Music/Radio › Re: Rihanna's Disturbia Is Disturbing by eldee(m): 5:59pm On Sep 16, 2008
IMO, she's just successfully established herself as a versatile top-level artiste with that song and video.
After hitting the top of the charts with R&B ballads like Unfaithful and unexpectedly stole hearts with Umbrella, the next thing everyone expected was for her to deviate a little, Disturbia was the result.

It was artistic freedom used perfectly . . . to me, this is the closest to Madge we've seen in decades
She's totally at the top of her game
It's what seperates her from the likes of Kelly Rowland and them lot
Are you guys not even tired of all the catwalking and same ol' booty shaking?? ?? ??

Erm . . . I learnt that even though sum opinions sound totally stupid, we can't push 'em aside as wrong
I even found out that even if you have a very brilliant point, it'll be ignored if not well packaged
I kind of learnt how the average nigerian thinks . . . especially the average nigerian woman

Sisikill:
If you are single, enjoy it and when you get married, you enjoy that too. Simple.

What's the point of lamenting about where you are?
Why does this remind me bout 'em 'Big is Beautiful' crap we hear on Oprah and Tyra??

smile4kenn:
Being single in Africa is no different from being single in any other part of the world.
BEEP!!! Wrong
The African soceity is family-oriented
Women that choose to be single are seen as weird, hence the pressure from the family
The joy of the average african is only topped when he/she sees all his/her children 'settled'
And do I have to tell you the african definition of 'settled'??

Anyways, I suppose the script-writer was trying to examine racial discrimination against the black man in that particular place and time
It woulda prolly being one of those places were black men get shot just for being black

To me, he was a hero by taking the driving-under-influence test when he was damn sure he wasn't drunk
Courage is not always about standing up to fight, sometimes it's about backing down and braving it through
That's what his wife didn't learn and she paid for it easily

I live in London, male security officers are not even allowed to search women here, but if I lived in SA's apartheid, I'll not be there giving the racist whites a reason to shoot me.
I'll rather write in newspapers and hope I can inspire a Mandela
