If Biafra were independent nation from 1966 to date, the country will be dragging economic might with Asian tigers like China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia etc, not South Africa. Biafra would have launch Africa positively on the world map as a black economy powerhouse. A people that could organized themselves to manufacture Amoured tanks and spectacular weapons from scratch to hold Nigeria for 3 good years to the amazement of America and Europe shows the ability and ingenuity of Biafrans. Biafra would have join the like of America and Russia as major arms suppliers in the world!
Now imagine them channeling that same energy and spirit to develop their country economically? The black race would have gain more respect today. But because of the virus of One Nigeria, that reality was dashed - (but not forever, Biafra will raise again).
Nigeria is nothing but a glorified village. A country cursed with mediocrity, terrorism, quota system, and the ''Put them down Syndrome.''
Nigeria can't even boast of a world class city. Countries like Ivory Coast have better and well developed cities than Nigeria.
The fact that the God forsaken country is even struggling economically with South Africa is a big shame because Nigeria's economy was on the same level with South Korea in 1960. Today South Korea is not only competing with China, the country has world class companies competing with the likes of Apple and General Mottors of America! And we here celebrating mediocrity. What's the benefit of being Africa's largest economy when we can't even manufacture pencils? Does Nigeria have a functional steel company? How can Nigeria become an industrial manufacturing hub when common Abeokuta steel complex is in shambles? Nigeria is nothing but a failed state!
South Africa's economy, as it is even in recession is still by far more robust and developed in manufacturing, service industry, commerce, power, infrastructure than Nigeria. Remove crude oil from the country's economy and Nigeria will disappear from the world map!
Total division of Nigeria is the only way out of this perennial economic calamity that is Nigeria.
ONE NIGERIA IS DEAD!
Your country would not even drag economic might with Somalia...pinning the excuse of the failure of your leaders on their failed attempt at secession is just childish - I think I need to apologize to children worldwide for considering this childish. Your leaders have done nothing to reign in the most important resources of the East - people and time - towards building an East that could grow into a giant powerful enough to challenge Nigeria as a whole...I can guess you will still be complaining about the misdeeds of your leaders as much as you are complaining about the leaders of Nigeria today...well yes, that is all you can possibly do...complain!!!

Who says some women aren't enjoying their marriage? What has sowing and reaping got to do with all she saidhuh
A marriage is above the individual parties that constitute it and hence when you fight for a marriage you fight for an entity big enough to produce generations of people and ideas. Hence it is foolish to tag fighting for your marriage as fighting for a man.

Spouses who are quick to throw away their marriage based on the excuse that no one is worth fighting for cannot sit and ask themselves why they ever got married in the first place. They cannot ask what changed between when they hit the aisle and now that they are at cross roads...instead of asking these questions and getting answers they just throw away their marriage like the worthless garbage it was when it started.

And these same fools will be in a hurry to jump into the next marriage without asking themselves the core questions concerning marriage! And when their folly begins to yield fruit and their marriage hits the rocks they shout "no is worth fighting for" from the rooftops!

And if there is no other room what should he do? Relocate to the roof? Your statement makes an excuse for verbal excuse but punishes physical abuse. That's not wise at all. Ladies are fond of running their mouth like tap and expecting the everything to go fine...inasmuch as physical abuse is shunned so also verbal and psychological abuse from women towards men should also be shunned!

GodLovingMe2020:
I had the same experience for 24 long years with a woman who was “madly in Love” but now claims to have no emotional attachment to me. The worse part was that she won’t leave my house so I could get on with my life. I couldn’t throw her out because she is the mother of my children. No sex, no affection, we were not sleeping in the same bedroom, we never had any discussion as a couple.

We used to go to church together, and from the outside it looked as if we were an ideal couple. Only my children knew what was happening in our home.

I am the breadwinner even though I registered her to study law, sponsored her law education and today she is a lawyer. I bought two cars fir her and did many many things for her. She had the audacity to open her mouth to tell me she never loved me. I asked her, so why did you marry me? She said, “Can’t you marry somebody you don’t love?” That was about six years ago. She said the only person she ever loved was a fellow youth corper she met while doing her youth service, before I met her. She wanted to continue with the guy after youth service, but the guy had other plans and told her to move on.

When I met her, she was struggling in life but I offered to help her since I had a very good job and earning a fantastic salary. Just last December, she told me she was traveling to see her people and that was the last time I saw her. I understand she has a job at her place, but her things are still in my place. Her people have not called me to ask anything.

