Education / Re: FG Bans SSS1, SSS2 Students From Taking External WASSCE, NECO, NABTEB by ekerintee: 2:56pm On Sep 24, 2021
I think in Nigeria ,we Like rushing things.no Matter how brilliant you ,i dont think u are allowed to Skip any class in Europe.Am Not so Sure anyway, but i think in Nigeria, anything goes.A Parent can decide His child goes to University from ss1 ,passing an exam does Not mean you covered the required Curriculum. So studying to Pass an exam does Not mean indepth knowlege of the syllabus.so there is a good and Bad Side to IT.alot of Parent have abused the Process and hence there is need for regulation.on the other Hand ,some Student write the exam in oder to prepare for the final exam

kingphilip:
Most SS1 and SS2 pupils who write these external examinations at that level do so to test their preparedness for the examination.

Most of them still end up doing SS3 because before the result comes out, the next session would have resumed.

I think they should also ban the writing of Primary School leaving certificate in Primary 4 and 5 if that is the case.

This measure won't solve anything. They should let those kids be!!!

Shey they don't want those examination bodies to be posting outrageous profits ni?

And if they don't pass?

Shey no be money dem waste?

I am still trying to Unserstand If there is more to the allegations.from my little understanding, abass bribed him with some Money .I See alot of peeople been sentimental Here ,assuming He bribed some local Police at Checkpoint to Deal with an enemy.will the US ASK that the affected Police be extradicted .i think those involved shud be tried in Nigeria where they have commited the crime .All politicians are guilty of using the Military to Fight opponnent, even the Common nigerians Use their Military Friends to oppress their rivals .we are sometimes hyprocrite ,almost everone in Nigeria is guilty of this .I dont Know If there are more evident of large amount being transfered to ABBA kyari,If there is more to this ,i feel totally sorry for him ruining His career on a Bad Note .He cant travel Out of the country again If He is Not extradited.he is a good Cop No doubt with a Bad Side.i Hope He Comes out of this.its a Lesson to all ,never dine with the devil.

alcuin:

Yes, agreed.

He bribed Kyari, agreed also.

But this bribery was done in Nigeria, not in the USA. No offense was committed by Kyari against the USA.

He abused his office in Nigeria. So, I don't understand why USA is issuing arrest warrant on him.

Everyone has a good and Bad side.No Guy the Guy is an Excellent Cop but mixing with the wrong group is about to rubish His career.Everyone Has a social Life, mixing His career Life with social Life is about rubishing His good works and end His career. However,i think the American system was wrong by Not communicating with Nigeria Police WHO shud invesigate the allegations and protect their staff where necessary. The Western world will always find a Way to tarnish africans.its a Pity the officer got himself involved

Faiththatworks:
I said it yesterday that although Abba kyari might not be the best example of a model cop he's better than 90% of the present cops in the Nigerian police.
Yes Abba kyari methods are archaic, unorthodox, unconstitutional, and even outside the rules of engagement, but the man has sent a lot of kidnappers, murderers, armed robbers to meet their maker in the great beyond.
Abba kyari offence was being an enforcer for Hushpuppet,he wasn't part of Hushpuppet fraudulent network.
He is guilty of making sure Hushpuppet fraudulent crew always pay him his share, that's his offence, fraud by association.
I daresay that a lot of officers are guilty of these, every fraudster has an enforcer either in the Police,Armed forces, civil defence, and almost all para military forces that they use to enforce fraudulent deals.
This should serve a lesson to all these force men and women and para military forces, when the chips are down, your decision to be an enforcer for fraud will be used against you.
Enough said

I think the abba kyari was used to settle a Score ,i think Most people Use their Friends in Military to oppress people when there is Problem.its Happens everywhwre in Nigeria ,i have a Problem with you ,i give some Military people Cash to treat your fuckup.its a Pity that He got himself Mixed Up with the wrong Person .Possibly hispuspi told him that the Person duped him or threaten him and Just gave the officer and His Boys some Things for Weekend .this Happens in Nigeria and May Not be a Big Thing ,politicians do IT,Girls Use their Military Boyfriend to Deal with Guys WHO are threat.i Hope the whole Story is Not more dirty than this .

