mrstanley1: Hey guys, sorry was offline for awhile. The truth is if you haven't heard from them which I feel most have..just move on. The reply of reject mail was generic to most applicant if not all. The recruitment process is internal,if you know what I mean. Seriously bro, their recruitment process is obscure. The regret mail is generic; as I hardly seen any one with Success mail. Almost everyone I knew got rejection mail . |
Career › Re: 150k Job In South East Or 200k Job In Lagos by FunnyDude(m): 7:53am On Jul 06, 2018 |
I was born in Lagos Metropolis, the city is densely populated with Traffic congestion and Human population; creating a surge in cost of transportation and accommodation. Lagos average mini flat cost 300k per annum while in other state(SOUTHEAST inclusive) may be 120k maximum.
Cost of living is very very very high in Lagos. You might not save anything tangible from that 200k of yours if care is not taken.
The pains of daily traffic is another topic entirely; where you live your home as early as 5am to resume office at 9am..
People might scream "Lagos has opportunity bla bla" But you have to be smart to get these opportunities else you might not even get any.
Lagos is a No for anyone that already has means of livelihood outside the state. |

david290: While your points 1 and 2 were absolutely spot on, your point 3 though. Any serious writer having perfectly executed points 1 and 2 should avoid Upwork. What I'll suggest as a replacement to Upwork include: * Job boards like problogger and freelancewritinggigs.com. * Joining relevant Facebook groups. Pro tip: join less of writers group but more of marketer and entrepreneur groups. * Get published on authority and high trafficked websites like Entrepreneur and Forbes. * Start pitching companies that fit into your ideal client profile. * If you know credible writers like Bamidele or Emenike - friend them. These guys may not frequently outsource but you never know. That mentioned, I'd say preference asterik 1 and 4. Executing them can be a pain in the ass at the start - but if you succeeded on Upwork - I can bet you'll succeed with those two client hunting tactics, too. Information they say is Power. I do read Bamideles' blog, he showed us some freelance site aside fiverr, upwork that pays writers $50 per article or even per hour self. The 20% charge on Upwork and Fiverr make it looks like slavery to me. How can you struggle to earn $1000, and they'll deduct a whole $200..Too much! The guy is good. |

No basic infrastructure to support businesses with SME's shutting down daily, as to what end would be you opening a business that would most likely not survive the wheather at this time? majekdom2: you will always come and defend mediocrity. you have this plant and that plant... how many are functioning at maximum capacity.read through my post and understand my point.. Majority of the cars on Nigerian roads are imported , simple. its not about having this or that,, I never said you did not have it. How many are working at full capacity. Are we supposed to be importing used cars from abroad? if those plants are working at full capacity, wont the level of unemployment reduce by a good number. The steel factory, how about refineries and many I cant even remember now. @ bolded, just as I expected, limited knowledge in the topic but yet we go show say we sabi. read about the whats happening in Kenya and South Africa as it concerns blockchain... these are African countries I mentioned . You are there saying new but nations have start up solving problems using block chain already. Block chain is nit just a bout crypto.. this still new mentality is why Nigeria is always late to the party. what IT skills are you talking? App development? many apps developed that dont have a problem they are solving. you are not a developing country, you are an underdeveloped country. Again, the problem wih Nigeria is not skills. The problem with Nigeria is are are a big 'cosumer' and dumping ground economy. Hmmnn no be lie. We still have a long way to go in terms of providing value. Imagine cryptocurrency most countries has develop other uses of it with different ICOs. |

Also, a friend's wife earns 6 thousands naira at one so called private school in Ijoko, Ogun state..I told her I did ptefare sitting at home than d hell of a Job. Those are the area where power supply is OK. They can leverage on that. Is just that most graduates so much believes in earning monthly salary which won't be enough to them at last. mrphysics: Well done bro. Nice thread. My respect boss.
People have to pay for their ignorance. Most people come to nairaland to argue forgetting that most people that spend time on nairaland have something doing. Some chat from office using their office Wi-Fi.
The day I opened the business section of nairaland, I regretted the last three years of my stay on nairaland. While I was arguing, some persons were busy making money online. I didn't pay for anything. I patiently read the Fiverr thread till the 10th page. Took the first step, was patient and within a year I made over $10k. I didn't pay for any tutorial yet I still have a nice work here in Abuja.
Instead of them to be visiting business section and investment section, they prefer to go to romance section and call us broke boys. One name highqueen, preashy156 or whatever are undergraduates yet they spent time on romance section arguing with us while I chat from the office with two dedicated writers for my freelance business.
Ignorance is important. The guy wants unemployed people to pay for information readily available online. SMH. I feel happy when those I guided call me that they want to make their first withdrawal. I feel happy because while others are importing and wasting the naira, I contribute to the strengthening of the naira in my little way.
All these people here shouting think it's a get rich quick program however patience is key. That's the spirit bro. Our slogan "No matter the economy of the jungle we will never eat grass, it's not a pride. But because we are Lions." Keep soaring. The sky is your starting point. |
