The Holy Book says; train up a child in the way he should go and when he's grown, he will not depart from it.

The way children are being raised now-a-days by digital mommas or new generation mothers is quite so morally disturbing, to say the least.

The photo below captured two little siblings of opposite sex who are made to pose for a shot in a questionable way.

Methinks the innocent children are given a wrong exposure to each other by being made to explicitly kiss each other in a deep and intimate way.

What's your view regarding this photo below?

SportsMike Tyson Says Death Is Near As He Speaks On Wife, Money by FullBlastLight(op): 6:53pm On Jul 22, 2022
Mike Tyson Says Death Is Near As He Speaks On Wife, Money.

American boxing legend Mike Tyson has said he perceived death is near for him as he revealed personal issues about his wife and money despite being a multi-millionaire.

Speaking on his podcast, ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,’ on Thursday, the 56-year-old former heavyweight champion said he felt his time is almost up.

According to Daily Mail, Tyson disclosed that money could not really bring security in what it described as a ‘morbid conversation’ with his therapist, Sean McFarland.

“We are all gonna die one day, of course,” Tyson said.

“Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, Wow! That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.”

Tyson said he often has conversations with his third wife, Lakiha Spicer because she believes money will offer her with long-term security when he dies.

“I always tell people — they think money’s gonna make them happy, they’ve never had money before — when you have a lot of money, you can’t expect nobody to love you,” he added.

“You believe that you’re invincible when you have a lot of money, which isn’t true.

“What (exactly) is security?” He asked.

“I don’t know. When you put money in your bank and you get a cheque every week and you can live for the rest of your life, is that security?

“It doesn’t mean you won’t catch a disease, or get hit by a car. Can money secure you when you jump off a bridge?”

In his famous career, Tyson has set a sensational professional record of 50-6-2 with 44 knockouts. He is considered one of the greatest ever to be in boxing rings. Tyson made his boxing debut in 1985. He still holds the world record of becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion.

The same Peter Obi that was caught with N250million stolen from Anambra state treasury.

Two Ladies competing over Aguba reconcile in an interview, choose between OPM’s cash offer and the Actor

Two ladies, Annastasia Micheal Olamma and Ella Ada, who have been at loggerheads and trying to outdo the other in a bid to win the love of Actor, Kenneth Aguba have settled their differences.

The Spinsters had been fighting over who would marry the movie star after Popular clergyman and philanthropist, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere had promised to marry him a wife.

To resolve the fight, the man of God rescinded the offer he made to Aguba and directed it to the two ladies.

According to the pastor, he would sponsor their wedding, as well as their honeymoon if and when they decide to settle down with any other men since Kenneth Aguba appears not to fancy them.

In an interview with Media personality, Uncle Jay, the ladies opened up on their pursuit for the actor and OPM’s huge cash offer.

When asked to pick between their earlier marriage plans with Aguba and OPM’s marriage package, Ella Ada asserted that since Aguba is not reciprocating her love for him, she is left with no choice than to accept Apostle Chibuzor’s offer.

While Annastasia Micheal insisted on not giving up on her pursuit for Aguba. The ladies also claimed they are virgins.

As regards Apostle Chibuzor’s promise to support their weddings with interested suitors, the ladies narrated their encounter with several men who contacted them after the announcement went viral.

CrimeFour Men Gang-rape Lagos School Girl For Five Days by FullBlastLight(op): 4:25pm On Jul 21, 2022
Four Men Gang-rape Lagos School Girl For Five Days

A 15-year-old teenager, who was allegedly abducted, drugged and raped by four men in the Igando area of Lagos State, has been found.

She was found last Friday, five days after she went missing and a search party was raised by her family.

The victim’s father, Tony, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said his daughter had just finished sitting her West African Senior Secondary School Examination and was on her way to church when she was abducted.

He said the victim was going to the Saint John Catholic Church, Igando, when four men in a Toyota Camry, who pretended to give her a lift, drove her away.

Tony said the teenager was in the company of her siblings when the incident happened.

He said, “My other children said on their way to church, they greeted the people who were in the car and they asked where they were going and they said church. So, they said they should get in the car that they were also heading in the same direction.

