the aftermaths of prison isolation and the shock/fear of imminent death. pls pick Jona who was elevated just because DSP stole some money and help him appoint ministers like Okonjo, Ezekwesili, Soludo, etc and God will continue to bless u.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Threatens To Quit Pdp by Donmeca(m): 11:50am On Jan 07, 2011
From Kobojunkie
^^^ Kicking PDP out is no longer going to solve the problem. We may need to modify our tactics giving that some of the corrupt elements in the PDP have moved to join other parties. Nigerians need to identify these elements and make sure that no matter what their new party affiliation, they are stopped from getting back in power.
so far my best post. . .yet to complete my slow reading anyway but we all shud agree that Nigeria is basically a one party state. people only form new parties wen pdp conditions becomes unfavourable to their selfish inklings. thus most opposition politicians are more pdp than the party they are fighting.
PoliticsRe: Govt Begins Closure Of Phcn, Transfers Workers . by Donmeca(m): 4:03pm On Jan 05, 2011
On measures so far taken to end government’s monopoly and attract private investors, the PTF on Power recalled that adverts inviting companies to submit expressions of interest in taking up 51 per cent stake of the six generation and 11 distribution PHCN successor companies had been published in the media.

Agboluaje noted that interested companies were to submit expressions of interest by February 18, 2011, while short-listed companies would be invited to submit bids for the successor companies early in the second quarter of the year.

Winning bidders are to take over management of the companies by the end of second quarter of 2011.
I really hope the winning bidders will be the best and most qualified bidders not the most corrupt bidders. Let them not give us the kind of selection that saw CCC and Dantata & Sawoe waste years spending our billions of Naira fooling us while claiming they are constructing our roads. Other companies can do better a work in less time! Or the kind of selection that encouraged Julius Berger to add an extra 2 billion naira in the cost of expanding Abuja runway due to "mathematical error".

Oops! as I was typing PHCN struck. . .my light went off. Have they started the closure already? or is this d normal bad-belle PHCN?
PoliticsRe: Govt Begins Closure Of Phcn, Transfers Workers . by Donmeca(m): 3:39pm On Jan 05, 2011
NEC/NEPA/PHCN has held this nation by the scrotal sac for as long as my dad can recall. They resort to sabotage each time the govt wants to carry out any meaningful plan towards steady power supply.

They have even used strike to send us signals of their omnipotence. . . this is unacceptable to say the least. I support, wholeheartedly any overhaul that will guarantee my putting on  light switch to find bulb smiling without the ever-irritating sound of a gen set. My problem with government policies is in the full implementation. . .who is shall carry it out to fruition?

I am afraid that element even within this same would be the ones to scuttle this noble initiative by their own govt. Imagine that the only hole Dimeji Bankole picked in the JEG Roadmap to Power was that the president did not make provision for the  flourishing "billion dollar" generator business. He is more concerned about the welfare of the "cabal" raping the country's power sector than for the welfare of the vast majority of d citizenry. . .shallow-mindedness!

Failure: Chimaroke Nnamani for bagging the Most Audacious Bench-warming Senator Award, 2010. Nkanuland has no  representation in both senate and Reps. Uduaghan, Oni, Ibori, Odili (for thinking of ever being relevant again).

Meanwhile, I see no role models; thumbs up to those doing well and wake up or shut up for doz doing badly.

If our leaders still believe Nigeria is "united" and should still remain as a single entity, let them ask the people through a referendum and see if the result will not surprise them. Most people don't want a "united" Nigeria anymore.

WE NEED A REFERENDUM ON THE CONTINUED UNITY/AMALGAMATION OF NIGERIA! Let the 2011 elections be converted into a referendum.

One united Nigeria made up of pieces of disintegrated states. . . ethnic and religious violence in Plateau, Borno, Taraba, Benue, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, etc. This latest Christmas gift shud serve as a buttress of d point that Nigeria is haggardly kept together by the greed (of d ruling class for power and money) not love (of the citizens for one another).
