Niphemmy01: Good evening Nairalanders. .I'm working in Oman as a domestic staff.and I intend to apply from here to the UK. .Oman is a visa free country to the UK though.. so presently I'm having 1.7m in my account because I opened bank account in this country. And my boss has promised to give me No objection letter for my travelling. I intend to spend two weeks though. Please what are my chances? My salary is about 94k in Nigeria money. That's a big lie. Oman is not visa free. The Omanis apply for Visa too to enter the UK.If you have supporting documents, youcan apply. Nobody can guarantee you visa but suggestions. Your salary is low especially with the value Omani riyal to the Pounds and not Nigerian Naira. Your profession and salary in Oman might be obstacles but you never can tell. Give it a try and good luck! |

iyatrustee: When you get to the Airport, Ask for the Vat/Travelex returns section, You will fill in your Personal details and Credit card details and submit the slip you were given from the shop.
Takes between 3 to 5 days to reflect in your account. To add to this, you should be there earlier enough that your flight departure time because the queue is always long and you can equally get refund for your oyster card and the balance on it if meet the requirements of number of days. |

GENIUS18: Good morning all. Please I need an advice on my plan to obtain UK Visa for my family (wife + 3kids). After reviewing the various cost, I think the 10-year visa is quite reasonable (do it once and hold for a long period, even though it is expensive). I currently work as an engineer (oil and gas). I however have the fear of refusal, as a colleague mentioned that the Visa officer might think we are tactically running away. He suggested doing for 1 or 2 years. Please advise if I should proceed with the 10-year application or just yield to the colleague warning? Have been to the UK before? Have you traveled to other ally country e.g The US, Canada before? If No, your friend might be right. Start with 6 months. This is my opinion not that of ECO; the ECO might think otherwise based on your documents and ties. Good luck! |

I don't think the hospital can interfere with visa issue other than provide the papers to show he was born there and your bills. But Contact them and hope for the best. |

Lisaosato: Whether it can be done here or not is irrelevant. If you can afford it have the surgery in the US... You owe it to your child to not compromise on quality, we all know how our hospitals in Nigeria are, even the so called big ones are no better. In her words, the surgery is not major. The baby can't travel alone even if she can afford it and of course she can from the message. But do we jeopardize the health of the little one. Since it's minor, there are private hospitals that can do it. My worry is the health of the baby; we shouldn't allow it to degenerate. The mum can always get her visa in future. Alternatively she can travel to another advanced country but with her visa revoked, she may need to provide the info when filling out her application. |

What is wrong in doing it Nigeria? Please don't endanger the future the boy. It's better done and correct the issue now. Don't let the boy swear for you in future. I hope it will not have effect on my application?
= Since i work with a company and the company have deducted tax before i get paid, i guess it not needed i add any form of tax to my document, though i do not have any visible. i'm sure they have tax card in Lagos but we dont in Ibadan...any help pls This is becoming a consciously unconscious generic answer. It's very simple. We are meant to read all questions in application diligently. If it's a country thats an ally, it might affect your application. But you never can tell. However, it's good to be sincere in all your applications. |

O.P. I think you should also enlighten people on how people get H.Pylori. pardon me if you have done that before. Most people eat out and the hygiene of people preparing the food, the people themselves. I went to a canteen one day and it has one toilet in a short distance from the canteen. I was waiting, nobody came. Then I saw the guy I met going to toilet when I was going in. He said what did i want and I was sure there's no soap and water in the toilet and he didn't watch his hands. I told him he wouldn't sell food for me. because I saw him, what If I didn't see him. This is how majority of us are getting this bacteria. |

we want to apply as family now pls wat are the chances of getting the visa or is it better as a couple or family. we have 3 kids, good statement, landed properties, tax clerence as well
please kindly advice the best way to apply for uk visa with high chances of getting the visa. thank you in advance I don't think anyone can predict your chances of getting visa. Be sincere in your application and add all necessary documents to show you have ties to Nigeria and you will come back. Applying as a family doesn't stop them giving you visa if you have strong ties back home; but why can't you apply alongside with your kids and let your husband be your family tie back home. Just my view. Good luck! |

