If couples take a wedding vow that is not in the Bible, is the vow to God or to man? This made me to sit and wonder: what kind of vow Abraham and Sarah took and they stayed together for 90-solid years, even though childless? What kind of vow did Mary the mother of Jesus and Joseph her husband sign that they stayed together, even though Jesus was conceived by the Holy spirit? Were there any happily married people in the Bible that we can make references to? did they take any vows that we need to read and learn from? For better or for worse, our parents and grandparents, some of whom came from polygamous homes seem to still have it better than what we have nowadays. They didn’t take any vows, did they?
For better or for worse is not in the Bible, where did Christendom get it from? Are there not other things Christians grow up with, beliefs they have, orientations they have which are not in the Bible

the recommendationsmost Christians make for marriage are good. The failure of Christian marriage, however, is that those same people would tell you “for better or worse” means you have to put up with abuse, sexual neglect and addiction. My criticism of this concept has been the same for years: it works great as long as everyone obeys the rules; when they don’t, you’re stuck with no recourse for a spouse’s bad behavior. All the good ideas in the world mean nothing if your misbehaving spouse knows you will never leave. Such a marriage philosophy just creates a breeding ground for neglect and abuse.
I strongly believe that marriages should be for BETTER

To cut all this long story short Jesus said: Matthew 19:5-6 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

If your marriage is a holy matrimony joined by God then no one (including you or your spouse or your pastor or your relatives) is permitted to separate you both. And if for any reason you choose to separate you will remain single until your spouse dies (1 Corinthians 7: 11 and 1 Corinthians 7: 39).

So technically speaking the vow is absolutely correct. The moment you are married in a holy matrimony you are stuck to your partner no matter the situation or circumstance and if you must separate from your spouse you must remain single until your partner dies.

If you want to separate as a Christian, separate but know that it is either konji nearly kee you or you become a murderer and kee your spouse.

Gender equality is madness. Yes I believe everyone irrespective of gender should be provided a level playing field and have access to the same opportunities but gender equality does not describe this at all.

First, how many genders are we equalizing? Today there are like over a hundred genders with every gender group fighting for prominence so how many genders are we equalizing. Is a transwoman equal to a biological woman? Well a transwoman impregnated female inmates in a New Jersey prison and this flies in the face of equality. Second. How do you equate genders without comparing oranges with tangerine. Yes both orange and tangerine share a lot of similarities but it utterly despicable to deem them equal. A man is a man and a woman is a woman they are not equal. One man plus one woman equals one man and one woman.

Third. This gender equality crap backfires spectacularly in our liberal world. Now misogynistic and patriarchal men can simply identify as women and claim equality with women. This would result in more men escaping responsibility for their actions as men. In addition biological males who identify as women can now compete with women in traditional women domains and with the inherent bias of a patriarchal society on their side the discrimination against women becomes much much worse. An example can be seen in the participation of transwomen in biological women's sports and the use of women's safe spaces by so called transwomen.

Fourth. Gender equality does not equalize the outcomes of genders across social, economic and political strata. Why do women want to be equal to high performing men (who make up 1% of men globally)? Why not seek to be equal to the worst men in the society? Men are mostly bricklayer. Men are mostly mechanics. Who jumps into your septic tank to scoop your shit, mostly men. Who mounts pylons to install national grids, mostly men. Who work on oil rigs, mostly men. Why not seek equality in these occupations? Men commit suicide disproportionately more. Should we equalize that? Men do poorly in school compared to the women. Should we equalize that?

Five. Gender equality ignores inequalities within genders. Can we for goodness sake have a conversation about how and why some women are much much more richer, more fulfilled and have higher life expectancies than some other women within the same geographical, economic, political and social realities? Why does DJ Cuppy have access to more life choices than your average Shomolu, Mushin, Orile or Bariga girl of the same age? Can we have that conversation?

