I will advise you not to toe the path of that mechanic, don't change the engine Block, better you go for a complete engine replacement. There are some mechanics that have engine suppliers at ladipo, and it's fix "before payment". When they fix the engine and they are satisfied with the performance, that's when payment is made
Car Talk › Re: Lagos State Number-Plate Recognition Camera Caught Man Driving With Expired Pape by gabbasin(m): 5:23pm On Apr 28, 2023
In my own experience; the camera flagged me at Ikeja for not having a valid roadworthiness.
I was fined 20k but I contested the fine because I have Ogun state issued road worthness certificate. I uploaded the road worthiness certificate as evidence; And after 2 weeks the fine was cancelled. I live in Ogun state so its logical to get my road worthiness certificate in the state.
I always go to the VIS portal to make sure I had not incurred any fine and I always make sure my papers are up to date

When you have a failed marriage, you'll assume it's so for everyone and think marriage isn't worth it just because a bitch of a wife gave you a child fathered by someone else
Politics › Re: Chimamanda Adichie Writes A Letter To Biden On 2023 Presidential Elections by gabbasin(m): 8:36am On Apr 07, 2023
Even Trump tried to discredit the election that ushered in Biden, Chimamanda can wail as much as she can, no perfect election anywhere. Obi lost and trying to invalidate Tinubu"s victory because of irregularities in dozens of polling units out of more than 170,000 is senseless, How many polling units results were doctored out of the over 170,000 PUs, that's what Adichie failed to say. Obi lost loud and clear and he didn't even come second.
Crime › Re: Pastor Kayode Salami Arrested For Raping & Killing Adejoke Oloje In Ondo Church by gabbasin(m): 4:45pm On Mar 24, 2023
We are just too quick to judge, no one here called for autopsy, mere finding the woman dead in the room given to her by the pastor doesn't necessarily translate to the pastor being the killer, let's allow the police to do their investigation before condemning the man

Which means if a higher institution said I must get 5 credits and Maths and English for my course of study and it happen I have 7 As but fail the Maths and English, have meet the requirement to study? Let's leave premptiness alone and face the reality. That clause in our constitution need alot of clarification and I'm so happy this is the time for that clarification.
it's clear enough but those that want to edge you guys on will want you to believe what is not; the spirit of the wordings of this section of the constitution is about Abuja's inclusiveness not her special status
Politics › Re: 'FCT Is Mere 37th' - SDP Presidential Candidate, Adebayo Adewole by gabbasin(m): 2:50pm On Mar 23, 2023
The obidients are headless mob truly, they can believe anything the more it will give hope to an utopian Obi presidency. Even if they can't comprehend the constitutional 25% in 2/3 of 36 states and FCT, at least they should apply common sense and logic, so if a candidate wins in all the 36 states he can't still be declared president because he couldn't get 25% of Abuja votes? And the funny thing is that their vice presidential candidate is harping on this as the reason why Tinubu shouldnt have been declared president elect. Datti is really a daft

Politics › Re: Without Winning FCT, A President Cannot Be Legally Declared — Ozoani by gabbasin(m): 2:30pm On Mar 02, 2023
This is funny. So a presidential candidate will win all the states of the federation and just because he failed to get 25% of the votes in the FCT; he can't be declared the winner of the election. This is a joke taken too far. This technicality can't fly in the face of logic and in law; Just look at the letters and spirit in that section of the constitution and you will know why lawyers sometimes misled their clients to file frivolous suits in court

A white elephant project, waste of scarce funds, this airport will only serve the elite flying private jets up and down. Cargo airport my foot. The industrial capital of Ogun state is Ado odo/Ota local government (Ota/Agbara axis) which is less than one hour drive to the Lagos Airport. Building an airport far away from that axis makes no sense. This so called cargo airport is just an airfield for the convenience of the elite

Politics › Re: 2023 Election: INEC Gets Cash For Elections by gabbasin(m): 7:52am On Feb 22, 2023
Those people supporting the cash confiscation policy of the CBN should have asked INEC too to go cashless, at least INEC too can carry out seamless transactions, paying the bus owners and others offering logistics support through electronic transfer. If it's that easy to carry out business without cash, why is INEC asking for cash
Business › Re: I Just Deposited Old Notes At CBN - LadyTara by gabbasin(m): 3:51pm On Feb 16, 2023
People are still transacting with the old 500 and 1000 naira notes in Lagos and Ogun states, transporters still accept it likewise market women, seems people have no choice than to accept it as legal tender. The new notes are scarce to come by. Imagine you go deposit your old notes at the CBN, and on your way back home you give the bus conductor a new note of 1000 naira for a fare of 500, and he gave you change in old note of 500 naira. Are you going to fIll another form to deposit the 500 naira at the CBN, or you spend the 500 naira?
There's a form of civil disobedience with people still transacting with the old notes

