What would you say about someone who calls himself a Christian but became converted during his time in atheism after he saw himself being possessed by a spirit. He clearly tells you that the spirit that possessed him isn't the Holy Spirit.
This is the same person who says all churches out there are satanic. The Epistles of Paul are not to be subscribed to. Does not believe the Bible to be the word of God. Does not believe that God has any help or solution to offer men in times of crisis. His heretical positions are so weird and anti-God so much so that, he can defend an unbeliever's position against the position of scripture.
I don't understand the type of Christianity you practice, but if you do not have an answer for such a person simply Bev you've decided not to interfere, then you're an hypocrite.
The scriptures in Romans 12 encourages those who are strong to support the weak.

Do you know there are whole wikiworlds dedicated to fictional characters and universes like Harry Potter, Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC Universe etc, each with teeming characters. All make believe. Millions of people(grown ass peeps) spend time and energy debating amongst themselves if Superman is stronger than Batman, if Harry Potter can beat Voldemort one-on-one etc.
Now, do they ever believe these characters existed? No! Does it stop them from arguing til they're blue in the face? No! It is a mark of cerebral maturity to argue on such fictional characters.
Now that is the same way atheists argue about the Bible. Being good bible students, atheists use this knowledge to debate 'logically' on outcomes and possible results of fictional bible events.
I dont expect this to make sense to theists like you whose worldview is steeped in fictions, but hey, that's how we got Hitler

If offerings were made compulsory by certain churches, those churches will either deny entry into services based on offering status of worshippers or eject worshippers. That isn't the case with churches.
Making provision for offering is not equal to forcing it or making it compulsory.

It's just a literary device, poetic license. There are many fictional characters that I discuss as though their actions were real, it doesn't mean I actually think they are real. Your god is a fiction I may choose to discuss just to put the supposed god's actions in context and explain certain of my views none of which mean I believe your god exists.

However maybe atheists should stop doing that so they don't confuse people like you whose sense of humor, irony and sarcasm might be underdeveloped.

I do not understand the bolded part. When people speak or write to us, as matured believers, we can read between the lines and provide godly counsels where necessary. What I did was to provide godly counsels to him where I saw he was wrong. You countered me for that, and now I'm asking you whether you could now see that my perceptions about him were correct or not. Or may I ask you 'What advice do you now have for him after reading his response?' Or perhaps, you still have reasons to counter me again?

I also did not agree with your initial approach to, as you put it "read between the lines", when you can clearly read the lines and ask for clarification of what he was saying. Before the birth of Jesus the God of Abraham planned to establish pure worship because all the inhabitants of the earth are worshiping other Gods {Joshua 24:2} that's why the nations were fighting as their different Gods were striving for territories using worshipers as their soldiers but most times the Israelites God fights for His own people! 1. Your Yahweh specifically instructed the Israelites to slaughter everything that moves in the cities of Amalek, Canaan, Jericho, Canaanites, Perizzites, Jebusites and others etc. Everything. He even got angry when the Israelites kept some of the people alive, he wanted them dead

the “crimes” for which God prescribes the death penalty,
God’s anger and wrath in punishing his people, and
God’s command to the Israelites to commit genocide.
The death penalty. There are numerous “crimes” for which God, through the Law of Moses, requires the death penalty. Among these are sacrificing to a god other than Yahweh (Exodus 22:20), persistent rebelliousness on the part of a child (Deuteronomy 21:18–21), a child who hits or curses his or her parents (Exodus 21:15 and 17), working on the Sabbath (Exodus 35:2), premarital sexual intercourse (Deuteronomy 22:13–21), and the requirement for a priest to burn his daughter alive if she became a prostitute (Leviticus 21:9).

God’s anger and wrath. In the Old Testament, God’s anger repeatedly burns against his people for their disobedience. At times, the punishment he dispenses seems particularly harsh, unjust, and disproportionate. Let’s consider just one example.

In 2 Samuel 24, we find that King David decided to take a census of the men of fighting age. The prophet Gad was sent to David to announce God’s displeasure with the taking of the census. The punishment for David’s sin: “The Lord sent a pestilence on Israel from that morning until the appointed time; and seventy thousand of the people died” (2 Samuel 24:15). David makes a decision that does not please God, and God kills 70,000 Israelites for it? How could this action ever be reconciled with a God of mercy, compassion, justice, and love?

Oh, What a loving god