“But after their eldest sister entered the car, they sped off and her other siblings started shouting, ‘Sister, where are you going to?’ Immediately, they wound up the glass and even when she was shouting for help, nobody could hear her.

“After searching for her throughout Monday and Tuesday, I reported a case of a missing person at the Ikotun Police Station and the search for her continued. We posted her picture on different WhatsApp groups until a church member saw the post on Friday and sent us the number plate of the car that was used to abduct my daughter.

“The church member said he saw when my daughter entered the car and he immediately wrote down the number plate of the car, but he didn’t know that she was abducted, adding that he saw the street where the car entered.

“We went to the street, Aiye Omere, Igando. When we got there, we saw the car and my daughter, where she was kept, drugged and was being raped by the four men from Monday till Friday between 4pm and 5pm when we got there.

“My daughter was not herself; the only thing she was able to tell her mother was that they kept drugging and raping her and whenever they were going out, they would drug her and then she would fall asleep until they returned.”

The victim’s father said one of the suspects was identified as Ifeanyi the Great, adding that the police arrested some of the culprits.

He noted that a classmate of the victim who lived on the street where she was violated was also arrested.

“After we found my daughter, we took her to the Igando General Hospital so she could be examined, but she was rejected. They said we should come back on Monday, but a family member told us to go to Mirabel Centre at Ikeja and not wait till Monday.

“I want justice for my daughter. I want all those involved in the abduction, drugging and raping of my daughter to be punished for the violence they committed against her,” he added.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

He said, “A case of abduction of a 15-year-old girl who was drugged and raped was transferred from the Ikotun Police Station to the gender unit at the state police headquarters. The outcome of police investigation will determine the next line of action.”

Abduction and rape of teenage girls have been on the increase in the country.

In February 2021, men of the Lagos State Police Command arrested four suspects for gang-raping a teenager in the Ejigbo area of the state.

The suspects, who were also teenagers, allegedly attacked the victim on her way to buy food.

In July 2022, the police in Ogun State also arrested three men for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl while forcing her into a cult.

The victim was running an errand for her mother when she was waylaid and abducted by the cult members.

The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, said there was an increase in formal and informal reporting of sexual and gender-based violence.

She said, “In the unfortunate instance where sexual violence occurs, the survivor is encouraged to immediately go to a designated health facility to receive medical attention and counselling.

“The survivor is also encouraged to report the case at a designated police station because these issues are criminal and securing conviction is one of the ways of ending the culture of impunity.”

NLC Rejects Buhari’s Two-week Ultimatum, Insists On Protest

• ASUU says no going back on protest!

The Federal Government and labour unions on Wednesday clashed over the groups’ refusal to back down on its planned two-day nationwide protests scheduled for July 26 and 27.

No fewer than 40 unions, including the aviation workers will participate in the rally called in solidarity with the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities which has shut down public universities since February 14 over the failure of the government to meet its demands.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday said the protest was illegal since the Nigeria Labour Congress had no pending disputes with the government but the congress retorted that it would go on with the protest, saying the freedom to protest is guaranteed by the constitution.

ASUU had embarked on a one-month warning strike on February 14 to press home its demand for the implementation of the October 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement.

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Non-Academic Staff Union of Allied and Educational Institutions and National Association of Academic Technologists later joined the industrial action.

In May, the ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, announced the extension of the three-month prolonged strike by an additional three months.

In reaction, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said in March that the government had paid over N92bn , including  N40bn for earned academic allowances for ASUU and other unions and N30b for university revitalisation as part of the implementation of the agreement reached with the union in December 2020.

The FG also reconstituted a team to renegotiate the 2009 agreement it had with the varsity teachers. The team was headed by Pro-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Prof Nimi Briggs.

To fast-track the resolution of the crisis, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Tuesday, directed the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, to resolve the five-month strike within two weeks and report back to him.

In solidarity with ASUU, the NLC on July 17 announced that it would kick off a nationwide protest to pressure the federal government to resolve the crisis in the tertiary education sector.

But addressing State House correspondents after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by the President, the information minister, Mohammed, accused the congress of being motivated by partisan interests, saying it was supposed to be “completely insulated from politics.”

