Let me start first by saying that where I come from we don't marry a fellow villager, though one can marry someone from within the same town (community) but from a different village.
Then secondly, my advice to you is to ignore your ex completely. The both of you are married now and there's no point or reason in stalking each other. Ignore him entirely, unless you're still obsessed with him to such extent that you have all that time to notice when he is viewing your status and when he's not. In a way, you're equally stalking your ex as well.

It is confusing at times. We didn't break up but got separated cos he traveled abroad and we lost contact.

When he came back I was married but we couldn't see each other, he travelled back and marries a South African lady.
