Abeg apart from Saturday's swim, no exercises this weekend. Travelled yesterday and ate my way through two BlueBerry muffins. Not good I know, but at least like Damiso, I resisted the urge to get some of those mouthwatering pasteries at the Station and settled for two bananas, a mango 'n apple oat porridge, some salmon noodles with veg from Boots and (thankfully) a bottle of water and some melon fruits for dessert....Oh dear, typing this out now seems like a lot o! undecided embarassed embarassed

Off to download.
Efe, I really want to tone up, build up some small " chinkini" muscle. What exercises would u recommend and please, the ones I can do in a GYM. I won't be able to do anything at home : disturbances and interruptions, I won't even be serious and disciplined to follow it up but if I pay for it ( the gyms around me are thieves, ridiculous charges), I will follow it up religioudly
Babes, ask me about long endurance, cardio vascular exercises, I fit suggest. Muscle building is the forte of Chillisauce, Edwife (can you believe she lifts >20kg weights??), and BABE3

Those are the hardline body builders in the house. The best I can suggest is perhaps you join a Total Body Conditioning workout class / Strength Building class in your gym. I attended one, used the smallest weights I could available (1.25kg) for some of the routines and never went back there again. cheesy cheesy cheesy

You wônt get fat again if you eat less and healthy.

You realize now you no longer exercise, so try and eat less calories that you usually take.
the only problem is that you might start feeling pains again by the thing you are back to your exercise routine.
what I normally do is quick push up, jumping jack and I move.

calcium---- from dark leafy greens, soybeans, nuts, and fruits.
-stopped eating things with more than one ingredients; means I stopped eating anything processed food. If I check the ingredient list and I see more than one name, then it's a "no" for me.
For example, how many ingredients are in sweet potatoes? One!
How many ingredients are in almonds? One!
Basically, whole foods... cave-man style.
I follow these rules 90% of the time though, not always. I give myself room to indulge. When I go to restaurants or a get-together, rules don't really apply. cheesy No fizzy drinks, though-- ever!!! lipsrsealed

the more I pay attention to what I put in my mouth, the more I realize majority of us aren't eating food; we are only eating "food-like" products... grin

Haven't been here in a while so lemme give a quick chronological update on my food-fitness journey... cheesy

- stopped drinking soda, fizzy drinks, juice etc. (Tick. I do that too. Just water and fresh fruits)

- stopped drinking milk (er...)

- stopped eating red meat (Tick. Yep)

-stopped eating white meat, eggs and seafood (this was hard) (?? How do you get your calcium? Sounds extreme)

- stopped eating anything that doesn't grow grin grin (You mean, like BabyOsisi's famous candy bars?)

-stopped eating anything with more than one ingredient. (Now this, I don't understand. Abeg explain further...)

It took me 1.5 years to get here, but I'm happy with the progress. It might exteme for most people to stop eating all the food I listed, however, I live in a country where real food is becoming a myth. Everything is processed. Expiration dates on food products are getting extended. Cancer is at an all time high; even if you don't have it in your genes you have a high risk of getting cancer in this country; thanks to the food . It's scary.

So, yh, that's about it. grin
I'll cut myself some slack anytime I travel out of the country.

FamilyRe: Why do people travel abroad and then feel entitled to everything? by EfemenaXY: 6:39am On Jul 09, 2015
ogogoro:
Forgive me, but this is a rant.

I live in Canada with my family and recently, my husbands relative was granted a study visa. Prior to him getting this visa, we all prayed for him and supported him financially as he was having a rough time in Nigeria. He graduated 7 years ago and hadn't been able to secure a job. He had been praying, fasting and finally God did it.

Anyway, we agreed to accommodate him for free, to lend a helping hand, but since he has been living with us, it appears that I have misjudged him.

I have noticed that some people only know how to pray for breakthroughs and to permanently be on the receiving end - never thinking about how to give. I'm not even talking about finances. I have 2 kids, and am pregnant with my 3rd and I work full time and this guy eats and leaves his plates in the sink for me to come and wash, he leaves his clothes for me to wash, even though I have shown him how to use the washing machine on more than 3 occasions. On top of this, he is very noisy - comes into the house late at night not caring that the kids are asleep, stomps up the stairs, bangs the door and starts calling his friends to tell them what God did for him and the good life he's living. Meanwhile, he has woken the kids up and I have to wake up at midnight to put them back to sleep, and i have work the next day! He blasts Nigerian music out of his room constantly, and I used to love Nigerian music, but now I'm sick of it.

On top of it, he'll come to me for assistance to fill out his medical forms, job application forms etc and help him with his studies. The other day, I had to go for a dental appointment and asked him to help me babysit for 1 hour - he said no. I can't imagine how someone can be constantly needing help but offering none in return. I'm really struggling through this pregnancy and making my work around the house while living like a lord is just unfair - especially as this is coming from someone who claims to religious. I have told my husband that I am not prepared to house any more relatives from Nigeria if it is going to cause me more headache than peace of mind, but then when I first came here aged 15, I was housed by a relative for 2 years. How do I handle this situation from a Nigerian perspective?
I'm struggling to understand why you've got reservations addressing him? Is he older than you, perhaps?

Irrespective, you can't be a slave in your own home. You're pregnant and working full time. You need a clean, quiet, and peaceful home on your return from work to relax. Make him understand that he has to clean up his shyte and play by the rules when living as a visitor with someone.

Typical Naija character. Loud and bush for that matter.

It is well.

You people have really helped to regain my lost confidence and increase my self esteem to where it ought to be. Thank you all for the kind comments especially from those with similar experiences. All I can say is God bless you all. I know I've been crying too much but I can't stop. Each time I remember how much time I wasted, my heart cracks again to pieces. I wanted to pray this morning but I couldn't because I know I still have unforgievenss in my heart towards him
Crying is good. You need to let the emotions out, rather than bottling them deep inside you. It's the only way you can start to heal.

Give yourself plenty of time to recover, and while you're at it, use this time to refocus on yourself. Go out there and improve your person. Face your career. Pay attention to your health. Eat clean. Exercise. Meet up with your girlfriends and have fun. But most importantly, take one day at a time. Small baby steps.

And for what it's worth, life doesn't end at 30. You're still young.

@bold seriously o.

Who says fasting and praying doesn't work in This case? The answer to the prayer must not be for the mistress to drop dead. Because given the nature of the man, another mistress will appear.

This one is the correct answer.
Exactly.

She should cut her losses and run. If she can set herself and her kids up in the UK or any of the western countries, then she should do so.

What is the battered wife waiting for?

Opportunities like this are few and far between. She should grab it with both hands and press charges against the randy goat. File everything fileable, and press everything pressable against him. And while she's at it, she should take him to the drycleaners and empty his (stolen loot) accounts.

Or is she too blind to see that her deaconess prayers are finally being answered? All that dry fasting has really paid off.

She better be quick and not mess up.
