Don't worry, south eastern troops are coming to liberate you. South Sudan is the least developed part of Sudan and its North is where all the money is, from what I see, so it's not too much of the same thing. |
I think Ogun is in the south East. |
What happened to the Nigerian military? Maybe they need the help of mommy Britain once again. |
Again with discussing nameless drifters? I find it funny that all the top leaders of Nigeria during the war (Gowon, etc.) are now singing Col. Ojukwu's praises and probably developed some understanding with him while alive (OBJ), yet they never mention any of these nameless people. Maybe all of us need to learn the same. This is a thread about a respected person that made a (good) name for themselves, right? |
chino11:Don't you mean unity centrer for Anambra people? Since when have you started caring for "Igbo unity"? |
But even if Igbo people were descended from Malian slave, they'd still be ethnically Igbo. |
Not everyone knows what is hardship and not everyone grew up like you with desperate wants and physical deperivations. Bianca's grand father Sir Onoh was one of the richest Igbo men and built one of the best houses in the East and the first storey building. Her own father Chief C C Onoh was stinkingly rich too and was one time the Governor of the old Anambra state. Bianca never knew whats poverty and couldnt have married Ojukwu for money. This confirms that most of you here spew rubbish and say what you dont knw. What is more befittin than the greatest Igbo man marrying arguably the prettiest Igbo woman. Sounds nice
Why did you waste your time on a possible closet rapist? It's like replying namafav with an essay. |
See what finished Nigeria's airforce: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d0/Bolkow.junior.d-edna.arp.jpg/800px-Bolkow.junior.d-edna.arp.jpg |
Yeah, that's why it's called Nigerian hip-hop because it's recognised as part of the US hip hop culture. If we're going to talk about origins of things, then hip hop dancing is mostly African anyway. And just because the US has people that are legends for them, doesn't mean Africans don't have people they and other consider legends. The only reason why this thread would be a joke is that nothing here shown is not of anything else but African descent. |
You said "accepted as an Igbo", what does that mean? |
dayokanu:Wow, they must have been awesome individuals in 1850. Too bad most Nigerian youth will never know them. |
I wouldn't know the difference. |
dayokanu:Aww, he can't read his own posts, but he can read mine. dayokanu:Sneaky, you said defending the war and its casualties. |
Adekunle Fajuyi; My Hero, I have a lot to thank you for
Better start thanking him by visiting him, because, apparently, he has been abandoned by everyone. |
No, the music is, but not the dancing, unless you're talking about P Square. And. . . ezeagu: |
BlackLibya:Okay. BlackLibya:What? |
I know. Thank God I hardly talk about the war. |
Even buildings are committing suicide. |
Probably hang in circles that sniff women's nickers or something. Imagine the amount of hours spent on people that supposedly killed your family member (that you never knew). |
dayokanu:Someone who can open up Nigeria's illegal drugs trade. Floored or disgusted? Probably was thanking god he wasn't born an African. |
I wonder where it's amusing to disrespect women you don't know. The internet really brings out the low-lives. |
dayokanu:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection dayokanu:No one is moaning about Biafra in this page but yo . . . in fact: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inferiority_complex |
PointB:The Nigerian government HAS to bury him or they'll just be giving his funeral away to MASSOB, which is NOT what they want. |
renewnaija:I don't even have to go further than Calabar's histroy to see how the Efik have shifted the natives from the area. renewnaija:Uhm, just in case you didn't know, any annexing would have been the decision of Col. Ojukwu backed by his Efik second in command Philip Effiong. Cross River was part of Biafra till the end from what I know as history. How is any of this related to "ethnic cleansing" in Cross River by the Igbo? What's the highest position a Cross River person holds in Nigeria today? Oh, let me guess, "I'd rather be completely marginalised by random strangers hundreds of miles away than be possibly ethnically cleansed by the Igbo, who have been living side-by-side by me for millennia and have never ethnically cleansed my people". See what happens when you listen to randomants? (I really hate when people act like their communities didn't once support Biafra, like it was just an Igbo thing.) |
I'm talking about people from other parts of the country telling them they will be dominated/the Igbo are being dominated. |
Yeah, but men-marrying-men isn't part of "Nigerian" culture (well, the ones I've seen), people can do what they like, but if it's being recognised by the government then the populations culture should have meaning. |
Obviously, it's someone from the Cross River themselves that is saying the Igbo are the "hunter". So it's either "Igbo people cannot dominate Cross River people", or "Igbo people will dominate Cross River people", or "Igbo people can, but do not dominate Cross River people", you guys have to pick one. |
Yes, this is how a lot of Europeans feel, only that they usually suppress it but the pressure in the world is squeezing their feelings out. Some want to deny it because they feel they are "Black British". |
Im not sure what this vid is supposed to prove? None of that had anything to do with american dancing. Furthermore its a recent vid, and most recent african acts are inspired by african american style dance
Uh, no. I'm pretty sure they don't have Ishan masquerades in Atlanta, unless I missed something. These are just videos that can be found on youtube, there are other indigenous people who flip, spin and hand stand while dancing. I'm sure American dancing has nothing to do with Africa. . . . |
renewnaija:What voice do you have? You have no voice obviously that's why you're here complaining about possibly being "ethnically cleaned" by a heavily fragmented group who not only have no history of "ethnically cleansing" your people after thousands of years of cohabiting, but have actually picked up Cross River culture in British-French-like portions. If you're confident about your language and culture then you wouldn't be here lamenting over "ethnic cleansing" that has never happened. You lived next to a dangerous Igbo confederacy for at least 200 years and even they were partly Ibibio, now you want to stir up some dust because of what some people 200 miles away are telling you. People who have no history with you and would shrug their shoulder if the Igbo were to have a conflict with you. People who don't really give a shit about what the difference between an Ibibio and Efik is except if it is to weaken you? renewnaija:And how is that better than being second in command of the country, or being at least 2/5 of the country? You have reps in the country, yet how much development compared to your potential have you got. Meanwhile in Biafra they're refining oil. . . You'd rather stay in a failed state and be dominated by three groups than be in a country where you would have a bigger share. renewnaija:Well that's great for you. Greatly flawed? No, because I bet I can trick even you into calling an Igbo community a Cross River one, and versa. In fact there's Igbo over the Cross River. renewnaija:That's my question to you. And don't start acting like you didn't place the Igbo in a domineering position when you started out on this thread; you're the one telling us about the people with "similar language and culture" dominating the "minorities", so you're the one who thinks its easy for Igbo people to "phase out" your culture. It's like me talking about British people possibly "ethnically cleansing" Igbo people and their ability to dominate Igbo people, then turn around and get offended when the British person claims Britain can dominate Igbo people. Makes no sense. renewnaija:And if they "dare" try it in Nigeria what will happen? I guess you'll come back with something that paints Igbo people as Imperial Japan or the British Empire? The rest of Nigeria doesn't even really give one when it comes to whose Igbo and who isn't in the east because they see the east as all Igbo. The attitude only changes when something can be gotten from a section of the east, ala, "south south", or when they can weaken it by dividing it, ala, you. |