I can relate with the OP; once you have suffered the pains of gastritis, you obviously become a researcher. My cousin has tired f going to hospital. His is like 2 years now. he has done endoscopy, (after treating HYPylori severally, even tested negative at a point early this year,) which shows Antral gastritis. Even a Biospy was taken and we were afraid of cancer but no cancer buy shows scanty H.Pylori with diagnosis as H.Pylori chronic moderately active gastritis. It is been difficult with no one day of full relief. He just completed another tripple therapy, still complaining. May God heal us all. |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Canada by folmus: 6:35am On Sep 25, 2018 |
hajidel: Good day house; As promised I would like to share my wife's journey after the successful birth of our child and through the help and tips from this forum we acknowledge and show our gratitude. So hence we would like to share our own story so others may benefit from it.
Wife travelled at around 28 weeks and arrived in Montreal without any issues at the airport as we had always declared our intent of giving birth in Canada. I'm not sure if me residing in the USA did any trick but at the POE we were only asked a handful of questions and was let in without any issues. Now that is the easy part. The real issue came when we needed to get a doctor and hospital to register with. Through the help of others on the forum here albeit most go to Toronto not much experience in Montreal so, we tried walk ins, urgent care, family GP etc but none of them was successful. We then tried to contact the hospitals direct and some would not accept patients without the insurance card which only residents of Canada can have. Some of the other hospitals were requiring us to pay a deposit of between CAD$15,000-25,000 which for me was not worth it. I then proceeded to give my wife hotstepper's contact so she can get another option. Hotstepper was very helpful in offering her services but unfortunately she turned it down as she would not have any relatives in Toronto that would offer emotional help.
Contemplated sending her back home to africa as 1. it did not make financial sense the offers the hospital were giving in terms of the deposit less the delivery (dependent of C or natural), 2. baby and mother per day 3. Epidural 4. Doctors fees and some other fees that I have even forgotten about.
After a couple of weeks wife made some contacts and ended up choosing a birth center in Ottawa which was only $1500 cheaper than a hospital and only an hour and a half but does not offer epidural and if any complications arose then they would end up in the hospital. She did a tour of the birthing center and found it fantastic. I decided to go to Canada from the USA myself to check out the center.Pre natal and the birth center visits were conducted every other week to check the progress of both mother and baby and it was all smooth sailing and I travelled back to the USA.
Arrived back in Ottawa 2 days to due date and unfortunately Wife went under 2 weeks overdue. On the day contraction started 2AM and made a call to the midwife and we were asked to come to the center at 4AM and off we went. Stayed at the center (i went to sleep at that time till 10AM LOL) and major contractions started at around that time and the actual labor process started. She came in at 3cm and later opened up to 8cm within a couple of hours. She was being attended to by 3 midwives and an elderly relative of hers who was extremely experienced in birthing and she was actually allowed by the midwives to chip in with her experience as they saw her doing some stuff that gave them confidence in her.
After a long contraction period of sever pains and only about 1.5 hours of pushing, the baby came. A boy at 3.5kg healthy with no complications from either the mom or the baby. No washing or cleaning of the baby whatsoever, just wrapped in blanket. We had a choice of going home after all the checks on mother and baby was done or could stay at the center for 24 or 48 hours at no extra charge. Food and drinks are available a-la-carte and at any time of the day or night. We decided to stay there overnight and left in the afternoon the next day. Once we got home, they bathed and cleaned him.
So tatal cost of the birthing
$CAD5,000
includes the prenatal and after delivery checkups. They also did a home visit 2 days later to check on the baby poo and pee, as well as his weight soft spot in his head. Three subsequent home visits were conducted to check on the progress of the baby. Food, transportation are also a big part of this process so that should not be discounted. So my wife would spend about $CAD100-150 per week on food and transportation.
Now to the paperwork.
In Quebec unlike Toronto were you have a turnaround time of about a week to do the birth declaration/registration (i'm not sure which one), you will have to do Birth Declaration with the state of Quebec. After the delivery, the center/hospital will give a form to confirm that the birth took place there and you will be given a copy of that form which you will take to the state of Quebec to do the declaration, where you will fill the child's full name, the parents names etc. But the catch is, it takes 15 working days for this declaration to be entered into the states system before you even apply for the birth certificate. We did the declaration the next working day and the waiting began. I would think that the declaration may not take the whole 15 days and after 10 or so I went in to inquire and negative and went in 2 times after that nothing. Eventually just the 15th day it was registered late in the afternoon and the next morning first thing we went to do the same day service for the birth certificate as oppose to having it mailed out which will further delay it. We took the birth certificate and went into the embassy to apply for the travel certificate which was done the same day and we went to the passport office to apply for the passport and also chose the same day service as we had an itinerary that showed we will be traveling soon. We dropped off the passport application in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon and it was a 5 year valid passport.
From the birth to the declaration to the birth certificate and passport application took exactly 3 weeks and they left 2 days later and i went back to the USA to fly out from there.
All in all it was a mixed experience with emotional and physical distress.
My advice to anyone seeking this journey,
DO NOT UNDERTAKE THIS JOURNEY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY OR MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT WHETHER IT BE FAMILY OR FRIEND. BECAUSE YOU CAN PAY THE HOSPITAL OR CENTER ITS ONLY MONEY BUT YOU CANNOT BUY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
Secondly, you cannot buy the privilege of being a Canadian or any country in the west that offers Jus Soli citizenship as it is a key to traveling the world easily without much hassle and the medical and educational advantages that comes with it. No disrespect to my african roots as I am proud to be african.
Mental and emotional wellbeing or the benefits of being a citizen. If you have family who will offer you that and financially capable, then bingo go for it, but if no mental and emotional support, even if you have the financial means you might regret. So it comes down to what is more important to each individual. |