AirFireEarthH20:
This is the same Super Criminal Police man Nairaland Team has been celebrating almost on a daily basis. Always putting anything on Kyari on front page to celebrate him and other criminal appointees of this Satanic government. Nigeria media is evil. What i am beginning to Unserstand is,there May be some Kind of reward offeredd to the custom of all These neighbouring countries. It May say ,If you can give us this man when you See him,we will pay you such an amount.i am also thinking the Kenya govt May Not be aware of Kanus kidnap.it May be a contract awarded to some Gang in Kenya or some private Security company by the Nigerian government. If the government says whoever can give us this Person gets this amount .Then it becomes a Game for the notorious Gang and a Game for all.Anything can Happen in Nigeria .

humberjade:
The Beninese must be under intense pressure now, not knowing how to play this game...whether to free him or hand him over.

1. They depend so much on Nigeria
2. The Yorubas are the 3rd largest ethnic group in Benin Republic.
3. They are neighbours with the Yorubas.
4. Extradition laws doesn't favour both govts.
5. Buratai's presence and pressure in Benin.

If the political class in the SW can rally round him, Benin won't have any choice but to release him.

Let's see how it all plays out

I dont think the british Media refer to him AS a Briton, they refer to him AS a Nigerian Biafra activitist or Agitator. This white people can give you their Passport but will never publicly accept you as a citizen.Theoretically,he might be a Briton on paper ,but in reality, they will never accept him AS one of them .

If you listen to foreign Media ,they will never call him british. They will refer to him AS Nigeria Born biafra activist.even If you are granted protections by a foreign government, there are laws Binding their protections ,there are some places they will Tell you never to Go,even in some cases ,you need to seek permissions to move Out of the country .So when someone WHO is protected goes Out of their territory without permissions,He is in His own .This applies to anyone also under political asylum .we dont really Know what Kind of document or relationship Bw MNK and the british.I Must say even passports get Levels. So If He Breaks the Rules concerning britain protecting him,i doubt If they can be of much Help to him

abnot:

Well I learnt about 10 years ago from an Indian cab driver that holding a British passport doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy all the privileges due to a citizen. He held a British passport as his grand parents migrated to U.K. in the 60s but he lamented at how the system still didn’t recognise him and many non Anglo-Saxon of them each time he applied for one benefit or the other. In this case I’m not sure the British government are on his side . Calling on the Bristosh government to help out won’t do much as if they wanted to they’d have started making moves before now

Never Trust White men, they have Level of citizens. And some countries dont even Count foreigners who hold their Passport AS their own citizens. And even they May decide to revoke the citizenship of a foreigner If IT will Bring Shame to their country.Passport can be revoked, the White men are very wise and May decide to be silent now.

I have always told my friends that really want to travel out at all cost that the best you can be in another man's land is a glorified refugee, citizenship or not.
Is it possible that Nigerian government bundles up a white Britain the way they've bundled kanu... No matter what the offense may be and Britain would have not acted..... It's impossible. Citizenship or not.... When issues arise they will definitely segregate.

You are paid for the certificates you have and skills. All over the world ,graduates earn more than non graduates in some fields aside I.T.its only in the i.t sectors that certificates dont really Matters .You dont get skills in the University or poly. You get IT through Experience when working or self developed.every country has the skills IT wants .So Most of Our graduates dont have the skills needed abroad.Unless someone WHO has Developed himself peraonally. As an Engineering Student ,you learn theory in school, you are expected to have some skills to Back your certificates. This skills are Not obtained in schools .If you apply for Jobs and they ASK you to be able to use AutoCAD or any softwares . do you expect lecturers to teach you to use how to use softwares, you are expected to learn your self or thru Seminars or anyhow. As a technician WHO graduated in polytechnic ,you are expected to be good practically,be skilled in using Hands .Most of Our youth Run after Money and wont Just sit down to acquire skills to Backup their certificates .That is why the certificates are useless to them .They cant do anything with IT.its Not the fault of the universities.students should Strive to Develop themselves, certificates are Just mere Papers when you dont have any skills

Emax911:
No, yes a big No, if not in this country, but inside Nigeria, yes, A BIG WASTE OF TIME. u may ask me why, because am a student in engineering in my last year, I can't construct shit, only theories, I had to learn skills with another hard earned money to add value, most countries would reject a degree from Nigeria over and over. my aunt schooled in YABATECH, Lagos, when she travelled out to italy, her degree was not accepted, had to start a fresh, just school or get your degree outside this country. gracias.

