Kudos to you all, Justwise, Dharkchild and Donxavier. You are all doing a great job on this thread. 15 working days is like forever.

holloziggi: I graduated last year and it takes 2years for d certificate to be ready NB I used my statement of result to get the admission not the original certificate
Eeya!! But why your Tier 4 sponsor con write BSc certificate when you don't even have it yet. [s]I wish all 9ja Universities be like my alma mata, got my original certificate almost immediately after graduation. Better by far!!![/s]

Please email your tier 4 sponsor to complain about this.

Sorry, to interrupt this interesting and educative debate o,but i need a quick clarification.
My CAS was mailed to me on sat,but on the section the docs section, they wrote,"Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree Certificate 2008/9.."
Meanwhile,my certificate that i scanned to them is clearly dated May 23,2008.

1.Should I mail them to have this corrected or can I go ahead to submit.

2.My School is resuming Sept. 19 but am just submitting on Wed. I intend to mail them for ano extension, should I just attach their reponse to my application or wait for them to update the CAS before submitting.

3. Do I write the new date on the course start date or put the old resumption date.

4.@Futuredon....is it directadmissions that I'll mail for the extension or my course leader.

Thanks a Billion
I understand you perfectly bro. The academic session I graduated was also stated on my CAS statement, while the graduation date stated on my original certificate was ignored. I guess that's the normal procedure.

My question now is; what academic session (not date) did you graduate from? If it's totally different from what's on your CAS, please contact the School for it to be corrected. I'm sure it won't take long. You can email them tomorrow, I'm not sure if they observe THIS public holiday in the UK. It would be corrected before Wednesday morning.

I'm not sure if you would be given a new start date (some School and/or programs don't grant extension). Even if they grant an extension, I think they can only support it with a letter of approval. Don't know for sure if it would be updated on the CAS. I'm not sure sha.....

I seriously don't think you need an extension bro. Sept 19 is more than 15 working days from the day you plan to submit.

If at all you need an extension, you'll have to mail SHU directadmisions. You can as well cc your course leader.

I salute you all, pleas allow me to contribute;

Seriously, I don't think the Tier 4 sponsor cares about where your maintenance fee is coming from. Honestly, I have not seen any section on the CAS statement where it is indicated that the prospective student has part or complete funds for his maintenance.

So I personally think the duly signed letter from the State Government would be enough to fulfill the UKBA requirements for maintenance fee.

kunlewoye: Wherever did people get this thing about KLM being cheap? Or did I check the wrong site? BA, Emirates, Qatar Airways(what with the long wait *sighs* in Doha, Qatar before the flight to London) are about the best to London, although you have to transit in Paris/Madrid, Doha, Dubai, depending on which of the airlines you choose. Please does one need a transit visa to stop at these countries en route the UK?
Lol at the KLM being cheap grin I looked it up as well and it was far from being cheap. To the best of my knowledge, you don't need a transit visa to stop at Doha and Dubai airports BUT you won't be allowed to leave the airport during those long waiting hours.

penfold: Thanks Pal,I finally got an alert(debit) from 1st bank on friday, after a strongly worded petition to their HQ.I called SHU on monday but they told me that since the bank made the transfer around 4pm,I should wait till today(wed) since it has not reflected in their own account. They also said that since I'm paying the full tution, they'll mail d CAS the day they see the payment.Everything is set o,forms filled, docs ready, except for CAS.....in fact,I HATE FIRST BANK!!!!
Things are looking good since you've received debit alert from First Bank. I'm sure you'll get your CAS as soon as they acknowledge your payment, mine wasn't delayed at all.

I pray you get the CAS this week bro. You can use this period to peruse your already filled forms to make it error-free.

SHU awaits you. All the best!

Dharkchild: Thanks for the info. pls who its going to Manchester between 10th and 17th?
I intend traveling to Manchester within that period also, my final destination is Sheffield. Seems you are going to Sheffield too? Qatar Airways appears to be the cheapest at the moment, no thanks to the long waiting hours at Doha, Qatar.

I'm awaiting visa approval though. Hopefully, it's going to be good news for us.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by FutureDon(m): 9:07pm On Aug 07, 2012
I submitted at Ikeja VAC yesterday. Got there around 10.50. I booked an appointment for 11:30AM, so I had to hang around for some minutes. I took my passport just directly opposite the VAC, they know about the requirements, it's advisable you take it there or inside the VAC for 1k.

On getting inside, I obtained a payment slip from the security guy. Everything was straight forward cos the ELOQUENT security guy announced what steps to take. They include:

1. Making photocopies for all the supporting documents excluding bank statements.

2. Passport photo should be glued on the right side of application forms (There were glue sticks provided).

3. Separating original documents from photocopies.

Honestly, everything was orderly, I going to commend them for that. As I was about to make payment in the inner room, a security guy CODEDLY approached me, promising to help me bypass the crowd if I'm willing to drop 5k. I CODEDLY told him I would be back to tip him but went to follow the normal process.

Since it was in stages and orderly, I was able to finish in good time. I must also say that I added a printout of my CAS statement letter.

Now the time to start counting is finally here.

I wish you all and myself a successful application at the BHC. See you guys at the top.

Yes. Should in-case you want to leave it in your account for the 28 days rituals, it's advisable to add a little more just to give room for fluctuations in currency rates.

TravelRe: Important Advice To Students Coming To The UK by FutureDon(m): 4:13am On Aug 03, 2012
justwise: If you were honest with your student visa application then you will not face hardship when you get to the UK, but you lied about the money you never had and borrowed money to build your account just to get a visa then hardship is your birth right when you get to the UK.

Happy now?
Exactly what I was about to say. It's either he lied about the money or he had no REAL intention of studying in the UK, just looking for ways to 'ja comot'.

I'm not against using an agent for visa counseling and application packaging. There are somethings you need to know Sir, don't leave everything to your agent, they have a lot of applications they manage. You would have gotten your visa if you have carefully read UKBA's condition on making payment for accommodation.

I wish you GOOD LUCK with your re-application.

Donxavier: . First bank. Well my mum is a current account holder with First bank and it was only her that was my referee..
Ok bro, that explains it. Their bank charges is still cheap compared to WEMA bank charges. I heard Skye Bank charges 1% of the total money you are transferring. Keep up your good work on this thread.

What bank is that bro? Cos some banks requires 1 or 2 current account holders as referee.

UNLEASHED: If not for the recent measures imposed on international student visa, I see nothing wrong with studying in the UK if you're mentally and financially up for it. There are loads of US citizen who came here to study and of which I know about 7 of them so what's your point Mr.?
You've said it all bro, God bless you. The recent immigration measures on student visa won't adversely affect their well-rated educational standards.
