CaptainOjemba:Pls just shut the crap up. I have tried not to make too much comments on this topic, but some of you (truth be told there are many sensible people among Igbos) are just plain fo0lish to say the least. What did you do when your fellow Igbo man in Abia sacked non indigenes - even those from other Igbo states? Has anybody sacked anybody in Lagos on the ground of his tribe? Did Fashola Sometimes I don't even get some of you guys. On one hand you want political appointment in Lagos, while on the other hand you don't want want to have anything to do with Awolowo people. “That short man called Ngige, we gave him power and he went and joined Awolowo’s people; the people that killed the Igbos."Ambode by the special grace of God will win Lagos and that fo0l trying to cause ethnic divide in Lagos will be out to shame forever |
olatunji21:Precisely my point. If for nothing else, for creating ethnic tension in Lagos alone is enough to vote Ambode and send Jimi to political exile not only in Lagos but in the entire SW politics. If anything happens in Lagos, it will have massive effect across the country all because some daunce chemist want to take power by promoting ethnic divide in Lagos and support the idea of calling his homeland a no mans land. What a way to throw away your heritage; what a shame. |
Op, Being educated/literate is one thing, being intelligent is another. There are a lot of educated fo0ls out there. You know many of them by their senseless analysis. I am tempted to say this your analysis is an example, but I will not say that. The so called illiterates came out in large numbers (especially in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina) and voted to save their lives and that of their loved ones from the stealing is not corruption government. While the so called educated ones chose to Orubebe an election that was peaceful, disgracing the entire nation infront of the global audiance. In their folly, they cried that the election was rigged in those northern states. Even though a careful examination of the turnout rate in those states were just about 50% (they could have recorded 2.5m votes in Kano if they really wanted to rig and it will still be about 60% turnout rate). But the educated fo0ls close their eyes to the above 70% turnout rate in Rivers but chose to continue crying over the normal Kano votes. |
ojobekehinde:Did you tell your children the truth about all these conspiracies in 2011? Did you tell about about the magic numbers from some so-called minority regions of the country? It'll be nice to know your sincere response. |
If pdp was ruling Lagos, Ahmadu Bello way would have been submerged under the ocean! With APC, not only is the lives and properties secure, they have also gone into partnership with private sector and reclaimed 2km of land lost to the atlantic ocean. I can't think of why I will throw away the employment, and investment opportunities that will emerge when Eko atlantic project is in full swing by voting for a party that prevented Tinubu from protecting the shoreline in Lagos - even though PDP led FG was foot dragging on its responsibilities. Bill Clinton will be like are these people crazy if we throw away these opportunities (or leave it in the hands of vampires) by not returning APC to Alausa. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CO9uS7kUXI

Lack of intelligent opposition. PDP is known for thuggery and bigotry. They have not shown in recent times that they have the intelligent capacity to engage is issue-based discussions. |
tupacshakur:I am not in that line of profession so I can't get him a job. But even if I could, I wouldn't dare call someone who can't speak good english for an audit job. Let alone a tribal bigot with bad english and no experience when more than half of his would-be company's clients will be from another tribe. |
adeoladrg:And you people think all these will disappear with Jimi on PDP's platform? My people die because of ignorance. |
Inspite of all the evils you have listed above, Lagos is still the most prosperous state in the country able to stand on its feet. You'd rather sacrifice a man (the then accountant general) who ensured Lagos met all its financial obligations (Local gov workers; Hospital staff salaries were paid during those inglorious days) despite starvation from FG. From what you said, you are not actually voting because Jimi has any record of that convinced you, but you'd just rather vote against Tinubu even though Lagos has seen unprecedented growth under APC. With due respect, that's very dumb. You are 100% entitled to vote for any candidate of your choice, but if for nothing else, I will not vote and tell my family and friends not to vote for pdp that sponsored opc to terrorise Lagosians and above all, Jimi who is counting on dividing the state along tribal lines just to get to office. The same way GEJ did with religion and tribalism. Yes Tinubu has many not-so-clean slate, but I will still vote Tinubu's candidate ahead of Bode George;s candidate. I am voting because my relatives are using the General hospitals and they are assured the the hospitals have electricity, the street lights are lit in the night, many of the roads are tarred. I will vote for a party that not only secured Ahmadu Bello Way from erosion from ocean surge but also reclaimed 2km of eroded land. This is supposed