Tax depends on your Tax class in Germany .when you are single ,normally class 1 .you pay more tax.when married, you can decide to be in class 3 and your spouse in class 5 or you Share IT equal by class 4 both .so your Tax class detwrmines what is left after they pay you.i think the company is expected to pay Tax If you have been working remotely even in Nigeria .so its possible ,you might have been paying Tax for the German government since 6 month .its also possible ,you have ended the 6 month probation and they are convinced about your ability to deliver .that is why they have taken the step to Bring you down .i congratulate the OP and Wish him the best in His career.tax can be Up to 30 or 40% in Germany .some Part of its can be collected Back Düring Tax declaration

Let me educate him small.2000 Euros is for a non Professional Job lol.so depending on the City .maybe after tax,etc He gets 1300 Euros .then He pays Rent ,etc .He May be only able to save 500 Euros lol..Study the contract ,He has to Know which City He is going to? Is the City friendly lol, what Part of Germany .cost of living inthe City .so if the cost of accomdation is 500 Euros and you have got to pay 100 Euros after tax.you May end Up with little .some Job are really stressful ,so is IT a Direct Job with a company ? Or a Zeit arbeit( Agent ) .so dont Just JUMP into a Job and end Up in regrets.if you are married .2000 Euros Job is Not enough for a Family man after paying Rent and Bills .so you Had better negotiate Well with the company or WHO ever is bringing you down

2000 Euros per month ?.IT Looks small .what Kind of Job are you going to do there .That will detwrmine If the pay is Wörth IT.dont get trapped into some Slave Jobs .you need to Look at the contract ,the Nature of the Job .If they Tell you 2000 Euros before tax.by the time ,they remove Tax,you pay for accomodation ,all bills.you need to Know what is left.if you are coming for a Professional Job,2000 Euros is far small .depending on the City you are going, cost of living is high based on different City .the contract May specify that you will be on probation for 6 month ,If you dont deliver .you are Kicked Out .You have language to Deal with ,so If its a Job that does Not require german.you May cope ,learning German May Take years to be fluent lol.so If i will advice you, study your contract and dont JUMP to a miserable job.i Know a Guy WHO left Nigeria to discover He is trapped to a Job which involves working 12 hours a day under harsh conditions with No insurance and very little pay.Its a good Thing to travel abroad ,But be smart .have a nice day

quote author=daveyjay post=101166418]Good day NLers, please I need your take on this.
I'm a student in one of Nigeria's prominent public universities.

A girl decided to vie for admission in my school via the predigree programme but she had no accommodation. Because of the relationship between my parents and hers, I offered to take her in from January till now

I offered a roof over her head.

The first night she came, she slept on the floor and I wasn't okay with that, the following night, I told her she could have the bed, I vacated my bed and relegated myself to sleeping on the floor, we can't share same bed since she's neither my babe nor sister. And this sleeping routine has continued ever since then. The floor is my new bed

I gave her my spare key, uncensored access to my kitchen and everything within my legal occupancy.
Cut long story short, last week Tuesday she woke up, had her bath, ate then stepped out briefly, when she returned we were outta water. Tap water of course. She called my attention to it to which I remained calm. Meanwhile I hadn't eaten neither had I bathed. At noon, she came to me that she was hungry but couldn't cook due to unavailability of water, I then asked her if I am to fetch her water??!.

She said she was gonn take food stuff to her friend's place (upstairs) to cook.
I replied by asking how many of her friends had lacked water and brought food stuff to cook here??!

She got angry and took some money and left

That same Tuesday, I went to see Chelsea game, when I returned, I asked her if she cooked but she didn't dignify me with her attention talk more of a response.
I thought it was rude but considered it as one of the many tantrums of ladies

The following morning, she woke up, acted like I don't exist, couldn't greet... had her bathe and left. Returned, unlocked the door, walked in like I wasn't there, ate, left to her friend's place.

On Thursday she repeated the routine, I called her back when she was going out, I asked her if she considered me as her father, brother or boyfriend that she'd wake up and start throwing attitudes...
I made her understand that I am her benefactor.
Hardly did I finish before she left. She returned and continued in same path and that has continued till this very moment...

Last night she didn't sleep at home, when she returned in the morning, she unlocked the door with her spare, walked in, ate, brushed, dressed and walked out without a single word e come be like say I be ghost.

What I did, I changed the locks, took some stuff, sealed my door with strict instructions to the caretaker then moved to a friends place outside my lodge and I've been there ever since.

She has returned and has been calling my line but I've been ignoring...

Now, is my action too harsh or still in line??!