Six. When are we going to examine other inequalities. Health inequalities, educational inequalities, financial inequalities and a host of other inequalities caused by tribalism, ethnic and racial marginalisation?

Seven. What have the proponents and champions of gender equality done concerning social issues disproportionately affecting women all around the world, apart from making a lot of noise. Women are the drivers and victims of pornography the most. What have feminists done concerning it?

My dad and mum died recently and after their death, so many things has happened that ordinarily would make anyone depressed.

Today, my elder sister(same father and mother) is getting married but I was not told neither invited. It happened that my reputation has been totally soiled by my own family, I will talk about this later.

My elder brother(same father and mother) recently travelled to the United States, it was my Uncle, a wealthy Delta politician and notable emeritus that made it all happened. I wasn't told by my siblings though, I heard it from one of my uncles, I was happy for him even though we didn't get along well.

My brother was well educated by my dad that spent so much money to send him to study as a Pharmacist, I gained admission while he was in 300level, along the line in my 3rd year, I was asked to drop out of school, my mum was of the opinion that my brother needed to graduate first before me. Not like we didn't have money, my father was doing excellently well financially then, but my mum insistent made it impossible for me to continue and after much struggle here and there, i retreated back to the house in defeat. Turned out, my brother had problem while in school which led to extra year for him...

It was a difficult moment for me, depression and addiction stepped in which i will completely ignore right now...

My dad later made my brother a signatory to his bank account when he had a severe stroke but with time, things escalated between my dad and my brother. My dad accused him of stealing money from his bank account and so involved my step brothers who later took it upon themselves that it was their birth right to be signatory instead, being that we are from the 2nd wife. I was also involved too, at this point I have gone back to school out of my own volition, I had to hustle money for everything because I knew no one would foot my school bills. While In school, my dad called me that my brother wants to kill him(metaphorically). I was the one he sent to my step brother to report the issue...

A lot happened since then, my dad stroke got even worse, he got maltreated and hated by those he spent money on. Whenever he was to be taken for treatment in a far away place, I would be called from school by my mum to help take him there which made me wonder why my brother or sisters she spent money on was not called.

After my dad and mum died early this year, i knew it would be an issue considering how the family was divided and how they hated one another. So, as a final year student, I was very broke this period and was advised to call my uncle who was a lover of education being a retired Emeritus and a current federal office holder. I sent him a text on WhatsApp outlining my demands in school and a full plea for help. That same afternoon, his son called me to say his dad called him. For what ?, well, he said the dad said I should not influence him and that my elder brother told him my girl and I poured boiled rice on my mum and beat her, and that I stole from my dad and reported my mum to family counsel in the village for maltreating my dad when he was sick... He said a lot of unbelievable lies... I was very down, not because he has spoilt my opportunity to get money for my school fees and project but moreso because he used me as a topic of bad egg to curry favour from my uncle.

Yesterday, I was told my elder sister is getting married today.... I can't even say everything because i don't want to be looked on like I was the best child after ogogoro. It's so painful that my dad who would have corrected all these and make my uncle understand is no more.

Dude if what you have said up there is true and you know you don't want to die the death of your parents pack your bag and baggages and escape from that family of yours. Cut off all contacts and hustle in silence. If not, bro, na your obituary den go print soon ohh!

Be An Eagle

The eagle never fights the snake on the ground. After snatching it, it lifts it up into the sky and changes the battleground, and then releases it from the sky to fall hard on the ground.

The eagle’s powerful eye vision, raw speed, and agility, are its greatest advantages. Speed of attack is even more important. It doesn't matter how fast or poisonous the snake is.

Aiming at it from several miles up in the sky, the eagle makes no mistakes. One mistake could mean instant death for the eagle.

Taking the snake by complete surprise, using its razor-sharp talons, and powerful legs, the eagle strikes the snake very fast, at its most vulnerable part, mostly around the neck and the body. It's an ambush. The snake tries to writhe around and struggle, but its efforts are futile.