to be a federal government responsibility to protect the shore line. I remember sometime during Tinubu administration when FG stopped him from undertaking the shoreline project. I remember driving along Ahmadu Bello way some years back and the beach was dangerously close to the road. If Ahmadu Bello had been washed away due to FG's foot-dragging, thousands (possibly millions) of lives and businesses would have been lost and how many more will be lost because the erosion will continue. The Eko Atlantic project alone underscores the vision of the APC leadership - Under "Tinubu's corrupt guidance". The amount of investment in Lagos will SOAR buy the time Eko Atlantic is in full swing. If Tinubu is corrupt but under his "corrupt guide", Lagos still funds effectively free education in public schools along the many projects, then I'd rather him continue with his corruption which has brought so many development to Lagos. Can we say the same thing with PDP? All the states that PDP had controlled in the SW in the past, how many of them had seen a quarter of this type of project under APC leadership. You have every right to vote whoever you want, but don't complain when OPC/thugs come back to terrorise you - Tinubu will still have his billions to protect himself and family. |
Classic Yoruba folk tale analogy and sooo very much on point. Thank you for reminding me of the good old days. A o me'rin j'oba, ereku ewele ![]() |
Arch1:Well I can now see that Jimi will be the governor of Alaba int'l market - with state house in China lane . |
Except you are a biker catching fun, why will anybody want to travel to Europe by road? Except of course a desperado trying to make illegal entry. |
MzJackBaueress:madam, I completely agree with you |
gists:This is probably long overdue. It shouldn't just be limited to employment opportunities alone. Engaging contractors and sourcing materials should also be included. Globacom, although owned by Adenuga, will have to engage Emeka and sons if it plans to open a regional switch in Aba. Same applies to Dangote with the cement factory in Papalanto. He will have to engage Taju Nigeria enterprises. I know at first it may sound to some people like institutionalising nepotism, but I think it may just spark a healthy rivalry among the various regions. Who doesn't want MTN to open the next scratch card production facility in its region - especially when you are guaranteed the locals (indigenes) and local contractors and business men will be engaged. If you want to create employment for your people and boost the income for your people and local business men and contractors, the the various regions will do anything to woo companies. Things like tax breaks and other incentives will come in exchange for promoting local content ![]() More suggestions will be appreciated. |
omenka:@the bolded. Mehn! omenka, ika ni e LWKMD ![]() |
I was just thinking about the Niger Content Development programme and wondering if this can be extended to the SW and other regions. Can there be a legislation that promote consideration for people from the operational areas of all the major "blue-chip" companies i.e the banks, the telcos, discos, manufacturing before considering other indigenes. For example, the Globacom Branch in Kano should pay more emphasis to recruiting more of people from that regions than others. Similarly, Orient petroleum in Anambra should be compelled to employ more of Igbos than others. Same goes for UBA or Zenith bank in Ibadan will employ more Yourbas than others. Guiness in Benin will employ more of Niger Deltans ETC. Just thinking aloud ![]() |
Every person or group of people have an elastic limit to which their patience can be tested. Those calling the bluff of this movement obviously underestimate the power behind this message - especially if it goes viral. Absolutely nothing is impossible especially for a intelligent and willing minds. |
Fezchima:Good set of questions: 1. If the population of Igbo is that much in lagos, why is it so difficult for Apga to sponsor a candidate. He will surely win going by this information. 2. What position would you rather have? Why do the Igbos see appointment to Lagos political office as a right? Is the appointment to political offices by population or by merit? What other tribe has been given a commissioner post in Lagos? How many non-igbo indigens have political appointments in the whole of SE? You response to these questions will be invaluable. 3. Perhaps it is igbos that should help us answer this question. i will suggest you start with Arthur Eze (of Orient Petroleum) who said “That short man called Ngige, we gave him power and he went and joined Awolowo’s people; the people that killed the Igbos."It is some myopic set of Igbos that have labelled APC a Yoruba party and that is why they refused to vote for any apc candidate in the last election. So direct this your 3rd question to some of your myopic Igbo brethren. |
LAX89:Tinubu is a politician, Falana is a lawyer and a human right activist - big difference! Besides, why should Tinubu apologise? The Oba is not a member of APC as he said. So if I make a wrong statement and it favours APC, Tinubu should still apologise even though I am not a member of any political party - right? Did GEJ or any PDP leader apologised when Clerk called Igbos slaves? BTW I don't think Tinubu is on the defensive. He is just laying the facts and setting the setting the records straight. I promised myself not to engage in this emotion laden outbust, so I will like to end this discussion here. |