IT seems you that have interest in electronics.i think electrical electronics is one of the best courses in the world If you really have Interest.if you are interested in Business .you can combine your electronics knowledge with Business to suceed .Nothing Comes easy ,you need to keep trying and Not give Up.

quote author=webizone post=101034423]Guys, I need your advice. I am very confused right now.
I am 33, single and graduated as an electronics engineer since 2012.
From my nysc days, I decided I never wanted to be a job seeker, I would rather be in business. I did do some interviews, got reinvited but not successful in securing the jobs.
So I went to understudy a phone accessories business in Lagos, spent six months doing that and started the biz. It wasn't successful as I wasn't getting the volume of business I needed to make it work.
I left Lagos and moved to Kaduna to join in a door sales business (family biz).
I even got a shop of my own which I have managed since 2018.
It wasn't easy at all. I kept struggling to pay rent for both my shop and house. But somehow I managed.
Fast forward to now, I am under pressure to succeed ( both family pressure and myself as I am not getting younger and need to settle down).
A friend who's done quite well for himself came on a visit and told me that I should decide to leave Kaduna and come to Lagos (I was like, again?)
He's into ladies' handbags. He told me of his brother who he trained and sent him off with 500k. He told me about how successful he was, that he was married and pays the rent of both house and shop (which if I can remember was just above a million altogether).
I would have to live in with a friend of his and wife who has apprentices already.

Side note: the handbags biz would be importation which would take rather long to land in Nigeria coupled with how inflation affects our currency while you are trying to replenish your stock.
The doors business we kinda arbitrage our purchases from different suppliers and we get our stock from anywhere in the country within at most 2~3 days.

So, I am confused. Should I go after the offer in order to improve my situation or remain where I am, keep at it and hoping I would get better, possibly inheriting the legacy of the business?
In Nigeria, as a doctor you can work for up to 3 to 6 months without getting paid, my sister has also experiencedthat here, why do you think most doctors in all states here in Nigeria are always going on strike?

Alot of my sisters colleagues here in nigeria have all relocated while some are planning to also relocate abroad.

Even Professors in medical schools here in Nigeria are writing IELTS just to relocate.

That's why I said as a medical professional, it's best he relocated because Canada and some other countries like UK are looking for foreign medical practitioners. 2 of my cousins are senior medical doctors in Canada.

IT depends on your age ,your Profession and the country you intend going .IT also depends on the Type of visa.it depends also on the requirement for foreign Professional to Work in that country.Dont Rush abroad and end Up doing dirty Jobs that you will never do in naija .some countries requires you writing some exams to perform ,some requires you to verify you certificate.get all information for the country you want to go.pls dont Go to any country illegally,Life abroad is tougher than Nigeria when you enter illegally.your age also Comes to Play ,Life abroad is tougher and you have to be really Strong and fit.dont be decieved by people saying they earn Big abroad ,this Big Money end Up in paying bills.you have to Work extra to save.you also need to consider Family,do you have Kids etc .i Know some people wont agree with me ,Just my little advice.

IT depends on what field He is in.Some Jobs are Not needed in abroad and some countries dont Accept blacks Professionals. However ,UK is Open to black. As a doctor ,you May find it difficult to pratice insome countries in Europe due to racism, language bariers etc. However ,age Plays a Factor, its Not really advisable for somebody above 40 to migrate.i Must say that IT Takes time to integrate Into a new country.u Said 2 Million naira monthly, that is a small Money for a doctor abroad considering expenses .you have got to pay for Rent ,etc .this expenses Take half of the 2 Million naira you are talking abroad.Sometimes ,happiness Matters .If you are collecting little in Nigeria and find happiness .its much better than living miserably abroad with expenses to bother about

Guy all u spit are trashy because your life is cool doesn't mean Nigeria is a better place for any sane people that want to survive so their upcoming generations could have a better life should stay, life is about risk even living in naija is the biggest risk.... Yeah some people sent on holidays by the companies but do u have a second thought that its every body that has the privilege to good education talk less of good job. I would rather die as a fugitive in UK, USA or Canada than living a fugitive life in curses country called Nigeria.
Family / Re: How Do I Stop My Relatives From Disturbing Me? by ekerintee: 12:42pm On Apr 04, 2021
Just do your best ,its foolishness for you to resign to Look after your mum.if you cant Take Care of her ,get somebody WHO can Help you and pay the Person Are you the only child ,the whole Family should contribute to Help your mum.If its Money she needs ,let people contribute ,If its Attention ,you people should get someone to be with her and Take Care of her .You shud also try to Visit her once in a while .i think its because you are single ,that is why they are disturbing you. When your mums time is Up,she will go.no Matter what you Spend or do,but in the mean time ,do your best and dont give so much concern about what people say .do your best does Not mean ,Send all your salaries Home

Please house I need an advice.

Ever since I got a federal government job,

my relatives have been disturbing me for money.

There must always be an issue that involves money which they want me to solve.

Recently, my mom become sick.

They are threatening me that I would be held responsible if my mom dies,if I don't make sure she is cured.