As the eagle flies high into the sky, it continues tearing at the snake’s body several times using its sharp beak until the snake is completely paralyzed. At this point, the snake is helpless because it can’t even turn around.

The eagle continues it’s upward flight into the sky, until at some point, it feels safe to suddenly release the snake to fall hard on the ground from the sky. And before the snake even knows what happened, the eagle snatches it again and lifts it to a very high place. The snake is still unconscious as it's being eaten. It never even knows what ate it…

Take a lesson from the eagle. Don't fight the opponent in his/her turf. Change the battleground like the eagle and fight the battle high in the sky like an eagle. You'll be assured of a clean victory.

An eagle never fights the opponent on its turf where the opponent has the greatest advantage. That’s how it's able to capture, maim, kill and eat some of the most deadly snakes in the world, including cobras, black mambas, and fish.

2. Be Like Water

Be like water. When water is poured into a glass, jar, or any container, it takes the shape of that container.

Take the war to your turf, where the opponent knows nothing about. If you fight the opponent on their turf, you'll definitely lose the battle.

Play down any suggestions by the opponent to take you to their turf. If the opponent want's to argue, don't argue back. Instead, say nothing and remain like that until the opponent is frustrated. Argument mongers hate silence.

Only say something when you're absolutely sure about what you want to say. The opponent may try to provoke you. Don’t just argue for the sake of argument. Otherwise just shut up, and always remain in your turf.

Be patient—another weapon the opponent hates. Repeat the process a few more times until the opponent loses the argument.

3. Hit the Opponent Below the Belt.

This is a psychological tactic, which involves causing the opponent to think they're winning the battle. The result is that the opponent will lower their guard. Don't waste time. Hit the opponent so hard below the belt by asking them an unexpected question they can't answer.

You'll know the opponent is frustrated when they start fumbling awkwardly with the question until they have no choice but get annoyed.

Have no mercy at this point. Hit the opponent under the belt—again, and again.

You'll know the opponent is your prey when they change their face, have nothing more to say, and get evidently annoyed. By this time your opponent has no choice but take flight.

I identify the assumptions or presuppositions that form the basis of your argument and pose questions probing the veracity of those assumptions or presuppositions. In the event that the opponent cannot articulate a fact or logic based response to my questions I follow up with a presentation of my argument based on an update of my opponents assumptions or presuppositions in the light of facts or logical reasoning. Call it argumentative jijitsu. Use the flaws in your opponents arguments to build a counter argument.

Be quick to spot fallacies. Arguing from authority (argumentum ad verecundiam) is a fallacy. That a mathematician claims that 1+1 is 11 does not make it right. Arguing by insults or by denigrating a person proposing an argument (argumentum ad hominem) is a fallacy. Insulting or denigrating the proponent does not invalidate his/her proposition. Intimidating or bullying a proponent using verbose, technical or professional jargon (argumentum ad baculum) does not prove an argument. False deriving a proposition from an argument and proceeding to prove the falsely derived proposition false (strawman fallacy) is also a fallacy. Watch out for these fallacies and point them out when they are made. In the event that your opponent keeps rambling and not deriving coherent conclusions from logical premises realize that your opponent is no longer arguing rather he or she is just rambling and just shut up. You should not correct a die hard fool because in his or her eyes he or she is always right.

I watched a skit a few minutes ago and I remembered an incident that happened last year. I have her permission to share without revealing names or locations. Also some details have been changed.

A mother asked to use her fifteen year old daughter’s phone for some days while her own phone was being repaired.

WhatsApp messages dropped on the phone. Her daughter had passworded her WhatsApp so she couldn’t see the messages.

Out of curiosity, she tried some passwords and her daughter’s birthday was the password. She opened the WhatsApp and almost died, with the shock of what she saw.

A man in the next building had been chatting with her daughter. He had made several sexual advances towards her, which the daughter refused. He was adamant. He pursued her. He sent her recharge cards, came to her school to give her gifts and money.