ifyan:Keep up the good work with the true news posts. But many people like myself may be skeptical when we see .com because there are almost countless junk bloggers out there. As you said, good name is far better. Try make your own name like nairaland, ynaija, kingebuka etc (linda ikeji is just an exception). With your own name you command more respect, get more followership which leads to more advert revenue and become immune from goggle unannounced short-down. Just my opinion. |
otemanuduno:hahahaha I think you should open a fresh thread for this. But leave out the tribal part. We've had more than enough. |
I am beginning to change my mind towards Tinubu. Now, I am looking forward to the day he will emerge as the president of Nigeria. He is just brilliant and doesn't know how to disappoint. His response is just classic. You don't have to agree with me but fault his response if you can. “To you Igbos, don’t we pay your children’s school fees like others? Or is it the palace that pays for it? When we conducted an exam and a spelling competition, an Igbo boy, Ebuka, from Anambra, came first and he became the governor for one day. |
GboyegaD:Check how credible the In any case, I saw on Channel Discovery a few nights ago that the first skyscraper is about 50% complete. So I guess the project is still on course. |
Nigeria did not qualify for 2015 nations cup. But Nigeria return the trophy she won in the last edition. Using the same standard for praising GEJ "heroic" action for conceding defeat in an election he lost, Nigeria should be given CAF award for returning the trophy she didn't qualify to defend. Very silly to say the least ![]() |
Activa:Thank you. I was about to come up with a similar list. Add Tunde Ayeni, Jimoh Ibrahim on the business side. BTW I am from Ogun. |
Sweetguy25:You are the one that is out of touch with reality. Tell me how do you rig election in a region where you are not popular? How can Jonathan rig election in the NW or NE and expect to emerge as winner in those regions. The only place the election could have been rigged in his favour is in SS and SE - and they did. Don't tell me the 73% turnout rate in Rivers and over 60 in both Delta and Akwa Ibom are natural when the national average was just about 50% (even the so-called Kano, Katsina and Kaduna votes were just about 50% turnout rate). And the fact that he tried to remove Jega few weeks to election showed how desperate he was to upturn the will of the people. GEJ lost because of his divisive style of government which made him rely so much on the votes from SS/SE even though that is the region with the least number of registered voters. Another factor that contributed to his loss was the people he surrounded himself with and the die-hard fanbase he has in SE who never told him the truth about his many errors but were quick to blame it on APC/Northern elites/muslims. How can an incumbent president allow his as$lickers to demonise Islam - the main religion of the region with about 50% of the registered voters in the country and you expect to win their votes. Not even minding the fact that he didn't take their plight seriously on the Boko Haram issue (again instead of rolling his sleeves and tackle the menace, he was busy blaming the same northerners and APC for sponsoring BH) Finally, those calling GEJ a hero are just as$lickers. They are his main enemy that refused to tell him the truth from day one. So because Nigeria did not qualify for 2015 nations cup. But Nigeria return the trophy she won in the last edition. Going by the GEJ "heroic" action for conceding defeat in an election he lost, Nigeria should be given CAF award for returning the trophy she didn't qualify to defend. ![]() |
I just saw the OP's name. So I decided to just move along. Afterall who wants to engage a "zomby" ![]() |
BuddahMonk:Simple, go and start a forum and get the hell out of nairaland. You guys should just make up your mind on what you really want. On one hand you want your cousin to continue to be the president of Nigeria, while on the other hand you want Biafra. There's a saying that goes ; you can't eat your cake and still have it. And as for your religious bigotry, I leave you to languish in it. Sorry GMB is the President-elect. Learn to leave with it or ship out to Mexico or Biafranistan ![]() |
DesChyko:Bros, did you not read where the writer said it was former president Abdulsalam who sounded the note of reality check to GEJ. Here is the section of the article just in case you missed it. And I have since discovered that members of the National Peace Committee, which is headed by former President Abdulsalami Abubakar, visited President Jonathan as the results were being announced. As if I knew, this must have been what happened and I mentioned in on a recent post. GEJ is not a hero, he is just not as clueless as we think ![]() gists: |
I refused to be distracted. These are the same western powers that looked the other way when 2011 was shamefully rigged. Granted int'l alliances needs to be strengthened and new ones formed. But the real job is at home - to rebuild Nigeria and restore integrity. So please, General, stay focused. But I trust sha ![]() |