But I have taken her to hospitals, and she is trying to recover.

I do this whenever I visit home since I am working in a state far from home.

Her health challenge is due to old age.

But today my uncle called me that I should resign, get back to the village and personally take care of my mom,

failure of which,if she dies, the whole family would hold me responsible for choosing job over my mom.

Can you imagine resigning your federal job to get to the village and start staying?

The calls, the demands, the attacks are getting too much for me.

Please should I just switch off my phone so that no one can contact me?

I just need advice?

My nairaland family, i jst want to bare my mind here.

Matured responses will be sincerely appreciated. I'll try to be brief & straight to the points.

Precisely in 2019, I helped my then boss who was transfered to Abuja to get a maid from the south south part of the country, calabar to be precise. She was 18yrs at that time. Later that year, my boss who was nursing a kidney ailment needed transplant urgently. Out of love, this girl opted to help donate one of her kidneys. Personaly I kicked against the idea when she told me, but she was strong-willed. I took the matter to her parents and they threatened to hold me responsible if anything happened to their daughter. After much persuasion from her, her parents gave in reluctantly. We carried out series of tests & she was certified fit to donate. My boss contacted a German hospital that later did the transplant. I work for a para-millitary agency as a cadet A.S.P & i call him My boss because he was heading the command i was first posted to. More details below...

What i mean is somebody that can give you ideas and good advice and Motivation to do Something. Assuming you are in a Situation that is complicated and you need somebody to advice you on what to do,a good Woman will Tell you ,why dont you Go about it this Way,she has knowledge on what to do.but some of this women, they simply Tell you to carry your Cross ,with no solutions.we need one another,Life is Not all about Money.sometimes when we are down,we need encouragement, men are Not super machines.if your man is struggling financially and you See him struggling ,common Sense tells you to Help.most men die in silence because they are carrying so many load and refuse to cry Out for help.nigerian women shud learn to be resposible,i stay abroad and See the Way the White Woman Support their husband .

Nigerian girls Like to Copy foreign culture but when IT Comes to Money and spending .they dont compare ,Imagine a Girl telling a Guy that He cannot carry her Shoes. They are looking for men WHO can maintain them.life is give and Take ,you need to Help one another .They are Always looking for rich men and already Made men .majority of them dont have anything to offer ,even some of them are intellectually dünn,they can Not inspire you or give you good advice that can Help you Forward

Mikelarteta:
The way this whole boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife thing is in Nigeria is completely different from how it is in develop world. A Nigerian girl or woman believes she is entitled to your pocket simply because she is your GF or wife, that is absolutely in correct. I go to eatery to hotels and other places with my GF and she picks up the bills sometimes without waiting for me as if na my responsibility. Seriously Nigerian girls need to change their mentality. I know there are still some girls that takes care of bills without waiting for their partners. You will be more respected by doing so. Don’t let us see you as Ebinas pls.

The Generation of Nigerian women are a Strange Set .Majority of them are complete liability .some of them are good anyway, they have nothing to offer .from such women, men Must Run away.

quote author=Dozis post=100224370]What do Nigerian women actually want?
You want equality but you don't want the shared responsibility that comes with it, just because a man is dating you, automatically he becomes your ATM. It's crazy!!!
Reno is right, if you want money get yourself a job not a boyfriend.
You mean If your husband is struggling with a load ,you will Not Help him.it is a great crime that can destroy any Home .its a betrayal , a Breach of Trust ,deception. The Nigerian Woman believe a man Must carry all the load because He is a man .This is pure wickedness,If you See your man is struggling .You need Help .women are shouting equality ,but when IT Comes to responsiblity ,they are shouting you are the man .70% of Nigerian women are complete liability to men ,thou some good ones are Out there .Must the man die before you help.i have never in my Life depended on a Woman for Help,Our women should learn to be resposible also .The White Woman whom they are Copy Share Bills together with their men ,they do all Things men do.but Our black women still Stick to old mentality that men Must carry all load even when the Woman is working.that is why Most men are afraid of marriage ,because of the new Generation of women we have .i May be harsh but this is the truth with black women.i have observed a differnce in White women

sweetrace:
Op, you are responsible for your family’s upkeep irrespective of your wife’s earnings. She lied to you about her income because you obviously can’t handle it. We have a number of Nigerian men who will do nothing if they know their wives earn a great deal. These days we have men who are gold diggers. I’m not calling you one. I’m telling you why women now hide their earnings. She did not tell you because she wanted to be treated like a woman: loved and pampered by her husband irrespective of his earnings. She lived the lifestyle you could provide and you’re complaining!
