I know I've said it before - I have no solutions for healthcare and primary education. Healthcare in particular is an unavoidable risk and completely independent of voluntary demand. So they're not fit for the free market.

It's clear however that Black Africans, in this case Nigerians, can't organize a socialist healthcare system and the evidence is ALL of Nigeria's history since 1960. We just don't have what it takes and even the UK and Canada are having problems with their socialist healthcare system. [b] So we have to try ANOTHER option, which is completely profit driven, capitalist and free market. What other option do we have? I'd like to read your take.

Good Luck to Nigerians
I do agree that we are very incompetent in managing infrastructure and services for the public good, and also considering our unfortunate diversity. In that case, privatisation to the end. But people go suffer and die o. embarassed

I can help fix the machine but that problem is that it is obsolete and parts might not be available.
When these people buy such equipment, they should never pay in full. Instead they should lease from the manufacturer. Siemens, GE, Philips and Konica are all good brands.
An agreement of sales and service should be reached to reduce downtime.
This is a money spinner but most investors in Nigeria are only interested in hotel business.
A quick maths will give you an idea of the business aspect
Take for instance, at 100k per exam for easy 20 exams in a day is #2M
An equipment lease of 20 % interest rate of $150k ( equipment cost and installing) is just $30k. Divine this by 12 month you have $2500 a month
This amount is achievable in any teaching hospital MRI department in Nigeria.
And they will have newer, well maintained machine.
Lack of information and exposure to international market / investors is the problem in these respect.
In case they need my help and service I am available.
So, the hospitals work directly with those manufacturers, not the investors who matched them? If I understand correctly, the machines would be on the hospital's premises, right?

It is just that I don't trust anything public in Nigeria.

All this nonsense with healthcare in Nigeria would be greatly improved in about 10 to 25 years if government, especially the Federal Government, would simply get out of the sector. Just get out, exit, wash their hands of it everything. Invite competent health standards organizations like JCHAO to do the regulation. Let the private sector take over and watch what will happen.

Nigerians love socialism so this is what they will always get.
Good Luck to Nigerians.
While we are both capitalists, privatising health care and education does not sit right with me. That is something I have wanted to converse with you - your penchant for privatising health care and education. Nigerians don't even have the money to pay for these services at public hospitals. Would they be able to pay when it is privatised? The same holds true for education. Unlike the US, where there are equally good public universities, most countries' top universities are publicly owned. So, why advocate for privatisation?

Let's look at Brazil, where education is free till the university level. There ought to be subsidies in certain sectors, of which education and health care are paramount.

How much is MRI?Sadiya Farooque alone stole billions of naria from social investment.Former accountant general of federation stole close to N200bn, Yahaya Bello alone stole N80.2bn ,Emefiele and his cohort also stole staggering amount of public funds via the ways and means and others. Even El-Rufai with $350m loan he took from World Bank couldn't spare some amount out of it to purchase functional MRI and dialysis machine for Barau Dikko Hospital which now serves as teaching hospital for Kaduna State University though he employed young experienced medical personnel but no functional facilities to work with.Nigeria needs total shift from corruption which has turned to norm,no one we do it for us until we arise and put an end to this nonsense most of us are feeling indifferent to.
Honestly, day by day, I am finding it difficult to blame the white man for our woes as most do. Was it the white man who said those people should pilfer money meant for the public good?

But as an investor, shouldn't you be the one pitching the idea to these hospitals? As it is, I don't think Nigerians are rich enough to patronise newer models of MRI machines. Second hand is the best. Also, we are dealing with a public institution here, so I am wary of the payment model. I prefer selling to them the machines, not on a subscription model. Buy and go. I can offer a warranty, but a subscription? No.

Lol, UCH get MRI? How many top teaching hospitals get am for Naija?
MRI is an expensive diagnostic equipment. Our SR was telling us it costs about ₦2B to own one. People who can fix or produce it are rich automatically, these are stuff you should learn.

It's also a business idea that you buy this thing and put it in top teaching hospitals, if you're rich. A single diagnosis, using it goes for nothing less than 80k, and it's one of the unavoidable medical tools.

Thank me later.
Can the teaching hospitals actually pay for it? No be "come today, come tomorrow" for money?

Looking at the value of the naira, second hand MRI machines would be the best.

