Lagos is peaceful because there is no food for lazy man in Lagos. Nobody have 100 percent claim to it. But the future is bleak cos for the first time there has been an attitude of owners.
Yorubas will always protect their heritage just like it happens in other places too

It's statistics like these that make me give up on Nigeria! Imagine taking from Peter and handing over to Paul....even when Paul despises Peter!

Look at Onitsha, that's the second most populated and cosmopolitan area in Nigeria...the city get's next to nothing by way of federal infrastructure, recognition and assistance! Almost all it's developmental and governance challenges are left to the Anambra state gov't to manage! This is as the evil gov't in Abuja is stealing their hydrocarbons and refusing to recognise them as a oil producing state!

Then there's kano, that has benefited from the ridiculous number of LGAs the northern miliatry oligarchs handed over to them! They also benefit financially from the ojoro census whereby they receive a lot more than Anambra from the federation account! All these are the financial benefits you know and hear of.....over the past decades, the cunning muslim northern rulers of Nigeria have devised many other stealthy ways to greedily corner even more of Nigerias' resources to their region!

Lagos, as we all know, benefited from a lot of federal gov't infrastructure! The present Nigerian political-economy in play has also benefitted them by way of the pre-eminent commercial and industrial status the city holds in 'one Nigeria'! This city, owned and invested in by ALL Nigerians is presently being administratively controlled by just one ethnic group as we speak! When you ask them, they will tell you the capital of the country moved to Abuja since 1991 (i think that was the year) and so you should remove your 'covetous' eye from Lagos because it now belongs to them....and they're even doing you a 'favour' by allowing you to live there! lipsrsealed
The second Niger bridge being built will serve Kano abi? Why are you guys so greedy?

Even if everything is given to you guys, you will still complain and murmur. I just tire for Una matter.

The Buhari you guys hate is the one making second Niger bridge possible which will open up onitsha more. omo you guys are heartless

This a clear case of hypocrisy.. All hell was loosed when it concerned the North but they became mute when it concerned them.
That is how they were mute in GEJ administration when the deputy speaker, deputy senate president and SGF were all from the east at the same time. It's their way, only ignorant peeps fall for their blackmail

Truth is bitter, they are just good at propaganda, good at making trouble, they should ask themselves if they actually deserve all the achievements. If you ask any of them to explain how they are marginalized, they will not give reasonable answer, rather, you will see them stammering. After all, they did not vote Buhari but he did what PDP could not do for them, yet they are not satisfied. The good thing is, the majority knows the truth and that is why the Igbos are greatly divided, though among the majority that knows truth, some are not honest, they kept quiet, sponsoring and observing the trend. Many that matters in Igboland already declared their support for one united Nigeria, so the propaganda, the agitations, the UGM (IPOB, ESN) and Biafra is already a failure. Kanu is in a comfortable place, deceiving the gullible and trending.
You capture it well, they only feel marginalized when they can't marginalize others

GuyfawkesAB:
Misplaced priority. Most airlines across the world are only managing to stay afloat because of the huge cost of running and low profits. A sitting governor whose state has over 50% unemployment and has one of the worst education index in the country is investing heavily in an airline. Most of the youths are either cultists or keke riders. How many British Counties or American States have their own airlines? Even Russia where the distances are large and owning an airline is justified, only a few of the many federating states actually have and operate an airline e.g Yakutia, Ural, Rossiya and Yamal.

Udom is a very big and incompetent fool. All his education is a waste. No impactful or legacy initiative by his government, only cosmetic, white elephant projects - 21 stories towers that is yet to be occupied by the IOCs he claimed he built it for; Ecumenical Centre where Ibomites can be continually scammed by religious Forex Traders and Ibom Air gives him away as a harebrained f**ktard
Let the next governor fix the unemployment issue. The airline will impact tourism in the State leading to more jobs.

Let's stop being emotional and celebrate laudable achievements like this cos it impacts the economy at the end.

Abuse does not give your point weight.

That is why I said steps.

Holding a discussion forum for instance with the Governors on why they should adhere to the decision.
Carrying out some enforcement processes with the judiciary and legislator etcc.

We need steps, not just words.
The Governors can never agree to the judiciary or local govt autonomy ish, the VP a whole professor of law once appealed to them but still, they went to court on the matter. The Governors have become emperors, only true restructuring with the abolishing of states for regions can cut their wings

The problem with southerners is that they use their heart instead of their head in politics. Reread that poster comment from a neutral perspective and see the sense in what he's saying. Can't you even see that the problem in the con3 is being sponsored by those people that don't want to handover power to the south. Guys wake up. These guys would rather plunge Nigeria into a civil war than handover power to a southerner (especially now that all southerners are crying for restructuring)and that is want they are doing. They are sponsoring crisis everywhere because its the turn of the south to rule. If there was a devilish agreement to give power to yoruba why are they saying it especially as easyerners are 5%? Don't be fooled or cowed by your party members. There will be no southerner on APC presidential ticket especially when PDP is bringing out a popular Northerner like tambuwal, Atiku or kwankwaso. Just watch by 2022 many of them will use the tinubu tactics to decamp to pdp or form a new party just to give back power to Northerner. Watch and see
Northerners do not own Nigeria, a southerner has ruled before and will rule again, PMB is a beneficiary of zoning, folks in PDP turned against GEJ because of that. Nigeria does not belong to some set of people. We southerners need to come off this psychological fear about the north. It's unfounded abeg

Almost nothing. The democratic system permeates the governors to be selfish and misbehave. That is one reason I am scared of the State Police. If it happens, it can guarantee a party ruling a state till eternity.
if the local govt and judiciary are autonomous which is what the governors are also refusing, no one can abuse state police.

it also shows how depraved our education system is, most of the things I know about the federal system of govt, I learnt in secondary school in social studies and Government subjects, I just wonder if Government is still taught in secondary schools today with the ignorance you see in nairaland. WHY DID YOU PUT ALL THE BLAME ON PRESIDENT GOODLUCK? HYPOCRITES
Buhari signed an executive order for the local govt to receive their allocations directly. If the governors had agreed, that would have been a major masterstroke. That's one major thing Buhari did that Goodluck didn't have the liver for.

You guys should move pass Goodluck, he could only organise a conference party for too much talk but could not muster enough courage to dare. If PMB had insisted on the Governors, we would all label him a tyrant.

He has tried by signing an executive order for the autonomy of the judiciary and local govt which is in line with the constitution but your governors are having none of it.

The federal government has given the order. Take the most pungent action against the government.

Useless, partisan, PDP sponsored SERAP is also part of the problem. At a time Father Mbaka disappeared from public view ostensibly to consult with his bishop in Enugu, useless SERAP took to their twitter handle to accuse the federal government (DSS) of arresting him and you can rightly imagine the response of the enemies of the country - within and without the country.

So SERAP shoup shut the f*ck up. If the desire a regime change they should wait till 2023, if they can mobilize the required number. Bloody hypocrites.

Paradigm Initiative, a digital advocacy organisation, put the cost of suspending Twitter operations in Nigeria at $250,600 per hour.

“Exactly 24 hours ago, the government of Nigeria announced the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria. Since then, the country has lost N2,177,089,051 ($6,014,390) based on the cost of Shutdown Tool. The loss continues at a rate of N90,712,044 ($250,600) every hour,” it said on Saturday.

The company used the NetBlocks Cost of Shutdown Tool to arrive at the estimate. The tool estimates the economic impact of internet disruptions, mobile data blackouts or app restriction using indicators from the World Bank, International Telecommunication Union, Eurostat, and US Census.