The things some men go through at the hands of women.....,,,,,,........
@Girlwhocares, here is a story quite similar to what you are saying but here there are more details. Clearly the lady in question here never committed herself to be in a marriage and after wrecking havoc in another man's life she vanishes. I wonder how people live like this and never believe retribution is waiting somewhere in the future for them!
Family › Re: Married But I'm Not Connected With My Husband, Hence I'm Depressed by efficiencie(m): 11:20am On Feb 23, 2020
@Girlwhocares love is not an emotion...love is a commitment to sacrifice your convenience for the good of someone who may be less deserving. Your husband is already doing this despite your terrible attitude. Your husband is already being a beacon of hope in your marriage whilst you are busy trying to put out the light...you should ditch your emotions, for they are tricky and treacherous and make a commitment to fight for your marriage. Try to be good to your husband, even if it feels uncomfortable. Try to be around your husband even if it feels irritating. Try to be your husband's solace in bed daily even if you have to endure it...Lastly, pray to the founder of the first marriage to save your marriage. Seek counsel. Go for deliverance prayers. Jesus loved us so much that whilst we were yet terrible hurtful sinners, He died for us. Jesus was committed to sacrificing His convenience for our good even when we were less deserving...you should do the same for your husband or you might face even dire consequences!

There is something risky about this. Doing the laundry is not reserved for any gender but this must not eclipse the role of husband and wife as helpers. If that boy is raised to believe that everyone by default does his laundry he will lose out on the connubial norm that spouses can get support from partners on any issue - including laundry. There are men today who are so fixated on doing their tasks themselves that they find it odd to accept assistance even when it is needed.

I concur.
Male and female passengers should not be in the same tricycle because life in Nigeria is something else now.

I know someone who fingered a married woman who was on her way to see her husband who was hospitalised inside a keke.

The story goes like this.
She flagged down the keke unknown to her it was chartered by the gentleman in it.
Gentleman who was hungry for adventure asked the rider to pick her

She got in, saw the sporty man in it; apparently sized him up and he weighed more than gold to her so in common fashion she keyed in to the conversation he struck up with her and proceeded to narrate her lifestory of woes to him.

He asked for her number and her account number, she obliged.

USSD strings were strung, alerts rung and it brought the lady in distress closer to tears in gratitude to fate for gifting her a ride of favour and also in pain, thinking how unfair life had been to her.

Dude leaned closer to console her, somehow his hand found it's way into her hallowed chamber and his fingers worked the lock like a blacksmith.
He poked and turned, twisted it, turned it like he was making semovita.

Lady had no concern in the world about the keke rider who minded his business, mentalizing the encounter of a lifetime.

Well, long story short.
Woman's husband has been discharged and is well.
My friend is still in the country.
His stay is even more fun by this woman who keeps him sexually company at any given opportunity in return for some token of appreciation.

So yes.
Ganduje is right.
In a socially stiffled place like Kano where poverty and conji are rife.
Men and women should not be in the same tricycle because everyone is vulnerable.
If for every risk we enact a law instead of addressing the root cause of the risk I tell you life will be a living hell. Kano has the highest accident rates in Nigeria, so because of this problem let's ban all vehicles and make everyone go on foot, right? Do pedestrians have accidents while walking? So let's enact a law banning all vehicles! Get the gist.

Okay kidnapping is rife along Kano-Kaduna road so let's enact a law to ban all interstate road travels involving Kaduna roads. That way highway kidnapping will end, right?

This is a fools way of thinking. A society riddled with poverty and deprivation will always come up creative ways of committing the same crime irrespective of the laws enacted. A wise move will be to address poverty and deprivation and improve welfare!

Family › Re: Should I Keep Enduring In This Supposed Marriage? by efficiencie(m): 10:43am On Dec 19, 2019
Dude you are not ready for a marriage yet. You were not responsible enough to decide not to get the lady pregnant before really knowing her. If you had given the relationship time and not jumped into sexual intimacy you would have by now discovered the incompatibility between you two and would have easily left the relationship without breaking a sweat. In your current state you cannot manage a marriage because even the most saintly of ladies will argue with you. You need to get mentoring from people with successful marriages, study about marriage and parenting, set your goals and aspirations, identify your strengths and weaknesses and clearly spell out your assets and liabilities...it is after sorting out all these that you can search for a lady that has a good understanding of marriage and what it entails, someone whose goals and aspirations line up with yours, someone whose strengths and weaknesses match yours, someone whose assets can adequately cater for your liabilities and whose liabilities your assets can adequately manage...

You had better continue with your boyfriend-girlfriend runz if you are not really ready for marriage...

You asked me a question and then answered it yourself. Why bother asking then?

For the record, I have had quite a few interactions with the police. The cases involved fraud, shooting, road traffic accidents and armed robbery. I have written statements at police stations in a number of states across the country.

So far I have not been locked up. That may change tomorrow. I cannot tell.

Another poster spoke about how several people banded together in a case like this to prove to the police that there was no foul play on their part.

I understand that some people may have had a nasty experience while trying to be their brother's/sister's keepers. But that shouldn't be used to discourage others who want to do the right thing.

It can be done.
You should read this and understand that the police is not an institution that serves the people but one that people have a real reason to dread.