He said, “The NLC is not a political party. The NLC can go on strike or protest if the rights of the NLC members are involved. What the NLC is planning in the next few days is about interest. There’s no dispute whatsoever between NLC as a body with the Federal Government.

“Well yes, there’s a dispute between some members of the NLC, ASUU and the federal government, which is being looked into. And NLC itself is a party to the committee that is looking into the solution.

“So, calling out people on street protest; you begin to wonder, what is the motive of the NLC in this matter? But you see here, we do not interrogate what the NLC is doing. The NLC by its own laws cannot even give out pamphlets. And the NLC is supposed to be completely insulated from politics.”

Fielding questions about plans by aviation workers to join the strike in solidarity with ASUU, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said such a move should not be contemplated as it would put lives at risk.

“I’m naturally concerned about this if the aviation union will shut down in support of ASUU. I would say they have no need to. This is democracy. You can push for demands. But in pressing for demands, you should be reasonable in doing so; where lives can be lost because of your own activity. I think it should be reconsidered.

“So, civil aviation workers should not be part of this. We’ve spoken to them and I don’t think they will join because they know that there’s a huge responsibility for lives on their heads.

“I believe that they are very aware of the enormous responsibility upon them in civil aviation and they should continue to see it so and continue to be as law-abiding as we want them to be,” Sirika said.

In a separate briefing, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, said he had proposed one week to resolve the FG-ASUU faceoff but the education minister volunteered to resolve the issues in two weeks.

He also debunked reports that the President asked him to steer clear of the negotiations saying “the truth of the matter is there is no such thing, it’s just categorically untrue. There is nothing like a hands-off.”

Also, the Federal Ministry of Education described as unreasonable the plans of the NLC to embark on a two-day solidarity protest despite the directive of the President to the education minister to end the lingering strike in two weeks.

Speaking in an interview with The PUNCH in Abuja, the spokesperson for the education ministry, Ben Goong, advised ASUU to call off its strike pending the commencement of the negotiations by Adamu.

He stated, “The President has given specific directives and the minister of education has said that he will carry out the president’s directive to the letter. It is a presidential directive and it will happen. Actions have been taken.

“If they still go ahead with the strike then it will be unreasonable. It will be a slap on the face of the president and also on the minister. In fact, we will advise ASUU to suspend its strike pending when the negotiations begin.”

Reacting, the Head, Information and Public Affairs, NLC, Mr Benson  Upah, in an interview with The PUNCH, said the government could resolve the lingering strike within three days if it was serious about the crisis, stressing that the union was going ahead with its protests.

He stated, “We’re still going ahead (with the protests). The public action is on the July 26th and then the mega one is on (July) 27th.  So, I mean, of what effect will two weeks have on that?

“I am saying that had the government asked the minister of education to solve this problem within two or three days, aha. But he is giving him two weeks, and two weeks will come after our protest must have taken place. Don’t you think so? So it’s like take charge of it.’’

NLC hits FG

While acknowledging the ultimatum handed down to the education minister, the NLC spokesman argued that nothing had happened to change the proposed rally.

He further added, ‘’If the government wants to end this matter today, I assure you that they will be able to fix it in three hours. Remember when the airline operators planned to go on strike and within hours there was an intervention; remember?

“The summary of what I want to tell you is that nothing has happened for us to change our proposed action. All I know is that we’re going on with our action.’’

Responding to allegation that the protest was illegal, Upah averred that the minister should be worried by the damage caused to the education system by the protracted strike.

He noted, “Freedom of expression, freedom of protest are within the ambit of the law and guaranteed by the constitution; so, he (minister) does not have the power to abolish it.

“ASUU is part of the unions that make up the NLC and we all know that for the past six months or so ASUU had had issues with the government; an issue that government has not resolved.’’

Insisting that the union was not partisan, Upah stated, ‘’No political sentiment, we are guided purely by national interest. It should be of conscience to the minister of information that for the past six months our children and wards have been out of school and the collateral damage of that is simply inestimable; it is mind-boggling.”

