4Humanity4All:I never said it was mine. I only called his attention to a possible mistake, and he has already replied to clarify. So, please, take your own advice and ignore other people's conversation. Thank you. ![]() |
Scamupdates:You said nothing less than 80k daily. And then you said sometimes, none. These are already contradictory. |
Now, I can bring my friends to Nigeria ![]() |
Racoon:There is no compelling reason why students who are not Ukrainians and not EU citizens should be offered admissions, jobs, etc. in other EU countries. These countries are helping Ukrainian students either based on the relationship they have with the country or based on the fact that Ukrainians have nowhere else to go. They're not just helping anyone that left the country cause they believe non Ukrainians are not stranded since they have a country to go back to. In a case like this, simple logic demands that those whose country has been destroyed should get the highest priority. Canada gave asylum to thousands of Ukrainians (not just people fleeing Ukraine) cause they're believed to be stranded. Should they have also given asylum to Nigerians? How would you justify that? There was a limit to the number of slots the US could take; should they have given some of those slots to people who clearly have a country to return to? It may sound harsh, but if you keep sentiments aside, you'd understand the West is doing exactly what they have to do. |
Revolution2022:Ordinarily, yes. But dude has what every businessman wants, money. So.... |
Your title asks the reason, and the body asks the origin. These are two different things. Do you want to know how it originated or the reason people have been using it? |
The name, Ohuabunwa, is rather peculiar. |
Lol... you just reminded them. |
Religion is highly opinionated. |
Rosrozz:Me too. I can't dance to save my life. Lol Maybe that's why I appreciate people who can dance. |
Rosrozz:No, I'm not. But I appreciate dancing cause I have a friend who is a dancer, and I know someone who takes kinetic dance for physical health. Also, in my free time, I go to a park nearby where some community volunteers come to take people on different types of dance moves for both mental health and blood circulation (though this one isn't in Nigeria, lol). |
Akhee:What kind of job? You're probably saying this cause what you see as "job" is sitting down in an office signing peppers. They are people who are professional dancers, choreographers, members of dance groups, and kinetic dance instructors for fitness and weight loss, and restoration after child birth or accident. We watch good music videos and appreciate the moves, we see them in Lagos sweating out different aerobic moves with people who want to be more fit or in orthopedic hospitals assisting patients with specific moves that target specific parts of the boy, yet people don't appreciate it as a job because there's no dignity in labour in Nigeria. Most people want to wear suit, lab coat, engineering outfit, lawyers' wig or, at least, be writing codes. Cc: Rosrozz |
Omodua:When you don't believe someone, say "I don't believe you". Considering the slightest possibility that they could be right, don't call them a liar. You don't know this person, you don't know when they graduated from the school, and you certainly don't know about the school more that everyone on Nairaland even if you graduated from the said institution. So while there's a possibility they could be lying, proper communication skills dictate that you don’t call them a liar cause of the 0.000001% chance that they are either telling the truth or was misled to believe they are. |
Lol... we both saw this on TikTok I guess cause I made it last week too. ![]() |
Farid24224:Lol... how did you offend your grandma? |
Rosrozz:He said elective. So if you can't dance, you leave the course for those that can. Imagine being in theater arts and be complaining that you can't dance. Lol |
SAMBARRY:They can say whatever they want to say. Regardless of how she acts, a single lady will always get such denigrating comments. They'll always be called hoes by people who don't know a thing about them. When a female artist performs with a male artist, the Nigerian man would conclude they're sleeping together. It's just a Nigerian thing. If I were a lady, I wouldn't let how I'd be perceived dictate my lifestyle in any way. Just imagine the title "despite sex tape...". What has the tape gotten to do with anything? The only reason a reference is made to it here is malice. 99% of people here have sex but when it comes to others, they mount thier high horses to call them names. Hypocrisy. |
emmaodet:People prefer flying not really because of the urgency of whatever they're going to do, but rather due to the ever increasing risk of traveling by road in Nigeria. Prior to now, that 70k would be sufficient for a return ticket. It's much for a one-way flight that's less than 1 hour. |
nakaman:1) This design does not appeal to me 2) I personally do not like this idea 3) I wouldn't go with this if I were to decide 4) I wouldn't buy this product 5) Etc. These are better ways of expressing your distaste. Art is very subjective. You don't just call people's handiwork foolish because you don't like them. Just saying. |
This is hard to believe. This airport used to be one of the busiest local airports in WA. What happened?! |
How did you miss out the most important piece of information, the location? |
rusher14: OnionBandit:Where exactly did he say education is not for the poor. I didn't see it in the write-up. Do you have a link, please? |
Oh... I've not been following up on this case. I recall there were three major hurdles the senator had to pass: the age, the consent and the legality of the action. I also recall the court has judged the guy not to be a minor. Has it now been proven that the guy knew what he was going to do and gave his consent? Talking about legality, even with consent, it is still illegal in the UK. However, it can be argued that the agreement took place in Nigeria and, therefore, taking the jurisdiction away from the UK government. Like I've always maintained, there's still a possibility that the senator will come out clean. If he's guilty, let him face the consequences, but if he isn't, may he be released. Our dislike for our politicians doesn't mean we should wish anyone such. The same goes for the guy in question. If he's lying about the consent thing, mat he be caught. Otherwise, may he be vindicated. |
What were you expecting him to say? |
Same old story despite all the borrowings. |
Politics has a way of messing you up |
Good |
I don't have any issues with Nigeria helping other countries. What I have issues with is Nigeria helping the politicians of other countries. When the West wants to help others, it's in form of aids, investments or other things that will benefit the masses. You don't hear things like "The UK government bought cars for top politicians in Liberia" cause there's no way to begin to justify using national funds to buy cars for individuals in another country. Supplying arms to them is even better. I just don't see how the people of Niger would benefit from this gesture. How do these people normalize abnormal things like this? The only explanation here is that the the ruling party needs to government of Niger to do something for them in this coming election. Time will tell. |
urchcoded:Just going through NL and I saw this post under "recent". I don't really know what the thread is about, but I just want to tell you to hang in there. You'll get a good job in no distant time. Sorry this one didn't work out, but don't give up. Such minor hiccups only serve to heighten the excitement of success. You will be happy. |
What he's saying asides, he looked so vibrant back then. He really aged so fast. Wow. |
CandyOps:She just gave birth. Or you think she suddenly started eating junks? She still looks beautiful and she'll definitely get back to shape. |
18k? I buy that for about c$30 (around 10k). Not a lot of meat inside but better than what I'm seeing here and cheaper too. |