I will not give excuses for women who refuse to do their homework because they want to be the first among their friends to get married. the Nigerian society being the way it is (thanks to people who perpetrate cycles of bad actions and perceptions concerning women throughout every generation), these women just jumped into the fray, without discernment, because they do not want to be the laughing stock, they want to be the ones laughing.
So, here it goes:
Selfishness
Conceit
Ego
Carelessness
Pride
Desire to be the Ultimate Woman, to have it all, at an early age (you people will call her evening newspaper if she doesn't get married early)
etc, etc.
Does it matter what "you people" call a lady? Does it matter for how long she will last in her marriage? Does it matter whether she will be married at all? I strongly believe one thing. No hardworking, sincere and godly man will put anything but character, purpose and destiny ahead as a criteria for choosing a spouse. Why will I pay bride price, dole out money for wedding and drain my finance on setting up for family all for a lady who will spread her legs for a neighbor who didn't even buy her bottle water as a gift during her wedding... If you are a good thing, an asset, a blessing as a lady, men will fall over themselves to marry you and you would sieve the chaff from the wheat and get into a blissful marriage!

I have no reason to reply you
it's your thinking
everyone's perspective differs
thank you
My apologies for offending you, I never intended to. Yes people lie and others become a victim of such and perhaps this may explain the case of your mom and perhaps my reply should not have been directed at your mom but I assure you that many today have fanned the idea that only a fool tells a woman the truth. Simi in her song said: lie to me if the truth will break my heart and this is the case with many ladies today. They would rather hear a lie and succumb to it than hear the hard truth and make a well thought out decision.

I am sorry again for offending you...cheers!

Imagine this scenario, a boy, while growing up, witnessed continuous mistreatments meted out by his Dad- in form of infidelity, physical and emotional abuse, witholding finances and sex until his will is done-on his Mom. His mom, being financially dependent on his dad, stayed put in the marriage. This boy while growing up has glorified suffering, he believes that a woman who continues enduring suffering is a virtuous woman who prioritize marital stability over everything else, including her own peace of mind. Once he reaches adulthood, this boy/man, metes this same treatment on every woman he meets, as a litmus test to ascertain if that woman is a virtuous woman like his mother. Since he doesn't know a better way to treat women (his dad is his automatic role model). Once those ladies walk away, he generalises that modern girls are bad, they are not virtuous like his mom. Thousands of men/boys are like this, and some women will be unfortunate enough to come across them, even marry them.
My question is: why are women so unfortunate to ever agree to marry such a person? why do women almost never focus on the content of character in their choice of a spouse? why do women fall for very frivolous things and not the core aspects of a persons psyche? This is the question ladies need to answer sincerely. Yes, there are young males raised in terrible environments (so are most young females today) but why do ladies settle to marry without considering character as the foremost criterion?

please do not ever say women are at fault ,how about men ? my mom divorced my dad and yes am in support of her divorcing him after 23 years ,imagine a man telling a lie to a 20 year old lady that he has certificates (studied architecture ,lied about his age and so many other things ) ,just for my mom to discover after bn married to him that they were all lies ,if not that she is a graduate of chem eng which has been helping her ,I swear life will be difficult.
my dad right from when I was born till date and that of my siblings he has never paid a dime on us (school fess ,food upkeep ,any other thing ) all he does is to fold his legs. mom paid her labour bills for I and my siblings ,d house we live in mom built it and all d furnitures in it she bought them ,she gives him money for different business (huge sums and all he does is to bet naija or sell some furnitures in the house or fold his legs ) I can't even state all what he has done but please do not say women are the issue .....if not for my mom I wouldn't be a graduate ,I and my siblings won't go to school , father doesn't call ,if I ask him he will say borrow from your friends na, ... can u imagine that!!?
How did your mom, with all that education, fall for a guy who lied about his education, lied about his age and lied about many other things? This is the question you should ask. Your mom did not propose to your Dad it happened the other way round. Your mom was sought out by the man and she agreed to a life long relationship with him, so the question is what did your mom consider as a criteria for choosing such an irresponsible man? This is the problem with ladies today. You choose a man based on some shallow criteria and when shit happens you turn it on the man completely. You decide to bring ant infested wood into your home and you are complaining that your home is full of lizards...Ladies should stop using very frivolous and stupid criteria for sieving suitors and they should focus primarily on character, attitude and disposition. But if you tell ladies this, den go tok sey "na character, attitude and disposition we go chop? Shey na im go pay the bills?" and in the end they live with regrets!
Family › Re: Men Have Become More Randy, Intolerant And Abusive Than Before. by efficiencie(m): 9:18am On Dec 05, 2019
Men don't become toxic overnight. They have been toxic even before marriage but the blind, dumb, stupid and outstandingly foolish ladies of our time would never take note of the toxicity of the man as long as he has a heavy bank account, a job, a car, a fancy house and can finance the fool's trip to Dubai. Lol. If you must eat yam with palm oil with your bare hands you cannot escape staining your hands with palm oil. You speak of men being randy but you interestingly decided to omit the role of the women with whom these have expressed their randiness to. Why do ladies have a penchant for married men? Why is it so hard for a lady to say no to a married man? Divorces are the result of men and women making marital decisions that should never have happened. Correct your self-sustained ignorance.