He asked her if she had a boyfriend or have ever had intimacy, she said no. He pursued her some more.

He requested for her pictures, almost unclad, which she initially refused to send him but when he sent his, she sent hers. It was nothing too revealing as she was in her bra and underwear.

He taught her how to password her WhatsApp.

Then he pushed for more. He wanted to see her completely nude. She couldn’t take such a picture because she shared a room with her siblings.

He asked her to lock herself in the bathroom for them to have a video call.

She saw messages like “Did you like what you saw?” “ Stop being shy around me.” “Why are you afraid? Nobody will see you.” He sent a picture of his nudity to her. A girl of fifteen!

It became terrifying when her daughter sent a chat saying she saw him with his wife the other night and he ignored her. She knew her daughter had fallen and it was a matter of time before the guy had his way.

She contacted me and asked me for advice. I have helped her in the past so she felt she could confide in me.

The truth is, when such a thing happens, you have to get someone who will treat the man’s Bleep-up very well. Who is the person who will be angry enough to do that No other person than her father.

She was scared her husband will dump the blame on her. She was looking for another way to handle it without him.

I told her, “If you handle it quietly, the man will be wiser and will ensure he won’t be caught since he is obsessed with your daughter that he patiently groomed her. It is best he is disgraced and only her father will do that unless he is a useless man that’s when he will keep quiet.” I told her she is lucky the girl hadn’t agreed to be alone with the man anywhere. It was getting close to that.

Her husband didn’t disappoint me. Immediately he read the chats and saw the ‘manhood’ he took off to the man’s house that night. The wife ran after him. He banged continuously on the gate.

Well, the man got what was coming to him. He was disgraced. The evidence of their chats were there. His neighbours were shocked because he portrayed a picture of a saint but he was the devil and also a paedophile.

The husband wanted to take the matter to the Police but everyone begged. The landlord of their house and the man’s house also appealed to him not to escalate the matter. They begged him not to expose his chats on social media as his wife, my friend, had promised to do.

The culprit’s wife left him. He eventually had to move out of the house immediately the rent was due. The disgrace was too much for them to handle. Everywhere he went in the neighborhood, mothers were wary of him around their daughters.

They have collected the phones from their children. If you are not in university, no more phones.

How did they handle the girl? I asked them not to beat her. But the father refused to listen. He said she had brought disgrace to the household. He wanted to send her to the village but I stopped him. She needed therapy not to be shamed. I told the mother to take her to see a psychologist at Yaba left. It worked!

Older men groom very young girls and turn them into sex slaves. It was what this man was doing. The kind of chats they had was irritating coming from a grown man. He was able to make her do some of the things he wanted by doing them first.

That phone your daughter holds very dear to her heart, please once in a while, check it. Make sure she is not being groomed for someone’s perversion. Check what she is doing and advise her. Anyone younger than sixteen shouldn’t be on social media. Anyone still in secondary school shouldn’t be there too, regardless of their age.

Girls have been lured to travel abroad to be sex slaves, all by grooming or greed. They make them hate their families and believe they are the only ones that love them . They give them attention and say sweet things to them often. It is easy to fall for such.

Teach your children these signs and also do not expose them unnecessarily to these men. Paedophiles are evolving. They are getting smarter. We have to keep our girls safe.

The internet is loaded with content too powerful for teenagers who are still in their formative years. As for me my teenagers will not have a phone until they are 18 and mature enough to understand responsibility, reward, punishment, purpose and the basic rules of life.

Dude the EU and US are not helping Ukraine. This war will end badly. With Russia, China and India teaming up the odds are not in Ukraine's favour. If Russia, India and China keep all their trade among themselves they have a combined market of at least 2 billion people. So sanctions may not work. The only thing that will work is an all out confrontation of Russia by EU and US and they don't want to do that due to the risk of a nuclear war. Giving Ukrainians Javelins, anti-ship missiles and other equipment will not end this war. It will keep going until someone gives up and I don't see Putin giving up anytime soon. I only pity the Ukrainian people.