Tbh, I don't know the present price of sunflower seeds but should be around 50k per 100kg bag because the price moves closely with the price of soya beans. They are all oilseeds.
10 of 100kg bags make a ton which is 1000kg.
They are mostly weighed in 100kg per bag.

Most companies producing vegetable oil uses soya beans, palm oil, sesame seeds and groundnut seeds most.
And the byproduct also doesn't move well with Nigerian feedmillers unlike soya beans meal, groundnut cake. They mostly shy away from sunflower cake.
Thank you for the information.

You still remember my Huddersfield guy? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
I do o. grin

Anytime I read certain tales, I am curious to know the beginning and the entire process. I am conversant with MBA and MSc studies' career paths, so I am very interested in the paths black Africans go on after their studies in the abroad.

This is a different guy, Coventry University and e sure me die that 70% that got enrolled into that University's MBA programs and Msc International Business Management between 2021 and early 2023 were Nigerians just as that University's Msc Global Health Management was the exclusive sure plug for Indian healthcare professionals: doctors, dentists, pharmacists, ophthalmologist etc to japa through student route, a course that was overpopulated as every 3 months, over a hundred of Indian healthcare professionals were trooping into Coventry for the course. Theirs makes sense as it was a transition route towards their professional accreditation to practice in the UK.
Well, Coventry University is not worth it, especially for an investment banker (are you sure he was an IBanker?) who wants to get an OK job in the UK. I understand the need for japa and all, but rather than an MBA from Coventry, an international certification like PMP, CFA, or even ACCA would have been better. I am really curious about the kind of deals or company(ies) he worked on/with as an IBanker while in Nigeria. Also, I can bet that Coventry University's MBA does not have GMAT as part of its entry requirements.

Medical courses are good regardless of the country. The Indians played a good game. British universities are making a killing in selling their overpriced higher education.

Anyone here in the UK with a NVQ Level 3 Diploma (equivalent to OND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering ·will get employed before a Nigerian who obtained Msc Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Go to many factories and warehouses in the UK and see many Nigerian Msc graduates working as packers to earn their honest daily bread with Eastern Europeans whey no enter university for one day, as their supervisors and managers. ·

I have learnt not to hurriedly believe everything that pops up on the internet. Not that I'm saying the advert is false, but isn't there a possibility that a scorned ex or someone who's not in good terms with her could have put up this advert just to publicly put her to shame? Funny enough, it could even be one of these loan apps trying to tarnish her image for defaulting on a loan repayment. The bottom line is, sometimes you need to open up your mind when you come across such things.
Or she could be one of those girls who collect money from men with the promise of visiting them, but later rescinded. Those guys are ruthless on Facebook. If a girl collects money for coitus, but refuses to meet up, they escalate the matter and deploy all means to ensure she returns the money. The earlier she does, the less the damage. The slower she takes, the more damaging their actions.

Yes, going to a top school helps but how many Nigerians migrating are going to top schools.

Strong passport is good but strong passport without money is useless lol. My target for a strong passport is strictly based on economic activities and not necessarily travelling. There are people with these passports who can't travel cause they are broke. Sapa is a worldwide phenomenon. Economy is developed yes but no one is going to hand over anything to you. We are DEFENCELESS. We depend on white pepple for our military supplies. Amongst other things, too.

Nigeria is the most powerful black nation in the world and 80% of European and North American countries will lay waste to our country in a war.

The most painful thing is South Africa. Although it's a mixed country, it still has a large number of black people. Yet this African country chose to give up its nuclear weapons and stop all research into nuclear weapons.

The result is a continent full of POWERLESS countries whose existence rest on the benevolence of other WHITE nations.
It was forced to as a result of black rule coming to power. The white man would be uncomfortable with a majority black country owning nuclear weapons.

I am sure the mods erased the Yoruba Christians vs Yoruba Muslims aspect as it got to the front page. Nevertheless, it is important to state that neither group has rivalry. Yoruba Christians and Yoruba Muslims are one and the same people. That was how ignorant and naive Igbos believed Yoruba Christians wouldn't vote for Tinubu, only for him to outrightly win Ekiti and Ondo - two Christian-dominated states in the SW. Peter Obi came a distant third in all the states in the region.

The earlier you people understand Nigeria for WHAT it is, rather than what you EXPECT it to be, the better.