The Secretary General of the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals, Abdulrasaq Saidu, in a telephone interview with The PUNCH, said that the union’s solidarity strike would still hold.

He said, “We are bound to carry out the NLC decision because we are part of it, we are an affiliate of NLC. It was the national executive council of the NLC that called for that strike and it must hold. If it’s not going to hold it is only the national executive council that will stop it.

“Whatever Buhari said is only an afterthought because they were there since ASUU went on strike- the minister of education and labour too. All affiliates of NLC will embark on the planned strike. We are complying and carrying out the instruction of the NLC.”

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, the ASUU president, Osodeke, explained that every Nigerian citizen had the right to protest, adding that NLC was not planning a solidarity protest but because ASUU was an affiliate of NLC.

Osodeke said, ‘‘Every Nigerian citizen has the right to protest especially on this issue that has to do with our children and future generation. Nigerians have been too peaceful; with the way Nigeria is today, Nigerians are supposed to be on the street protesting every day. The NLC will stage the protest, let the police arrest  them.’’

Also, the national president, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, referred the government to the relevant sections of the labour laws.

‘‘Lai Mohammed missed the point because all university unions are an affiliate of NLC. NLC has mobilised all unions and it is not only the university, about 40 affiliates have set out to join the protest. He cannot singlehandedly say it is illegal. It is only an industrial court that can say it is illegal,’’ said Mohammed.

The National Association of Academic Technologists, President, Mr Ibeji Nwokema, said, ‘‘We are an affiliate of the NLC, If we have negotiations with the government we can invite the NLC to come and be part of it. If there are issues, NLC will intervene;  saying it is illegal it’s not true.’’

The President, Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance & Financial Institutions, Mrs Oyinkan Olasanoye, said, “Both the NLC and TUC have called that they are going on protest. Definitely, every Nigerian that believes that the future of this country depends on education will definitely join the protest.”

NANS mobilises

The National Association of Nigerian Students said it had commenced the mobilisation of its members across the country to join the proposed nationwide protest by the NLC.

NANS President Sunday Asefon, in a statement on Wednesday, directed all NANS structures across the country to mobilise and join the NLC protest and ensure the success of the exercise.

He stated, ‘’All NANS structures across the country would mobilise and join the NLC protest. NANS will not only be involved in the mobilisation of students to the protest sites but will act based on the directives provided by the NLC and also submit to the leadership of NLC all through the protest.’’

Meanwhile, ASUU has again knocked the minister of labour and employment, saying he ought to resign.

In a statement on Wednesday, the chairperson of ASUU, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Dr Gbolahan Bolarin noted that the minister had continued to defame the union and instigate other unions against ASUU.

A current affairs analyst, Dr. Busari Dauda said the  NLC should go ahead with the protest, noting that the government was yet to demonstrate it was serious about ending the strike.

Also, Olaseni Shalom said the several failed promises of the government has made it hard for the NLC to believe in the recent directives given to the minister.

A lawyer, Victor Giwa said the NLC protest would be tagged political because of its affiliation with the Labour Party, urging the NLC to suspend its protest and give the president the benefit of the doubt.

He said, “NLC should have done the solidarity protest long ago; since the president has issued an ultimatum to the education minister, the protest should be suspended. Their protest now is going to be coloured because they have a political party and its candidate is at the forefront of the 2023 presidential election.”

In a related development, the Federal Government has revalidated the proposed disbursement of N30b revitalization fund to federal polytechnics and colleges of education, The PUNCH has learnt.

Confirming the development, the National President of ASUP, Dr Anderson Ezeibe, said, “The issue of the revitalization fund has been revalidated during our warning strike after the previous approval elapsed. The fresh challenge is that they are trying to decide the allocation formula unilaterally, without stakeholders.’’

Similarly, the Secretary General of COEASU, Dr Ahmed Lawan, in a text message, stated, “Modalities for the disbursement of the revitalization fund are yet to be agreed upon as the committee of stakeholders which is saddled with the responsibility is expected to reconvene within the next few weeks.’’

The spokesperson for the ministry of education, Goong said, “There will be a sitting and all the modalities will be fashioned out. The minister will see to it.”
