I think most fathers did from a place of lack of understanding. For them, it was about how they were raised and them replicating the same thing. Many are still making the same mistake and sometimes, I feel it is because we know but don't understand.

I am sure if you have a one-on-one discussion with him regarding why he acted that way, you will be shocked it was because he thought/knew it was better not that he understood if it was the right thing to do.

At some point, I had a boss that was a big pain in the ass and was about resigning from my job. My dad been an HR expert who worked for one of the Management Consultants who recruited senior positions (the company had the Ashoka tree as its logo) for many big firms told me not to but I should rather send an anonymous email to HR and let them know what I was going through. He said should they ask me to resign, that was the evidence we will take with us to FIC.

The head of HR then tried to make me unveil myself and I only told me I was a concerned staff and this were documents for his record. When my group head tried pulling a stunt, HR moved me to another department that had requested my service earlier and my boss never released me to.

It is unfortunate many of us bask in our ignorance and think the world still lives in the stone age. Perhaps, we have heard too much of the naysayers and can't see the light for once.

My very own father employed a labor lawyer when he was unjustly let go from his company back in the 1990s. Nigerians are just filled with excuses upon excuses for why they should not do the right thing.

Please don't blame us too much. Many of us rely too much on ear says which makes it difficult for us to achieve that we can within our purview because we are easily distracted by naysayers. I have learned that it is sometimes unreasonable to be bothered by the plight of Nigerians as they do not seek help for the real reasons.

The lawyer may win your case and the defendant will not pay and appeal the judgement to the appeal court and supreme court if he has money, and this takes years. So you expect the lawyer to be going to court for years without payment? How I'll he survive?

I rest my case. Our lawyers can keep doing what they do that puts food on their table since that is sufficient for them.

To upturn presidential election you have to prove substantial manipulation in almost all the 18, 000 polling units in Nigeria and that is a tall task

The best we can do is wait to hear the judgment of the tribunal. So many things remain inconclusive as there are indicators that some of LP's vote were suppressed and APC inflated. Thus, we can only hope that the judgment is true and fair to all involved.
