If there is one thing I have noticed about Nigerians is their predilection for dishonesty. Nigerians have this innate dishonesty gene, which makes them dodge or parry questions. If farmers in the middle belt and northern part of the country can cultivate their harvests without being butchered, kidnapped or their crops/farmlands razed, prices of food would reduce considerably. Yes, but one Oluseun Akin (ex-PwC) man in his mid-30s got into UNC, an M7 school after acing GMAT very well. You are also right that they don't expect overly stellar work experiences/companies from Africans, provided it is a reputable company, especially MNCs. We have had folks with Shell, ExxonMobil, and even St Nicholas and 54Gene got into good B-schools. However, I disagree that a full ride is not possible. It is if one can get a very high GMAT. Indians get full rides, which is mainly due to high GMAT scores. These scores are part of ranking assessments and schools fight for high scorers. This is why I believe less popular schools can offer a full ride to someone, especially from a minority group with a high score. HWS are used to top scorers, but Ross, Hass and the likes are not, especially from an African.

The majority of Africans don't score very high in GMAT and GRE scores. You can check the information online. One Nairalander - Admitwithscholar - shared the link from ETS (makers of GRE). We score poorly in verbal scores than the Chinese, and obviously less in quant. For GMAT, we have an average of 650+. Check the website BusinessBecause. So, just because few Africans score high does not mean on overall we are high scorers. So, 750+ is a rarity, considering our numbers (test takers) are smaller than Indians and Chinese. We should also separate black Africans from North Africans, especially in admission decisions.

As far as I’m concerned, if I go HSW, I don’t have to live in yankee or be part of japa crew. I will even prefer to come back to Africa and get a high profile well paid job and maybe even become an entrepreneur with the network of contacts I made from Business School.

You are right about being ambitious. Maybe na old age don make me dey accept some offers. First, a GMAT of 750 is a rarity for sub-Saharan applicants. I was looking at the sure bet of scholarship; a 750+ GMAT score for Terry would come with a full ride. If Terry is too small, Ross is another good. Also consider that most of our people prefer to stay around places they can find other Nigerians, most are older so that fire burning ambition don reduce, most see postgraduate studies as a leeway to japa not necessarily for added knowledge amongst many things. For first class grads, M7 is a good place. Another thing is the calibre of organisations the applicant worked at before B-school. If not prestigious, the person might be OK with a school like Terry, or if we go higher, Rice is another good school, especially as it is in much more wealthier Texas.

Apparently, it is not just Nigerian men in Nigeria, but even in the abroad especially the Texas area where their wives have accepted their behaviours as our men fill the clubs and lounges paying hard dollars to baddies and sex workers. Even at that, it is still not a black man's thing, but everywhere as Chinese men spend a lot on escorts in Singapore, Macau and Philippines. In Thailand, Western men aka oyibo fill there for sexual rendezvous. It is a global phenomenon - the average man likes to fvck. It is nature, not nuture. Testosterone is a hormone, not a m.oron.

To some men, sex is a hobby just as a sommelier loves tasting and drinking different wines. There are people who spend a lot on wine tasting and drinking. Hobbies can be addictive, one just has to manage it properly and financially.

Additionally, sex is not free. The belief that it's free is entirely false. Sex is paid for in either kind (offering a job, contract or admission), cash (like opined on this thread) and commitment (marriage/engagement). However, in rare cases, handsome men get sex for free. This is the top 1% of Nigerian men as the vast majority of Nigerian men are ugly (myself inclusive). If you think getting a wife equates free sex, don't drop feeding money or money for her upkeep and beauty products.

In conclusion, the best way to derive benefit from the sex industry is to offer a service or products that patrons and players consume. This could be as a restaurant (my hypothesis says 50% of restaurants in Nigeria will shut down should men be faithful to their partners, ditto 75% of hotels for the same reason), lounges, intimacy gadgets, herbs for sex enhancement etc. Men will always demand for sex, you don't have to play as a patron but as an entrepreneur. That's how my parents built their wealth.

The issue of hook-ups is entirely on Nigerian men. Men sustain the industry, not women. These women don't fvck themselves. The average Nigerian man has an insatiable demand/urge for sex and would do anything to get it. That creates a market, and since women can be the only suppliers, they cater to this demand. If Nigerian men indulge in celibacy, the rate at which young girls resort to hook-up will drastically decline. It is simple economics. Additionally, it is biological because men have testosterone which induces the urge for sex every single day, people who cannot tame it will resort to demanding for sexual intercourse, and another set of people have to supply that demand.

Also, in poorer societies, many women resort to selling their bodies because they have fewer economic opportunities, just like men resort to stealing. In richer nations, the rate is very low. Even in prosperous patriarchal societies, women don't resort to prostitution because they have a high standard of living. For prostitution to reduce (it cannot be eradicated as the average men will ALWAYS want to fvck), Nigeria has to be rich and Nigerian men have to tame their lascivious demands.