Obi and his crew think that the policy will only affect vote buying.... no.... it will affect Nigerians in no small way.
the opposition (PDP and LP) are in support of the cash cranch, not really because it will curtail vote buying, but the angst of the people not being able to access their cash will make them vote against APC. They give the impression that the policy is good because it will curtail vote buying, but it's about seeing the populace suffer so that they will punish the APC in the polls. Anyone who believes that votes can be bought in a presidential election is either a mischief maker or playing on the intelligent of the people,
Properties › Re: Prepaid Meter: How Do I Handle This With My Landlord? by gabbasin(m): 3:40pm On Feb 13, 2023
I will advise you to talk to your landlord about the debt on the meter, you can't really blame the landlord because he wanted the tenants to have a separate meter which is ok. Since you've been paying the landlord your energy bills regularly, I think he shoukd have made you guys aware that he has gotten a different billing account for you the tenants. And you should have been paying on the new account instead of him still collecting money from the tenants to buy token on the prepaid meter he's sharing with you. As soon as he is making moves for a separate account, he should have separated the connection from the pole and you guys should have been paying on the new account. The best thing is to share the embedded bill on the new meter to all of you hitherto using his own meter. Make sure you have your points as you approach him.
Politics › Re: Do You Agree With This Presidential Election Prediction By The Nation Newspaper? by gabbasin(m): 11:05am On Feb 13, 2023

Politics › Re: Jarus' Forecast Of 2023 Presidential Election by gabbasin(m): 7:46am On Feb 13, 2023
This is a realistic forecast and it aligns 90% to my own prediction, The facts here is that PDP has more spread than APC, but the majority votes will give it to APC. In all the states PDP will either make 1st or 2nd except for Lagos where the party will come 3rd, APC strongholds have large voters and this is what will count for BAT.

Are we going to continue like this, are we going to continue buying the naira? are we still going to be queuing up for cash in banks? Is the poor have to suffer because some few elements are into the crime of kidnapping? It's like saying we have to do without cash because we can be robbed of it. I don't see the end in sight of this cash crunch, it seems it's a deliberate policy to deny people of cash with the postulating of the justice minister

Road2Success:
Hello nairalanders,

Please I will want you all to read this. though I am not a good writer. I rented an apartment somewhere on the Lagos island. We are just 4 in the compound. When I parked into my apartment my wife came with a pregnancy but we lost the baby when she gave birth to the boy. The following year she got pregnant again, The baby also died the day she gave birth. I am not a religious person but my wife is closer to God. She has been telling me about this compound but I just don't have any reason to think or suspect anything.

Lemme tell you in my compound if one of us is working the others will lose there job. I have no reason to be suspecting anything untill I heard that one of the tenants is owning our landlord 2 years rent and our landlord didn't raise voice. In this Lagos that I know landlord don't joke with house rent. Our landlord don't bother us for rent. Sometimes I will be the one sending the house rent to him without him even asking.

I also heard that was the same thing that happened to previous occupants. They lived there without paying for many years and the landlord didnt disturb them.

I won't say our live is better in this house. We are just struggling to survive. Currently I am the only one working while others don't have a job. I am beginning to doubt if our landlord is truly a generous man as we do called him, since he don't bother us for rent.

My wife have lost two pregnancy in this house. I have been jobless many times in this house. I honestly need people opinion on this matter.

Is this house diabolic or the landlord is just a generous manhuh

Moderators please help me move this to front page you better forget thinking along this line. Superstition will do you know good, find out from a qualified medical practitioner, a gynaecologist why your wife is having miscarriages. Then about co tenants losing their jobs; it's not peculiar to them, in these harsh economy, there are lots of business concerns folding up or downsizing, and it's affecting most employees not your co tenants alone. Your landlord is just a nice man and most likely he isn't relying on the rents for a living. Ask yourself, assuming you are in your own house and your wife is having miscarriages and your tenants are being relieved of their jobs, will you say your house is cursed? Or will you be happy if you are being accused of using your tenants' glory. Take your wife to a gynaecologist and find out what you can do to avoid future miscarriage, as for your house mates, they will get jobs, it may take time but the house is not cursed nor your landlord using your glories

Their madness is now beyond repair. I will not be suprise if Africa follows their pattern. Satan will always place his men/women in top positions in churches before he takes over. To every Christian know this: Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. Put your trust on Christ alone, not your pastor. Hebrews 12:2.
they brought Christianity to us, so they know better. If we had stayed with our own indigenous religion, no one will be tossing us around. But as for me, religion is the biggest scam in the world, and na we Africans mumu pass,

CBN could only be able to release a billion naira to the banks in 3 days when they have mopped up 2 trillion naira already, so how many days will it take them to release a trillion naira, it will take the CBN one thousand days to release into circulation a trillion naira with the rate the official is stating here, CBN has no enough notes to release into circulation, they are just finding who to put the blame of their inefficiency on
Politics › Re: Why CBN Shouldn’t Extend Naira Swap Deadline – Atiku by gabbasin(m): 7:07pm On Feb 01, 2023
Extending the deadline isn't the issue, the issue is making the new currency accessible to everyone, depositing the old currency in the banks without being able to have the hard cash for sundry spendings is tantamount to putting the ordinary folks into hardships as being experienced currently

They deliberately reduced the volume of the new notes so those who like hoarding and storing them wont have access to it.

It's the people in the rural areas that are going to suffer this currency swap most, it won't have effect on politicians that we think are the target of the currency swap, there's no way CBN won't extend the deadline when banks are still giving out the old currency 6 days to the deadline. And when this poor folks in the hinterland take the old currency for deposit, will the banks be able to give them the new currency?