BCCH: Hi All,
I have followed and gained a lot from this thread also. We had our baby in 2016 and of course paid all our bills. Trying to renew via drop box now, we got the feedback to schedule interview. My concern mainly is what does this Itemized bill look like? If any body knows could you share a sample pls. Below are what we have
Letter from Hospital stating balance in zero Also Zero Balance letter for different accounts - Like 5 of this Also some itemized services and there cost - Like 5 of this as well(Is this the so called itemized bill?)
The consular specifically requested for us to bring: Itemized hospital bills & receipt for payment. - What's the difference between these two?
Thanks for your anticipated feedbacks.
Rgds Go with everything you have, imo. |

mamast: There are actually 2 different types of birth certificate.
At my Visa interview, the VO specifically warned me not to put a US address on the birth certificate. Having this in mind, i put my Nigerian address on the request for the birth certificate and the US address for postal address.
However, because the birth certificate didn't come in early by post, i went down to the county office to request for another one. The lady that attended to me asked if i wanted the detailed one or the other one (cant remember how she referred to it). I asked for the detailed one and i got the one that shows addresses, basically all my detail and it had my Nigeria address. When the one i requested by post came later, it was the other type that shows just the names of the baby and parents. There was no address on it. So i have 2 birth certificates in 2 different format
The way the VO admonished the need to use my Nigeria address, i jejely just adhered. |

Lisaosato: Hello house,
Interesting read so far. Please I have a few questions 1, I read some people where denied visa because the medical bills where too low, how low is too ? I intend to deliver with Dr Xydas and at HNMC in Houston and total medical bill for my proposed CS delivery is roughly $7100 is that too low?
2, A friend suggested I get a letter from a more expensive hospital, secure the visa, then use my less expensive option... is that safe? I don't want anything that will jeopardize my chances of renewal in future, I try as much as possible not to lie on my US visa applications.
3, Does anyone have a sample of a detailed letter from the Nigerian doctor stating the fact that the "condition" cannot be treated in Nigeria? I've tried to explain to my antenatal doctor but he seems to think I'm speaking about "fitness to fly"
Thanks to everyone. Congrats to the mamas who have delivered and success to the ones going for interview and flying and waiting to deliver.
Please anyone with useful info please reply, my interview is in 2 weeks. I am not a member of the missionaries, lol, but from what I read on the front page, you don't need to tell any lie. it's legal to give birth in the US. abeg what is the condition that's not treatable in Nigeria you are referring to cos you said you are going for birth The mamas can help you with your worries sha. |

At the moment, we suggest that you contact your supplier that ship the goods to us and ask them for the weight of the item. If possible, ask them to send the shipping receipt to you. There is always a weight on the shipping receipt. Your case will be reviewed tomorrow but you can start now to make ahead by contacting your supplier.

You can simply chat with any of the online customer services and drop your complaint. Besides, emails are replied within 1hour to 24hours. You can also use that we to drop your complaint. Chrisvicmall: Thanks, everyone for your inputs. We will keep working to make things better.
To our friends who mentioned that we calculate inaccurately weights, please understand that we calculate to the nearest 0.5kg. For example, if your item is 0.2kg, it will be considered as 0.5kg. If your item is 0.6kg, it will be considered as 1kg. 2.3kg is considered as 2.5kg and 2.6kg is consider as 3kg.
However, if you expect your item to be 2kg and you were charge 5kg, then you have the right to accuse us. However, before accusing us, make sure that you have cross-checked the weight during pickup. We have weight measuring equipment at our offices for you to cross-check things. If there is a difference in weight, report at the point of pickup. If you live in a different city/state, request our office to send the picture of weight to you when you receive pickup notification.
For our friends that complain that our prices are high compared to others, please understand that there is no way we can improve service without prices being affected. You want to get an instant response, you want your order to be processed as soon as possible, you want everything to be near perfect and yet you want us to also offer the lowest price. Friends think twice about it, it is against the law of nature. You cannot give a woman 50naira and expect her to cook the king's soup. It doesn't work that way. This job is not a one-man army. For us to achieve things, all hands need to join together. Those hands have a family, they have loved ones, they have daily needs and they need money to keep body and soul together. They are not robots.
How would you judge us if you start hearing that we owe people that work with us? How would you feel if you log into our website and cannot access it because we no longer have the fund to maintain it? How would you rate us if you pay us to process your order and it is taking forever because of lack of funds?
When you compare us with other people, please factor both their shipping and clearance fee, their updates, their response time, etc. If it worth it, go for it.
Our goal is to make online shopping (including shipping and charges) as transparent as possible. We are humans that make mistakes but we will keep working harder to minimize the mistakes. If you have to judge us, please tamper justice with mercy. Thank you. Why don't you add all the items together before the nearest 0.5kg? |
