Nairaland is now paying script/content writers just to keep traffic. People will soon get bored of faje stories and find alternatives. Advertisers will then leave too. This is how sites start their demise. |
Health / Re: Third case of Coronavirus confirmed in South Africa by EbolaParasite: 3:49pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Iamgrey5: Guy, there's no need for all this arguements. Yes no one knows for sure whether transmission will stop or reduce in warmer climes but all evidence points that way. It is similar to the common cold or FLU virus and we know that those are only prevalent in the winter. We are barely in Spring in most places. By the time its summer proper, cases will reduce. If it doesnt, well then we are screwed but there is a high likelihood it will go away. |
Health / Re: Third case of Coronavirus confirmed in South Africa by EbolaParasite: 2:50pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Iamgrey5:Since you sha want to argue, okay lets go. Firstly, i mentioned i wasn't making a case for corona but correcting the statement you made that Iran is hotter than Nigeria. When talking temperatures, you reference average temperatures oga. You cannot say a region that has winter is hotter than one that doesnt experience winter even though Iran may have sime high summer months. Also, we are just concluding winter in most territories. Tou say South Africa is having its hottest months. Did you also bother to read the article? Both of them got the virus after travel to Italy. So far they do not have a case of the virus being transmitted from person to person in SA. Nobody knows whether it thrives in warm weather or not but the evidence points that way. The same reason why FLU is mostly prevalent in the winter. |

Iamgrey5: I am not inferring anything about Corona. Just pointing out that Iran had winter. I think SA gets pretty cold too anyway. Most of these places just ended winter..... |

abbey621: Your statement "LA fitness wannabe" is not critique but the typical backwards Nigerian mentality. Since you can't build a GYM in a country with 7.5% VAT then stop misyarning about those doing it. You probably no get bicycle tire for yankee yet you dey misyarn about someone that actually owns a business. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: Video: The Moment Crowd Overpowered Securities At The Gate APC Rally Lagos by EbolaParasite: 9:45am On Feb 10, 2019 |
senatordave1: But as an APC stronghold, why were the numbers so close? That is tge question. Sure they can rig but in a stronghold, the numbers shouldn't be that close. |
Politics / Re: Video: The Moment Crowd Overpowered Securities At The Gate APC Rally Lagos by EbolaParasite: 5:03pm On Feb 09, 2019 |
bash8936: They may not win but please stop saying APC will win overwhelmingly in Lagos. Yes Lagos is APC but for the PRESIDENTIAL elections, please look at past results. Atiku does not need to win Lagos, he only needs substantial votes in Lagos. |
Politics / Re: Video: The Moment Crowd Overpowered Securities At The Gate APC Rally Lagos by EbolaParasite: 5:01pm On Feb 09, 2019 |
senatordave1: The same thugs and police that intimidated in 2015? Lets stop being sentimental. The numbers from 2015 show that Lagos is actually up for grabs. Noise making is one thing but the actual voting process is what counts. He barely won lagos last time so i doubt he will win HEAVILY. |
Politics / Re: Video: The Moment Crowd Overpowered Securities At The Gate APC Rally Lagos by EbolaParasite: 2:19pm On Feb 09, 2019 |
Ehiscotch: Is your assertion based on sentiment or facts? From the 2015 elections, Buhari (APC) had 792,460 votes and Jonathan (PDP) had 632,327. He barely won Lagos!! According to wikipedia and pulled from INEC (inec link is down right now so i can't verify). If those numbers are correct, what does that tell you? The so called strong hold is not really a strong hold and can be won. |
Religion / Re: Christmas In Badagry In 1923 Colonial Era (Photo) by EbolaParasite: 10:28am On Dec 27, 2018 |
nograv: Don't mind all these lazy youths. They prefer to just google and read the white mans account of their own history while ignoring everything else. These same people will claim nigerian slaves were docile and never tried to escape yet we know of the "Igbo landing" Even though the west has tried so hard to eradicate it and make it seem like a myth, we know it happened. Same way they are trying to paint africans as demons that we sold slaves as if we were the ones that built ships and loaded slaves aboard looking for buyers. 1 Like |

Lucifer66: Shame on you. Brainwashed Youth. Let me ask you this : Did Africans build boats and ships, put slaves on them and traveled to America and said, hey "Mr Whiteman, I have slaves for sale?" This inferiority complex that lets you only listen/read about your history only from the same people that oppressed you is sad. Let me educate you. The White is 100% responsible for the slave trade. Africans had to compromise or risk more deaths due to the advantage the white man had which was the "GUN". There are several accounts of how our brave ancestors fought back until they were subdued. Kings and Chiefs were killed and they had to compromise. At a point, they started selling bad people in society e.g those sent to local "jails" back then to avoid the white man from kidnapping innocent kids that strayed towards the beaches etc. Do not rely on your history told by your Oppressors. They will make themselves look good and make you look bad even though they were the ones that oppressed. Instead of you to go to Badagry and see the chains and locks they used to put in our ancestors mouths and hands, you are here peddling false narratives. You are here spewing nonsense that we are the bad ones that sold our people instead of demonizing the people that built slave ships, tortured our ancestors and put them in unbelivable living conditions in the ship. They were lined up like sardines. Yet these are the people you worship. SHAME ON YOU. 8 Likes |

lonelydora:Actually they do practice proper Lock out tag out in most cases. The problem is verification of isolation. The connections are made up in such a crazy manner that the only way to fully isolate the power source is probably to shut down the thermal station as well. You'd be surprised that someone else might have made an illegal connection elsewhere that prevented the line from being completely isolated. These guys work a very dangerous job and i feel sad for their families. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

bettercreature: This is the kind of issue the OP has. Early enforcement prevents this. If you had been thought very early to call him brother, their would have been limited rebellion. He probably started asking for "brother" when you were already grown and in "rebellion" zone |
Family / Re: How Do I Stop My Kids From Fighting? by EbolaParasite: 2:46pm On Dec 08, 2018 |
OperaMini1: Let me guess, the younger one calls the elder one by first name? That's where you goofed. Do not underestimate the power of "brother" "sister" "aunty" etc. Tell the boy to start calling the elder sister "Aunty or Sister .......The way yorubas do it. It creates an awareness and brings about respect. Now it is not 100% accurate because if you have "okiris" as children, they will do whatever they want regardless. Try this and thank me later. 3 Likes |

ASPIREX: Unless you get a permanent resident card of whatever nation you choose before leaving Nigeria, DO NOT ATTEMPT IT. You will regret it. Stay in Nigeria. Out of the people that did what you are proposing only a select few made it/ended up being up. Some people can no longer see their families because either the husband was refused a visa to come back in or deported. You do not want to be an Illegal in any country. I repeat, FORGET IT. Only do it if you have permanent residency of that county/Immigrant visa before leaving Nigeria. You have been warned. There are Nigerian families that are homeless in various countries all over. Did you not see the recent videos of families leaving the U.S, crossing over to Canada? Do not attempt it. Enjoy what you have in Nigeria. In Nigeria, you have family and friends that will take you in when katakata bursts. Abroad, you will be rendered homeless in less than 24 hours because everyone minds their own wahala. 15 Likes |

Americans don't call their SS1-SS3 senior secondary school so why are you attaching yourself to them. It is secondary school in Nigeria unless you schooled in America. It is not up for discussion, it's what the foooork it is. PERIOD. |
