A 45-year-old Italian Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Vito Isacchi, has been forced to resign after he was caught sleeping with a church member’s wife.


Father Isacchi tendered his resignation in the archdiocese of L’Aquila on Tuesday after Corte d’Appello di L’Aquila’s ruling on the matter was made public.

According to the Telegraph UK, the court gave the ruling after a five-year trial of the priest.

The court also ordered his alleged lover to pay her estranged husband 15,000 euros (£13,400/N6million) for the depression he suffered over their affair.

The court, however, excused Isacchi, who is also known as ‘Don Vito’ from paying any compensation as the court found him, “irrelevant” to any violation of the marriage due to the fact that he was not married.

Father Isacchi, however, expressed regret over the incident, saying he had repented for his actions but resigned in a letter to the local archbishop, Monsignor Giuseppe Petrocchi, amid an outcry over the case.

L’Aquila diocese in a statement said, “Don Vito recognizes his moral responsibility and asks forgiveness for the upset and suffering caused to the religious and social community.

“In particular he has indicated he intends to reject the payment specified by the sentence.”

Father Isacchi comes from the northern city of Bergamo and was transferred from his Rome parish to l’Aquila, 70 miles from the capital, in 2010 after news of the scandal broke.

The judge in his ruling said, “The petitioner’s claim against the woman must be accepted and dismissed against the defendant Isacchi, as it presupposes a violation of the obligation of fidelity in the marriage, an obligation for which the third party (Isacchi) is completely irrelevant.”

The court sentence was issued a year ago and made final six months ago but just came to light this week.

Councils to the woman’s husband have urged the church to take further action against Father Isacchi who they say has violated canon law and his vow of celibacy.

Here’s the good news. You don’t have to resign yourself to a life of s*xual frustration. There are solutions — if you’re willing to work at it.

What affects a person’s s*x drive?
s*x drive is fluid and individual and can go up and down due to stress, energy levels, body image, well-being and the state of the relationship. It can also reflect medical issues, like sleep disorders and hormonal imbalance.

While everyone’s s*x drive is unique, there is a s*xual scale. For some people, s*x is paramount; others crave it much less. Australian sexologist Dr. Nikki Goldstein explains, “We’re all different people with different desires.”

New York s*x therapist Dr. Stephen Snyder agrees and links desire to libido. “Drives are things like hunger and thirst that we’d die of if we didn’t satisfy. Nobody dies from lack of s*x. Rather, [s*x therapists] tend to think of libido as a capacity to respond to something you find sexy with desire or arousal,” he tells SheKnows.

Mismatched libidos
Both experts say it’s common for one partner to have a higher libido than the other, but according to Goldstein, “It doesn’t mean you’re incompatible, and it’s not something to be fearful of.” Though men are stereotyped as the pursuers, the reverse is also common. As Goldstein puts it, the myth is men are goal-oriented — “or hole-oriented, if you will!” — and women feel obligated. She believes for many couples, the issue isn’t libido, but rather boredom.

“Women have creative minds, and many want to explore their se*uality, but why would they keep doing something if they’re not getting satisfaction out of it?” she says.

Not only that, but women tend to lose desire unless someone is giving them something worth desiring, Snyder adds.

The same goes for men. Boredom as well as issues like erectile dysfunction, P0*n overuse, loss of confidence and relationship stress can all cause a man’s libido to cool.

Over time, those differences in desire can take an emotional toll on a relationship, as one partner feels constantly rejected and the other tired of fending off s*xual advances. As a couple, Snyder says, it’s important to recognize the negative cycle you’re in so you can work on getting out of it.

Syncing up
If you’re feeling sexually unsatisfied in your relationship, communication is crucial — and Goldstein says to offer specific suggestions. Instead of just letting your partner know you’re not happy, “tell them what to do so there are no guessing games.”

Similarly, Snyder points out people want s*x for a number of reasons: looking for an climax, attention, reassurance or to feel close to their partner. His advice is to figure out what your motivations are and then frame them in a positive way (rather than a complaint). He gives an example that’s as simple as saying, “I think if we had s*x once a week, that would make me feel better about myself and us.” By solving emotional issues, you’ll be one step closer to a more synced-up s*x life.

Communication aside, you could also try arousing each other in different ways, and redefining what s*x means to you. In other words, experiment. This might involve introducing toys into the bedroom, mutually self servicing or drawing out pre-intimacy via kissing, massaging or showering together. Sometimes, thinking outside the box is the trick.

“If A just wants an climax, and B doesn’t want s*x, often the best solution is for A to give themselves an climax, while B holds them, kisses them or otherwise plays a supportive role,” Snyder explains.

Another idea is to explore having s*x at unusual times or places to see if that sparks a change.

Along with enhancing the er*tic connection, tackle the romantic side of the relationship. Long-term relationships can stale over time, so put some effort into reigniting the passion by planning date nights (like you would have when you first started dating) and even s*x sessions. By doing so, you’ll be taking charge of your s*x life, but just remember to communicate with your partner about what they want/need to feel sexually fulfilled.

Relieving the pressure
For Emma*, a woman in her 20s, learning not to taking her partner’s low libido personally was a challenge.

A few months into her long-term relationship, it “became obvious I needed more intimacy.” Since Emma had been conditioned to believe that “men always want it,” it was frustrating until she noticed her partner’s interest in s*x only waned when he was stressed at work. According to Metro UK, hundreds of cyclists were spotted riding their bikes through the streets of Manchester yesterday. These people really were in the buff.

Dozens of unclad and partially-clothed bikers set off in the evening on Friday from All Saints Park in the university area of Oxford Road.

The dress code for the ride, which passed landmarks including St Peter’s Square, Manchester Town Hall and travels along Deansgate, is ‘bare as you dare’ and full or partial indecency is encouraged.
And there is a meaning behind it all.

The annual event, which takes place in more than 70 cities across the world, aims to draw attention to the vulnerability of cyclists on the road.
It’s also about celebrating bikes and cycling, bodies and low-impact living.

Participants travelling across the world from as far as Australia were invited to turn up to the park with a bike and encouraged to paint their bodies with pro-cycling messages.

One rider had the message ‘fragile’ painted on his back and another brought a giant inflatable globe to wear.
Others painted themselves with black and yellow stripes to resemble bees, or with the worker bee symbol, to celebrate the city of Manchester and to pay tribute to those who died in the Manchester Arena bombing last month.

Becca Warren, from Stretford, proudly took part in the ride with her friends.
She said: ‘I’ve done this event almost every year. This year we wanted to go with a Manchester bee theme to pay tribute and to celebrate Manchester.
‘And bees are important to our existence.’
Joe Smith from Withington, who had his back painted with bee symbols, added: ‘We want to pay tribute to this great city.’

Participants joyfully sounded their bicycle bells as they turned the corner from the park and onto Oxford Road as supportive bystanders took photos and cheered them on.