It's funny how this war is being promoted on both sides. Will sinking a Russian warship end the war? People have been displaced, civilians have been turned to soldiers, the carnage is real yet many are cheerleading from the comfort of their homes. By the time this war is over Ukraine would have been reduced to rubble or we would be hiding in underground shelters from nuclear fallout.

What Is Infidelity?

See you calling those have started having sex before they got married "fornicators" but you are here providing a justification for infidelity in the name of being "thrown into an opportunity they didn't anticipate" . You cannot be moral and immoral at the same time pick one side and stay there.

Opportunities do not just happen to people as you suggest rather people practically court themselves into the temptation that ultimately leads to infidelity. You said: "Maybe they were drinking" but you didn't ask why on earth you would be in a compromising location having an alcoholic drink with someone that is not your spouse? If you want a drink, go home and have your drink there so that when you feel like misbehaving you can misbehave with your wife. You said "...since it is a situation that can be amended" without asking how infidelity can be amended. If your wife was "mistakenly" fvcked for hours by 10incher she cannot be unfvcked by mistake. She will spend the rest of her life remembering that "sweet mistake" and start hoping, wishing and praying to make to another "mistake". What if that "mistake" leads to a pregnancy? Would "amending it" mean asking her to do an abortion? An abortion that could claim her life? Dude some deeds cannot be undone and somethings cannot be mended. This is why infidelity in the Judeo-worldview attracts the death penalty because only death can resolve the imbalance generated by infidelity. So guy, if you are thinking of making the "mistake" I talked about or falling into the "opportunity" you talked about, then think again, because if your wife catches you she will be justified if she dumps your sorry ass, gets a divorce and keeps of the children.

I believe that there is no perfect marriage but most people always try to apply mature in other to save their homes.

I expect more maturity from educated couple base on their knowledge, experience and exposure, yet some of them stil end up on divorce while uneducated one try to manage Thier home and leave longer.

Most of those okada have more than one wife but their wife never divorce them.

Why do marriage of uneducated couples last longer than educated ones?

I don't think this is fact based but some conjectures can be formed around these issues. Education basically gives people power to make meaningful and profitable decisions and hence does not necessarily lead to higher divorce rates particularly when you have not controlled for some other key factors that could be driving divorces. Divorce is predicated mainly on stark differences/disagreements and tolerance levels between/of the couple. This makes divorce driven by character, ideals, dispositions and lifestyle and not only the intellectual capacity of couples. However, I can theorize that given the character, ideals, disposition and lifestyle of a couple, divorce is highly likely among educated couples because they have the power to get a divorce and survive socio-economically. To break this down, imagine Mr. A and Mrs B. are both educated but Mr. A is a traditional womanizer who would like to have multiple sex partners but would not tolerate his wife doing the same (lifestyle) and Mrs B. is a radical feminist (ideals). If these two happened to hide their lifestyles before marriage they will get married and have children but soon enough their lifestyles will come to the surface and when that happens Mrs B. being a radical feminist would like to also enjoy the privilege of having multiple sex partners like her husband and soon enough her decision will be confronted by her husband's counter position. Both of them can easily seek a divorce because given their character and lifestyle they have the power to survive economically and sexually thanks to the power granted them by education. However if both of them are not educated and Mrs B despite being a feminist is a key economic player in the home, Mr A will have to make his activities top top secret and if madam finds out he would have to apologize, whine and beg because he knows he could easily get into economic hardship without the support of his wife and this could happen the other way round where the woman is economically dependent so even if she is a feminist she would have to endure living with her philandering husband because she would find it difficult surviving a divorce. So in a nutshell, education alone does not drive divorces there are other factors and those factors are strongly connected to character, lifestyle, attitudes, worldviews, traditions, values and other difficult-to-measure variables.
